Trace file is missing
Hi,
The trace file of an application GDS in a production MDM system was missing.Where as it was present in Development MDM System.Compared all the preoperties in log configurator.Also checked the severity levels and other info in log viewer.They were same.Can anyone help me what do I need to change to get the trace file found.
Does any XML file needs to be changed in config tool or visual admin?If so, where?Please help.
Thanks,
Sudheer
wrong forum, don't think this is fall under appl server area.
please check with MDM Forum, as GDS is under MDM area.

Details missing in default trace file of XI
Hi Experts,
I am doing RFC to RFC scenario. I am getting checkered flag in SXMB_MONI. But for some reason i am not getting the details of my scenario in the default trace of XI. I'm not sure if the detiails of scenarios involving RFC's will be updated in the trace files. If yes, please help me in finding the reasons as to why it is not heppening in my case.
Thanks and Regards,
Hari.Hi,
Increase your logging/ Tracing levels in the Integration engine configuration to see the synchronous message in the SXMB_MONI.
1.Execute SXMB_ADM in the ABAP stack of XI
2.Navigate to Configuration --> Integration Engine Configuration --> Change Specific Configuration Data
Set the following:
Category : Runtime
Parameter : LOGGING_SYNC
value : 1 (activated)
Parameter : TRACE_LEVEL 3
value : 3 (activated)
For information on how to activate and deactivate traces, see the following SAP Note: 532918 (RFC Trace Generation)

Continual library cache misses in trace file for spatial queries
Hi all,
Could somebody explain to me how the SQL parse engine works for spatial queries.
My understanding is that Oracle creates a hash value for SQL that is parsed with no errors. This hash value is then stored in the library cache ready to be matched against other incoming SQL statements. This provides one of the main reasons for using parametising SQL in languages such as PL/SQL, .Net etc and improves performance on query intensive applications.
However i have noticed that for spatial, any queries except for refreshes of identical ones already sent, the SQL engines re parses the query. This can take upto 0.2 seconds which is causing a performance bottle neck.
When looking at the full trace file of a single spatial query using SDO_FILTER with a query window the amount of additional internal queries that are performed is quiet a lot. Are these additional queries included in the total parse time?
I am wondering why for spatial queries the only way to get a hit in the library cache was to refresh an exact same SQL that had been previously sent?
Thanks
DanielThose additional internal queries are not included in the parse time,
if they are used in the execution time.

I gained a new database - and if it didnt have data in it or a PRODUCTION box I'd rebuild!
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition SP2 running 10g 10.2.0.3
Management Packs active: Database Diagnostics, Database Tuning, Database Configuration
user_dump_dest = c:\oracle\admiprod\udump
Executing:
select
u_dump.value || '/' ||
db_name.value || '_ora_' ||
v$process.spid ||
nvl2(v$process.traceid, '_' || v$process.traceid, null )
|| '.trc' "Trace File"
from
v$parameter u_dump
cross join v$parameter db_name
cross join v$process
join v$session
on v$process.addr = v$session.paddr
where
u_dump.name = 'user_dump_dest' and
db_name.name = 'db_name' and
v$session.audsid=sys_context('userenv','sessionid');
Results: C:\oracle\admin\prod\udump/prod_ora_388.trc (NOTE THE "/" IS CODED TO RETURN AS SUCH)
YET prod_ora_388.trc is NOT found at C:\oracle\admin\prod\udump OR anywhere on the C or associated D drives - any idea what is going on here, and if so how to correct it so the trc does show up?Did You enabled session tracing for that particular user?
If not, the of course You will find no trace file, just the possible name will be returned and path.
For first enable tracing, then look at trace directory for particular file.
And / is returned just because script is for unix. In your case you should replace it with \ as it is windows env.
and it's easier to identify trace files just adding some identifier to them with
alter session set tracefile_identifier ="some_name";
then in udump dierctory just search for this name. -

Ora-00604 error while taking tkprof of a trace file
Sorry i am giving the full erro but omitting exact table names
Hi ,
I have an error while taking tkprof of a trace file.
I gave the following command ---
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela explain= /
error is --
Error in create table of EXPLAIN PLAN table : unix_session_user.prof$paln_table
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-20001: Step-6:DDL

'Override')
ORA-06512: at line 162
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled
user-defined exception
EXPLAIN PLAN option disabled.
i searched for the error and in oracle forum i found a solution .. http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=844287&tstart=0
but after giving the table option it is giving the same error
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=old_schema.plan_table explain= /
it again gave the same error.
In both two cases it gives elapsed time results,library cache missing etc but before giving this it throws ORA-00604 error as stated above
then i again correct the tkprof statement ..
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=new_schema.plan_table explain= /
say this schema name here i used is dummy schema name.
My question is did this error came as we had not sufficient previlages in the old_schema but that previleges we have in new_schema?
My databse version is 9.2.0.4.0
Thanks in advance

Edited by: bp on Feb 3, 2009 11:40 PMPlease post here full error message, there should be lines with ORA-00604 and then some other ORA as well.
And are there any trace files generated during this error?
And as You can see from error description, probably You will have to contact with Oracle support in order to solve this case:

ERROR - "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing."
Every time I open iTunes I'm getting the following error:
"iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."
This started after I installed iTunes 8.0.2.20 on my PC (running Windows XP SP3) to get the latest version after purchasing an iPhone.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, & fixing iTunes. I've also tried uninstalling & reinstalling Quicktime using versions 7.3.1.70 & 7.55.90.70. With 7.3.1.70 installed I got an error stating something like iTunes 8.0.2.20 is only compatible Quicktime 7.55.90.70 & to reinstall iTunes.
No matter what I do the same error message appears whenever I try to access iTunes.
I can get into iTunes immediately after an install if I remove Quicktime & clean my Windows registry but if I then close iTunes & reopen it I get the missing file error.
I'm not having this problem with my wife's PC running Vista & iTunes 8.0.2.20.
This is starting to get VERY frustrating. Please, if anyone can help I would GREATLY appreciate it.Seriously ***!!!
I thought I hit some gold with this:
http://zardozz.com/zz/2008/04/how-to-completely-uninstall-and-remove-all-traces- of-itunes.html
I picked up Revo Uninstaller per the above directions here:
http://www.download.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html
& proceeded setting to work cleaning out the complete Apple suite as directed. 5 hours later, after downloading a brand new copy of iTunes, & having supposedly removed all traces of anything Apple, I'm right back where I was, getting the same "required files are missing" error!
I've got a $300 iPhone that I can't use properly because their software won't play nice.
Like I said at the beginning of this post ***! Now I'm beginning to move from agitated to flat out angry! >:-(
Does ANYONE know what else I can try, or if there is a phone number I can call to get some technical support from Apple? -

Can anybody tell me what conditions would cause this error?well yes:
panel.addGLEventListener(new GLR());
"GLR" implements "GLEventListener" and defines the required methods
I installed the Netbeans OpenGL Pack on NetBeans 6.5 and there is a problem with that...mh :(
Ok I also tried to create a GLPanel-Sample-Project and modify it but netbeans don't know "javax.swing.GroupLayout;" I installed the JDK as well.
mh what can i do: try to fix my actual error or try to get GroupLayout in java.swing^^ -
I have been working on the same numbers file for the past few weeks. The last time I opened it was 1 week ago. Today when I tried to open it I am unable and getting a message that the file is invalid and the index.xml file is missing.
Hi Tracie,
I upgraded to Maverick OS X 10.9.5, numbers spreadsheet is saved. Upon re-opening, it appears to be frozen, a warning "file is invalid as index.xml file is missing". I checked, and the file is not "locked". This appears to occur only with using the new numbers app. When I open previous spreadsheets from old iWorks, no such problem occurs.
How did you resolve your problem?
Would appreciate any help here.
Thanks,

DevonORA-00904: string: invalid identifier
Cause: The column name entered is either missing or invalid.
Action: Enter a valid column name. A valid column name must begin with a letter, be less than or equal to 30 characters, and consist of only alphanumeric characters and the special characters $, _, and #. If it contains other characters, then it must be enclosed in double quotation marks. It may not be a reserved word.
This means that you are trying to put some thing which Oracle can't understand. I wouldn't be worried about the performance of the query since it would be a question once the query would run. So check the query why its throwing this error.

Does the use of CONNECT BY Clause degrades performance?

loop
select val into i from a where par = 'Bar';

exit;

end loop;
end loop;Tables A and t is very small tables. So table t is empty.
As you can see, expected than will be works loop and select from very small table.
I have executed the block, and it works about 477 seconds.

1. How do you think, lost time is time spent
a. in PLSQL engine during context switch,
b. or lost time is time spent in SQL processing where CPU time is less than minimum accurancy (0.01s)
c. or time lost during write in trace file (trace overhead)?
2. Value c=10000 is accumulated value? I think no, may be I am wrong?
But if I right, and time of processing was smaller than 0.01s, CPU time in tkprof will equal to zero, right?
And from this point of view, strange that CPU time and elapsed time is near.
3. Write in trace file is included into "elapsed time" in tracefile steps, e.g. "execute" and "fetch"?
In other words I want more deeply understand process of SQL processing and trace.What version of Oracle are you using?
Can you post the entire contents of the trace file? -
I am not able to see the trace files for SQL query
Hello, I am using windows vista OS.

I enabled the trace as below
alter system set timed_statistics=TRUE
alter system set sql_trace=TRUE
After this, I ran sql query from scott as below.
select count(*) from emp;
After this, i checked in user dump directory. The trace files are generating... But this sql code is not appearing in the trace files...
Am i missing anything... Any help is appreciated.
ThanksThis may happen when the trace file is not completely closed.You may try again doing like this,
alter session set sql_trace=true;
select * from emp;
alter session set sql_trace=false;After this,disconnect and exit from your session as well. This should close the file completely and you should be able to see your command in it.

Interpreting Trace File.
Hi i am using 10.2.0.4.0 version of oracle.
I am having trace file info as below, for one of the query. So how should i interpret the trace file? What is the issue in the query, and the scope of improvement in the query? please note that , i have removed the query and its plans from the trace file, i have only posted the wait sections.
