well if the signal from the gsm tower becomes too weak to carry a connection it will be dropped
and not reconnected untill it can provide enough watt to produce a stable signal
that goes for all phones

Tower problem in Old Forge, NY 13420

All summer, multiple people mainly with iphones have been having problems retrieving voicemails and some txt messages, especially trying to send a txt with a picture in the Old Forge, NY area.
As soon as you leave the area and connect to another tower the stuff sends out or comes in.
Not sure how to notify Verizon about this but I think someone should look into it.

I was already using OS X. I actually had 10.4 installed, but downgraded to 10.2 Server since that is the only server edition OS X I have that is compatible with the G4. The machine worked beautifully with 10.4... why would it not be able to handle 10.2? Also, the machine has a gigabyte of ram which should be more than enough for 10.2...
The installation disc seems to be in fairly pristine condition. There are no scratches and I made sure to clean the dust off of it before inserting the disc into the machine. Also, doesn't the installer verify the contents of the installation packages before running the install? And even if not, wouldn't it at least report any issues it encountered during the installation process to notify me of a bad/incomplete install? The installer seemed to go through all of the packages without a single error message or warning, as if everything had gone flawlessly...
I mounted the drive in target disk mode on another mac and used disk warrior to attempt to repair it. I rebuilt the drive, repaired permissions and checked all files. The problem continues, however... I'm just about ready to give up at this point. This is extremely frustrating...

G4 AGP Tower Problems :(

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums here so if I make a newbie mistake bear with me ^_^
I acquired a used PowerMac G4 Tower with a blank hard drive (it is the one that came with the machine: Quantum Fireball 20 GB).
Specs are: AGP Graphics model, 400MHz, 512MB RAM, 20GB HD
So I went ahead and ordered an os 9.2.2 disc on ebay and bought a 10.4 disc from a local apple store.
I cannot get either operating system to install. I am able to boot up from both discs. However, once I click install the machine freezes and the usb power cuts out (logitech optical mouse and apple white keyboard stop responding, neither are wireless)
Now, the disc I'm using for OS 9 is a gray eMac restore CD. I know, I should get a retail 9 disc (white + orange), but it installed fine on both my imac tray-loaders and I read in the readme file that it should work with a powermac g4 as well. Yet, the exact same freezing problem also occured with a retail tiger disc!
I believe that my firmware needs an update, but I cant install it until I am able to boot from os 9 on the hd. Also, I have pressed the reset button on the motherboard to zap the pram but that didn't help. I can get into open firmwire if that matters.
I can't figure out whether this is a software or hardware problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Further machine specs are in my profile under biography.

PC Fan, welcome, here are a few things you might try.
1. Since you are able to boot from the OS 9 CD open Disk First Aid from the Applications/Utilities folder. Then run the Verify to ensure that the drive is OK. Now run the Disk Repair and see if this helps.
2. If not, then open Drive Setup and Initialize the hard drive. At this point I would recommend that you use Zero all Data, it takes more time but this is time well spent.
3. If you still can not install the OS try connecting the two computer together via a Crossover cable. If the hard drive of the G4 mounts on the iMac desktop you can install the OS 9 to the iMac and copy it to the G4 via an Ethenet cable.
When I was visiting a friend about a year ago I encounter a very similar situation. We installed OS 9.1 on a PM 6500, then moved the hard drive to a G4 GE, booted the G4 from the 4 BG 6500 HD, updated the firmware then installed the new larger hard drive and OS X. The G4 would not boot from the hard drive with the 9.2.2 that was already installed on the 6500. We think that this was a combination of the processor upgrade and the OS 9 Helper. So a fresh copy of the OS on the iMac could be the answer.

I have tow problem withe my muvo s

i bought month ago a muvo slim 52mb.
in the start everything was alright but now i have 2 problems:
) i cant open the mp3, when i am pushing the on/off, the muvo doesnt opend. but if it is already on i can switch it off, and when i connect the machine to my pc/leptop and disconnect it, it will be opended. may-be it's problem with my battry?
2)i cant charge it/
when i connect the muvo to my pc/leptot it should show me the "power" icon, but it's shows me "spaceship" icon, despite the fact that the muvo shows me the power of the battery is /3.

