  • Where are the Touch Screen Drivers for HP Pavilion TouchSmart Notebook PC

I have a HP Pavilion 15-n210dx TouchSmart Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
Need the Touch Screen Drivers, where are they?
    This question was solved.

Thank you for your quick response.
None of the offerred solutions work, please see screen captures.
First Screen Capture: Computer does not recognize that a TouchScreen is an active device. [This indicates a driver is damaged and/or missing]
Second Screen Capture: There are no Tablet PC Settings available. [This confirms that the driver is missing]
HP needs to upload TouchScreen Drivers to its' support downloads immediately.

  • Yoga 13 touch screen stopped working after update KB3000850, please help!

Hi, my Yoga 13 touch screen has been working fine until yesterday. The laptop came with Windows 8, and last year I upgraded to Windows 8.1 without issue. Yesterday, I installed optional update KB3000850 from Windows Update, and immediately the touch screen stopped working. I have tried the following methods, all without success:
    * Uninstall KB3000850 from Windows Update
    * Use Windows Restore to restore to the point before yesterday
    * Re-install Intel Chipset Driver from Lenovo official driver page
    * In Device Manager, uncheck all the "allow system to turn off to save power" options for the USB input devices under Human Interface Devices then restart
    * Two-button shutdown and restart
    * Install Lenovo Driver Manager and let it check for new drivers
    * Download Cando multi touch panel driver (Note: I could not install the driver because all I got was a .cab file which does not allow me to install)
As of now my touch screen is still not working. Computer Information page from Settings shows that there is no touch or pen device for my screen.
Can anybody help me with this? Thanks!

Very true, this has been a known problem since the first day Lenovo released the Yoga 13.
I need to send Lenovo a bill for my time spent rebooting.  So far i am on my 8th reboot.  In the past, around 5 reboots after winddows update would work.  This time... who knows.
Of course it always happens when you have a deadline.
Please post back if you have found a better soultion than system restore.
Thanks for posting this issue.  More users need to bring this to Lenovo's attention.

  • IPad freezes after iOS 7 update, touch screen often unresponsive ... Please

Apple support - please post in plain English the exact steps you'd like customers to take to fix this.  Simply doing a reset - pushing the round button and on/off button and holding down does not work.   I've done this about. 20 times.  Where do you go to do a factory reset?  it sounds like a lot of people are having issues as the first open genius appt bar is Thursday in Dallas.

    Hello L8T,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
For your first 2 questions I recommend the same thing. Force quit all the apps that are running:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
    Then restart the iPad:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
As for the icons and background movement, that is called the parallax effect, and can be turned off by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.
This article will give you more info on that:

  • Windows 10 has broken my touch screen

Ever since the upgrade to Windows 10 the option to use touch on my TouchSmart 300-1115uk has disappeared. I have used the Device Manager to locate and uninstall what I believe to be all of the HID Touch Drivers in an attempt to force the PC to download the latest ones on reboot, but this hasn't fixed the issue. I'm aware that in the Control Panel settings, under the Pen and Touch section there is supposed to be a checkbox to enable the use of a finger as a touch device. Since the upgrade to Windows 10, this checkbox no longer displays. I had suspected that perhaps the touch screen drivers weren't even installed along with the new OS, so I've tried downloading the Windows 7 version of the drivers from your website only to be told by Windows that all downloads from HP are blocked. I know your support message states that driver updates are available from the update panel in Windows 10, but I've checked every day since the OS was installed and there hasn't been one for the touch screen. Hopefully somebody else is having this same problem, because I've searched everywhere and haven't managed to find a smiliar complaint.

Hi Guys Most of my Touchscreen capability has now returned - hooray! This happened  after me persisting further with a few fixes on the HP Troubleshooting 'Touchscreen' tab for Windows 8 The one that worked for me was to go into Control Panel/Device Manager/Human Interface Devices - and to 'uninstall' the HID named driver that sits within Human Interface Devices  (can apparently have a few name variations but starts with HID). You then restart. I did this a few times and the PC automatically 'kick-started' the HID driver back again (I didn't have to re-install it - the notebook performed this function itself) I spoke to a few tech mates who reckoned a touchscreen driver uninstall would force my notebook to reinstall itself also - paricularly as this is a Windows 8/8.1 upgrade to Windows 10 whereby the two versions share a lot of common features 'under the bonnet' unlike Windows Vista and XP. So - phew! Hope this helps some other folks whose system will maybe respond in the same way...? Else it's playing a waiting game for HP or Windows Updates to apply a fix - Or do a roll-back/uninstall Windows 10 GOOD LUCK! PS I had to get a refund from a 'Just Ask' forum expert 'cos she was simply suggesting stuff I'd already covered through google and forums - this shows me how valuable communicating with each other can be - and that a lot of the time there's an easy fix out there - that we can find and apply ourselves (fingers and toes crossed!). I'm no tech expert - but to all those frustrated folks out there - 'you are not alone.' Hoping this gets sorted for everyone...'til the next time!

