TR from Qual to Prod

Hi,
How can we know whether a particular transport request is transported from Quality to Production?If we check in SE09 in quality is that enough?

You can check in SE09, either in DEV or QA.
in SE09, click on the request number, and select 'Transport Logs'. It should display the log of transports associated with that request. Check if the PRD log has entries for Import, Check versions, generation of programs etc.
Please keep in mind that just the 'Selection for Import' just not mean that the request is transported, it means that the request is still in the PRD transport queue.
Another way to check would be open the program in SE38, and use version management for remote comparision with PRD.

    i am getting the error while tarnsporting the PC  from qual to prod.I have introduce only AND event in PC and change one Attrib Change step.
    In TR i have collected PC,Event,Attrib Change step.
    But while transporting it result in error at one DTP step.I have checked the corresponding DTP is present there in Prod but with diffrent technical name.
    As far as i know it should have replace the corresponding DTP present in prod..
    Is this the error from BI side or connection error between system from basis.
    Or is this something related to system being out of sync with eachother.

    Hi Deepak,
    When you migrate DTPs from Dev to Prod , a new DTP ID are generated in Prod system and your DTP in the Process chain points to Dev's DTP and that is why you get this error
    What i can think of is this scenario:
    1. Original chain created and transported to Production. There due to some requirement the DTP would have changed(some body deletd the original one and created new one). Now the existing chain in production have the new DTP created there.
    2. When u tried transporting the original chain from Dev it had the DTP created initially.
    3. Since the DTP existing in Prod is having a different technical name than the one initially created in Dev so due to this this mismatch it might not get activated.
    4. So better to create the DTP there itself and add it to the chain.

  • Moving XI transports from QA to Prod server

    Hello,
    We are getting ready to send our XI transports from the QA server to the production server.  We are currently using the file transfer method - we have not yet finished setting up the CMS server. 
    Now my question is this:
    For the Integration Repository, am I supposed to send the same file created from our dev server to the production server, or do I create a new transport file from our QA box and send that file to production?  Same question applies to the Integration Directory. 
    For example, the FileA.tpz gets created in the dev server, exported to the QA server.  Developers are done testing in QA and want to move the objects to production.  Should I export the same FileA.tpz to the production box OR generate a new transport file from the QA server (FileB.tpz) and send that to production box instead?

    Ideally you should move from Dev  to QA and from QA to Prod. Then everything will be in sync. If you move directly from Dev to Prod and if there any changes then they will not be in QA. So this should not happen.
    Because only after developement you will move to QA. Once when you test in QA then you will move to Production from QA.

  • Migration of Web Analysis Report thru LCM (from QA to Prod )

    When we tried to migrate Web Analyasis Report from QA to Prod using LCM, Security is wiping out in Prod after migration of that WA Report. Can anyone suggest how to retain the security of report after migration in Prod environment.

    I have checked migration utility inversion 9.x basically this migration utility is compatible for reports from version 7.x to 9.x and it is not supported for reports from 9.x to 11.x ....
    So i have finally fallowed a procedure.
    I have exported the reports from 9.x and imported in 11.x .
    Then after exporting i have pointed database connections to new 11.x version server.
    Now I was facing a issue when i open a reports in read only mode (i.e as a business user) iam getting a screen where it asks for database details ( I have assigned business user read access to essbase)
    Basically this reports are pointing to my old essbase server i.e version 9.x server.
    Please let me if iam missing something while exporting and importing reports.

  • Error while importing request from DEV to PROD

    Dear Experts,
                      i am having the problems with request no.. There are two transport request nos and these have to be transported
                     from DEV to PROD. I relesed these two but while importing into PROD showing everthing completed successfully
                      with one error and error is Generation or programs and screens  for both transport  requests .
                      I am just enable to understand what this message is for ..
                       Please someone help me out in this....

    First check the source system: ZSTGLDV110 is exists or not. check the rfc connections (Also check the source system assignment in both the system to each other). check the settings in the stms tcode. check the suppoet pack on your quality system,.... there are plenty of reasons.

  • Problem in Uploading Data From R/3 Prod to BW Development

    When i transfer master data from R/3 prod to Bw prod,it upload data to infobject what i schedule first.if i schedule for second infobject,it remains in processing.
    Eg: I upload 0Division and 0Material from R/3 prod to Bw prod.If i schedule 0divisionfirst, it will update data.If I schedule next to 0Material,in monitor it shows "(0 records from 0) ".If i restart the Bw prod and i update 0material then it will update.again for next infobject it shows "(0 records from 0)".if i restart Bw Prod it solved.but the same problem for other infobject.

        Did you try to check the connection b/w ypur source system and the target system?
    You can do it by executing T.Code RSA1-> Select Source Systems-> Right click your source system-> Check.
    Also, pls check ST22 for any short dumps and SM21 for system logs.

  • Not updating Prompts when report is moved from Dev to Prod

    Hi,
    I have a report In development which uses a Prompt ( Dynamic Lov) pointed to an existing prompt group.
    When this report is moved to production the prompt does not give any values as the it is not pointed to any prompt group.
    Could any one help me why the prompt is not being updated when it is moved from DEV to PROD.

  • How to use the repository; uploading reports from DEV to PROD...

