Tour de flex down. Reports "no internet connection"

7/2/2014: Tour de Flex: Tour de Flex | Adobe Developer Connection does not seem to be be working. Comes up with the following message:
"Tour de Flex is OFFLINE
If you are seeing this, Tour de Flex has not detected an internet connection and you are offline. Most of the AIR samples will work offline but many other samples require an internet connection."
Most examples don't work in this state. My internet connection is fine (using it now to enter this post). This has been going on for the last month. Before that it worked. I get the same result on all my machines. It appears that Adobe has turned off the server component. If this is the case.. that's bad for developers. Tour de Flex was the most useful tool around to help build Flex proficiency. The Apache Flex site examples are utterly dismal and useless. There is no substitute that I've been able to find for Tour de Flex.
Can anyone tell me what the status is of this tool? Is Apache taking it over? Why would Adobe take it down before it's migrated?

Actually, yeah, my predecessor explained that he was running DHCP on the Time Capsule instead of the Netgear because he hadn't needed DHCP prior to the adding of a WiFi point (all other nodes were on Ethernet), so it had always been turned off on the Netgear. But your suggestion makes a lot more sense, of course, so I've put the Time Capsule into bridge mode as well and started the DHCP server on the Netgear. Seems to be working with my iPhone, though that was always working okay. I won't have access to the laptop to test it until later this afternoon, but I have high hopes.
Thank you!

  • Computers connecting to internet via time capsule are reporting no internet connectivity.  PC is reporting default gateway has changed.  How to I correct this?

Am having trouble with maintaining a stable wireless network via the Time Capsule.  Am running 1 Mac and 3 PC on a Time Capsule wireless in bridge mode connected to a Verizon wireless router.  Verizon wireless is turned off and the Time Capsule seems to be staying connected to the Verizon router.  When any of the connected computerss goes to stanby, they often report the internet is no longer available.  The PCs say the default gateway has changed ans the Mac simply reports the network parameters have changed.  What do I need to do to the Time Capsule to stabilize the wireless network?

It is unlikely that the gateway changes.. but anything is possible.. sorry I am not in the US.. is your service adsl or cable?? What sort of lease time does the public IP have? Some cable companies now rotate then on the hour I noticed.. others on about 3months.. but most it is one day.
Track it yourself.. see what gateway address the TC gets and if it is rotating with the IP.
If your client computers are running Mountain Lion.. the plain fact is, they are not particularly stable.
Wireless is worst.. ethernet tends to be ok.. but for instance Laptops updated to Mountain Lion can be pretty flakey.. with the TC.. and it is the combo that is more the issue. People report improvement with clean install of ML. BUT there is still a bug there that causes the ML to be less than fantastic.
I experience it occasionally even with a dlink wireless router.. after a wake from sleep.. the network will drop out and need to be manually connected back.. I have to admit I expect no better from Mountain Lion. I could load Snow Leopard on it and it would drop once every blue moon.. but I got the laptop with ML so I live with it.. !!

  • WRVS4400N slowing down my 100Mb internet connection

    Hi,
I have a Cisco WRVS4400N on the latest firmware and I have just had my Virgin internet connection upgraded to the 100Mb. Once i thought it was upgraded i checked with a broadband speed test and it came back as 15Mb download and 5Mb upload. Before i rang Virgin i thought i'd check with a direct connection from my pc straight to the modem. Ran the speed test and it came back as 100Mb download and 5Mb upload. I thought the best thing to do is restore my settings back to factory and its still the same. Just wondering if anyone can assist?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Simon,
Thanks for helping mate. Definitely not testing over the wireless so I'm running the connection over a Cat5e cable, 1Gb auto negotiated connection from the Virgin modem to the router,  then Cat5e through from the router to the pc also 1Gb auto negotiated. No errors over the connection as reported by the router for the WAN port and none for the LAN port. They are the only things connected. I've turned the wireless off so there should be no wireless devices connected, just the pc.
    Cheers again
    Andy

