Trace the updates on a Bex query

Hi Team,
Recently One of our Bex query got updated with new CKF & RKF by one of developer. But i don't know what are the changes that he made to that query.
How can i get the total changes made by him and on what date he made this changes and what was previous definition of this query.
Can somebody assist me getting answers for above query .

Hi,
cross check the production query and developement query for specific query.
in BI system use the tcode- SLG1 giving the date and time - you will find.

Then what is the use of creating Bex query in development and transport it in quality and then to production if we can create directly in production ?

There is something called as SOX compliance..and three system landscape.
First of all you are not suppose to make changes to standard qeuries.
You can give it to the client a new copied query wirth required changes and it is very much accepted as well but how will it be tracked for future support.
Suppose there is a change in the underlying cube...this will affect all the queries and the new copied query which no one knows about will be affected too.How will you test it if its workinf fine with the new flow.
If you want to do the testing in production as well.... then you are not following SAP guidelines and may be you are violating the contract signed by you and your client.

Enabling the Reporting Tools WAD, BEX Query Designer in BI 7.0

Hi friends,
Recently we installed BI 7.0 system with SP 13 and now we want to connect to the reporting tools WAD, BEX Query designer, When I am selecting the BI system and after entering the login details we are encountering a error msg" connection to the gate way is failed".
If any one has a solution please post a reply.

Field Explorer in Crystal Reports does not show the same names as Bex Query

Hi
I have crystal reports, I can retrieve data from BW Bex Query. But in the field explorer it does not show the names as in the Bex query designer.
In the Bex query designer a field will have the following technical name 0Debitor and the description is Customer.
It shows in crystal reports in the field explorer twice as D[0DEBITOR]D and D[0DEBITOR]D. It also does not seperate key figures and characteristics.
I would like it to display the field explorer as shown in this blog.

make sure you are using the MDX Driver and what happens is that you will see several fields per characteristic. example: one for the key, one for the description, several if modelled for the display attributes

How to Hide the Column Heading of BEx Query Output

I Designed BEx Query for BO Xcelsius, at the time of showing Bex Report in Xcelsius
it is displaying the like

we need display without keyfigure - row like follwing ( when we run report on analyzer it showing without keyfigure - row,but problem is when we Run in web)

We do not have any direct setting in BEx to do it. You can write a VB macro code in BEx to achieve this.

Hide the row structure in Bex query

Hi Experts,
i have a query regarding display of report in Bex Analyzer. I have two structures in report one in Row & other in Column. In row have only one field against which there are two columns having figures
my query is as follows:
Is this possible that if I hide the filed in Row ie, if i hide the only field from row then the column fields will always displayed or they also get hide.
is there any possible way to do so, ie if i want to display the column fields / structure only, even after hiding the row field

In your scenario, hiding the row will cause the columns to also disappear in the output. Can you explain why you want to hide the row?

How make default values in the selection criteria of BEx query????

Hi all
I have to create a brand new query, in the selection criteria(Prompts) I have two prompts. one prompt should show current budget year and second prompt should show next budget year, both prompts are mandatory and default.
Can any one please let me know how to obtain current and next budget year??? do I need to write any customer exit or do i need to create a offset???
Two prompts are using same infoobject 0fiscper which is mapped to ECC Table MBEW and field is LFGJA.

so you want to show user with two prompts one will show current year and the other next year value by default.
//tell me that if you user change the current year value for ex: it will show 2011 by default.. and user changed it to 2009.
you want to show 2009 year results or 2011 even though he changed the prompt.
Here i'm considering that even though user changed current year to some other year still you want to show the current year results.
Create a customer exit variable for calyear with ready for input (checked).
customer exit code in CMOD :
when ' customer exit var for cal year'
IF I_step = 1.
clear l_S_range.
l_S_range-low = sy-datum+0(4).
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
L_s_RANGE-opt = 'EQ'.
ENDIF.
if i_step = 2.
data: zyear(4) type c.

appen l_s_range to e_t_range.
after this create a variable offset
create a new selection in the structure, drag the KF and calyear restricted by current year variable . Copy the same selection and insert it as a new selection, go back to the calyear restriction, right clik on the variable. specify variable offset and enter + 1.