  • How can I draw using the Brush tool and a touch screen?

I need to be able to use the touch screen on my Lenovo Yoga (running Windows 8) to draw using the Brush tool in Photoshop CS6. I'm able to do that in other programs, including Microsoft OneNote and Paint. For some reason, Photoshop will only interpret touching and dragging on the screen as an attempt to pan or scroll, even when the Brush tool is selected. I bought Photoshop - and it isn't cheap - specifically in order to draw using the touch screen, which I need to be able to do for my job. Is there some driver I can download to fix this problem, or some obscure setting I can change?
I would also like to note that Adobe's technical support line exhibits a degree of infuriating unreachability equalled only by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. When I called to ask for help with this problem, I was told the expected wait time was between 10 and 14 minutes. After waiting for 50 minutes, I gave up in disgust. Adobe's products are powerful, but what passes for customer service is an utter disgrace.

There's gotta be a way but I just use gimp for touch drawing, save it off as a png, edit in ps or ai.

  • Touch Screen's

Warning to anyone purchasing a touch screen laptop from Lenovo.
The cost of replacing a touch screen will cost more than the original cost of the laptop, Lenovo obviously have issues with parts.

now i know the cause of my s10-3t's issue with its touch screen. everytime i connect to a network using a lan cable, the screen sensitivity is affected. pressing it once produces 2 to 3 consecutive presses. so it affects the application i am using. sometimes, my only intention is to click the screen once, but instead, the application thinks i am double-clicking the screen. has anyone encountered the same problem?
    thanks for any reply.

  • Replacement non touch screen for Pavillion TS 15-B103AU

He, we  have a HP Pavillion TS 15-B103AU with a cracked screen. IS there a DIY replacement screen I can get to replace it? I"m an IT professional myself so am confident doing the work, also I'd prefer a non touchscreen as we never really used the functionality anyway and I know a non touch screen would be a lot cheaper

    Hi,
Please check part # on the second manual of the following link:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&document=&product=5358508
The manual also shows you how to replace screen (page #60).

  • Windows 10 Touch Screen not working?

Mine works partially. Control Panel>>Systems says I have no pen or touch screen. Touching the screen works just as if I were using the mouse. Instead of scrolling through the start menu, for example, scrolling with my fingers causes the tiles to relocate. This is what would happen if MS wrote only an onClick() function where they should have had onClick() and onTouch(). Surely they're not that incompetent. Well...

Hi I had the same problem and found the best solution for the computer. Although hp always recomends that you have the newest updates to keep your computer running, one oh hp's newest touch screen drivers is not compatible with windows 10. So your best bet at getting your multi-touch compatibility working on your touch screen again is to use the previous driver. So these are the steps that helped me solve this issue. Step 1: Press the windows start button + the "x" keyStep 2: Select "Device Manager" from the list of optionsStep 3: Click the drop down menu for "Mice and other pointing devices"Step 4: If you have 2 drivers there then you have found the correct driver (If there is only one I will include instructions on how to find the correct driver for your computer)Step 5: Select your touch screen driver from within "Mice and other pointing devices" and double click on it to bring up the advanced optionsStep 6: Click on the "Driver" tab from within that newly opened windowStep 7: Click "Roll Back Driver"(That should have reset to the last touch screen driver your computer had. If you have removed the driver that I had you should now only have one driver in the "Mice and other pointing devices" drop down menu and you should have a few new drivers in the "Human Interface Devices" drop down menu)Step 8: Restart your device so that the computer can configure the changes in driversIf all goes well your touch screen should work like new again Now for those who had a single driver in the "Mouse and pointing devices" drop down menu~Complete steps one and two like you had in your first attemptStep 3: Click the drop down for "Human interface Devices"Step 4 : Look for the driver labeled "HID-compliant touch screen"Step 5: Select the driver by double clicking on itStep 6: Click on the "Driver" tabStep 7: Click "Roll back Driver"If the device was successfully rolled back go ahead and restart your device to let windows configure the device changes. If worked like it was supposed to your touch screen should work the way you want it.

