Touchpad on Palm Pilot Tungsten E2 has stopped functioning

I have a Palm Pilot Tungsten E2. One day it was working fine. The next day, with no new applications added or anything different, the screen touchpad is frozen. I can touch the screen, the letters pad, the numbers pad, the icons, etc. and nothing works. No matter where I touch on the screen, nothing happens. It powers up and asks for my password, but I can't enter the password because the touchpad won't accept any entry. When I connect the USB cable and cable, then press the hotsync button, nothing happens. What can I do to perform a hotsync so that I can retrieve my information?

Result: Though I didn't find the exact answer, it led me in the right direction and I was able to figure out a way to unlock my frozen digitizer/touchscreen so I could hotsync with my laptop. After getting it unlocked and hotsyncing, my E2 reset itself and I had the opportunity to use the hard buttons at the bottom to get to the touchscreen option and used another user's suggestion about making a small z in each dot instead of touching the center as prompted. The touchscreen on my E2 is now working properly again ... at least for the moment. All my info remains intact and I am able to pick up where I left off. In January 2013 I'll try and find time to make a video illustrating my fix to post for others having the same problem.

I just got a Tungsten E2, it was working okay until I tried to install an app - I keep getting the message "Palm One Quick Install has stopped working". I can't even open the program on my computer. I was able to upload pictures using hotsync, but it wouldn't let me add the app to Documents to Go.   Should I just delete the program and reinstall? What OS is on your computer, and which version of Palm Desktop are you using?
I'm not quite understanding what you're attempting to do... You want to "add the app to Documents to Go"?
Are you trying to sync an Office file?
Is the program you're trying to add PalmOS files? Are they still in .zip form or .exe? If so, you need to unpack or run the .exe on your computer first.

The calendar on my Tungsten E2 has stopped syncing with my windows 7 PC. All other conduits sync perfectly but only if I first change the conduit setup to not include the calendar as part of the syncing process. I have already tried reinstalling the Palm Desktop, but this did not help. If I try syncing with the calendar included in the syncing process, the entire syncing process freezes up when it comes to the calendar. Thanks for any ideas.

I'm not sure if I should be asking my question here, or on the HP/Palm Forums area. Has HP bought out Palm Pilot? I know they have the Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus. I have a Palm Pilot Tungsten E2 and need to transfer all the info off of it to my HTC Hero Smartphone. Can and how would this be done? Any help is greatly appreciated! PLEASE HELP!!

The version I linked to was for Windows Vista so it should still work within Windows 7.

Open "Java Preferences" either from spotlight or your utilities folder...it's probably going to say you need to install a java runtime. Then just click install!

First try re-setting the Ruler Tool from the tool's fly-out menu.
If that doesn't do it, then trash and recreate Photoshop preferences.
If you had at least indicated your platform, I could be more specific, but here it goes anyway:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

Extended My Sites has stopped functioning correctly

I have recently extended MySites to an Internet Zone and it has stopped functioning correctly.
Previously, when i navigated to https://mysites it automatically navigated to https://mysites/my. Now, it stays on https://mysites and tells me i don't have permission to view this site. If i manually go to https://mysites/my it works fine.
It is the same behaviour for the extended internet zone. this is set to https://mysites.domain.com and works fine if i navigate to https://mysites.domain.com/my, but not if a dont type the virtual directory. As stated, this has been working fine for months
without the /my needing to be included, it has only changed since extending to the internet zone.
Any help would be appreciated.

According to your description, my understanding is that My Sites had stopped functioning correctly after you extended MySites to an Internet Zone.

The warning about the warranty is light hearted, I think at one stage it warned "here be dragons" but also intended to make us think as it warns that making changes may produce problems.

It's a 3rd party app. You really should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums

Thanks, it makes sense but I am a little worried about the files that are coming up for lr catalog. In order to process today's photos I opened a new catalog and that went well -- up to Smugmug and out to the client. but the only other file with today's (date which is when I had the problem -- power failure while I was importing) -- is not a previews file but in fact the corrupt lr.cat.
the rest listed including previews are dated 2012. Am I not looking in the proper place.

Control Key has stopped functioning

My MBP (early 2009) 17" has just come back from apple after having the motherboard, battery and magsafe port replaced. Unfortunately the ctr key has stopped working, this is osx (10.6.5) and Windoze 7. Does it need to go back to the shop or is there some firmware or software that hasn't been installed after its replaced innards that i can sort out.

2. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple.

Captivate 5.5 Audio button has stopped functioning

My Audio button to insert audio into a Captivate 5.5 text files has stopped working. When I click on it, it freezes my Captivate screen and I have to close the program. I can remove audio but can't Add. I can go the Library and access and edit the audio there. I've tried rebooting etc. Any thoughts. I have a deadline today but looks like not going to make it. Can you reproduce this issue with a Blank new Project ?
If you do not have a specific preferences and setting for your Adobe Captivate then please follow these steps :
1) Close Adobe Captivate 5.5
2) Rename "Captivate 5.5" folder :
Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
Mac: /Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/
3) Launch Adobe Captivate 5.5
4) Open your project or a blsnk new project and check Insert -> Audio

Since Preview is part of the system, you can reinstall your OS using your install disks. It will automatically install the correct version. I have not been running Snow Leopard, so I cannot check on the correct version of Preview; however, how did it "stop functioning"? Exactly what happened?
