Track creation recommendation

Hello NWDI gurus!!
I have a few questions regarding track creation process in NWDI.
In our environment here, we have Portal development going on... We have the following systems in our landscape... Portal dev, Portal Sandbox, Portal Q, Portal Prod and Portal training systems.
1. Now, when setting up the NWDI tracks, how do I go about creating tracks? How many tracks are required for a well planned landscape?
2. Now, how do we relate the runtime systems Dev, Cons, Test and Prod to the physical systems Dev, Sandbox, Q, Prod and Training systems?
Could anybody throw some light on how we can design the tracks in our landscape?
Thanks much in advance

  • CD track creation from LE7

I've created a long audio file in LE7, bounced it to a .WAV and now I want to burn it to CD. My problem is I would like to insert track markers so that I won't have to rewind and fast forward to a particular point in the song after it's burned to CD. Can LE7 do this? if not any suggestions on what can (on a mac platform, I know CD architect on PC platform can)?

I'LL GIVE YOU A SUGGESTION!!!! STOP YELLING!!!!!
you are going to be better off using a program like bias peak le or upgrading to logic pro. upgrading to logic pro will give you waveburner which will do what you are trying to accomplish, but peak le is the best and cheapest way in my opinion to accomplish your task.
    www.bias-inc.com
watch the peak le tutoials. there is one that shows you how to do exactly what you are trying to do.
also for all i know iTunes 7 might create seamless cd creation. do some reasearch, and calm down..

  • Project time tracking application recommendations?

    Hi all,
I'm a freelance worker and am having trouble finding the right time-tracking and project management software "for me."
I'm using Adobe Klok, whose interface and layout I really like, but as it's based on a web app, it's a little cumbersome to use (I like using more keyboard shortcuts and having a more flexible interface).
The dream feature I'm hoping exists out there is something that lets me activate the program with a keystroke (like Spotlight or Quicksilver) to just type in text in order to update whatever I'm doing. I often switch what I'm doing every 10-15 minutes, and updating Klok on what exactly this is so often is irritating and hard to stay up on.
    Anyone have any recommendations?
    Thanks!
    Alec

You should find several such applications by searching at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Steps after track creation

    Hello experts,
I need some help with configuring a track for 7.4 development.
I created a track for 7.4 development and made sure all necessary software components and their dependencies are defined in sld.
As I read lots of documentation on creating tracks on previous versions, the only point that was not covered is as follows:
How do I initially check in some of the necessary SC´s (common ones that are used by custom applications as KMC-CM, EP-BASIS, etc.) into the track.
After I import the development configuration via nwds, I can see all components that I assigned.
But those are empty. May you help me with some hints / documentation on this issue?
Maybe you could tell me the steps I need to follow?
    Best regards,
    André

    Hi André,
you need to check-in (on CMS webui -- Transport Studio -- Check-In tab) and import the SCs into Development and Consolidation. Before these steps it makes no sense to start NWDS and import the devconfig because the SCs will be empty as you have just experienced. In order to check-in SCs, you need to have the files physically in the Transport folder (you can find out this way where it is: go to CMS webui -- Landscape Configurator -- Domain Data and there you'll find the transport folder. Now the SCA files have to be put into <your transport folder>/CMS/inbox).
You can download the SCA files from the Service Marketplace.
An example for 7.4 EPBASIS SP10:
http://service.sap.com/patches --> Browse our Download Catalog --> SAP NetWeaver and complementary products --> SAP NetWeaver -->  SAP NETWEAVER 7.4 --> Entry by Component --> Enterprise Portal --> PORTAL BASIS 7.40 --> EPBASIS10_0-20010035.SCA
    I hope this helps.