  • "No Internet Connection" via AirPort Extreme bridged to Time Capsule

    Hello,
We have a fairly large and odd home network consisting of a Comcast cable modem connected to a Netgear router, a Time Capsule wired to that one floor down (serving up WiFi and DHCP), and a new AirPort Extreme wired one floor below that, extending the WiFi network of the Time Capsule and set to bridge mode.
On one MacBook Pro (and possibly others, haven't had them available to test yet), trying to connect to WiFi while downstairs (i.e. to the AirPort Extreme) yields a strong wireless connection, but "no Internet connection"; checking via network diagnostics or the Network panel reveals that the MacBook Pro has no IP address. This seems odd, as it happens even if the connection is first made on the 2nd floor to the Time Capsule, where a valid IP is retrieved, and then carried downstairs; even though the same IP address should be valid, the laptop's WiFi menubar icon starts cycling again and eventually shows the "!" and reports no Internet connection.  Checking the Network panel reveals no IP address via DHCP.  However, if I let it sit for a minute or two, the IP address comes back (the same one!) and all is well, at least for a while.
I've tried switching to a manually-assigned static IP as a workaround, and that works perfectly well, but I'd like to get DHCP working properly if I can, for convenience's sake. Is there any reason why I should be having trouble with getting DHCP from the Time Capsule via the AirPort Extreme?

Actually, yeah, my predecessor explained that he was running DHCP on the Time Capsule instead of the Netgear because he hadn't needed DHCP prior to the adding of a WiFi point (all other nodes were on Ethernet), so it had always been turned off on the Netgear. But your suggestion makes a lot more sense, of course, so I've put the Time Capsule into bridge mode as well and started the DHCP server on the Netgear. • Unable to maintain internet connection using wireless router

I posted a bug report with Apple, 7229097. Not sure if anyone has been able to fix this. I tried the suggestions on the board (create location, reboot router, clean install, normal install, delete config etc.) I have narrowed the issue down to my router, which works fine under 10.5.8.
    Summary:
I have trouble maintaining an internet connection using my Dell TrueMobile 1184 Wireless Broadband Router, model wx-6215D. If I connect directly to my cable modem, I have no internet issues. So, it seems the issue is using the Router, both wireless or using RJ45 cable.
    Steps to reproduce:
Connect to my wireless router using Airport or RJ45. Browse to a page using Safari or Firefox. First page usually comes up, but is incomplete. Start using refresh or click on more pages, after 1 - 5 refreshes, clicking on links, you get a notice that you are no longer connected to the internet. If you open terminal and execute "dscacheutil -flushcache" you can get your internet back, but will degrade to no internet after 1 - 5 page refreshes.
    Expected result:
    Internet browsing should be fine
    Actual result:
Internet degrades until browser reports no internet connection.
    Regression:
Go back to 10.5.8 system and no problem exists. Only happens when you upgrade to 10.6 and 10.6.1.
    Notes:
I have tried doing the recommended installation, and erasing the hard drive and installing - in both cases I have the same result. Router works fine for PC and 10.5.8. I have since installed 10.6.1 to a USB drive to do any further testing and would appreciate a patch or a timeline for a patch before I move my system to 10.6.1

I tried adding in the OpenDNS ip 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
It appears that the router is hijacking DNS calls.
Funny thing though, DNS is resoving through the router, .2.1
    nslookup apple.com
;; reply from unexpected source: 192.168.2.1#53, expected 208.67.222.222#53
;; reply from unexpected source: 192.168.2.1#53, expected 208.67.220.220#53
    Server: 192.168.2.1
    Address: 192.168.2.1#53
    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: apple.com
    Address: 17.251.200.70
So, the router is giving up the IP address. Also, even though Safari, Firefox and others report no internet, nslookupk continues to work. The router works, but 10.6.1 doesn't seem to like what it gets from the router. Also, not sure a firmware upgrade is required for the router, if there even is one, because it works with both of my PCs and my Mac running 10.5.8.

