TPC Issues - Transfers Not Working!!

Alright so I just used a program formerly known as System Optimizer X now know as Socks. It has an internet optimization feature and I used it to change my send and receive buffer size to 66048 and 112064 respectively. The system defaults are 32768 for both. Since changing it I have had problems with my internet and my torrent transfers and other downloads are not working at all or working very poorly. I was wondering if there was a terminal command or other solution to force a return to the system defaults since Socks seems to be unable to return me to my original state. Thanks for your help.

Ooops... and by TPC I mean TCP of course... idiot.

  • ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint (55Y9053) driver issue (keys not working)

    Hello!
I bought this external keyboard yesterday for my Dell desktop running windows 7 (professional)  because I liked the thinkpad keyboard in my thinkpad t400. After plugging in to my desktop and installing the drivers that came in the CD, I noticed some keys (u, o, m, enter(return), l) were not working, i.e., nothing get displayed when I press those keys . When I tried installing it on thinkpad t400 running Windows 7 professional, the same non-working keys were displaying numbers instead of alphabet values.
Please note the keyboard is not 55Y9003 but the newer version 55Y9053. Also, note the trackpoint worked well including scrolling and all other keys were working. Interestingly, when I plugged this keyboard on Ubuntu machine (desktop and laptop), everything worked well without even installing any drivers.
I initially thought it was a hardware problem and got replacement from Amazon. Both the keyboards exhibit the same problem. Given the fact it works nicely on Ubuntu, I think this is a driver issue. I tried installing drivers from thinkpad site including versions 1.6 and 1.7.
I would appreciate if someone can help with the right drivers.
    Thank you,
    Vinai

How does the keyboard compare to the one on the T400? I'm considering purchasing one for my desktop because I'm addicted to the TrackPoint.

  • Post install issue: network not working

Hi. I've installed arch and after install just issued full system upgrade (pacman -Syu). But after reboot, my network is not working anymore  (can't ping even my gateway). In my rc.conf i have line
    interface=eth0
so i am using dhcp. But as i said, network was working before full system upgrade (packages were downloaded). I think something must be wrong with module b44. This is output of dmesg:
b44 ssb1:0: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex
b44 ssb1:0: eth0: Flow control is off for for TX and off for RX
    b44 ssb1:0: eth0: powering down PHY
    b44 ssb1:0: eth0: Link is down
    b44 ssb1:0: eth0: powering down PHY
b44 ssb1:0: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex
b44 ssb1:0: eth0: Flow control is off for for TX and off for RX
    b44 ssb1:0: eth0: powering down PHY
    b44 ssb1:0: eth0: Link is down
    b44 ssb1:0: eth0: powering down PHY
This keeps repeating every few seconds. I tried manually restart network via /etc/rc.d/network restart, but it's still not working.

    The network restarts without error?
Weird, do you see anything in pacman.log for that upgrade when processing the hooks?
Try unloading (modprobe -r b44) and loading (modprobe -i -v b44)  the driver and look in the logs again then perhaps.

  • FTP & Wildcards (File adapter issue) - asterisk not working

    Hi guys!
We need to use FTP sender adapter and we need to pick up all files present in the directory. Normally we would use asterisk (*), but the adapter is not processing the files. It behaves like the directory would be empty.
Do you use wildcards in FTP sender channel? Is it working for you?
    Thanx!  Olian

    Hey Olian
    >>worng file list generation
whenever you give any wildcard character for filename first of all a file list is generated, this file list contains names of all the files in the source directory(if you have given *) or names of files which satisfy your selection criteria(if you have given?).
once the list is generated then the files are picked up based upon the list.
to me it looks that this list is not being generated and due to which you are unable to pick the files using wildcard.
There could be other issues too but i m not sure about them
    Thanx
    Aamir

  • File transfers not working

my file transfers have suddenly stopped working, they start and crap out around a quarter of the way through. the majority of people that im talking to are not on ichat but aim on windows. what can i do, and if i have to delete and re install how do i save my buddy list?