  • Track creation contest! april 1st-30th

Hey everyone, I work with a software synth company called KeyToSound, and we're doing a contest beginning April 1st to the 30th with http://www.trackbattle.org. The overall gist of it is this: download Remedy, the free synth from http://www.keytosound.com, then make an entire song (maximum length 3 minutes, any genre is acceptable) using only Remedy - this includes drums - and upload your .mp3 somewhere where you can post a link to it in the Trackbattle Remedy Contest forums. At the end of April, KeyToSound and Trackbattle will pick the top ten submitted tracks, and then Trackbattle users will vote on the best overall track, with the winner receiving a full boxed version of KeyToSound's Nexsyn Soft-synth!
You can find full rules and more information and join the forums at Trackbattle.org. Get cracking! We want to hear what everyone can do!

    Hi Surya
Having thousands of order is not a reason for not doing period end processing.. When you have a kid, you need to take care of its basic needs.. LIkewise, when you have SAP, there are some basic rules you need to follow to have max benefit of the system and Period end processing is one of them
If the child troubles a lot, we opt for a nanny or day care.. Similarly, there is a Day care option i can suggest
Go for Decoupling scenario wherein your PP guys will do their transactions in Prod orders and you accumulate costs in a PCC i.e. cost collector
In your Order type for Prod orders, you have a dropdown box to choose "Cost Collectors".. Once you tick it, you will need to create a PCC for every product
Qty will be accumulated in Prod orders and Qty/Cost will be accumlated in PCC..
For all practical purposes, Logistics will follow discrete and you will follow periodic scenario in CO
This reduces the no of objects to be processed in month end.. Instead o 100 orders for a product, you will process only one Per product i.e. PCC

  • Track Creation  com.sap.sdm.apiimpl.remote.client.APIClientSessionFactory

    Dear All,
While creating a track for our CE 7.2 system on our NWDI (NW 7.0 EHP1 SPS04) we are getting an exception
cannot create a connection for the buildspace:  SID_APPL_D //connect to deploy tool failed:Exception occurred while calling createAPI
    ClientSession of Class com.sap.sdm.apiimpl.remote.client.APIClientSessionFactory
    Impl - java.lang.NullPointerException: null
We are using the following option in the Runtime system definition
    SID
    Deployment Controller
Port : 5<xx>05 where xx is our instance number for CE
    Hostname
    Username adn password
I cannot understand why this exception is coming though all parameters are defined correctly
    Any inputs?
    Thanks
    Chan

    Hi,
    1. I believe you need to use 5<xx>04 instead of 5<xx>05.
    2. Make sure user has proper rights for deployment.
@ John: Runtime Systems should be the CE systems.
    Hope this helps.

  • Track Creation

    PROBLEM:
When I create a track it always ties itself into the track i had before. So when i try to add a track and then change the instrument or add an effect it adds it to the previous track as well.
So basically i want to create a track and have it act alone. I use the keyboard shortcut of Command-Return to create tracks.

And it wont link them in any way to the previous track.
    MEANING
If i add a compressor to one track it wont add it to them all?

    ok thank for reply.
i can modify now my code but when i have created the track i have given my development server details under runtime. But i chaned that once QA1 by mistake and later relized then again reverted back to development.
so in this case do i need to import/check-in all software component again in my track?
Now i am having the original system details.(that i gave at the time of track creation and import ESS).

  • Some DCs are not available locally - NWDS error while importing Track confg

    Hi,
We have configured NWDI in our landscape.
As per the requirement of the developers, we have created a new product and software component (SC) in SLD, as they don't want to use any standard components.
The same has been synced with CMS using update CMS.
Now a new track is created (in landscape configurator) and the new SC has been added to the track. Track creation was successfull....given the sdm passwords for all 3 systems.
While saving a pop-up came saying that as the SC is New (i did not select the developed option), I need to Check-in and Import into DEV manually.....I GOT STUCK HERE.
What files needs to be checked-in in Transport studio?
Also when developers are trying to import the configuration in their respoective NWDS...they are getting "Some DCs are not available locally" error.
Also updated the patch of their NWDS but still no use.
Could any one help me out.
    Regards,

As per your advise. I have maintianed the 3 dependencies for the SC.

