TOUGH ONE: How to get Adobe 9 ext PDF submission to auto populate a database??

Have a close friend and coworker who's using Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
What he's trying to do, is create a form with certain fields (checkboxes, text fields, etc.) that he wants to send out to a few hundred clients and have them fill in updated information (the clients will only have Reader for the most part), and then instead of them saving the form and sending it back to him (means he has to manually enter the data they filled in into an Excel spreadsheet), he wants to have them be able to click 'submit' (or submit it somehow), and it AUTOMATICALLY populate the Excel spreadsheet, so he doesn't have to manually handle each one of the 300 or so that are going to be submitted back to him.
Apparently there's a way to make this work - anyone have any idea?

I looked at Adobe.com and even the professional version only claims to convert TO PDF. not the other way.
But I am having a similar problem - have used a dataset to automatically collect data. When I export as a CSV it gets the data wrong although all the rows and columns are there, it's misplaced from where it should be (for example, 5 columns with numeric data 4 4 2 3 1 might export to excel as 0 0 3 4 3) Very strange (and unacceptable!). I can't get it to export to xls at all generates an error that the file can't be read when I try to open it.
Suggestions? Adobe, what's the story here ...

I too am looking into this issue for someone at my work and hoping someone can provide a resolution for this nuisance.
It is correct that that Auto Portrait/Landscape is usually set to default for Adobe Reader XI. One day, Portrait was randomly switched as the default setting. Granted the setting could be set back to Auto on a per file basis, this slowed down the time to mass print several landscape reports. The problem only occurred under one Windows account profile while other user accounts defaulted to Auto as expected. Uninstalling the software, clearing out all Adobe traces from Programs/Program Data/Application Data/Registry, and reinstalling the software did not make any difference. All printer preferences/configurations were the same amongst the different user accounts.
While it would sound like rebuilding that one person's profile would be the final solution, it wouldn't be ideal to reconfigure the several remote connections with banks and hospitals (we're an anesthesia billing company) on a new profile for what might be a simple, yet elusive fix to this print setting. I have noticed other posts on other sites mention this issue, but no resolutions have been provided yet. I'm sure part of what makes this difficult to resolve is the inability to replicate this issue elsewhere.

Some forms that my company uses was created in Adobe version 8. Some employees using adobe pro 6 ignored the message that states "The forms being used were created in a later version of adobe and you need to upgrade to a later version of adobe" and still went ahead and edited the forms with the adobe pro 6.
Now that everyone is on adobe pro 8 the forms are all showing up blank.

Chances are they did not actually save the entries in AA6. When you open an AA8 document in AA6, you can not edit the document. That may be the issue, not that the made changes (not realizing they were not changed). This could have been avoided if the AA8 folks had saved the form in an AA6 compatible way (Reduce File Size or PDF Optimizer). However, some of the functionality might have been lost with the backward save.
Assuming you still have AA6 on some machine, try to read them and see if the stuff is there that you are talking about. I doubt that the changes are there.

I am running Adobe CC on a Windows 7 machine, 64bit. The machine has registry software (PC Mechanic) and McAfee antivirus. I have 8 gigs of RAM and a dual core CPU. When I run Adobe, I tend to also have a web browser like Opera running in the background. Windows is used exclusively for Adobe software. I have frequent issues with Adobe programs, like Dreamweaver or Photoshop not being able to launch. Or getting errors like "internal signature error". I have called Adobe technical support, who logged onto my computer several times, but their technicians are consistently stumped. Collegues suggested I simply uninstall and reinstall the software. That worked at first, now the programs will no longer launch---even if reinstalled.
Adobe seems unable (or perhaps just unwilling to help). It is suggested that Adobe simply cannot work on the Windows operating system. Rather, the programs are made for MAC computers, not Windows.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to get Adobe CC to run on Windows 7?

I am running Adobe CC products on a Windows 7 64-bit system too. I also use McAfee anti-virus software as well.
For troubleshooting I would try first shutting down everything running in the background not required by right-clicking on the icons in the system tray and choosing quit or exit.
When launching the Adobe apps try right clicking on the icons and choosing Run As Administrator and see if that makes any difference

No tricks, nothing special, just clicked the download link, installed it, went to put locker and started wtaching "TED". Just like I do on my mac.

I agree cwclark, I was going to ask the exact same thing, and yes, the only way to 'restart' the auto play is to reload the page which is frustrating to say the least. Every other site I've seen with this kind of 'auto-play' slide show still auto-plays even after clicking the 'next' or 'previous' buttons. Adobe, you need to get a fix for this ASAP

Hello,
If you are looking for file download or view count then event handler will not work. You need to enable the analytic report to your site. Once you enable it then you can see the report within a browser or you can also create custom webpart to show count
of specific file.