    Hi:
If you think your iChat problems might be from corrupted ichat preferences files, the "sledge hammer" approach would be to delete the five com.apple.ichat.*.plist files that are in your Home folder's Library folder's Preferences folder. The next time you launch iChat, it will be just like a first-time-ever launch of iChat, so you will need to re-enter all the iChat account information when the iChat startup wizard launches, and your iChat preferences, in particular, remembering things like resetting your iChat > Preferences > Video > Bandwidth to None and stuff like that. Your buddy list is maintained on AIM's servers, not your computer, so it's safe.

The problem is that it always stops at 100%. I have no idea why. It's probably to do with the conversion, and it is not a hard disk issue. I have 33.7GB free for a 2GB file. I am currently downloading the sdc file through Firefox, and it seems to be working,
but why can't you fix it? The SDM is useless for me. It worked at first, but when you updated it, it stopped working.
    Can anyone else fix it?

moving to off topic per the stickied post in this forum:

  • N97 Connectivity issues/applications not working

I have tried to use the Routers application on my phone, but it just does not connect.  I have also tried iplayer and this also has issues connecting, saying the bandwidth isnt good enough.
I have also no luck when trying to web browse as i try to connect to my wifi which it connects to, but after about 1 minute it auto disconnects, even when i am browsing etc.
I have tried to sort the issues out myself by using the destinations and setting my wifi as top priority, but this doesnt help.
    Any ideas???

Have you faced this with other applications like facbook, bloomberg, AP News, etc.? It can be an application problem..
Does your web browser works normally using the Access Points you set under destinations & priorites?
I usually set the following under the web browser settings:
    Menu> Web> Options> Settings> General> Access point> Select "Internet"

  • Need Help! Wierd loading percentage issue does not work in IE  but in other browsers it is ok, why?

    Hi!
I have created a little test swf for my client and I have
encountered a wierd problem because the loading percentage text
field does not seem to function in IE 6 but the same file works
fine when viewed in Firefox and Netscape. When I test the movie
using simulate download in Flash it works well too. Is this a bug
    and how can be fixed?
    Please take a look online:

I have also posted the related actionscript code below.
Thank you for any help in advance,

  • Sandbox Security Issue (MIDI Not Working In Applet)

    Hi all,
I'm having problems getting javax.sound.midi to work in a java applet. It works fine when I run the applet from within JGrasp, but when I try to run the applet from an HTML file there is no sound. From what info I've found, it seems like my problem has to do with the sandbox security so the applet is not being able to access the computer's sound card, but I still haven't found a solution or a work around to that problem (after about 2 weeks worth of searching). The world of applet security is all new territory for me.
I am running the html file off of my hard drive and I have my test program's class file in the same directory. I have tried both firefox and internet explorer web browsers (and also did the "allow blocked content" in internet explorer).
I have no other sound sources playing or paused that would interfere with the web browser playing (it works in JGrasp and immediately after closing JGrasp completely it doesn't work in the web browser).
Any help help in getting this figured out would be greatly appreciated. An example of an open source MIDI Java applet that I can pick apart to figure out what I need to make this work would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
Here are the codes to my test program and HTML file:

Hi ejp, thanks for the reply.
I did some searching for applet signing and I found this:
    http://www.brendonwilson.com/projects/signed-java/
"+Developers should be warned that signing alone is not enough to enable their Java applets to access resources normally restricted by the Java sandbox. Although signing provides proof of the integrity of the applet and validation of the author’s identity through trust-heirarchies, developers must also make use of the browser-dependent APIs to request permission from the user to perform restricted activities.+"
So am I going to have to do ask permission from each browser in order to get access to the sound card for the MIDI to play or will the MIDI work without that?
Also, I found this tutorial on signing applets. Does this look like a good one?
    http://www-personal.umich.edu/~lsiden/tutorials/signed-applet/signed-applet.html
    Thanks again,

  • Issues: Browser Not Working / Device Storage Almost Full - Not Apps / Can Not Update.

    Hello there.
I am having three main issued with my BlackBerry Q5 at the moment.
Firstly, I click on the icon for my Browser and all that I can see is the URL box and the two buttons either side, however none of them are functional. This is an issue that has occurred overnight - yesterday the browser was fully functional.
Secondly and thirdly, I have been trying to install a software update and I keep receiving the error message that 'Device Storage is Almost Full' which interrupts the download. I have tried deleting applications and anything else that I can find, however it is having no effect upon my storage space: 6.2mb is in use under the name 'other data' - as I earlier said, this is not my applications, so any idea what this could be referring to?
    Many thanks in advance!!
    Emily.

