Track Ball won't scroll up or down.

The track balll on my BB Curve 8330 will scroll left and right but not up or down, which really limits my use of it. I tried taking out the battery, cleaning the ball with alcohol, turning it off and back on. The ball seems loose - not sticky. Would appreciate any help!

I took my BB back to the store where they replaced the trackball for $10 and it now works as it should. Since my warranty had long expired, I was pleased with that. Panic over!

You seem to have an Accessibility feature or two turn on. Turn them off.
Try tripling clicking the Home button and go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn them all off. Use three fingers for scrolling if necessary.
The color problem is likely Invent Colors (iOS6) or While on Black for other iOS.

MacBook Pro track pad won't scroll after OS 10.8.3 update

I've run the update for my MacBook to 10.8.3 and now my track pad is no longer functioning correctly. I've checked the system pref. settings and all is the same there. Specifically I can no longer scroll up and down on the page and must resort to scroll bars for this—which requires me to resize the window just to get them to appear! Any ideas?

Weird. Have you tried this in a different user account (e.g., Guest)? How about when starting up in Safe Mode?

Tracker ball on 8900 will not move down.

So my blackberry, which is on contract to orange uk has again broken. the problem is that the tracker ball will not move down. it moves from left to right and moves up but doesnt move down. you can guess this is rather annoying! I have had it fixed a few months ago for the same problem but it was a bit pricey! I was wondering could you help me with this?

Try rolling it around on a baby wipe if you have one, if not some alcohol gel, or vodka on a tissue may work. Failing that you could take the trackball out and clean the sensors, it's fiddly but it does work. It's quite simple to do if you have the right screw drivers. I even managed it, and I'm a girl

Calendar Month View won't scroll up and down

This is a very minor, but strange issue with Calendar.
I can scroll up and down in Calendar month view on my MacBook Air, but on my Mac Pro, I can only switch months by clicking the" >" button or "Command+Left Arrow".
Anyone know why?

I'm using Yosemite on both.
I did a little research and saw some comments that mentioned that vertical scrolling works with the trackpad, but not with mouse scroll wheels... so there's that. Doesn't make sense, but it's possible.

It is a while mow since I used XP, I do not remember a 4 pointed star option for the cursor.
*Is this only on Firefox?
If other programs are affected it is something to do with Windows XP or software installed on that.
If it is only on Firefox then as an initial step try in Firefox's safe mode with all plugins disabled. You may start safemode by using
* Help -> Restart with addons disabled

My tracking ball does not scroll down.

I have tried doing the rapid up, down, left, right thing but it did not work. I am with Rogers and they told me to pop out the peice around the ball and now i read i wasnt suppost to do that. does the actual ball pop out if so how does that work?
IS there a number to call Blackberry because rogers is not helping me at all. my cell is a yr and 2 months old and this is really bugging me.
I like the phone but i dont have money to buy a new one because in order to get the cell at a decent price i will have to extend my contract and get a $15 a month data plan which i do not need or can afford.

I had the same problem with my trackball and all I did was: push down really hard on the ball and roll it around in all directions.
It works. One of the guys at work takes his 8100 blackberry all the way apart to clean his.....you wouldn't belive what gets in there....hair, pocket lint, all sorts of junk and stuff!!

Mighty Mouse won't scroll up, only down

I had this problem again tonight, but this time a restart didn't work.
So I took the mouse and turned it upside down, and rolled with pressure the scroll ball on my mouse pad. I rolled in all directions, then plugged it back in. It worked. Which leads me to believe that the first time it happened, the restart didn't have anything to do with it.
Before I rolled the scroll ball, I tried just unplugging and plugging back in, besides the restart. It seems that the scroll ball got "out of whack" as I now can here a a louder "zipping" sound as the scroll ball moves around.
I read some other posts about this problem, you might want to try rolling your ball around your mousepad and apply some pressure.

...and while you're at it, perform this action on a slightly moistened (I used Glassex) tissue. My MM wouldn't scroll down and I suspected dirt and grease from my finger to be the culprit. The cleaning solved the problem, and I even didn't unplug it.

How do I fix my FF when it doesn't fully load pages and won't scroll up or down when I press Page Up and Page Down?

FF won't load pages, nearly at all. Some websites will partially load, but then will suddenly stop. In order to get the pages to fully load, I'll click Tools and open the Options menu, then I'll close the menu, resulting in the webpage loading up slightly more. I'll need to do that several times before FF will fully load a page. I can't even scroll at all through any of the webpages either when this happens. I'll hit Page Up or Page Down on my keyboard and nothing will happen. Also, I'll click other tabs on the browser and they won't move forward unless I do Tools > Options, and then close Options again.

Seems like you have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

Turn it upside down and run it over plain paper (vigorously). Running it over a microfiber cloth is even better.

This usually happens when dirts captures the trackball. Rotate the trackball against a rough cloth slowly. This may help you to remove the dirts cleared away from the trackball. If that doesn't heelp you need to think about replacing trackballs which can ordered online.

Magic Mouse and Track Pad won't scroll after after waking

I installed Lion and a TrackPad on my 27" iMac at the same time. When I wake my Mac up after sleeping for a period of time, the scrolling does not work on either the TrackPad or the Magic Mouse. The pointer works fine on both, however. I have to restart in order for things to work again as they should.
Apple Care has so far been unable to help. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm ready to return the track pad and/or uninstall Lion. This is turning into a Windows experience. Not typical for Apple.

Agreed. My bluetooth keyboard works fine with iMac and Lion. Not so for my magic mouse. It will work for a while and then clicking and scrolling become unresponsive. Sometimes a complete shutdown and start up will solve the problem for a little while (not always), but then mouse becomes unresponsive again.
Speaking of unresponsive, that is Apple on this subject. Many, many complaints, but no action.
I'm using a 2010 iMac, all updates are installed. Batteries are charged. Reset PRAM. Checked settings in System Preferences. Did everything others have suggested. No help.
The magic mouse was fine with Leopard. It was even fine with Lion, until the Lion update and then the problems began.
I'm back to using my USB mouse. I'll see if Apple Store will accept return of magic mouse. Doubt it.

Look in System Preferences > Mouse > uncheck Natural scrolling.

Mouse won't scroll up or down in email

My mouse battery is 100%. It will work outside of email just fine but only the arrow keys work to navigate email.

You didn't give much information there. Is this a new problem? Check System Preferences / Mouse and make sure you have the right settings.