  • CDHDR / Change numbers (add new TCODE tracking)

    Hello SAP users,
I want to track creations of equipements in CDHDR.
    => Obectclas = 'EQUI' and TCODE = 'IE01' OR 'IE08'.
Currently, I'm able to track modification (tcode = 'IE02') but I can't manage to add handler on creation transaction.
I'm sure it is possible because, for the MATERIAL object I've new entry following updates and creation with TCODE = MM01 or MM02
Do you know what customizing must I do ?

You have to implement note 658193 to get CDHDR entries when an equipment is created in IE01.
Do not implement the note, if DIMP component installed in your system.
You can trigger workflow events without implementing the note by checking WFE checkbox in the equipment categories configuration.
If the above mentioned note is already in ur system, it adds a new check box to equipment categories config, Just turn it on.

  • Is there a way to get Genius to make a playlist using ALL songs in Library?

Genius is cool, but I have a beef. It appears that it will only make playlists using your "checked" tracks. I have more tracks in my library than I have room for on my iPod so I have a whole bunch of tracks in iTunes that are not usually checked.
I would really like for Genius to help me rediscover these tracks by recommending them in playlists. Does anyone know if this is a hackable preference somewhere, or maybe even a preference setting that I just haven't found?
    Thanks for any ideas!

This was just a suggestion but you are free to do as you want.
Other than checking or unchecking the dozen or so that I want today, how is playlist creation supposed to help me? Create a new playlist of just the songs I want today and check that off?
    Exactly!
The delete that playlist and make a new one tomorrow? Or delete the tracks in that list and drag new ones in?
    Exactly!
This way you only a have a few playlists (of what you want on the iPod) you need to mess with.
Create another playlist called "Not on other playlists?" NO Way! Too much trouble and bother on a day to day basis.
Messing with the entire library by checking/unchecking songs is easier than adding/deleting songs from a few specific playlists? Okay.
As you noticed, Genius will not use the songs that are unchecked. In addition, if you play these songs in iTunes, it stops after it plays an unchecked song and they will not get burned to a CD if they are in a playlist.
    Good luck!

  • Error while building the DC and deploying it.

    Hi,
I have done all the while Post Installation Steps of Usage Type DI.
The SAP Link followed was :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/45/68d64260752a78e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
This is first time, I am configuring SAP NEWDI.
    The server installed is: sap.com/SAP-JEECOR  7.01 SP4 (1000.7.01.4.0.20090417015900
    which looks SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 SP4.
The DB installed is: DB2/NT64 (SQL09050)
The Java Virtual Machine details in the server is:
    VM  system properties...
Name:  Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
    Vendor:  Sun Microsystems Inc.
    Version:  1.4.2_21-b03
Now, I also installed SAP NWDS 7.01.04 which is SAP NWDS 7.0 EHP1 SP4, I think.
I did some mistakes while doing Post DI Steps.
The track and sc can be successfully imported to SAP NWDS
and I am able to build dcs on that sc.
Now, while doing the step build from Java WebDynpro perspective,
I am getting the build error.
    I am pasting the errors.