SAP BW ,BEX query,Infocube with the universe problem

Hi gurus,
Plz throw some light....
1. Now i can create the universe on the top of each bex query,but how to select 2 or more query in the singel universe itself.Because this leads to me to create lot of universe.

2. I dont have option to select the infocube..how i can select the infocube???only folder is there,when i click on it,bex query is there,but how to select the INFOCUBE??

3. In the particular folder(infocube) itself i cant find the all the bex query available...for eg:i have 20 bex query in SAP BW but i see only 5 querys in universe...
plz guide me gurus...

Unable to sequence the prompts as mentioned in Bex Query

Hi,
We are unable to sequence the prompt order in web i report which is build up on Bex query.
We have follwed the prompts order in Bex query,
When we build a web i report the sequence of prompts is not coming as expected, rather its taking in alphabetical order.
Please help us in ordering the sequence of the prompts in Web i.

Part of this other post I just answered, so I'll leave the same info here...
This is a known behavior, but I know it is bugging more people, because the same is true for (normal) universe based prompts.
They also cannot be 'arranged'. Since the Bex query is the 'universe', ordering that has been set in the 'universe' is the only chance you have.
Like with the universe you could use prefixes to separate them from the query defined prompts (based on an alphabetic sort of the prompt message). I'd say this is a good one for the idea place...

BEx Query Output Not Visible on the Dashboard.

Hi All,
I have a Dashboard which include 2 BEx Queries in it. When my end-user displays the Dashboard, he is able to see the result of one BEx Query and there is no result on from the second BEx Query. Both the queries are from same InfoCube and relevant authorizations have been provided to end-user.
Now, when I run the Dashboard, I am able to see both the Queries output on the Dashboard. I am sure, its must be some authorization issue, but I have provided all authorizations needed which were suggested by SAP to my end-user and the fact that they can see the result from one query and not from other confuses the things.
Would appreciate some inputs...

Now I did the further investigation using ST01 and guess what are checks were green..the authorization objects checked were below...

I would really appreciate some suggestions, should I open a SAP message or am I missing something...

Drilldown in BeX Query Designer

Hello,
I am new in SAP. I am having problem creating Drill down. I have this report where all the data is Transactional data. So I haven't created any Master Data. So I won't be able to use Navigational Attribute for Drill down purpose and I don't want to use Hierarchy. Is there any possibility of getting the Drill down in BeX Query Designer? Any help will be appreciated.

first of all, what is your requirement to create a drill down?
A drill down in BEx query means showing additional information from report output. There are 3 ways to drill down a query in BEx
1. Master data-Navigational Attributes
2. Master data- Hierarchies
3. Free characteristics
As you dont have any master data in the report (which is very strange) you can use the additional characteristics provided in the 'Free characteristics' to see how the drill down works in BEx.
Please share your exact requirement.

Example : I have 8 items for vendorNo 200274 and only 4 as above condition and 5 items as not L(delete)
requament: % RFQ Without Response:
Percentage of Quotation response ={(No. of RFQReponses Received/ No. of RFQ items sent)*100},
                                                               ( 4/5 * 100= 80%)
Percentage RFQ without response= 100 - Percentage of Quotation response
                                                              = 100-80 = 20%

Hope you have done some groundwork you have done on this requirement. Have you tried to create New Formula and put the required formula in it to calculate Percentage of Quotation response ?
Your formulas seems to be straight forward.
Keep in Filter: item Not = L category =A status =RFQ
You may start working on it and get back with if you are struck.

If you are worried about the performance of Underlying BEX query then you can check following things,
1) Use only required characteristics in the initial drilldown and put remaining in Free chars.
2) Use Aggregates or BIA Index if you have BIA available.
3) Enable OLAP Cache
4) Use of precalculated web templates
