anyone have any clue where the files mentioned in the 10g single signon "third party authentication module" are?

i can't find the java files mentioned to change them - are they in the jar that i need or is there something i have to download?

Could someone suggest from where I can download ipassample.jar. I don't have a Oracle Apps server running locally, I have only Oracle DS or login-ex.jsp.
Besides in the policy file of SSO customization, can I use a servlet instead of a jsp file( to be precise change the login-ex.jsp).
Any help is highly appreciated.

OBIEE 10G SSO Issue

We have configured OBIEE 10g on IIS (ver-6) server. We have a business requirement where we need to integrate OBIEE with another ASP.NET application. So, user should log in once and to view OBIEE reports he should not log in again.
Now we have checked GO URL option given in Chapter 11 of Oracle® Business Intelligence Presentation Services Administration Guide. But problem is our company policy does not allow us to pass Password in HTTP URL. So we cannot use that solution.
We are trying to use SSO and referred to Chapter 8 of Deployment Guide. We followed all the steps give in that chapter
Also, we modified isapiconfig.xml and entered <CredentialStore> paramaters in it.
But when we Go to Analytics URL (for remote machine) Login screen show "Not Logged In" message.
currently we are using REMOTE_USER method as it is given in documention.
So we did everything by the book. Now my question is:
1) We do not have any SSO server/Product, is there is any way we can integrate OBIEE application to other ASP.Net application on another IIS SERVER? There was a suggestion that if we pass remoter_user parameter in HTTP header, is it possible to work this way.
2) Is it possible that if we host both the ASP.NET and OBIEE 10g on SAME IIS server there is way to integrate them using SSO without any SSO server again by passing remote_user HTTP header
3) What options do we have to integrate ASP.NET application and OBIEE without using SSO server itself and without using GO url method as we cannot pass password in header. Will Cookie Enabling Method can work in this scenerio.
4) Is there is way that OBIEE directly take windows ID without SSO server, I know question might sound stupid as in prerequisite i read that we need “SSO system of Choice” but we need to be absolutely sure about our option and possibilities.

Thanks for your response. I was doing a bit of R&D on SOAP API, tell me if i am wrong.
In case we use SOAP API to Authenticate then we will get Response in terms of XML and we have to write our own code to render it in tables or charts.
We dont want that we just want to automate the Authentication part and want to use OBIEE use Interactive Dashboards. Kindly suggest if I am wrong and if we just write a piece of Code to get the Authentication done and it will not affect the further use of OBIEE.

10g SSO server for HTMLDB 1.6

Hi,
we need to configure our htmldb applications (1.6) as partner applications on sso server 10g.
The HowTO on OTN refers to old SSO SDK.
It is still relevant for SSO 10g and htmldb 1.6? (newer versions).
I thought SSO SDK should already be installed in metadata repository database (where ORASSO schema is defined) and in higher version no?
Last : where should i install the sso sdk? on top of htmldb home or on top of Ias Infra (SSO) home?

It is still relevant for SSO 10g and htmldb 1.6? (newer versions).Yes. Ignore dated nomenclature, references to Portal and/or specific mention of version numbers/schema names in the SSO SDK instructions. The general approach is still valid with current versions of the infrastructure.

IDM 11g + 10g SSO supported on 11gR2?

according to the fusion middleware 11g certification guide it says that the database versoin 11.1.0.7+ is supported. I'm assuming that means 11gR2 as well?
It appears Ultra search has been desupported in 11gR2: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/readmes.112/e11015/toc.htm#BABBFCCH
So when I run the SSO 10 RCU it fails against an 11gR2 database "The database does not contain Ultra Search Schemas WKSYS and or WKPROXY. Please install them and try again."

I am running in an environment here where it is mandatory that I run SSO 10g (the old verison 10.1.x.x OAS based). How do I go about enabling SSO in APEX 4.2.1? Can I use the same ssosdk902.zip I used with APEX 3.x.x or do I need a different one? There is no plans to go to upgrade off of our legacy 10g SSO or go to OAM based SSO. I would appreciate any information that can be offered.

yes, you can use the same SDK. You just have to take care to follow the same steps. It's easy to forget to re-create synonyms and do grants after an APEX upgrade.

In our intranet i'm trying to use the AS 10g SSO
as authentication with my HTML DB application.
HTML DB is into a 9.2.0.4 database in a Alpha open VMS server.
AS 10g infrastructure and AS 10g mid-tier on two difference Linux RedHat AS 2.1 servers.

SSO and iRecruitment

We recently registered our E-Business instance with 10g SSO and everything is working as expected except for iRecruitment. External users can access the iRecruitment home page without any problem. When they attempt to login I expect that they are directed to a local login page, but for some reason they are directed to the SSO login page... which makes no sense for an external user. Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions for resolving the issue? Thanks.

Our SSO login page is internally accessible only. Apparently, SSO registration is all or nothing for the entire E-Business Suite. We are able to set APPS_SSO_TYPE (the profile option to enable or disable SSO) only at the site level. Looks like this is a relatively recent change, per Metalink note 402122.1:
"If you are on OA Framework 11.5.10 ATG CU 3 the Applications SSO Type
can only be set at site level and no lower. Prior to OA Framework
11.5.10 ATG CU 3, there was the ability to set the system profile
Applications SSO Type at a lower level."
Our SSO server authenticates against Oracle Internet Directory which is synchronizing and externally authenticating with Active Directory. EBS accounts are provisioned unidirectionally from OID. If, as I understand, SSO is all or none with all EBS applications, then I think we will have to:
1) Modify EBS provisioning to be bidirectional, OID->EBS and EBS->OID
2) Configure OID DIT to place reconciled EBS accounts in a container that will not be externally authenticated against AD
3) Put our SSO login server in the DMZ
If we do all these things then I think everything will work right. Is this correct, and/or is there any other way? It seems silly to me that external iRecruitment users should be forced to authenticate with our SSO server...

