Touchpad scrolls up before scrolling down

I have an issue with a t410s. When i enter the finger on the upper right corner of the touchpad, from outside (screen side) the touchpad, first the screen scrolls very fast UP, and only after the finger reaches an area more down (near myself) it beginns to scroll down regularily.
I tried activating / deactivating all touchpad options with no effect.
It is very annoyng, if i want the screen scroll down, i can not use the full hight of the touchpad, but i must put the  finger belov but non above the upper right touchpad corner.
Can someone confirm this issue, or help me resolving it?

  • Zen Sleek Touchpad problem - scrolling down acts like a scroll

Yes, a strange problem I ran into today. Everytime I try to scroll down using the touchpad on my Zen Sleek, the cursor moves up instead. It's like the whole touchpad can only move the cursor in one-direction, up. Even if I try to use the rapid-scroll, the cursor just moves up rapidly
This happened yesterday, when on one bar of battery, my Sleek, around the afternoon froze while starting up and I could not restart it because I did not have a paperclip on me. After I get home hours later, I charge my Sleek since the battery died. And, now, today... I am at this rather strange problem.
And, my Sleek hasn't given me problems since I bought it a year ago besides the occasional lockups on one-bar of battery.

. Detach the Zen player from your PC , and ensure that the Zen Sleek is turned off.
    2. Connect the power supply to the player.
    3. Hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a paper clip into the Reset hole
underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. Keep on holding the
Play/Pause button while you release the Reset button. The Rescue Mode screen will
    then appear.

  • Whenever a page is idle over 10 secs or so, tab bar fades out and I need to tap the page before I can scroll down.

It seems that the browser backgrounds itself, once I tap on the page the tab bar becomes active (ie. it's no longer faded out) and I can use my space bar or touch pad to continue scrolling down the page again.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

    * On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.

  • Scrolling Down in Movie List Slow - before & after 2.0 update

I have an issue where scrolling down in a movie list is slow, yet going up is fine.
Pressing down takes as much as 10 seconds before it will move to the next movie. Sometimes I only have 3 or 4 movies, and still the same issue.
Doesn't seem to affect other lists, and if you hit the remote twice, it will go down twice, but with the 10 second pause in-between. It almost seems like it is waiting for the thumbnail view of the movie, and once that appears, it seems to behave.
Have 10+ gigs free, have hard reset and downloaded all new updates again. I have Gigabit hardwire throughout (even though this only connects at 100Mbps), so I do not think it is a LAN issue.
This is happening with 1.1 and 2.0.
Most movies are 720P AVI or MKV files that I run through VisualHub 1.30, using AppleTV settings, Go Nuts, and x.264 - sorry I can't be more specific in this area.
I am thinking something is either wrong with one or all of the videos, or the TV itself.
I searched, and could not find anything quite like this (actually one thread that had no answer). So I am stumped...

I had the same problem with music videos that I download then converted myself. The wait on the way down is caused by your aTV taking time togenerate a thumbnail to display for your movie. For reasons unknon to me, some movies are harder to generatethumbnails for than others. It even happens when I open itunes and highlight a video, and wait for the thumbnail to appear in the lower left corner....some take much longer than others.
A fix I've figured out is to simply add your own artwork to all of your movies. You can make an image yourself, or just download any picture (relatively small) from the internet, and change the artwork for every movie to one picture (or you can put a different one for each movie...just google pic search a picture for your movie and drag it into the artwork window).
If you do this for all of your movies, scrolling will be very simple...

  • When I print doc in Adobe Reader, it automatically scrolls down several inches before starting to print text.  Therefore text runs off bottom of page.  Have tried all different settings and nothing works.  Help!!!!!

When I print in Adobe Reader, the paper scrolls down several inches before the text begins therefore running off the page.  I have tried numerous settings and cannot fix problem.  Help!!!

