Touchscreen issue since IOS 5.1

Is anyone else having problems with the touchscreen since installing IOS 5.1? It seems like the calibration is off.
I am also unable to install apps. Ive tried restoring and soft resets but nothing seems to work.
Am I the only one? or does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks

Sorry -- no fixes for you but I, too, am experiencing this problem with my iPod Touch 4th gen. I even did a restore and reinstall from iTunes to see if there had been in installation issue (I had an installation issue over wi-fi where the Apple logo appeared with an empty progress bar for most of an hour). After a couple of re-boots it finally kicked in but with the touchscreen issue.  The restore didn't resolve anything. Kinda got a gut feel like the updates for the Ipad 3 screen resolution is what is causing the problem on the small screen of the iPhone/iPod. My iPad 1 isn't having any issues. I don't know if my wife's iPod is problematic or not. Both her iPad 1 and iPod 4 were updated last weekend but haven't heard any reports.

  • Issue since iOS Update with TomTom Carkit

    Hardware:
    iPhone 4, iOS latest Patchlevel
TomTom Navigation CarKit with integrated Speaker, GPS and Bluetooth connection
I have got the following issue since the iOS Update to 6.x
integrated CarKit Speaker is no longer in use=> After receiving an Email with notification signal the speaker becomes active => Makes the usage of a Navigation Software a little more complicated without spoken notifications
Continuos Bluetooth Connection loss to the dock, sometimes followed by the message: Charging with this device is not supported! Could only be solved with undocking/docking the iPhone => complicated during driving on a motorway!
Some apps are no longer able to start (mostly games for my kids).
    Has anyone an idea?

Have you contacted Honda? Is there a firmware update for the car system?
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Issues since iOS 8.3

Hi Everyone - has anyone else had to endure the following since iOS 8.3?
    iPhone 5
    1) Since the update, my iPhone 5 sometimes tries a reboot mid charge but locks up and I have to hold down the home and sleep button to coax it back into life.
    2) Since the update, I cannot connect my iPhone 5 to my laptop without the a warning from the laptop about USB power surge meaning I cannot charge or sync to/from the laptop.
    iPad Mini
    1) Random rebooting
    2) Freezing
The iPad issues are a tad frustrating but live-with-able. The phone issue is a stress, particularly the inability to charge/sync, as I use the camera for work and I used to rely on charging the phone on the move with the laptop if I was working offsite. Wish I could turn the clock back and not update or hope that 8.3.1 appears very quickly and the problems are chalked off. I don't see why I need to purchase a powerpack for charging on the go when it worked perfectly until this iOS update.

My iPhone 6 is acting weird on charging. It started when using an external power battery. No charging with it. Then I tried the Apple charger and cable. No way. Battery went off. iPhone shut down. I tried a recovery. It seemed all was ok again. After hours restoring my backup. Then I tried another external battery. Again the same situation. So it seems that Apple did some software barriers to avoid third party batteries.
Before ios 8.3 at least there was a warning about not supported chargers. Now it the worst situation, as one has to recover the whole system.

  • ICal/Google sync issues since iOS 8.2 update

Since the update to iOS 8.2 a few days ago, iCal on my iPhone 5s is not syncing with my Google Calendar.  I have already reset the 2 step verification on my Google calendar permissions, checked to make sure events are in the Google calendar and not in the iPhone calendar, and checked settings to make sure the Google calendar is selected.  The only thing I have not tried (because I'm worried that changes I made prior to realizing thisi was an issue would be lost) is deleting my Google account from the iPhone and reconnecting.  Is that really my only remaining option?  I'm stumped.

I'm facing the same issue on iOS 8.2 iPhone6. iCal is not syncing on the iPhone. It does, however, sync from Yosemite to iCloud.com.

  • My iPad 2 has suffered performance issues since iOS 8, any tips on how to alleviate or fix issues?