I am having the same problem it is nothing short of absolute ridiculousness! 2.54 Gb are not enough for a 978 Mb of download? (trying to download version 10.3.1.1565).
The browser is using up 140Mb which are still there even after deleting every history, bookmarks, cache and what not. I even deleted any content possible leaving 31 Mb of user files. Please explain how can I possibly download the new update if the system is already using 2.09 Gb. Ridiculous!

  • Z77A-G43 Issue - Bios not working

    Dear Forum,
I have a quite strange issue with my brand new system.
    Specs first:
    MSi Z77A-G43 BIOS 2.2/2.3, i5 3570K, Win7 Professional 64 bit
    G.Skill Value Series 8GB DDR3-1333 Kit
be quiet! Straight Power E9 580 Watt CM
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX560 Ti
    OCZ Vertex 120GB SSD
    Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB
    LG GH24NS70
    Problem description:
All parts are brand new. Machine was assembled (antistatic wristband used), Display connected to PCIE-Nvidia gfx card.
Display showed post codes (99, A2) in low resolution and got stuck with a blinking cursor in the top left corner.
After some cable checking I switched to the built-in gfx (from CPU) and the machine booted into bios (v.2.2) after showing the MSI logo.
Whenever I tried to change or even view the bios settings, the machine froze and had to be hard reset.
I installed Win7 without a flaw and updated the bios to 2.3 using Live Update. No errors.
Now whenever I trie to access the bios (hitting DEL) the bios image (blueish) pops up for a short moment and the machine reboots. Nothing else I can do there. It still booted though into windows.
I did the CMOS-reset which showed the initial "settings have been reset, hit F1 for setup or F2 to continue" message but when hitting F1 it again flashed the bios image for a microsecond and rebooted.
Windows still booted normally, when starting Click Bios II application it showed the loading screen but nothing happened. So I decided to reflash 2.3 Bios.
    --> Nothing changed
I then flashed the Bios down to 2.2 using the MSIHQ-Flash utility (awesome tool) which lead to the same effect as before:
I could access the bios but could not change any settings, the machine froze. The click-Bios application started though.
    Now I have two questions:
    1) What's the matter with the board/bios? I can still return the mainboard to the vendor but would rather like to see this issue fixed
    2) Any ideas with the non-running PCIE-graphics card? Could this be related to the mainboard/bios as well? PSU has 580W and all cables were connected properly.
Thanks for any input that might help..

Wouldn't even bother trying anymore with v2.2 since it needs v2.3 to fully support the CPU you have. Recommend to stay with v2.3 since it updates the Management Engine. Going to v2.2 may be causing a chip corruption of some kind.
Not sure what kind or brand of keyboard is involved here, but try with a generic USB one. I had to enable F-Lock on my keyboard to make it go to the UEFI/BIOS using the Delete key. Test with one RAM stick only in the primary dimm slot. Depending on the manual revision, that is either DIMM1 or DIMM2. Update to v2.3, remove the PSU power cord, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS and reset, and test again.
I did use another keyboard, I did a CMOS reset, I  have only one module in DIMM2 as stated in the manual. I guess I went through all usual troubleshouting steps. some things in my system don't like each others.
what I did not do so far is comparing the serial of the old and new mainboard. will do that tonight - I srsly hope they didn't send the faulty one again..

  • Keyboard issues, N not working

Do the keys for the G4's remove just like they do on normal desktop computers? Do they just pop off by sticking a knife in between them? My "N" key hasn't been responding to normal key strokes and I have to hit it just right. I'm guess since its the only one acting up, it has something jammed in it, or is dirty. Is this safest way to remove a key too?
I just didn't want to break it if they don't come off easily.

Thanks for the information, that is exactly what I needed.
If you are having the enter issue when using the wired KB from your old computer that sounds software related with the blog site.
What web browser do you use when on that website?
Connect your wireless equipment back and if you continue to have the issue with the letters repeating then you should inquire about a replacement for what is referred to as "sticky keys".  With it being a new unit this shouldn't be an issue.
Let me know if you have other questions.