  • NM reports incorrect internet status

I have just installed NM5.5.  Had NM5.1.  Both reported intermittent internet connections on a 5 to 15 second interval (at times) when the connection was constant and stable.  I thought, based on tech support reccomendation, that 5.5 install would resolve problem.  It did not.  I have Comcast as ISP-with no known problems.  Any ideas out there?

It's not you. It's Linksys/Cisco. Their servers have been down for the past few days. Who knows when it will be back up. Hang in there.

  • I receive the error, "No Internet Connection" and my Adobe Creative applications are crashing on a regular basis.

I keep getting the same errors with the damn Creative Cloud application on my Windows 7 machine, which IS connected to a LAN and IS actively connected to the internet at the time the error routinely appears in the midst of tasks.  I have checked root certificates, manually checked my hosts file and run the tests outlined above to both Adobe addresses.
In fact, the error kept occuring while I was on an over 3-1/2 hour call with a very through and nice representative from Adobe who had remote screen access at the time (through Adobe connect) and could see the error repeatedly occuring!
Her comment, "This just happens sometimes with this application and there's not a patch for it yet",  The problem I was having with Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC was so severe that I had to do a SYSTEM RESTORE which then started  affecting other Adobe applications because Windows had erased part of the programs (or all of some programs) but Adobe's software saw them as still installed, that she had me uninstall ALL Adobe Creative Cloud applications using the Adobe Cleaner Tool and reinstall everyting from SCRATCH. She and I had tried numerous other ways to repair the problems I was having with updates not installing correctly AND constant program freezing, etc. before this taking this extreme step.
I'm a professional programmer / software / web designer, so I had tried for hours correct the issues the previous night and had tried once overnight to reach someone in Adobe support only to be told of over an hour wait time by the automation and not offered a callback.
Anyway, despite her best assistance this afternoon (and double confirmation that everything tested correctly), it has taken, so far, well over six hours to reinstall only a portion of what I need for my work and on a deadline because the application keeps reporting "No Internet Connection" and I have programs cued to install unattended.  I am now way behind schedule on some design projects which MUST BE COMPLETED by deadline and require Adobe's software to be installed and function correctly.
Adding to this, Windows Explorer has repeatedly crashed after installing the damn Creative Cloud application and works normally when it's removed and "cleaned" ... and I've seen so many problems with the install system, etc. that I have to wonder what in the hell the company was thinking when this approach was launched?
I generally have liked -- and indeed loved -- some of Adobe's products in the past, but the recent experience has certainly been costly in time and disappointing.
Many other software manufacters integrate suites, perform updates and confirm licenses without such a buggy, time intensive and unreliable process -- including my own company.
Aside from complaining at this point, I wish somebody from Adobe would provide alternative install methods and / or a fullproof fix for this bug and some of the other installation bugs many of us experience.  Any thoughts, advice, knowing that not only I -- but also the Adobe Support Staff Person accessing my computer LIVE -- tried the various "fixes"?

Branching this to a new discussion as the previous discussion was related to the inability to connect and download the installation software.
Rob it does sound like you are facing some connection and stability difficulties.  Do you manage your network youself?  I am a bit concerned by the fact that you have stated that you periodically loose Internet connection while completing certain tasks.  Does this affect your ability to utilize the already installed Adobe Creative software?
I would also recommend reviewing your installation logs to determine if any errors occured during the installation process.  Please see Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html for information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files.  Please feel free to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion thread.

    Hi,
I can find that there is a
same thread that you posted in the forum. I had replied it. Please check if can help you. Just remind that please reboot when uncheck IPv6 option and monitor the result. Meanwhile, please check if can find some relevant issue when you run
    SBS 2008 BPA.
In addition, please refer to the following thread and skip the DHCP check, then run the wizard. Please check
if this wizard can be ran completely. If run successfully, then enable the DHCP
    again.
    SBS
2011 is detecting DHCP on my network after I disable it and i cant continue setup
    Hope this helps.

