  • Possible audio latency issues due to acpi.sys

Hello, I use Vista to run the digital DJ program, Traktor. While I've never had any latency issues before, they recently started cropping up and I ran LatencyMon to see where the problem could be. It appears that the problem may be the service, acpi.sys,
as it had the highest execution of 1.2, which is fairly high. I've tried using Process Explorer and entering into the BIOS to turn off acpi.sys, but wasn't able to. Is there really any way of disable this service?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
As this issue did not occur before, system restore can be under consideration.
To disable the feature, you can also go to Device Manager, expand System Devices.
This issue can occur due to hardware or software conflictions. Let us try the steps below to narrow down the cause of the issue. Please check if we can boot in Win7 normally:
    Device Clean Boot
    ==============
In this situation, your system will only have the basic hardware devices and it should be more stable. If it is inconvenient to unplug the devices, we can disable them in Device Manager. Please refer to the following steps:
    1. Click "Start", type "DEVMGMT.MSC" in the Search textbox and press Enter.
    2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
    3. Right click on your Sound Card, select "Properties"
    4. Click "Driver" tab, click Disable (Disable the selected device). Click OK
    5. Please use the same method to disable other hardware such as: Modem, network card, CD-R drive. Please note some devices such as video adapter are not available to be disabled.
    6. Please restart the computer. Can we boot in Windows Vista properly? If so, please continue prepare a clean boot to troubleshoot.
Clean Boot prevents software conflicts by preventing the startup items and non Microsoft services from loading. This way you can safely follow the process of elimination to check which application is causing this behavior.
    Refer:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Ensure that you put your computer back to normal startup mode after completing the troubleshooting steps. Steps are available in the article given above.

Have got a Windows Vista basic and had run a a trial version of LR4 on it - just purchased an LR5 without checking out the complete system requirements. Can I get a complete download of LR4 so that the money I've spent is not wasted. I am not interested in upgrading to Windows 7 currently.

There are still retail packs of LR 4 to be found out there - for example, on EBay. It's just important to be careful whether it's a full version, an upgrade, or a student + teacher version. And to be certain it's genuine, and has a serial number which has never been activated before. The serial number that you get with that, should work with any 4.x version of LR, on either MacOS or Windows. And it will almost certainly be heavily discounted compared with the previous price direct from Adobe.
Of course the other way is to upgrade to Windows 7 SP1, which should also be available discounted, and thus eke out the life of an older PC (I personally would not go to Win8 in such a case). Maybe pick up some RAM also, if that's a problem, provided you can do so cheaply (since that will be simply thrown away in due course, when you get a newer PC),
Using LR4 instead of LR5 you do miss out on a few nice features, as well as potentially the Raw support and lens profiles for more recent camera equipment.
LR 4 is obsolete as far as Adobe is concerned. They will not sell a Serial Number for it.

I have seen similar threads that suggest this is a known issue with this version of Acrobat but I would like conformation from Adobe that this is a known issue and whether it is fixed in a newer version?

    Hi quodd,,
We are sorry for the issue being faced by you. I need some information from you so that I take further steps:
    1. Which Adobe product are you using Acrobat or Adobe reader- what is the complete version?
    2. How are you opening and saving the PDF, the exact workflow?
Are you doing it from within Adobe Reader/Acrobat application or opening it from browser, doing changes and saving it using browser itself.
    3. Can you try to save a PDF to library with Custom template and managed metadata columns using browser directly.
    4. Please verify that columns name do not contain spaces or some other special characters.
Can you try to save PDF to library with Custom template and just a single managed metadata column  with a simple name
    Thanks,

  • Illustrator CC 2014 - Message - "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the required operation."

We have 3 Macs OS 10.7.5, 16Gb and are all using Illustrator CC 2014. Since the Macs upgraded to CC 2014 all are exhibiting the same message, at random during deisgn, "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the required operation.". At this point clicking on the "OK" button causes the screen graphics to appear in outline mode and unable to access / select any further commands, apart from "close".
Reverting back to the initial CC (which is still installed on the systems) shows no problems in completing the designs. Hence it appears that all the above issues seem apparent only since the latest CC upgrade.
Does anyone have any ideas as to this issue and any possible resolutions.