How to report possible tower problem in our area?

Verizon coverage on Hilton Head Island, south end has been increasingly spotty. Please advise, calls are dropped, texts are not received or sent. Do not know what to do. This has been happening more frequently, but this past week it has been really bad. Help!

Zip code is 29928. We have four smart phones in family, 2 droid razrs, 1 iPhone 5, and 1 iPhone 4s. All show 0 to 3 bars at home on and off. All are dropping calls, not receiving or sending messages at times. Usually only have issue in general area of our home, 2 miles radius. Our neighbors also are having issues. We tried turning wifi on and off, doesn't help either way. Has been happening for months but recently became so bad we had to drive somewhere to get service. I have called Verizon twice. Once was told there were problems in our area and 3 days later was told nothing was going on that was reported. Hope you can help identify problem, frustrating. Thanks.

Recursive aspect of the Tower of Hanoi problem.

Right now I am a CS student in high school. I am going ahead of the class and my teacher recommended that I learn recrusion for Java.
Can somebody provide a trace or a link to a trace for this. I have been spending the last two days trying to understand the recursion aspect of this problem and I am stuck.

Or if somebody could just notate the part of the code so I would be able to understand it. I understand basic recursion, but I am exploring stuff that is in the same chapter such as the tower problem and Recursive Premutation (I have no idea how that works).

The steps are:
1. move the n-1 blocks from A to B,
2. move the bottom block from A to C
3. move n-1 blocks from B to C
But, you should see that in doing steps 1 and 3, you are doing the towers of hanoi problem for a smaller tower, which makes it recursive.
So you need a base case - moving one block. Then you need to write a recursive function that does the steps I've laid out.

JSF Rendering problems

I have encountered tow problems using JSF 1.0
First:
I have a site that has a css file asociated with it.
In this css file i have a class for the option tag "<option>".
My problem is that JSF dose not provide a way to pass and render the class attribute on the option tag.
Is there a way to render this attribute on the option tag without extending the component or writing a renderer for it?
Second:
How can I pass the attributes colspan and rowspan of a <td> element rendered for a panelGrid tag without extending the component or writing a renderer for it?

OracleXMLQuery and OracleXMLSave Problem

I have tow problems in my Java/oracle Application :
1)
I am using OracleXMLQuery to extract data from a data base, the problem is when the table is empty i get an empty output file.
Is there a method to get the header of the table (the manes of colomns ) in the output file (.xml) even if the table is empty ?
2)
the second problem is in importing the .xml file to a table in the data base :
I import a lot of files some of them are sucessfully imported and others skip some lines.
so I get some rows missed in the data base.
(I notice that the file is well opened in Xml spy and i can see all my data in it.)

MAJOR problems with Verizon

I have been experiencing a downward spiral in Verizon service. I keep calling in regards to an issue I have....when my husband goes to work in Sacramento, his phone battery power dies rapidly and his service is spotty, at best, if he even HAS service. This has been happening since the end of May. I was told that there were tower problems in the area, then told they are working on it, only to be told today that there is no information on it. I was also told that we probably have to report it to the owner of the building so they can put on a "booster" since there probably is no more tower in the area and that will help.
Over this past year we have also experienced times where the phone was just dead. NO signal, no text, no email, and when you try to dial out, dead silent. NO explanation for that, no refund for times we couldn't use our phone BUT still paid for the service.
Top it off with the fact that I actually did one of their phone surveys and stated all the problems, and they actually call back to see what happened. Unfortunately they left a message and no call back number. the call came from the number "tech support." When I saw they called again yesterday, I picked up the phone and said "hello." They hung up....obviously was hoping to reach my voicemail again.
Still no update today. Still issues with service. STILL NO ANSWERS or attempt to help out. SO.......looks like we'll be going to AT&T. I've been with Verizon for about 10 or so years...at least. I'm so fed up with this crap!
Anybody else experiencing the same type of thing?