  • Intermittent internet connection via airport express

I've got a MacBook Core Duo and a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo...both with airport express. My internet connection is via a DLink DI-624 to Motorola cable modem. The DI-624 is setup with WPA security...which has been working fine for my windows laptop and PDA.
I've been getting random problems with web surfing even though the airport express icon shows full bars. During those problem times, safari reports no internet connection.
I've noticed that I can sometimes bring internet connection back by turning off the airport (via the icon at the top) and then turning it back on. Don't like this, as wireless connection should just work...and this doesn't always fix it.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you.

When I connect directly via a LAN cable, my download speed is 25+ mbps. However, the download speed slows to only 6-7 mbps when connected wirelessly via the Airport Express. The speed remains this slow even when only one computer is connected wirelessly.
In general an Ethernet connection will be faster than a Wi-Fi connection.
In AirPort Utility for Mac (which ought to be similar for the same program for Windows) you can enter "manual setup" mode, then select the "Advanced" panel, click the "Logs and Statistics" button, then click the "Wireless Clients" tab. If you can do that, what values do you see in the lower part of the window for "SIgnal" and "Noise"?

  • WRVS4400N Drops Internet Connectivity with PORT SCAN

I just installed a WRVS440N router and it appears that every time a PORT SCAN happens, the router just shuts down and drops Internet Connectivity for about a minute or two, then once the PORT SCAN is done everything seems back to nomal?
I have heard many complaints about this router and wonder does anyone else have this issue?
I also have very erratic Internet connections speeds and I turened off the IPS feature and that seems to help. I am running version 2.0.8 Firmware.
If anybody has any tips or tricks to improve this router would like to hear. I can only say I regret buying this thing.

I suggest you to play around with the wireless settings on the router, Like changing the wireless name , channel and the type of wireless security.
    This link will guide you;http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3698
Also, you check the firmware of the router by going to the status tab on  the interface.
Website you can check to download it.

  • Time Capsule Degrades Wireless Internet Connection: Help?

Time Capsule Degrades Wireless Internet Connection: I am in FL using Brighthouse Cable as my internet provider (15MG down). The internet connection speed is slower than a dial up connection when wirelessly connected to my network to my Time Capsule. When I remove the Time Capsule and replace it with Brighthouses Netgear router the internet speed are normal (fast). Additionally, the internet speed is OK when I first hit a website, but the speed degrades rapidly as I access additional web pages. I no longer use my Time Capsule and therefore are not getting my back-up protection. (NOTE: I tried Verizon Fios and had the same problem.) Can anyone help?

Bought the time capsule in Oct 2013.  I have a Sagemcom 2864 modem from Bell but used through Teksavvy.  The 5 ghz has been flaky until I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.1 I think.  I had a closer look at it and it appears that the wifi is ok.  I was thrown off by the wifi symbol being all animated in the menu bar.  I was able to ping the time capsule via wifi.  All the status lights on the modem looked ok.  Next time it happens, I'll see if I can get some more details.  Do you know if there's anyway to get some logs from the airport utility?

  • Windows 8 Constantly Loses Internet Connectivity

Hi, I have a new Dell Inspiron 17-3721 with Windows 8. It is connected to a Linksys WRT160NL Wifi router.
The laptop occasionally loses its internet connection (approx. once per hour, even as I type this), and can't even connect to the router (neither ping nor its web page). When I look at the network settings, everything seems to be OK (IP address, DNS and
gateway settings), except that it reports no internet connectivity.
Other computers in the network running Win XP, Vista or Android don't have any problems at all, so I am dead sure it's not a problem with the router or my ISP.
Sometimes the problem goes away after a few minutes, but usually it persists for a long time.
What is odd: When Internet Explorer times out it shows me a troubleshoot button. When I click it, usually connectivity is restored after a few seconds, while troubleshooter is trying to find a problem. I believe it pulls something straight while analyzing
the network. I only wish I knew what.
I uninstalled McAfee security center because someone suggested it might be the root of the problem, but it didn't help.
Windows is up to date, also the BIOS has the latest version (from 3 days ago).
    Any other hints?

