TPM and CCMS in RWB

Hi,
Please let me know what is TPM and CCMS in RWB.
Please explain in detail their significance in RWB.
Thank you all.
Regards
Bhanu.

hi bhanu,
SAP XI uses the monitoring infrastructure of SAP NetWeaver Application Server, such as the CCMS alert monitor and the alert framework. Monitoring can be accessed using the Runtime Workbench (RWB).
The following tools are used by the Runtime Workbench :
CCMS (Computing Center Management System)
u2022     Monitoring and administration of SAP System Landscapes
u2022     Configuration possible within Runtime Workbench
TPM (Process Monitoring Infrastructure)
u2022     Monitor and analyze integrated processes involving multiple components in distributed  system environments
u2022     Display detailed information about processes, process flow, process steps and performance figures
Alerting Framework
u2022     Configuration of alerts to reflect the needs of specific processes
u2022     Part of SAP Web AS
The CCMS Monitor returns a status in the Runtime Workbench for every component.  The information is displayed by means of an icon, which can be red, yellow, green and gray (red for a problem, yellow for a warning, green for success and gray for undefined)
The following are the capabilities of CCMS
u2022     CCMS forms the core component of the Alert Framework.
u2022     It is possible to monitor and administer SAP System Landscapes.
u2022     Integration with Runtime Workbench alert is possible.
u2022     CCMS configurations are global; hence itu2019s not required to set specific monitors for each interface.
CCMS
1) Transaction RZ20 is used for creating monitors in CCMS, select Extras --> Activate maintenance functions.
2)Go to monitor (set) --> create, you will get to the following screen:in transaction RZ20 select extras --> activate maintenance functions.
3)Go to monitor (set)--> create, you will get to the screen:
4)click <<< new monitor>>> and select create nodes (F5) button from the toolbox icon.
5)select rule node and hit the continue button.

7)Now select <CURRENT> from the match code for the R3 system parameter value and hit the continue button.
Note: pls remember that we are creating a rule Based monitor: we need to make sure NO object checked from the selectable MTE tree.
8) The next step is to create the virtual node to group all the MTEs that we should select from the MTE classes shown in point a. TO do this ,
click on CCMS_DEFINE_R3_SYSTEMS if it is not already selected and hit create nodes (F5) button from the toolbox. now select
virtual node and hit the continue button.
9)in the name field write something like: test rule based monitors and hit the continue button.
10) now click under test rule based monitors to select them and then hit on create nodes (F5)
choose Rule based and hit continue button.
11) On the next screen select CCMS_GET_MTE_BY_CLASS as the rule name and the hit the hit the continue button.
12)Now we need to add each MTE class from point a. to tje following screen on the MTE class
paramater value. select all of them and hit continue button.
13) the next step is to include all MTE classes already defined in point a. you will need to repeat these steps for each
additional class you want to add to the monitor set.
14) After all classes has been included into the monitoring set hit the save button from the toolbox.
15) you will be prompted for a monitor name , write something meaningful.
The new Monitor set should be display

  • Bitlocker without TPM and USB

    Hello Team,
I am working for a company which has  Windows Server 2012 R2 domain server and mixture of Windows 7 and Windows 8 client computers.
The problem is, I need to configure bit-locker in all client machine, but some machine doesn't have TPM. I found a way to configure bit-locker without TPM, but it requires USB(key within it) at every startup.
So I want to configure Bit-locker in all client machine without TPM and USB, but with PIN. And all bit-locker recovery keys should be backed up to Active directory.
Please let me know the steps to configure this rather than HTTP links.
    Thanks in Advance.
Have a great day ahead and make a great day for me.

    Hi.
Having a PIN is only possible in combination with a TPM, but having a password alone is possible since windows 8.

  • Bitlocker with TPM and PIN testing?

    Good day all,
We are about to deploy 10 Surface Pro 3's running Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64. We have enabled the TPM, enabled "Allow Enhanced PINS for Startup", "Pre-boot Keyboard" and turned on Bitlocker through the gui which recommended setting
    a PIN which I did.
Everything seems to work as it should, how can I be convinced TPM and PIN are working together? I seem to be able to punch into Bitlocker many bad passwords without warning or asking me to reboot which is does for all other laptops without tpm.
    1. How many bad password attempts do I get with TPM by default before lockout?
    2. Where is my *.tpm recovery key?
    3. Why when the TPM locks out can I still gain entry by typing in the Bitlocker PIN (not recovery password)
    4. I want TPM to lockout after 5 incorrect attempts.
To test the TPM working I disabled the TPM in the BIOS and on next reboot Bitlocker asked for the Recovery Password which to me proves Bitlocker private encryption keys are safely held in the TPM. Is this safe to presume TPM is working?
here is the output from manage-bde and get-tpm status
       Size:                 59.11 GB
        BitLocker Version:    2.0
        Conversion Status:    Fully Encrypted

