Touchpad pointer jumps around when connecting to samsung 40'' LCD

Hi guys
For the past two years, I have been connecting my macbookpro 13’’ (mid2009) to my Samsung 40’’ LCD using mini displayport to hdmi cable, suddenly something went wrong and the touchpad pointer started to  jump (twitch) around. I tried different adapter but the problem still occurred. when I remove the cable. the pointer act normal.
Last night I connected my MBP to an old made in china LCD TV and everything worked fine.
what do you think is the problem? Is there any troubleshooting steps I should do? Please help

No trackpad control when HDMI cable connected or trackpad goes crazy when HDMI cable connected?
The erratic Track Pad/Magic Pad behaviour could be caused by the SMC.
Try resetting the SMC this way:
1. Attach the HDMI cable.
2. Power off the MacBook Pro.
3. Press the L-Shift/Control/Option and Power button at the same time and hold.
4. Release them all at the same time (its ok if the MacBook Pro power on now)
5. Then power on the MacBook Pro.
Not only did my USB regain functionality, but it appears to have resolved my erratic Track Pad/Magic Pad behaviour. It now operates as it had done when new.

  • Touchpad pointer jumps around when connecting to HDMIt

    Greetings,
    I have been using the HDMI port of my Macbook pro retina for 1 year with my samsung LCD,
    and yesterday while im connected through the hdmi my touchpad
    is completely erratic, jumping around and self clicking.
    Before i had no problem!
    when i disconnect the Hdmi cable everything is fine again.
    Pleast help, any ideas why suddenly my touchpad is behaving like this?
    Many thanks,
    Nico

    There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
    3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
    5. Reset the System Management Controller.
    6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad or mouse, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    8. A defective peripheral device or a damaged cable can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using any wired peripherals, disconnect them one at a time and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • X230: Pointer jumps away when lifting finger from touchpad

    Guys I'm having this issue with my touchpad, when I slide towards a button on the screen and lift my finger up to hit the click button, in most of the cases I mis-click because it seems the pointer jumps away when I lift my finger. This is very irritating.
    This was default with clean install Windows 7. So I installed the drivers i.e. UltraNav, but that made things worse! Now it seems like the resolution has dropped and the mouse cursor is twitchy. I played with the UltraNav settings, made things a bit better, but yet still worse than the default configuration I had with Windows 7. Oh yeah, the jumpiness of the cursor remained after lifting finger from touchpad. So I removed those drivers again...
    What to do now? Seems like a software issue, but that jumping drives me nuts.......

    I find that touchpad is most usable with latest ultranav drivers, medium senisitivity and whatever 2finger gesture things you like.
    In Windows settings have enhanced pointer precision checked (important) and mid-high pointer speed.
    Still though, it feels horrible to use

  • How do I get a full screen pre-view on my ipad air when connecting my samsung NX 300 camera

    When connecting my samsung nx300 camera via wifi to my ipad air using samsung smart camera app I can only get a small pre-view window on the corner of the screen (80x40) The camera as been back to samsung and they have confirmed that it is working ok.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Doesn't solve your wifi connection problem, but you can use Apple's camera connection kit to transfer pics/videos from your camera. You can connect the camera to the iPad using a USB cable or use the camera's SD card.

  • Mouse pointer jumping around since 10.10.3

    Dear all.
    Since 10.10.3 upgrade my mouse pointer is jumping around all over the place.
    First i thought it was maybe a bluetooth issue (i am using magic mouse) so i disabled that.
    But.. without active magic mouse, the mouse pointer still keeps jumping.
    So now my macbookpro has become almost unworkable.
    Anyone ?

  • Transform Effect jumps around when Collapse Transformation is enabled

    I created a reflection on one of my vector based animated layers. Then decided to apply reflection with Transform effect.
    It all held true before I assigned "Collapse Transformation" and my Transform effect is going awry. Basically because there is zoom out with the camera and scale as well.
    Transformation's Anchor points and Distance are note keeping up with the movements and reflection is jumpint all over the place.
    Where should this Transformation effect be applied. On the first level when I created my PreComp1 with all the layers (and then PreComp1 is getting nested within other PreComps) or at the very end at the Final PreComp for render I should apply this effect.
    It seems to jump around in any case...