A small update: I disabled IPv6 because somewhere it was suggested that this might be the problem, but it didn't help.
I compared the output of ipconfig/all between working and non-working network, but there is no difference. Everything looks the same.
Tracert to the DNS server doesn't help. Since not even the wifi router (which is also the DHCP server and the default gateway) is available (ping 192.168.1.1 times out), tracert stops there. I'm using my ISP's DNS servers which are assigned
    via DHCP.
Maybe it's not necessary to mention that again, but: All other hosts connected to the wifi router can always ping it, and they can always query the DNS servers and they can always open web pages and they can always send emails and whatnot. It is unbelievable
that the latest version of windows has a problem with such a basic issue.
I installed Ubuntu on the same laptop today. So far it didn't have a problem with the network. I do admit that the installation of wifi was a little less out of the box.
I haven't found the time to use netmon yet. I wonder what it would tell me. I have never used netmon before. Is it comparable to wireshark?
In case someone wants to look at the output of  ipconfig, here it is:

  • Downloading Tour de Flex to be used in a computer without internet connection

    Hi,
I would like to download the current Tour de flex version and to use it in a development environment that has no internet connection (a dedicated computer that is always disconnected from the internet but can get external files to be installed through a CD).
I am aware of the fact that this computer will lack all the new future updates, but I can leave with that for now..
    Is it possible?
If you could refere also to the option to connect it to eClips it would be the best.
    Thanks a lot.

    FAQ.
Annual members can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode.
From that I get that every 99 days or sooner...I will need to run a very long LAN cable.

  • Can Tour de Flex run without internet connection

    Hi
I have installed TourDeFlex.air, but unfortunately it requires internet connection to browse the components.
Do you know if it is possible to run Tour de Flex without internet connection?

From an earlier post by Nicolas Mertens:
"here's what I got from Customer Services about this problem:
[Help] files are located in the following location:
    C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Help/en_us/InDesign/6.0. Also
from that location, you can launch the file 'index.html' and this
should direct you to *the online help that you would access through
    the program itself.*"
I found that the files are not at that location, but at C:/Program
Files/Common Files/Adobe/Help/en_GB/InDesign/6.0 (this is in Windows
    Vista, by the way). "
Yours would presumably be at [the German equivalent of
..]/de-DE/InDesign6.0, or whatever your locale is (AT, CH...)

  • Airport Extreme slowing down internet connection to a crawl

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain this one?
Just this afternoon my internet connection slowed to a crawl. Pages would stall loading and I couldn't even collect emails. There was a connection there. A Google search might take a minute or so but anything else would barely flinch.
So I did a few restarts and complete power downs of all my peripherals, computers and network devices but no joy. I called my broadband provider who did a remote test of my cable modem and confirmed it was responding well.
So I removed the Airport Extreme from the network and connected directly to the modem. All was fine, in fact that is how I am working now. But when connecting the Airport Extreme back in I have this extremely slow connection. I have looked at both the Network preferences and Airport Setup Utility. Both claim the connection is good.
I also have an old G4 in another room. It was switched off during all the goings on this afternoon but I powered it up to see if the same problem persisted. Sure enough it does, as it is also connected via the AE. However, the local connection between computers is just fine.
So how do I resolve this? Why would the AE cause such an internet slowdown?
    Thanks,
    Colin

I've had similar symptoms on my network. Here are network details:
    Comcast is the ISP
I have an Extreme and an Express set up as a single wireless network.
Extreme is plugged in to the cable modem. Express is an extension of the Extreme.
Devices that are regularly "on network": Mac Mini (G4), MacBook, Mac Pro, 2 TiVO Series 2.
    All Macs are running 10.4.10.
Symptom: Over the course of 3-6 weeks, wireless access slows to a crawl for the Intel-based MacBook and MacPro, but not the PowerPC Mini. All web sites, email traffic, etc., for the Intel Macs becomes painful: CNN's home page loads in minutes, not seconds, for example. Unplugging and replugging the Express doesn't do anything. Powering off and on the Extreme resolves the issue. For now. There are no pending firmware updates for the Express or Extreme that I'm aware of.