I bought an iPad 2 at launch and have been a happy customer for the last 3 years. Unfortunately since iOS 8 my iPad 2 has slowed down considerably and sometimes doesn't even play videos. I'm sad to say this but it's pretty much become a paper weight. It's frustrating as I was expecting to be able to surf the web for the next few years. however, I am beginning to feel like Im going to be forced to upgrade to a newer model just to maintain the same performance my iPad 2 had when I first bought it 3 years ago. I feel that it's ludicrous to expect to have to upgrade every couple of years just to surf the web.
Are there any tips to improve iPad 2 performance? Should I roll back the update(Apple doesnt recommend this but it's an option?) should I just wait for Apple to optimise iOS 8 for older hardware?
    regards,
    Dylan

    Hi ..
There's no need to upgrade. Try resetting ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
And try the tips mentioned here >  5 Tips to Speed Up Your iPad  (skip number one)
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Iphone 5 touchscreen issue with iOS 7 update

I downloaded the upgrade the day it came out and there were no issues for the first few days. Then about a week later my touchscreen started wigging out. I would not even touch the screen and letters no where near where my finger was would start being typed into the box. I could not select anything on the screen cause it would scroll and select other things, and I was having issues with closing out the apps.
I am averaging 3-5 hard reboots a day and the soft reboots don't seem to have any effect on it.
When I do the hard reboots, it will work for just a few min and then do the same as before.
I restored the phone back to factory settings and redownloaded the phone and I didnt think that I was going to get the password in for the apple ID cause it was doing the same as before. No dropping or wetting of the phone has occurred. I was also able to update to the 7.0.2 and this did nothing.
Anyone have any suggestions or having the same problems?

I have these issues, on both my iphone 5 and ipad using ios7.0.2 (and all apps have been updated also. I am actually amazed that this forum is not full of complaints about this, such are the number of issues and regularity of their occurrence! I have spoken to friends who also experience freezing, crashing and an erratic touchscreen since updating to ios 7.
The issues (on both iphone 5 and ipad) can be summarised as follows: 1- touchscreen behaves erratically, keyboard use and scrolling in pages no longer as easy as before. 2- apps crash, regularly, particularly mail and calendar. I have linked both mail and calendar to office 365 and wonder if this is anything to do with it?  Have to close and restart the app in order to resolve. 3- the whole os crashes & freezes requiring a hard reboot.
I wish I could reinstall the previous os!

  • Video app usage issues since ios 8 update

I use my iPad Air (as well as iPad mini, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6) to watch videos I have purchased through iTunes, streaming them. They used to download onto the device as I watched them so I could delete them. Since the update, I am able to watch these movies/TV shows, but they do not download to my device. They are, however, taking up space in "usage," though I cannot get to them to delete. (It is showing I have videos in Settings > General > About. But when I go to Settings > General > Usage, there are no videos showing.) I have to download them individually to the device in order to then delete them.
I have contacted support numerous times, even being instructed to completely resetting the device THREE times. They have transferred me numerous times to different "Supervisors" only to get more run around. I have spoken to people on the phone, being told an engineer would contact me. That was nearly a week ago, and NO ONE has contacted me.
The issue seems to be with streaming my iTunes content since the update. I don't know what else to do.

• RemoteNotifier issue since  iOS 64-bit Support feature

    Hi,
I have a problem with my push notifications in my app since I updated my Air 16 compiler for support IOS 64-bit.
The event RemoteNotificationEvent.TOKEN is not called anymore after the subscribe(subscribeOptions).
If I re-switch to Air 16 compiler before IOS 64-bit, it's work fine, so it's not a IOS certificate problem.
Every one have this problem ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thanks for reporting the issue. We have been able to reproduce the issue and are currently working on fixing the same.

  • Iphone 5s touchscreen issue after IOS 8.0.2

    Hi All,
I've been having an iPhone 5s for a year and ever since i've updated to IOS 8.0.2. My iPhone touch screen has became unresponsive. It happens after i unlock my phone and it just gets unresponsive. It could happen after a few seconds of usage of any app or just messaging. It has become really frustrating. The only way I could get it back on working was to lock and unlock my phone.
I've tried restarting my iPhone, and ask restoring my phone with a new Set up. But the same issue arises.
The only thing i have not tried was to check if there was some connectivity issue inside the phone. My warranty was over end of september and I do not wish to pay for a replacement fee as It be a better option to get a new one.
    My phone specs:
    Iphone 5s 64GB Silver.
    IOS 8.0.2
    Memory Used35.3 GB

I Hope there's an fix for this. And hopefully it's the software problems.

  • Microphone issue since ios 5.1 upgrade

    hi all,
my iphone worked perfectly on ios 5.0.1.
since i have upgraded something has happened with the microphone which means the only way i can get anyone to hear me is to talk directly into the microphone.
if i hold it to my ear nobody can hear me.
anyone else have this issue, and what is the fix?

