Touchsmart IQ542 S-video input capability as Wii input

Can anyone offer any information on the usability of the S-Video input on the IQ542 with a composite video source (Wii for example) and composite to s-video converter ? Have heard of really poor video quality on PC-TV cards when using composite sources. [Would love to take the 600-1050 or later but cannot push the budget so far]

An S-vid to composite adapter works just fine, but the poor quality you're referring to is that ALL s-vid or composite input is at the lower end of standard def.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement DVD drive for my Touchsmart IQ542? The current drive has decided that it really likes the DVD that is currently in it and won't spit it out, I suspect that this problem will only get worse so now is probably a good time to replace the drive.
Ideally I would like to put a Blu-ray drive in but if that's not possible a replacement for what is already in there would be fine.

It appears that no driver past XP has been released for this device. Please read this Microsoft Community Forum thread on this subject for a possible resolution to your issue. Also note that the Microsoft Update Catalog only lists driver for Windows XP.

Delete the EventStoreDb.data file (its somewhere in your logical host) and restart the logical host.

Component has not input columns and/or input columns have invalid id when creating package programmatically

I am developing an ETL tool which has to create SSIS packages dynamically (and later execute them without being edited in Data Tools). One of my proto type scenarios is a simple data flow from a flat file to a flat file - without anything in between.
However there is a problem with the columns of the flat file destination - it says it doesn't have any.
Saving the package to XML and opening the destination component in the advanced editor (tab "Input and Output Properties") really shows that are no input columns defined. One click on the tab "Column Mappings" however solves the
problem. The columns and the mapping are generated, the package can run.
I already tried to place "ReinitializeMetaData()" calls nearly anywhere in the code, for both components, unfortunately without success:

The actual error during validation is (When the line for column mapping in the code below is commented out):

In this case I am wondering why Data Tools tell me that there are no input columns yet I can iterate over them - they just don't have a valid ID (0x8000004B / -2147483573) which is then causing the 0xC020201B.

How can I make the destination component recognize the columns programmatically, as when I click on the "Column Mappings" tab of the advanced editor of the component in Data Tools?

Input Quantity Variance and Input Price Variance for Production Order

I am running variance program KKS2 for calculating variance of production order. for Activity variances are coming under input price variance and input quantity varinace but for material the variances is now shown separately for quantity and price rather it is shown as variances total amount. Can someone help me in know why material quanitty variance and price variance not shown separately

Protect input template exclude the input columns

Hi All,
I am having some hidden formulas and the Evdre in the template, i dont want to allow the user to change that one.
I want to protect the input template, i have tried in excel (Tools->Protection) using password to protect the template.
After its protected even its not allowing to input the values in input columns.I have tried the hide option.If the expand the template , hidden rows are unhidden by default.
Any idea please share.thanks in advance.

Hi Venkii,
You need to make sure that the cells, which requires input, should not be locked. For this right click on the cells, go to format and go to the protection tab. Make these cells unlocked. Only the input required cells will be unlocked and the others will be locked. Once this is done, you can go ahead and lock the sheet.

anyone knows how to fix it?

This error is occurring because you have a value in your source column that is not valid for your column in the destination.
Some possible examples:
You're trying to insert a 10 character value into an 8 character field.
You're trying to insert a value larger than 127 into a tinyini field.
You're trying to insert the value 6.4578 into a decimal(5,1) field.
SSIS is governed by metadata, and it expects that you've set up your inputs and outputs properly such that the acceptable values for both are within the same range.

Difficulty getting Sound input configure and sound input to read more than 2 channels

I need multichannel audio input for my project. I can't seem to read more than 2 channels of my audio interface.
The interface Im using is an Alesis Multimix8 USB 2 mixer and and audio interface. This supports 10 channels in and 2 out. With other software I can read all input channels simultaneously without any difficulty. When I specify the sound input configure and sound input read, to read more than 2 channels any extra channel is a blank signal. Im using Labview 8.5 here.

Today, inexplicably, while recording routine MIDI overdubs on a cue, I suddenly lost MIDI thru from my master keyboard thru Logic to my MIDI racks. MIDI tracks played fine, but no MIDI thruput.
Tested the MIDI interfaces, AMS, rebooted the computer and the interfaces, all the usual stuff. Couldn't find any reason why I suddenly lost thruput.
It was only because I was at my wit's end that I decided to look at the Clicks and Ports Layer in the Environment to see if anything "somehow" got weird. And sure enough... the cable between the Physical Input and the Sequencer Input had disappeared. Gone. Vanished. Deleted.
How this could have happened without my deliberately going into the Environment, selecting the Clicks and Ports Layer and purposely deleting the cable connection is totally beyond me. This has got to be one of the weirdest behaviors I've seen. And just remember everyone, "weird" is an anagram for "wired" which, unfortunately, proved not to be the case.
Anyone else ever have this happen? Any ideas as to what might have caused this?

I've thought along these lines too, surmising that: items (or data) which were selected/highlighted in various windows at various times were somehow still subject to such actions as Delete, Cut, or Clear, despite the fact that those windows were currently closed. Now, I rarely (closer to "never") have need to visit the Clicks/Ports layer of the Environment, let alone tinker with the connection between phys input and seq input such that that cable might ever remain in a "selected" or "highlighted" state to begin with.
But in an effort to troubleshoot the missing cable scenario according to this theory, I deliberately highlighted the cable, closed that window, and continued working. I was hoping that at some point during normal editing operations I might lose my MIDI thruput again (because it got cut/deleted/cleared in association with a cut/delete/clear operation of another event or object) and then backtrack through the Undo History hoping to discover what operation caused it.
Well, 1.5 days later, after intensive editing of the same sequence (which ended up becoming quite complex) the cable stayed intact! So to a certain extent I think perhaps my theory is wrong, but I'm keeping an open mind.
But something valuable came out of this... considering LPH/David's information, I think that from now on I'm going to eliminate the physical input and sequencer input objects from my environment; they've proven to be a liability. And it's easy enough to add them to a song in the event I want to do some MIDI processing on Logic's input side.
I'd like to respond to your thoughts on floating windows in a separate post.

Hi Ruban,
The main difference between the two is in lsmw we can view the code status at any time just by coming to prvious steps, but whereas in batch input method unless the recording is finished we cant view the code.
second diff is tht we need to do lot of coding in batch inptu whereas here in lsmw we need not do much coding and mapping to data.
third diff is that batch input is both inbound and outbound where as lsmw is only inbound.