I'm sorry to see that your husband is experience multiple service issues with his phone SharksChick! Based on the information provided, I can see where the phone would drain the battery quickly when he is at work due to structural interference as this causes the phone to constantly search for service and the battery can drain very rapidly. As mentioned in your post (a booster has been suggested), a Network Extender http://vz.to/WsPfmP in his work place will remedy the structural interference and the phone will not drain battery as fast because it will find service much faster. If the other issues noted (no signal, not text, no email, etc.) are all occurring at work, then all issues are caused by the low or non existent signal in his place of work. You are a valued customer and we don't want you to consider moving away from our wireless family, perhaps your husbands employer may consider a Network Extender http://vz.to/WsPfmP for the work place.

Send Welcome Email to New User using the Scripting Agent

I require some assistance please. I have found a number of scripts online to send a Welcome Email to new users whereby they make use of the ScriptingAgent.xml file.
I like the way the scripts have been configured and have mashed up one or two scripts together for my desired result however when testing in my lab (Exchange 2013) I have found tow problems.
The problems are:
1. When creating a new user and mailbox (New-Mailbox) via the ECP the script throws out an error which I will post later in this post. The mailbox is created fine but it does not send out a welcome email. When a user is created in ADUC and then a mailbox
is created (Enable-Mailbox) the welcome email is sent out correctly.
2. In the script i have a section to check for NewUser00 in the HTML file and replace that with the Users Name and Surname, however this does not work correctly, I just come up blank:

My post disappeared! Down for over a week!

Wow! my whole post disappeared. Am I talking about a sore subject?
Been down for over a week. My issue is that because I am using a usb modem as my internet connection with considerable infrastructure to make it work, support always says its my problem. I always remove my modem from my router and place it in a netbook to prove I have no 'unusual' setup to support. This time I had to actually drive to the tower to prove I wasn't having a reception problem. Something was finally changed while troubleshooting from car (tech's words not mine) and I'm working again.
To VZW's credit, minutes ago I had a tech call me back and tell me there is a local tower problem. My faith in good business has been salved.
However I'm really confused. All week I was told there were problems, then they were fixed, looked like my device, tech today said he made a change (local to me), another tech says there are problems. Do you guys not have a running log/ticketing system? I've been in IT for 30 years, most places do...

Please help with Applet in New Window?

I am trying to write a html page which opens appet into new window.
Tha'ts what i want. My applet has user/passwd authentication and then
makes a socket connection. However i am facing tow problems(kind of one):
1. If i close my applet browser window, socket connection is still active.
(if i use appletviewer.. every thing works perferctly)
2. on my web page, if i click again to open my appet window it refreshes my applet window again ....if it 's already opened. in other words, my applet does not really gets reloaded from my webserver..
Please advise..

You can open a frame, and have a very small applet on your html page. Perhaps you can set the applet size to (0, 0).
You could also open a new browser window that is not resizable and contains your applet in its full size and without the toolbar buttons and menubar. I think you need javascript to configure the new browser window like that.

IPhone 5 no data

Started 3 days ago.
LTE was on, now no LTE,4G,or E is present on my phone.
I do have full service.
I tried turn on/off airplane mode. Reinserting SIM Card, Reseting Data settings.
No luck so far..please help!

Have you connected to a wifi network? When connected to a wifi network, the celluar connection setting (LTE, 4G, 3G, E, etc) does not show on the screen, just the wifi signal meter.
When you say "I do have full service." what do you mean? You have a strong signal but no indicator as to the signal type? I have had occassions where my iPhone 5 (and my older iPhone 4 for that matter) would show me 4 or 5 bars and AT&T but with no indicator, which from teh manual I determined that I was on GPRS and not LTE, or 3G. Perhaps similar is happening in your case? I agree that this might be a good point to contact your carrier, it could be a tower problem in your area.

Is there a way for Verizon to check the strength of the towers?

Over the past month, everyone in our office has experienced low to no reception, regardless of carrier. Nothing has changed in our building to cause this. It is happening to all phones, not one particular brand. If its not a tower problem, I don't know what else it could be. It causes batteries to drain more quickly also. Zip code is 28160.

The reception is better outdoors than indoors. There have not been any
changes to our building, which is only a one level building, or the
surrounding structures and areas. I use a Motorola Razr M. However,
others at my location use different phones, such as I-phone 4 and 5, Galaxy
S, etc. Some even have a different carrier like US Cellular. Which is why