Unable to configure SSO in Oracle11g

Hi,
I have tried to install and Configure SSO in Windows 2008 R2 server (64bit). I am facing issue with SSO Metadata repository installaion, please helpful on that.
Steps I did
1. Installed Oracle 11g R2
2. Installed Oracle WebLogic Server (10.3.3)
3. Run the RCU to create repository for IDM and SOA Suite
4. Installed SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.2.0 && 11.1.1.3.0)
5. Installed Oracle Identity Management (11.1.1.2.0 && 11.1.1.3.0)
6. Configured Oracle Identity management
When i run the SSO Metadata Repository Creation Assistant (10.1.4.3.1), it is completing without any installatin progress. Also i didn't 64bit version in downloads.
Please help me to resolve the SSO configuration issue.

Which SSO you are trying to add ?
1. Is this Microsoft SSO i.e. Kerberos ?
2. Oracle 10g SSO a.k.a OSSO ?
3. Oracle Access Manager SSO
Looking at installer "SSO Metadata Repository Creation Assistant (10.1.4.3)" it looks like you are trying to use 10g OSSO , is there any reason for using this ?
10g SSO is mergning to 11g OAM SSO so 11g OAM SSO is one you should use if this is new implementation.
For 10g SSO what error message you are hitting ? Which document you are following ?

Verify the credentials. Make sure that hostname, port and password are correct
ldapbind cn=orcladmin to OID 11g successfull.
SSO rcu executed after ofm rcu.

On the page that you are mentioned there are only schema creation assistant - SSO Metadata Repository Creation Assistant (10.1.4.3.0)
But here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e12003/claqi.htm they say that I need SSO installed:
Install Oracle Single Sign-On 10g (10.1.4.3) on your system in a different Oracle Home location than your Oracle Internet Directory installation.
Why SSO is mandatory and not optional?
So, if I quite right, to get a Portal/Forms/Reports/Discoverer 11g I have to do the following:
1.install db11g
2.install sso mrca
3.run sso mrca with load option
4.run rcu for creating ofm11g schemas
5.install OID11g
6.run sso mrca with register option in OID
7.install Identity Management 10g only with SSO and DAS services from here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101401.html
8.and only then run pfrd installation
Am I right?

ORASSO database user privileges

Hi-
We are using 10G SSO, in the OID database DBA role is assigned to ORASSO user.
I am unable to find that why do we require DBA role for this user, can we revoke DBA role from ORASSO?

Thanks for your feedback. We are using Discoverer 11g on a 10g database. OS on client machine running Discoverer Desktop is Windows xp and im pretty sure its solaris on the box.
The eulowner user is indeed a database account and was specifically created to create the eul with. Therefore with this in mind, i created a new database user with resource and connect privs. Once this was created i navigated to Discoverer Administrator expecting to see the user within the dropdown menu under tool > priviledges, but the new user namely disco_user is not appearing in the lsit for selection.
I'm wondering if this eul was created as an apps mode eul, would this determine whether standard database users are able to be selected in this mode? The full error message when logging into Discoverer Desktop is;
unable to connect to: disco_user@db you do not have access priviledges to any end user layer tables.
This message appears does apear quite rightly as i have found before when no priviledges have been assigned to the user in admin, but without the ability to select the user from the dropdown list, im unable to grant these.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. I appreciate your help.

Upgrade EBS 11i(10.2.0.5) on HPUX to EBS R12(11.2.0.3) on linux

We have EBS 11.5.10.2 on HPUX with 10.2.0.5 database.We want to migrate and upgrade it to EBS 12.1.3 with 11.2.0.3 database.
We also have 10.1.4.3 SSO.
Our approach is:
First Phase:
1) From source(HPUX) take export(expdp) backup of 10g database.
2) Install 11.2.0.3 database on Target ie,on Linux server.
3) Import database on target 11g database.
4) Link 11g(Linux) database with 11i(HPUX) application
5) Re-Integrate SSO with 11g database.
Second Phase:
1)Pre upgrade steps on 11g database(linux)
2)Install file system of EBS 12.1.1 on linux with upgrade.
3) Upgarde steps
4) Post upgarde steps.
Is it feasible? Please suggest.

1) Is expdp/impdp is better than transaportable tablespace?I have been using export/import for long time and never had issues with it. The transportable tablespace is a new concept and it became certified with 11i/R12 not long time ago.
2) We also want to change the characterset on target database from US7ASCII to UTF8/ AL32UTF8/ AL16UTF16 to support multiple languages.We are planning to manually change the script created by expdp utility as per the doc 557738.1.So,is it work in our case or should we follow some other steps to change the characterset?It should be OK. However, I would suggest you log a SR and confirm the same with Oracle support -- Changing the NLS_CHARACTERSET to AL32UTF8 / UTF8 (Unicode) [ID 260192.1]