    I read the help, it states that Collapse Transormation buttons treats the PreComp as seprated layers, which preserved 3D treatiment for casting shadows and does not cut off shapes by PreComp size.
    It seems to work for me that I check continuosly rasterize on each individual illustrator imported layer (inside the PreComp1), so when I enlarge the shapes they stay crisp. Then I keep on checking Collapse transformations on all consequtive PreComps and everything stays sharp.
    My question is at what stage I would better apply Transform effect, which doesn't seem to work. Should it be on the PreComp1 layer with all the Continuoiusly rasterize enabled or on final Render Out PreComp where "Collapse Transformations" is checked off?
    In eather way because of movement of these illustrator layers, Transform position seems to be fixe on screen, but is not relevant to shape movement whithin the PreComp1.
    What previously worked for me was that I applied Transformation on each individual illustrator layer, however I did not enable "Collapse Transformations" in and consequtive PreComps. As soon as this feature is enabled everything goes awry....

  • Mouse pointer jumps around screen

    My Emac mouse pointer jumps aroung the screen. I have tried restarting and a permissions repair. I'm still having the problem. Any ideas?
    Emac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Is this the original Apple mouse? Do you have any third-party mouse drivers installed? (Look in System Preferences under "Other"). Presumablly you've tried adjusting the mouse sensitivity in System Preferences; have you also checked if the mouse if jumpy in other user accounts? If you can, try a different USB mouse on the eMac to ccheck it's not the hardware.
    You can test if the mousing surface is at fault by using a plain sheet of heavyweight bond paper as a mouse pad. If that resolves the issue, try the tip first suggested in the eMac Discussions by Ron Jackle: use a plain floor tile as a mouse pad. You want one that's non-glossy, fairly plain, and not too refelctive. I've got such tiles in use on several computers (Macs, PCs, and Unix), using a light tan 8x10 tile from Home Depot, label 8x10-5202, SKU 3057645425, which retails for about US$1 (I recall the last one beint 89 cents plus tax) when bought one at a time.
    p.s. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

  • Mouse pointer jumping around the screen

    My mouse pointer has just started jumping around the screen. It vibrates and slowly moves down the screen even if I am not touching it. I have cleaned the sensor but that has not helped. I unplugged it and the pointer still jumped around.
    Any ideas what might be causing this as I have not seen quite this problem on other discussions.

    HI,
    That's interesting... restart your iMac. See if that makes a difference.
    Also, do you have anything nearby that might cause interference, like a cell phone or graphics tablet?
    May sound crazy, but dust and lint build up on a mouse pad can cause erratic cursor behavior.
    You could try deleting this file.
    com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
    /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your iMac.

  • Source code jumps around when re-opening page?

    Is the following a common problem with Dreamwver CS4 Source Code view?
    In an effort to make the code read nice and neat, like everyone else I try to indent and nest my code. For example:
    <div>
              <ul>
                        <li>one</li>
                        <li>one</li>
                        <li>one</li>
              </ul>
    </div>
    But, upon saving a file and then later reopening it, I notice that in places the file does not keep my intended spaced nested layout i.e. the code jumps around on a line and I lose my neat indent spacing. For example:
    <div>
              <ul>
          <li>one</li>
                        <li>one</li>
                        <li>one</li>
                 </ul>
    </div>
    I have tried to set my preferences > code format > tab size to 10 to produce a larger indent which has improved the problem a little but not fixed it.
    Others must have experienced this frustrating problem.
    Is there anything I can do to fix it, like set further preferences to give me complete control over the page?
    Thanks in advance.

    Oh can it? I will look into this thanks Ken.
    With regards the CSS, I found out about it on Lynda.com training videos.
    - Dreamweaver CS4 with CSS Essential Training > Chapter 13: Testing and Deploying CSS > Formatting code for deployment
    The process is as follows:
    On Dreamweaver CS4 click Edit > Preferences > Code Format > CSS (button)
    On the CSS Source Format Options screen, de-select the "Each property on a seperate line" check box and click "OK" and then "OK".
    Then on your CSS page, in the left side panel, click "Format Source Code" and the "Apply Source Formatting" selection.
    The code will then condense for deployment.
    You can reverse the process just as easily going backwards.
    If anyone else has any ideas on code jumping around on a line please do let me know. Thanks.