    I'm fairly new to CR-XIr2 (SP3) but have worked with Crystal Reports since v6.0.  I'm trying to figure out how to create a dynamic parameter list that someone can select an item from, which will get sent as an input parameter to the SQL Server 2005 stored proc that populates the report.  I'm also trying to figure out if there's an easy way to copy reports from a DEV environment into PROD.  We have BOE.
    Basically, I would like to find out resources online or in books on how to use the BOE repository for dynamic and/or cascading parameters (i.e. pulling a list of text values & their associated IDs from a lookup table that won't be used in the report), images (i.e. corporate logo), etc..  What complicates things for us is that IT is now requiring us to use a DEV environmentit was really easy when we had unlimited access in PROD!  We also need to put together a process where reports & other repository objects that are copied from DEV to PROD access the correct db, etc.  (Crystal Report in DEV accesses DEV db/repository/etc.when copied to PROD it accesses PROD db/repository/etc.)
    Anyway, I'm just looking for info on where to begin--whether it be a book, a BO/SAP knowledge base article, in-class training from a specific company, etc.  Thanks!

    Can you let me know the process you have followed to migrate from Dev to Prod.
    We can migrate all the reports and objects and database fields through migrate wizard where you can import all the objects, reports and database fields and users to production enterprise.
    Just follow the above scenario and let us know if you are facing any error.
    Try  publish the reports using import wizard and run it in the crystal designer.

  • Problems when transporting from DEV to PROD

    Hi experts, I have problem during transport from DEV to Production.
    We have a  DEV, QAS and PRODUCTION and we have transport from DEV to QAS very well. But when we transport from DEV to PROD, recibe an error  like:

    I have published some reports in workspace manually earlier. But, now i have so many reports which i need to migrate from Test to Prod.
    Please suggest the steps, and how to handle the OCE files and Security.

    Notice:
    1. Oracle puts OAF customization together with Oracle seeded customizations. It's impossible to tell them apart just from the OAF MDS document names.
    2. Using responsibility_id in the document name to get the application_id from the apps table, you'll get an different application_id than the application_id in the document name.
    3. The function_id in the document name is not consistent with the function_id in the apps table. The function_id in apps table has null value.

    You may also use a PC to migrate OAF MDS from TEST to PROD. Instead of running an Unix script on the TEST or PROD mid-tier, you may write a batch file and run it on your PC.

  • No of physical reads of buffers from disk on PROD and Clone has huge differ

    Please help !
    I am having a problem interpreting a tkprof report.
    I am executing the same statement below in PROD and Clone of PROD.
    What I do not understand why the tkprof report shows huge difference in disk reads for same executions from PROD and Clone of PROD. I.e. first execution disk reads = 757187 , second = 6.
    I expected to see Similar disk reads in the second execution also.The data it fetches is same in both the Instances.

    As others have pointed out, this looks like a change in execution plan. At a guess, the PROD database is doing a tablescan somewhere (physical reads is approximately equal to logical reads is a pointer).
    There are many reasons why this could happen, continuing with the guesswork - we note that the statement was re-optimised (hard parsed) in the clone, but used an existing cursor in production (logical I/O = 0 in prod, 789 in clone). So the plan you got in the clone was the one that Oracle thought best for the inputs you had supplied. The plan in prod could have been produced as the response to a completely different set of input; since you have two bind variables applied to a range based predicated and one bind variable with equality it's possible that you have a histogram that makes a difference on the equality column, alternatively the range of dates used to generate the original plan was very different from the range used in the test.

         Please provide the standard methods and checks to be done in the transport requests before moving the objects from DEv to PROD.
    Please help us here.

    In se10 find your request and
    Upper left corner - Request\task -> Complete check -> Object (syntax check) and Check Request Consistency.
    This you can do for your request and all the tasks included in your request.
    Note: Transport may still fail due to numerous reason (i.e) not all the objects needed are collected in the request,
    but at atleast it gives some assurance that objects are not blocked in other requests etc...

  • Catalog Migration from Dev to Prod

    Hello,
    Certain users of our system are unable to login to OBIEE after we migrate to Prod. Getting the below error
    access denied for user to path /users/*USERNAME*/_portal/dashboard layout
    USERNAME is the userid used to login to obiee
    In our Prod, Users have access to Answers and hence they save their reports under My Folders.
    While we migrate the new set of dashboards and reports from Dev to prod, we overwrite the System, System.atr, Shared, Shared.atr files of Prod with the corresponding files from Dev. Thus retaining the Users and Users.atr files of Prod.
    Security: All are users/pwd are stored in the RPD
    Is there something wrong with the migration procedure or is it a bug?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    +2) Why did you migrate the "System, System.atr" ? Try without this one, but just the "shared" folders and files.+
    System, System.atr are migrated since this folder stores the Privileges and data formatting etc. These configurations need to be migrated to prod as well.
    However I tried what you suggested and USERNAME is able to login and see the dashboards. But the Privileges and data formatting changes in Dev didnt get into Prod
    There is a Security folder under System. Do you know what it is used for. Should I try to retain this folder in Prod?I don't really know.
    The object permissions (like report permissions) are supposed to be in ATR file (i think so...), but there are other permissions and security things everywhere.
    But i appears to be a clue to solve your problem.
    +3) Do you have a backup of the previous Prod webcatalog ? If so, try to copy the USERNAME/_portal content into the new one.+
    This might work, but I really need to identify what is the root cause for this since we have migrations bi-weekly and this issue might pop-up again for a different userOf course. I just suggested that to see if if the /username/_portal were really different, despite you didn't upgrade them.