        Encryption Method:    AES 128
        Protection Status:    Protection On
        Lock Status:          Unlocked
        Identification Field: Unknown
        Key Protectors:
            TPM And PIN
            Numerical Password
    TpmPresent          : True
    TpmReady            : True

    Hi Paddy,
"1. How many bad password attempts do I get with TPM by default before lockout?"
It depends on the the TPM chips.
"Some TPM chips may not store failed attempts over time. Other TPM chips may store every failed attempt indefinitely. Therefore, some users may experience increasingly longer delays when they mistype an authorization value that is sent to the TPM"
"4.I want TPM to lockout after 5 incorrect attempts."
We can set the group policy "Standard User Individual Lockout Threshold " in this path (Check the detailed information of this policy):
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Trusted Platform Module Services\
Here is a link for reference("About TPM lockout" part and "Use Group Policy to manage TPM lockout settings"part ):
    Manage TPM Lockout
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn466535.aspx
"2. Where is my *.tpm recovery key?"
When we set owner of the TPM ,we will be given a chance to save the TPM passowrd .
And when the BitLocker recovery key is saved to a file, BitLocker also saves a TPM owner password file (.tpm) with the TPM owner password hash value. We also can save them to the AD (Check the group policy in the same path as before). Have you tried to save
the recovery keys to a external media ?
    Here are links for reference:
Reset the TPM Lockout (Check the first part)
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd851452.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Windows Trusted Platform Module Management Step-by-Step Guide(Check "Step 2: Set ownership of the TPM" part )
    https://technet.microsoft.com/pt-pt/library/cc749022%28WS.10%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
"3. Why when the TPM locks out can I still gain entry by typing in the Bitlocker PIN (not recovery password)"
When the TPM is locked out, it is also possible that the user will enter the correct PIN, but the TPM will respond as if the incorrect PIN was entered for a period of time.
Check the "When should I reset the TPM lockout" part .
    Reset the TPM Lockout
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd851452.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
" Is this safe to presume TPM is working?"
From the output of the command line ,we can get the information that the TPM is working .It is not recommended to disable the TPM when the data is encrypted with TPM .

  • XI content for SRM and CCM scenario - mapping

    Hi All,
We are using the standard business content for integrating SRM with CCM to update contract information from SRM to CCM. Both SRM and CCM are on the same system.
The configuration scenario used is MasterDataInclusionInCatalogOnWAS700 which is in the name space SAP CATALOG CONT.MGMT. 2.0_700 , http://sap.com/xi/CCM/CAT.
There are 2 interfaces being referred by this scenario: CatalogUpdateNotification_Out and this CatalogUpdateNotification_In and both the interfaces are pointing to the same meesage type CatalogTransmission but they are in different name spaces.
Once the scenario was configured there was no interface mapping available in the standard business content to map the above 2 interfaces.
    SAP SRM SERVER 5.5
    CatalogUpdateNotification_Out
    CatalogTransmission
    http://sap.com/xi/EBP
    SAP CATALOG CONT.MGMT. 2.0_700 ,
    CatalogUpdateNotification_In
    CatalogTransmission
    http://sap.com/xi/CCM/CAT
Is this the normal case and we need to develop our own mapping or is the standard content not imported correctly?
The service pack details are as follows:
    PI 7.0 SP level 14
    XI content
    u2022 SAP BASIS 7.00 - SP 14
    u2022 SAP CATALOG CONT.MGMT. 2.0_700 - SP 12
    u2022 SAP SRM SERVER 5.5 - SP 11
    u2022 SAP ABA 7.00 - SP 14
    Thanks,
    Shravan

ditto, anybody received a response from SAP with regards to this problem?
As suggested above, we could build our own mapping in XI but this would obviously be a modification to SAP standard which we would prefer to avoid.
    Regards, Kyle.
OK Received a response from SAP dated Oct. 9, 2008
I assume that you have installed NW 7.00 SP14 (or higher).
Within earlier versions the mapping from XML to ABAP was to lax.
The XML message was processed witout regarding the name of the root
element. This was fixed with SP14.
When you call an interface the XML message must match with the type
defined in the WSDL used for proxy generation.
Either the message or the WSDL used to generate the proxy seems to be
    wrong here.
Here is a work around should solve this problem until we make available in a standard note soon.
I will do it internally to our development team but I am sorry that i can not tell now when the note will be ready.
Disable the new check by adding the following entry in transaction sproxset
    -Name: ST_USE_LAX_ON
    -Value: X
    -User: <empty>
    -Inactive: <empty>

