Can someone help. For the last week I have had a bad hop. I am responsible for monitoring the server for hacks and I keep getting a status server dump. I never, never had this before. Do I need to pay for a Tec to help me. Let me know how I go about remedying the situation. Getting really bad every day that goes by. Below is from Sunday.

Bad hop in connection to game server from Tampa area in FL

See my trace below from PingPlotter. It shows a bad connection at hop 6 to teliasonera. I talked to a few friends that have helped me along this far, but they don't know how to resolve a bad hop. This has been happening for almost a week now to a server in Chicago. Destination ip is 50.31.112.213. How to hide trace route layer 3 hop?

My set up is MPLS router--- Internet edge-------ISP
I am advertising public ip prefix from MPLS to internet edge and then to ISP
when i trace route from internet to the public prefix i advertised, i am seeing the MPLS private IP which is expected.
Basically i wanted to hide this from the trace route results i.e, when the user tries to trace route to the public ip from the internet he should NOT see the private ip at all. "no icmp unreahcable" might give a * result in the trace route last hop but i wanted hide it .. is it possible?

Traceroutes takes into account the TTL value, be it MPLS packet or IP packet.
on the edge of the IP & MPLS network , TTL field get copied from one to another & the traceroute works properly. But "no mpls ip propagate-ttl" can diable this automatic copying the TTL value field. Hence, your traceroute will drop on edge/boundary, this generally done by ISP to hide their ip address from the traceroute path.

To control the generation of the time-to-live (TTL) field in the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) header when labels are first added to an IP packet, use the mpls ip propagate-ttl command in global configuration mode. To use a fixed TTL value (255) for the first label of the IP packet, use the no form of this command.

no mpls ip propagate-ttl [forwarded | local]

Bad Hop from LAX to Netherlands? FIOS in Upland, ca

I just noticed that my connection went from grabbing files from the netherlands on a linux debian site ftp.nl.debian.org at 2000k/s to 20k/s i did a trace route and noticed this:

Is this outside of something verizon can repair or has anyone heard of any line problems? BTW loving fios got it here in Upland, Ca on dec 24th!

Everything im checking in .nl it seems the bad hop is coming from LAX so not sure how far outside that is verizon network. Hopefully it repairs soon

I couldn't find the cryptography software specifically for windows 2008 server 64 bit ? So I downloaded the software for windows server 64 bit platform.
Do any one have idea on this...

Yes, there is no specific cryptography software for windows server 2008 and whatever u have chosen is correct.
Fom the following error message I could see where the issue arises.
Can't write file : "C:\Users\soladm\sec\local.pse"
I think you have not set the following ENV variable for the SAPRouter admin user (in your case soladm) and hence the sapgenpse tries to import the certificate in the SOLADM user's document folder.
Set the following variables for the user SOLADM and then try to import the certificate as mentioned in the [link|http://service.sap.com/saprouter-sncdoc].
SECUDIR = E:\usr\sap\saprouter
SNC_LIB = E:\usr\sap\saprouter\nt-x86_64\sapcrypto.dll

Incoming email - Routing rules on exchange server 2003

I am configuring SAP system to receive emails as per note 455140. We currently have only one client and have updated necessary profile parameters including setting SMTP port to 25 for incoming mails. We have specified our enterprise exchange server 2003 as the mail server in SCOT transaction and are able to send out emails from SAP without issues, but cannot receive emails in SAP.
Following note 607108, I am able to receive emails in the SAP system using telnet test (by passing mail server), thereby I believe all relevant configuration settings in SAP system have been correctly maintained. Now, if I try to send an email to SAP user from another SAP system or Microsoft Outlook or Internet, these emails are not being received in SAP. No inbound traces are generated in SAP since the mail has not been received by SAP.
As part of the config, our server admins have set up a rule on mail server to forward specific emails to SAP system. Does anyone have any insight into what might be the issue here? Also, if someone can provide links/directions on how to setup routing rules on exchange server 2003 to forward specific requests to SAP system (I believe this is where our issue is).

Hello Markus,
By specific, I meant emails addressed to specific users need to be forwarded to SAP. Instead of specifying *ATcompany.com --> WebASHost:25000, we put in a rule userATcompany.com --> WebASHost:25000
Based on your response, I asked SAP support whether there is such restriction when SU01 email address and exchange email address are same, exchange will not forward to SAP. Below is there response
"SAPconnect like most mail platforms route mails via the email address.
SAP recommends the following:-
UserATClient.SID.company.com
I know that a DNS entry will have to be written for this to be routed
to your Exchange server for relay into SAP.
The only other recommendation is to use the local part of the mail
address to route the mails. This will not require an external DNS
entry but every new user will have to be updated in Exchange.
User.client.sidATcompany.com
There are no other way of correctly routing mails other than these
methods. Thank you."
Now SAP says when email addresses are same and if we put in a rule based on local part of the mail, it should still forward.
Since the issue is through exchange, SAP will not provide further support to resolve this and we cannot go with sub-domains currently due to business requirements.