For the last few months, I've been having the exact same problem and it is driving me CRAZY. I finally contacted Adobe a few weeks ago regarding the issue and they had me clear out my preferences. All seemed fine for a few days... but then it came back again and seems worse now. It happened so often today I lost count. Very frustrating.

  • SAP Deposit Management: Complete solution to Banking Products?

Is SAP Deposit Management provided the complete solution to manage banking products if we kept aside other modules such as Bank Analyzer, Loan management etc. .... ?

    Hi Anuj,
SAP Banking Services can be classified as Transactional Banking (Deposits and Loans Management) and Analytical Banking (Bank Analyser).
    Transaction Banking further classified as,
    1. Account Management
    2. Master Contract Management
    In Account Management we have,
    1. Deposits Management
    2. Loans Management
Under Account Management - Deposits Management, we have
    1.Term Deposit Account
    2.Current Account
    3.Savings Account
Under Account Management - Loans Management, we have
    1.Instalment Loans
    2.Mortgage Loans
Under Master Contract Management, we have
1.Effective Cash Pooling (Zero Balancing, Target Balancing, Trigger Balancing and Automatic Balance Transfer)
    2.Bundle Pricing
    3.OD
The Following Operations can be done in Transactional Banking --> Deposits Management.,
    1. Create Account
    2. Post Payment Items
    3. Run Settlement
    4. Run Accruals
    5. Order Management Scenarios (Product Change, Account Holder Change, EWT, and Account Closure)
    6. PLM (Posting Lock Management)
The above scenarios will only cover the deposit life cycle in transactional banking but that is not the complete one, there are some parts left in Analytical Banking also i.e. Bank Analyser
    In Bank Analyser, you do
Define Legal Entity, Run AFI steps i.e. some of them displayed below,
    1. Display Financial Transaction
    2. Display Business Transaction
    3. Set Time stamp
    3. Post External Business Transaction
    4. Update Secondary Business transaction
    5. Key Date Valuation (KDV)
    6. View Results in RDL
Still I say, the deposit life cycle not 100% done, the complete deposit life cycle has three main stages
    1. Origination (Mostly happen in CRM and this includes account and product origination)
    2. Servicing (This happen in core banking includes all deposits scenarios in core banking and some of them i mentioned above)
    3. Reporting (This happen in Analytical Banking, includes AFI and Analytical Reporting)
After all these steps, the accounting registration book entry will happen in FICO.
I have written my understanding in Deposits Management. Please correct if something mentioned wrong
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Kamal

    For BugCheck 9F, please see:
Bug Check 0x9F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state.
    * Bugcheck Analysis *
    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)
A driver has failed to complete a power IRP within a specific time.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 00000003, A device object has been blocking an Irp for too long a time
Arg2: 86f6c6c8, Physical Device Object of the stack
Arg3: 82d55b44, nt!TRIAGE_9F_POWER on Win7 and higher, otherwise the Functional Device Object of the stack
    Arg4: 89ab2290, The blocked IRP
The Bug check told this BSOD is probably caused by ACPI.sys, which is an inbox component of Widnows operating system, detailed debug information, I am afraid that is not supported through the forums here.
    The information about ACPI.sys:
The Windows ACPI driver, Acpi.sys, is an inbox component of the Windows operating system. The responsibilities of Acpi.sys include support for power management and Plug and Play (PnP) device enumeration. On hardware platforms that have an
    ACPI BIOS, the
HAL causes Acpi.sys to be loaded during system startup at the base of the
device tree. Acpi.sys acts as the interface between the operating system and the ACPI BIOS. Acpi.sys is transparent to the other drivers in the device tree.

  • After Deploying an Image: Windows Boot Manager - Missing ACPI.sys

    Hi,
I am currently working on deploying a Windows 7 Pro x64 image to a number of clients over our network using FOG. We used KVM in Ubuntu to build the base image. The image has a small virtual disk for the Windows installation and is deployed to clients with larger
drives. Prior to capture the image, we ran sysprep /generalize /shutdown /oobe /unattend:unattend.xml, then boot the VM to the FOG client and let FOG save off the disk image. We then deploy the image to clients over FOG.
FOG successfully copies the image over, then reboots the PC. The computer attempts to boot from the local hard drive, then fails at the Windows Boot Manager screen, saying:
    Windows boot manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause....
    File: \Windows\system32\drivers\ACPI.sys
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.
I've updated the client's BIOS, tried a different hard drive, used ATA secure erase to wipe the drive before formatting, and still encounter this same issue with certain client computers. Are there any other steps I can take to resolve this issue?
What files in Panther should I look at (or post) to troubleshoot? I don't see anything too obvious in diagerr, and sestuperr.log is just about empty.