    I have finally cracked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The issue is definitely with Java Sun. "Uneven character spacing when printing JTextComponent"
It is raised on the http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6488219
And currently in OPEN state, and raised on 31 Oct 2006 and mentions it was caused by fix 4352983.
So where do we go from here. It's not good because I have tried all later version of the JVM and the issue is still there.
Why? Because it hasn't been fixed yet. Read the bug report above, as it gives more insight -- and mentions the workaround is NOT good for existing code.
So the way forward is to use an earlier version of the JVM 5.
I download the JVM version 1.5.0 (starting version) and works Ok... I would probably think version prior to 4352983 would be Ok too.
Please vote for this.... We have a workaround (use older version of the JVM).
    So I am very happy.

  • X220 Touchpad Doesn't Scroll Down, but scrolls up

I just got my X220, installed all relevant Windows and Lenovo updates, restarted several times, but the touchpad doesn't scroll down.  It only scrolls up.
Also the touchpad tap action (which is same as left click) is not as responsive as I like.  Is there a setting for that?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It is a bit more responsive now and is scrolling down more.  Not sure what has changed.  It is still not as responsive as it should be.  I'm clearly sliding my finger down on the scroll side of the touchpad and it doesn't scroll.  Yet sometimes it scrolls.  Something is still wrong.

  • When I have a message open in Hotmail I can't scroll down the message for more than a second before it springs back to the top; this is accompanied by the website eating my download limit at about a MB every 30 seconds...how do I stop this?

Hi, thanks for helping guys! When I use hotmail, and only have my inbox and cover sheet displayed, everything is fine. But, when I open a message it won't let me scroll down without springing back to the top- if I repeatedly try this it eventually lets the message scroll down. More troublingly, even if I just leave the message open it continues to eat my download allowance at a rate of about a megabyte every 30-40 seconds- so, leaving normal messages from trusted contacts open has resulted in me using a massive chunk of my restricted download allowance. I've gone back to using Firefox 3.6 and the problem has disappeared.

  • Problem scrolling down

Everytime i'm (trying) to use my safari application, when i try scrolling down the page, the application kind of brings me to the top of page; so it's like, when i want to click something i can't see at the top of the page, i scroll down, try clicking it, it brings me up, then i scroll it down again and it brings me back up.
I tought it could be a problem with my touchpad, but it does the same thing when i'm using a mouse and it just happens at safari; if i use another navigators or other application in whick i must scroll down, i have no problem. I even searched everything at preferences, but nothing about it.
Does anyone have any idea what's happening and how should i fix it?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • HT1365 Hi can anyone help with this issue regarding my wireless magic mouse? When im on google chrome and scrolling down the page i always have youtube running in the background but the audio cuts/spits/pops can anyone help me with this?

Hi can anyone help with this issue regarding my wireless magic mouse? When im on google chrome and scrolling down the page i always have youtube running in the background but the audio cuts/spits/pops can anyone help me with this?

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet.  Are you still using the same wireless router.  The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace.  For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio.   I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

  • How come I can no longer scroll down via my laptop mouse-pad with Firefox 4.0?

You know how you can use the mouse-pad on a laptop to scroll down on a web-page? I used to be able to do that in in the one before 4.0, but no longer can...anyone else have this problem?

Since today the scrolling started to work for me. Was there a fix auto installed? I havent updated anything that I know about.
I might have uninstall an old Java JRE, don't remember when I did it, could that have done it?

  • My wired mighty mouse no longer scrolls down - only up and sideways.

My wired mighty mouse no longer scrolls down; only up and sideways. It could be a hardware problem and I guess I should go and by a new mouse but before I do I thought I'd check whether there was any parameter I could change to fix or test this. Anyone else had this problem? Cheers.

  • Safari will not let me scroll down the page , it defaults to the top, this seems to have started after moving to Maverick.