Now some points I need to tell about the NWDI:
In the , Post Installation Steps of Usage Type DI:
I need some points to be clarified in:
    Preparing the System Landscape Directory.
    1. Activate the SLD Server
    While doing this step,
          1.      Open the SLD Web UI under the URL http://<server>:<port>/sld.
           2.      Open the initial page of the SLD Web UI and log on as an administrator.
           3.      On the initial page, choose Administration and in the section Server u00AE Profile.
The system displays the Parameters screen.
           4.      ChooseSection u00AEServer Settings.
           5.      Enter a reserved SAP NetWeaver namespace in the input field Object Server. Keep the preset working directory in the input field Working Directory. Select the values for persistency and write protection. Save your entries.
The object server name was localhost. I think this needed to be changed to the FQDN
of the server were the J2EE Engine is running say hclprd09.hcltech.com (or it would be the SID of the J2EE Server, that is DJ1).
The other values are now set to:
    Persistence Type: Database
    Working Directory: E:\usr\sap\DJ1\SYS\global\sld
    Write Protection: None
    Then the next step is:
Import the SAP Master Component Information.
      1.      On the SLD initial page, choose Administration and in the section Content u00AE Import.
           2.      Choose Import CR Content (this switch appears only before the content import has been executed once. By default, this is a step during installation).
The SLD server starts the import of the SAP Master Component Information. This process can take some time.
For this we have to use the file:
    F:\usr\sap\DJ1\SYS\global\sld\model\CR_Content.zip
    Is this step mandatory?
If I do the step will I have to recreate the users, roles, worksets and iviews again.
As some developments are already there.
So, importing the CR_Content.zip will overwrite or destroy all those roles, iviews etc.
Now, also in giving the name prefix for the development component for user kaba
has been given by me as sap.com.*
I think this is wrong as the DC is produced by my company and not by SAP.
Then I followed all other steps as written.
Give me your suggestions where I might be wrong.
    Regards
    Kaushik

    Hi Neha,
Yes, till now; you are right.
The Product and sc has been created in
    http://<host name>:<port>/devinf
The steps followed are written below:
1> Now Click on System Landscape Directory and create Product.
2> After entering Name, Vendor and Version for Product. Click on Create..
3> Product is created now it will ask for name of Software Unit.
4> Specify name and click on Create.
S/w Unit is created now it will ask inputs for S/w Components.
Provide all the necessary inputs for S/w Components and keep Production State as released.
    Click on create.
Now select your Software Component and click on the Dependencies tab in the lower half of screen.
Select Build Time as Context and click on Define Prerequisite Software Components Versions
Now on next page search for three basic dependencies those are.
    SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00
    DI BUILD TOOL 7.00
    SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
This is screen shot for SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
Repeat the same process for the other two steps also search word will be *DI* for DI BUILD TOOL 7.0
*SAP J2e* for SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
    Domain Configuration and Track Creation
Now navigate to Landscape Configurator and click on Domain Data.
Enter all the required inputs in the screen below Click on Save and Update CMS.
Update CMS is very important step do not forget it.
Now click on Track Data and click on New.
Enter all the required inputs in the screen below
On the next page, search for your Software Component and click on ADD.
Click on Runtime Tab on the Top and Select System as per your requirement.
Enter the required Inputs and click on Save.
Now click on Transport Studio on top and select Check In now select all three Dependencies and click on Check In Button.
Now Click on Development Tab on top and Select All 3 Dependencies and Click on Import
Look at the status now it should say Import finished.
Your track is now created, configured & ready to use for development component in NWDS.
    But mistake,
    I should have added
    SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00
    DI BUILD TOOL 7.00
    SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00
Also, I removed prequisite software dependicies from SAP J2EE ENGINE.
    Now what to do?
Do I need to import CIM Model Data?
    Would it help?
    Regards

    Denis,
Do you have [red hair|http://www.dennisthemenace.com/]? ;-)
My advise with the tree structure is pretty short and sweet... make each node remember
    1. it's parent
    2. it's children
That's how the file system (inode) actually works.
    <quote>
The exact reasoning for designating these as "i" nodes is unsure. When asked, Unix pioneer Dennis Ritchie replied:[citation needed]
In truth, I don't know either. It was just a term that we started to use. "Index" is my best guess, because of the
slightly unusual file system structure that stored the access information of files as a flat array on the disk, with all
the hierarchical directory information living aside from this. Thus the i-number is an index in this array, the
i-node is the selected element of the array. (The "i-" notation was used in the 1st edition manual; its hyphen
    became gradually dropped).</quote>

  • I've used a sitemap generator, download the file. How do I open it?