  • Lenovo Edge 15 Touch Screen Issues

Hello, I just three days ago bought a brand-new Edge 15 laptop, about which I'm very excited, and while I'm not usually the kind of person who likes touch screens on his laptops I want it to work since I know it comes with it! When I first opened it, the touchscreen worked perfectly fine, but as soon as I installed the first round of Windows updates (I believe 8->8.1?) it suddenly stopped working. I installed the second round of updates and it worked for a hot second but now it doesn't work again. If I pull up the device manager, no touchscreen appears under "Human Interface Devices" but a device does appear under "USB Controllers" labeled "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" I can't for the life of me find the drivers for the Edge 15 touchscreen on the Lenovo support website and nothing I'm finding for any other laptop touchscreen problems appears to be helping. Anyone have any help? Has anyone seen this before? Where's the incompatability between Windows 8.1 and my new touchscreen? Why is the device descriptor request failing? I only just bought the laptop! Thanks!

Alright... it spontaneously was working for about 20 minutes just now. Don't know what changed, and I don't know why it stopped working again. O_o

  • Can no longer install drivers and touch screen not working anymore

I have the HP 520-1130ea all in one PC. Its a touchscreen. I have Windows 7 home premiun 64 bit operating system.
it has been working fine for the last two years and on Friday 11th april, i connected my android tablet (samsung Galaxy tab 7.0) to my pc and it could not install the drivers so my PC could not see the tablet.  Last week this worked ok. I attach my tablet to my pc using a USB cable and transfer files by usb transfer. I dont use any software at all.
I have tried to reinstall the drivers for the android tablet and i get the error code that the drivers were found but they cant be installed. Access denied.
I have also tried to restore my pc to the last time everything worked ok which was just a week before the problem started, but the restore has failed on 4 occassions.
I have now deleted all updates on my PC from last week and i think I have deleted something or failed to allow something to isntall (a box popped up when i restarted the computer after the update delete which I ignored)
No my touch screen no longer works.
I plugged in an external hard drive to back up my computer and I also could not install the drivers for that too. this just happened today.
My printer is connected to my PC and that still works ok.
I have been battling with this for 4 days now and ploughed the internet for solutions and no hope in sight!
    I have also tried:
    1. installing optional updates. no luck there. also some of the updates failed
    2. giving myself full control on the system 32 folder in windows.
I am the administrator on the PC.
    HELP PLS!!!

    Hi compnewbie,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you very much for your thorough post and detailed steps! I see that you are not being able to install drivers, and I would be happy to assist you!
The first suggestion I will make is to boot your computer in Safe Mode. To do this, please follow this document on Windows 7 Safe Mode. No extra software will be loaded, which will make this driver issue easier to troubleshoot. In Safe Mode, try to connect your external drive.
If you still cannot connect your external drive (or any other USB device), I recommend following this resource on Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7). This should help diagnose any potential hardware problems with the computer.
If you are not able to detect any hardware problems on your computer, please follow this document on Restore files from a backup.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I will diligently follow up with you!
    Best regards

  • Lenovo B50-30 AIO touch screen stop working

I bought my Lenovo B50-30 AIO touch screen last year and approximately after 3- 4 months of use the touch screen capability has stopped working.. Contacted customer service but they are unable to help and they told us thay they will send someone to fix it but no call to schedule this visit has ever been received at all.. Can anyone help?

    hi wileecoyote,
    Welcome to the Forums.
    Can you try the following:
1.. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the device manager, click View > Show Hidden Devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
        - Sample image
When finished, reboot the system and open system properties to determine if the OS is detecting the touch capability.
       - Link to picture (Touchscreen not detected, proceed to Step 2)
       - Link to picture (Touchscreen is detected)
    2. Restart the machine and tap F2 to boot into the System Recovery options. On the menu, try to touch an item but don't proceed in doing the system recovery -- this is to check if the digitizer (the hardware part that enables touchscreen functionality) is working.
        - If the Touchscreen is working, boot back into Windows and backup important files then prooceed with the System Recovery.
        - If the Touchscreen is still not working even in the System Recovery menu then it's likely that the digitizer is faulty. Since you already called tech. support, I would recommend doing a follow-up on the repair ticket (your case number#) or send me a private message regarding the machine serial number and case # for me to check.

  • HP Envy Touch Screen / Touchscreen dead after Windows 10 install

Tonight I upgraded from Windows 8 whereby my touchscreen worked perfectly to Windows 10 whereby my touchscreen on my HP Envy laptop is totally non-responsive. Is there a fix for this problem? Does HP have a new driver or software that will fix this problem? Is this a Microsoft problem that we have to wait until and update? I have read where others have experienced the same. I cannot imagine Microsoft not supporting touch screens since it is required in tablets, phones and many cross over laptops and computer monitors these days. Please help

Update. The Edge Browser did not work until after several shutdowns and restarts over a couple of days. It was initially "not responding." Now it is working and the touchscreen capability is working - on the Edge browser. The touchscreen capability is not working in the Chrome browser but all other functionality is.