I recenty upgraded to Maverick, I now find Safari has become erratic , it will not allow me to scroll down on a page it keeps defaulting back to the top , I do not have the same problemc with FireFox, only Safari.
I have tried restarting with a holding down option command PR and it did not help.
    Thoughts ?

    Hey Snozdrop-
Thanks for the reply. I did what you said. And the Time Warner page AND the dnsrsearch.com disappeared. However, now I still do not get Safari when I touch the Safari icon. Instead, it goes to a plain white page with an Apple icon, a Disney icon and ESPN icon and a Yahoo icon in a straight row across the top (under time and such and under a shaded out bar that says "Search or enter an address".) If I touch the search bar it DOES give me a keyboard below. and I can search now, but nowhere does it say that I am on Safari. (I believe there was a shaded out word google  on the grey bar, but not sure) AND -- why do those 4 icons appear in a row left to right on a blank white page when I click the Safari button? It really is truly bizarre. Never did that before. It went to Safari, lol.
I look forward to any more info you can provide. And THANK you for the help you have provided so far.

  • Mavericks Mail-cannot scroll down to select a group by holding mouse button.

I do not like the new Mavericks mail. When I attempt to hold the left mouse button and scroll down to select a group, the program automatically locks onto the first message I touch and moves it. Prior to Mavericks scrolling was an easy process. This new mail is very clumsy and I have to select one message, then hold shift key, then selelct the last message in the group. ....Clumsy and slow.
Does anyone know a workaround for this? The tutorials don't address it and the "What's new in Mail?" file doesn't either.  If there is not a workaround, is there a way to disable the Mavericks configuration in Mail and go back to regular mail? I'd appreciate any tips or help on  this.

Okay, I tried deleting the Finder preferences first (along with a handful of other preference files that I knew were no longer needed), and it seemed to help--at first. But eventually, all the same problems started happening again, so I concluded that it was necessary to just start with a fresh (empty) preferences folder. As you know, this is a pain to deal with, but I limited my pain by moving all the old preferences files into a folder on the Desktop rather than simply deleting them. That way, I could just put back any missing preferences that were too hard to recreate. Restoring all of my preferences with new (uncorrupted) prefs files will be an ongoing process, but the good news is that this effort (so far) seems to have solved the problem. Mail is responding to all my clicks, even when I switch between different apps and different spaces.  :-)
Now that things are working correctly, I notice that when I switch between apps and/or spaces, the selected app (or the frontmost app in the new space) will show an active state for its window, whereas before, the selected app didn't update to show that it was active--it kept the inactive state for its window. I'm no expert, but it seems to me that this might have something to do with the windowserver process, so it might make sense for the next person who stumbles on this thread to start by deleting any preferences files that begin with com.apple.windowserver. Just a hunch, but it's worth starting there before you do a complete flush of all your preferences.
Thanks again for the help--hopefully this workaround will be persistent. Fingers crossed!

  • N86 Web problems can't scroll down

I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I have an N86 and just upgraded the firmware to the newest release. I am having a problem with the web. It will not allow me to scroll down past a text input box. For example I tried to go to T-mobile.com and I can scroll down to the search box part of the page but can not get past that part whether or not I enter a search word. The cursor gets stuck in the search box even though I did not click on it to enter a search word. It was the same before updating the firmware. Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone also know if it's possible for me to get the web program from my N96 and install it on my N86? The N96 web is so much better than the N86's. The N96's web browser gives you the option to shrink the entire page or to zoom in on the page. It also has autofind for phone numbers, email addresses etc. The N86's web doesn't have anything like that, it's horrible.

Here's an option before taking your bb apart.  Squirt some Windex on a paper towel. Not much, say less than your thumbprint. Wrap it around your thumb.  Scroll left, right, up and down for 30 seconds or so each direction.  The cleaner coats the trackball .... the friction cleans the underlying elements.  Hey, I'm not joking. Worked for me.  Patent pending.  (NOW, I'm joking!)  Hope this helps someone.