We're using two models of 120GB SSDs, and deploying to 5 different motherboards (4 Intel models + 1 MSI model). The issue is most common with the DH55TC Intel boards.
We're using FOG due to budget limits--otherwise, WDT definitely would have been considered.

  • T410 - high DPC latency in ACPI.sys on BIOS update (leads to audio pops and crackles)

I recently updated my Thinkpad T410's BIOS because the fan wasn't working properly. The fan is working fine now, but ever since the BIOS update I've been experiencing severe audio pops and crackles. I used the tool LatencyMon to inspect, and the chief culprit seems to be ACPI.sys, with execution times as long as 10ms.
I've tried disabling all the power management options in the BIOS and changing everything to max performance. I've also tried disabling other various devices such as the network adapters, but nothing seems to help. Any idea?

    Hi agrilledfish,
    Is your BIOS 3.03?
I found a post on MixVibes regarding audio drops:
    Audio drops/USB problems
You can try to disable ACPI.sys in device manager or uninstall and reinstall the software.

  • Satellite L450-188 - How to disable ACPI.sys and update BIOS?

Hi, hoping someone can help me with a slight problem i'm having
    I recently bought a Satellite L450-188 (part number PSLY0E-03K019EN) running Windows 7 64bit
I use the laptop with a DJ program called Rane Serato Scratch Live, i've been having usb latency issues, getting usb dropouts when I try to use the program on its lowest audio buffer setting (which I expected to be able to do)
When I contacted the support team at Serato with my problem, they suggested I run a program to check the DPC times on my laptop, when I submitted the report to them, they said ACPI.sys was causing the issue, and suggested I might want to disable it, but i wasn't too confident with doing this.
The other suggestion was to try and find bios updates for my laptop, but I'm not too clued-up with this sort of thing, and I'm worried I might damage the laptop by maybe installing the wrong thing.
Can anyone give me any advice on this, as I'm not sure what to do
    thanks
    jim

    Hi jimbob_1,
Normally ACPI means Advanced Configuration and Power Interface and controls some power saving options.
So if something is wrong with ACPI.sys file I would recommend reinstalling Windows using Toshiba recovery disk.
By the way: Are you running preinstalled Windows version or another one?
As Akuma wrote you can download BIOS update on Toshiba website. http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
Your notebook belongs to PSLY0E series, therefore you can download newest BIOS.
Before you start the BIOS update, close all running programs and extract all files from zip-archive. You start the update as Administrator and connect AC/DC adaptor. Make also sure that battery is fully charged.

  • Solutions required for ODs(Different operations)

    Hi Experts
Since  1st September, client has  implemented the principle of parking  posting OD(Different operationals). However, the parking implementation does not concern the large number of documents to be entered:
-The banking accountant in charge of entering the cash receipt documents,
-The accountant in charge of personnel accounts (expense notes, loans, advancesu2026.).
    In this context:
1.Is it possible for you to provide us the complete list of transactions that can allow passing the ODs (FB01 Type),
2.Is it possible for you to let us know if we can use other types of documents for the cash documents and the personnel documents (expense note, loansu2026) to differentiate them from the SA and AB types for a better OD monitoring,
3.Is it possible for you to let us know if we can use the other types of documents for the cash registers and the personnel documents (expense note, loans,u2026) to differentiate the types SA and AB for a better monitoring of OD,
4.Is it possible for you to let us know the transaction that gives us a report of the OD documents with the following minimum details (parked by, validated by, document date, amount, document label, impacted accounts),
Above said four are the user requirements, kindly provide possible solutions ASAP
    Thanks in advance

    We're not deer.
Remember: Every problem has a solution but there is a need to find it.Wrong assumption. Many problems have no solution, simply because the person conceiving something as a problem in fact wants the impossible.
Your requirement for a "JSF complete tutorial" that matches some unknown but no doubt extreme requirements as to simplicity yet completeness and correctness is a case in point.
How to get "Free energy" is another one.
But of course the most well known is the problem of the honest politician. There is no solution to the problem of needing them, as it is theoretically impossible for a politician to be honest.