    Hello
I've textwrangler, textedit and office. They open the file, but to save it as a sitemap.xml is not working. When I preview it online the code is not rendering.
Which software do I use to open this file and save as plain sitemap.xml to upload to my host and submit to the search engines.
By the way, preferably a really free software, not a trial one since I've no money to buy one+pointless to buy one to use only once.
    Thank you

    Hello
I'll try to explain myself better. With either sitemap generators I'm using online:
    http://www.sitemapdoc.com
    http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/
They build the sitemap nicely. I don't need to edit it, just download or copy the code and save as xml.
When I download the code, it has the Final Cut (I've it installed) as the open the file as default.
I'm assuming it is happening since I do not have a suitable software to open and save the file with.
There are endless sitemap generators online, but I've to save them as sitemap.xml and upload to my host, to submit it to the search engines.
It is not a new process, I do believe that they start this way of submitting your website about 3/4 years ago.
I did not use iWeb to build my website since it uses iFrame.
The softwares you mentioned above are not free and I don't need to edit my Sitemap.
Only to save it as Sitemap.xml and upload to my host.
I'm trying version tracker as recommended above, but xml editors are not easy to use + plus most are trial software.
Doesn't mac have an application to open and save this kind of file?
Or maybe you could direct me to another forum where I could post my dumb question. Thank you.

  • REALLY Need Help Here...

I think I'm going to lose my mind. I'm new to Logic 7, and I can't seem to consisently create new tracks without something bizzarre happening.
I went to the Environment to create a new stereo Aux for routing some tracks to. I said "Create New Audio Object." I tried to make out from the pop up list of AUXes used which was new and available, and chose it. In order to make it show up in the Arrange Window, and I suppose therefore the MIXER window, I Command clicked it. Now it REPLACES whatever track in the ARRANGE window was highlighted. And you can't seem deselect all tracks so nothing is highlighted in the arrange. So this new Audio Object, upon trying to get it to show up, REPLACES tracks. So my audio acoustic guitar track is now the new AUX. Oops. REVERT TO SAVED.
Help. This track creation thing is just nutty. Even the manual says to use CREATE NEW TRACK, and doesn't tell you that in the ARRANGE WINDOW this results in a COPY OF THE ABOVE TRACK. Geez. Insane.
So how do create an AUX in the Environment, make it show up in the mixer and or arrange, and NOT have it replace an existing track in the arrange?
    Thanks so much
    Tom

    Thanks Donald.
Boy, you know, the most dependable way I have found to do it so it always works is...
What you say. I have 48 audio tracks in my autoload environment. I just go to arrange (when I need audio tracks, not instrument tracks) and add a bunch of tracks. Then I do your trick....I drag the audio tracks from the environment over the arrange window and everything is happy.
This solved a nightmare I had tonight. I was importing audio, and therefore need audio tracks. I decided to start SLOWLY, and created ONE audio track in the arrange window. I assigned to TRACK 1. Then dragged a file from the audio window into the arrange and placed it. I then named it immediately (Create Track Name). I kept doing that for about 28 tracks. When I was done, it was a mess. Things that I had named BASS were playing floor toms, etc. I would rename the floor tom track to Floor Tom, then look up, and the actual bass track changed its name to Floor Tom as well. Oh geez. I just deleted everything, and dragged the audio tracks from the Environment as I said, and finally got what I needed.
Some of this is me, I know, but there are honestly some serious bugs in this program. I had two guitar tracks playing just fine, and after switching windowsets around all of a sudden they were gone. I mean, NOT PLAYING. I went to the Environment to find them. Still Gone. Like they VANISHED from the program. I finally just reimported their audio.
It's like wrestling with a big polar bear, this Logic;)
Thanks for all your help. Let's hope Apple....king of the easy interface, gets this program in shape in the next century....;)
    Tom