  • Alerts in XI and CCMS

I've read some SAP doco talking about a CCMS Central Monitoring System (CEN).
Does that mean having CCMS on it's own Server - and CCMS is monitoring all DEV, QAS and PRD systems.
What is the usual way if you have R/3, BW, XI.  Which box should have CCMS on it ?   Or should it have it's own instance seperated from the rest of them ??

    Hi,
There will be a separate instance of CCMS installed which will do the central administartion for all the components in a landscape. It can be handled by one single administrator....can have many assistants. No need of having a separate instance of CCMS for R3, XI/ PI, etc...the only thing that you need to take of is how to integrate your system with CCMS for monitoring.
The CCMS alert monitoring infrastructure is provided by SAP free of cost.
    For more info: http://www.sap.com/germany/media/mc_386/ccms_monitoring_brief.pdf
Also there is one good SAP article named "CCMS Integration With XI".
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Relationship between Solution Manager Diagnostic and CCMS

We are just now looking at Solution Manager Diagnostics and central monitoring in Solution Manager.  One thing we are not clear on, and haven't seen anything definitive on, is the relationship between these  and CCMS.
Any insight or link to documentation would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jeff Henke

Solution Manager Diagnostics is a diagnostic tool, not a real-time monitoring and alerting tool.  CCMS is for real-time monitoring and alerting, and SMD does in fact get data from your CCMS agents, as well as from saposcol and Wily Introscope.
    Hope that helps,
    David.

  • Performance of DSWP and CCMS settings

    Dear All
We have Solman SP14, connected around 50 systems for EWA and CCMS and trying to add more systems to it.
But the problem is when we execute the T-Code DSWP it is taking very long time  nearly takes 10Min to get the setup monitoring screen, checked all relevant areas Oracle, memory etc.... but no clue can anybody help us out to improve the performance.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Subbarao

    Hi,
I had a similar issue for one of my customers. The solution was easy: Instead of one big Solution Landscape with all monitored systems and all EWA, we splitted it into smaller landscapes. How do you split depends on your requirements. You could for instance create a llandscape with all production systems, ...
Also, maybe you can delete/archive som old EWA.

    Holger

  • Alerts and CCMS

    Hi
#1 I have set up the alert rule and configs. To check the alert processing i had purposely entered wrong file name in my sender CC. I'm able to view the error log in RWB but the alert is not throwing up a mail. How to raise an alert if there the sender or receiver channel are not avaiable?
#2  I had one more scenario where my mapping throwed an execption but alert is not triggering a mail. Do i require BPM for this. If no how to alert the failed messages without BPM?
How to handle these case #1 and #2?
Any useful howto doc on CCMS for triggering alerts is appreciated.
<u><i>Note: No BPM involved in the above two case.</i></u>

  • How to integrate CCMS with RWB component monitoring

    Hi, all.
I am wondering if there is a way to forward errors from the component monitoring and CC monitoring in RWB to CCMS. For example, if a CC is down because somebody changed the CC user or password or disable the CC totally, RWB will show errors in the communication channel monitoring. However, I could not find a way to forward those messages to CCMS so that we can manage it in a centralized way. Any idea?
    Thanks,

  • MBAM System Administrators - Missing Manage TPM and Drive Recovery option - MBAM 2.5

I have installed MBAM 2.5 in a 3 server environment. Every thing is working fine and validated the installation.
But what I have found that the drive recovery tab and Manage TPM is missing for the users member of MBAM System administrators. As there are many changes that comes with MBAM 2.5 and one is exclusion of MBAM local groups.
Everything is perfect for the Advanced Helpdesk and Helpdesk users.
    Gaurav Ranjan

    Hi Gaurav,
As you mentioned, there are no local groups anymore.  During configuration of the Admin portal, you specify AD groups for administration.  We removed the System administrators group because it was kind of redundant.  You could get the same
effect by adding the user to the Advanced Helpdesk and Reporting Users AD groups you specify.  So, if you add whatever user you wanted to be the "system administrator" for MBAM to both of those AD groups, that should solve your problem.  Note you
may have to log out of your machine and back in after adding them to the group so that they get the token, as with any AD group addition.