    Do you have a question?

  • Call connection issues since iOS 8.1 update

Ever since the iOS 8 update on mine & wife's iPhones (5s & 5c) we have had nothing but issues with receiving various phone calls, even with the newer updates with bif fixes etc the problem persists. We have tried to remedy it by turning off the 4g option as we heard this was a solution but no change. Same with wifi also. It's not a network problem as we have a very good signal. Like I said we have had this problem from the moment iOS 8 arrived, we're now on iOS 8.1, still no change. Does anyone have a clue to fix this?

Same issue here, both my boyfriend and I updated our iPads and iPhones to 8.1, now FT crashes constantly, when we try to FT from iPhone to iPad we just get "connecting" and nothing happens. If we do iPhone wifi to iPhone cellular we get same "connecting" problem. If we do iPhone to iPhone and enable cellular it connects. When we do iPad wifi to iPad wifi it connects but then crashes constantly. I have tried ft with others who have not done the updates and it works fine Using the same Internet connection. We have switched to skype to video chat and it works just fine, so it can't be an Internet issue.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • IPad 2 touchscreen unresponsive since iOS 7 update.  Is there a fix to this?

I recently updated my iPad 2 to the iOS 7.  It ran fairly smoothely for about a week with the exception of a few minor bugs here and there.  But Thursday night, the touchscreen simply became unresponsive.  There was no warning, I was just typing a reply to a comment on my Facebook wall, and it suddenly stopped working.  The Home button, power button, volume, and screen rotation lock switch all still work normally.  But otherwise, my iPad is now a nice-looking brick.  I found that if I plug in earphones that have the controls on the cord, I can turn my music on and off, but I cannot change songs.
I have troubleshooted this issue and found all the so-called solutions will not work for me.  I do not have Siri, a hard restart won't work (tried that four times), I cannot back up my iPad to my computer because it requires me to unlock the passcode (which I can't because my touchscreen is unresponsive), and I cannot turn off my Find my iPad app to restore my iPad to a previous backup (which again requires my touchscreen to work).
Please, I am in the middle of Final Exams and my notes are on the iPad.  I need them to study.  At this point I would not mind doing a full factory restart if that's what was required for my iPad to work again.  But I'm not sure I can due to my touchscreen being unresponsive.  Please at least give me some suggestions.  I'm desperate here.

If your touch screen isn't working you can't disable find my iPad to do a full restore so this is what worked for me
Try logging into iCloud on another device then go to find my iPad , erase device and then set up as a new device (not a restore backup ) This worked for me and saved taking it to the shop for repairs
       Worth a try
           Good luck

  • Very Strange Touchscreen Issue

I recieved and activated my new 8GB iPhone about two days ago and it worked great up until just a few hours ago. I am experiencing the known issue of the bottom 1/2 inch or so of the touchscreen not responding to my touch, which in turn is affecting a lot of main elements of the phone such as SMS, e-mail, iPod, etc. Among that issue, I also encountered a very strange occurrence whilst I was testing the 'dead zone' on my iPhone: Certain sections of the dead zone work if I hover my finger about 2 -3 centimeters from the screen. It is a very strange thing but true, lol. I can even capture video footage of this if it's necessary.
Since I bought my iPhone from an AT&T store, should I return it to them for a new one on the spot or should I do it through Apple? I hope it doesn't come down to the latter since I do not live anywhere near an Apple Store (New Orleans, LA) and I just switched from T-Mobile to AT&T so I'd really hate to purchase a cheap temporary phone while my iPhone is being replaced/fixed.
Edit: Have a Merry Christmas, everyone!
    Message was edited by: Fiyerstorm

I just talked to Apple Support and they are going to repair it for me, it's just I need to wait til Friday since I am broke from Christmas! Once I get paid, then I can dish out the 30 dollars to get a rental iPhone to hold me over. The restore temporarily fixed the touchscreen issue since it happened again hours later.
Also, nobody I know who would have a spare AT&T phone doesn't come to mind so I can't just borrow a phone and start the repair process now, but the wait isn't too bad. At least they do not limit the iPhone rental to just physical Apple Store customers!
Thanks for the help, folks. :V

  • Is there an update to iOS 6? I've been having several technical issues since the upgrade. Uncontrolled zoom of the entire screen, Siri taking 25 seconds to respond and not recognizing names, locking up of the phone. All requiring a reset.