ASA 5525 firewall Trace Route.

We are Having ASA 5525 firewall and Whenever I am performing traceroute passing through the firewall and i am not getting any hop count after firewall( Firewall IP is also not shwoing in Trace Route.
ICMP I had allowed and also configure ICMP in the Policy_Map global Policy.
PLease help me to resolve this issue.

firewall blocks Traceroute as doesnt decrements the TTL value by default. You would need the following to enable the same:

Trace Route Doesn't Return DNS Name

I changed from a Linksys E4200 to a 5505 and when I use trace route, it doesn't return a DNS name for each hop. I can see the hops shown as asterisks. Do I have to add something to inspect for this to work?

You could try the following. (Depending if your "policy-map" configuration is as its default settings)
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
inspect icmp error
inspect icmp
Then you could add the following to your ACL attached to your "outside" interface or configure a new ACL to your "outside" interface if it doesnt yet exist
access-list OUTSIDE-IN remark Allow ICMP return messages
access-list OUTSIDE-IN permit icmp any any unreachable
access-list OUTSIDE-IN permit icmp any any time-exceeded
access-list OUTSIDE-IN permit icmp any any echo-reply
access-group OUTSIDE-IN in interface outside
You will naturally use the existing ACL if you have one. If no ACL exists you can use the above configuration as it is.

All the DTP jobs are routing to one application server

HI all,
DTP process job is triggering 3 child jobs all those child jobs are going to one application server, we have many DTP jobs all the jobs are routing to one paticular server that is causing application server to be hang(high cpu, memory utilization) .could you please suggest me in the process chain, is BI team can assign the application, i am not getting why dtp child jobs are executing only one application server, i have obesereved since 10 days it is happening. could you please suggest me how we can over come this.

Check tcode RSBATCH, If I'm not wrong DTP_LOAD process type is assigned to application server on which these DTP jobs are running. Remove that application server name and save.
Again use RSBATCH, under 'Background and Parallel Processes' tab, click 'Switch Off F4 Popup for Server/Host/Group', enter *** (star) under Users for 'Users for Whom NO Server/Host/Group Popup Should be Processed'. Now activate the PC and execute and check the DTP jobs.
Since u have 4 Appln Servers, best bet would be creating a server group. See the below link.

However I can't make it run, no matter what! :S

Medal of Honor PowerPC

I bought an old FPS classic that I used on my Windows machine. This was brand new in, in the box and wrapped and on the outside it showed it was compatable with Mac (or so I thought). It had a little squre Mac miley face logo on the game.
It is the Medal of Honor: Breakthrough edition.
It will not play.
My Mac will not support "PowerPC"? What is that and what do I have to do to get the game rnning. The ealy MOH games were fun on Windows and I would just like to try this old game on my brand new Mac Book Pro since I have not found a lot of FPS games I would like for the Mac.

From the message, it appears you are trying to eject the Crossover disk image. It also appears that Crossover is still running, or left something running. You might try logging out then back in (or restarting). Another option is to start Activity Monitor, find Crossover on the list of processes, stop that process, then eject the disk image.
From the Crossover site, these are the Medal of Honor games that have been tested or reported on:
Allied Assault Breakthrough, if that is one of the ones you have, gets a "silver" medal, meaning it runs well but is not flawless.

Also you may want to open tcp port 625 so that you can update the server's OD master.

well, i recently bought Hp ProBook 4520s. it is great,fast and i really like it but it has a problem, i can't run MMORPGs or other games that have good graphics like Medal of honor and generals zero hour and counter strike and that stuff. when i analysed my laptop using few programs and websites i found such a strange thing. it should run these games perfectly but just got 1 simple problem. it seems like if it got no video card !!!! Do you know what kind of graphics card you are supposed to have? Try to reinstall the drivers for your model. Click this link to go the HP Support. You can click "Automatically detect it" to get the right model. It should take you to the support page for your model. It will have the drivers you need.

You probably need a dedicated graphics card for those games. Intel HD Graphics isn't made for gaming.

No routes downloaded from TACACS server to ISDN router

I have a problem concerning an ISDN router and TACACS server. The router is configured with "aaa route download 1" and is supposed to receive route from the TACACS server.
However, we never recieve any routes. Seems like the TACACS server (10.165.30.55) just read END-OF-FILE. As can be seen from the log file.
The log file generated by "debug tacacs events" is attached together with sh ver and sh config.
The TACACS is CiscoSecure ACS for Windows 2000/NT, Release 3.0(2) Build 5
Any help will is appreciated.
