Track Initalization Errors

Hello. I know there have been topics posted about this, however, none seem to answer my problem. I am using iDVD 6 with the Reflection Black theme. Unlike the other threads I have seen, the movie I am exporting into iDVD is a Quicktime movie from a Final Cut Pro project. I followed the instructions from Apple and successfully imported all my chapter markers automatically. Previewing the project works great too. However, when it comes time to burn, after waiting about 15-20 minutes for the computer to finish rendering my menus, once iDVD gets to the "Burn" step, I immediately get a message that says I have a Track Initialization error. It then said to try reencoding my assets. I did that, tried again, and I get the same message. I am using a MacBook Pro and have over 20 GB of free space. The size of my 10 minute Quicktime movie is 4.7 GB, but I assume that the file size goes down after being converted into MPEG 2. I have also tried to burn with other themes, even ones from the original iDVD, and that doesn't help. The only time I had a successful burn on my new computer was when I filmed a short 10 second movie in iMovie from my iSight. I don't think that is the problem though because on my G4 Desktop with iDVD 3 Quicktime movies from FC Pro burn fine. I have also tried burning to a disk image. Maybe Apple pulled iDVD support for FC Pro 3 in the newer iDVDs? Thanks for the help.

Did you put a chapter marker at the very beginning?
These are "The Rules" for chapter markers in iMovie:
Make sure no chapter markers are within two seconds of the start or end of the timeline. Make sure no chapter markers are within a transition. Make sure no chapter markers are within two seconds of the end of a transition.
I have also tried burning to a disk image.
You get the same message creating a disk image?

I was at the point of starting a new discussion as I was afraid nobody was watching this one any more. To make things easy for everyone, I'll use the quoting method in order to answer to each and every question I have an answer for. So let's just go for it...

Nope. I've always used the same hardware/software for importing/editing my footage(s). Hardware: Power Mac G5 DP 1.8GHz / Software: iMovie v5.0.2 and iDVD v5.0.1
"Can you down load the video to the Mac Mini and try it from there rather than transferring the project?"
As you can imagine, it would be such a big hassle to import/edit the movie in the Mac mini, executing precisely the same steps I did when using the Power Mac G5.

Been there, done that. No way Jose!

Didn't try that, though I've removed the chapter markers from 'risky' points, like transitions, etc.

My audio tracks consist of the sound contained by the movie itself, plus two AAC (m4a) songs bit rated at 192kbps using iTunes v5.0 (also tried with .mp3 format but the result was the same). The tracks have a 30 to 40 seconds gap between them, so no sound mix between these 2 songs.

No special procedures here, Rob. I'm no professional, so I usually turn camera ON and start recording straight away. My camera is a JVC Mini DV GR-DX77E perfectly recognised by the Apple iMovie software.

Yes. My first tape was imported using iMovie v5.0.2, using the 'Best Quality' preference, edited there and exporting to iDVD, and there (in iDVD) is where trouble starts. So I googled for troubleshooting and stopped here for a carefull reading:

I ran OnyX v1.5.2 for Panther and able to burn my project into a DVD without glitches. One thing I noticed (and honestly this can make the difference here), is that before I ran OnyX, everytime iDVD finished the assets task, it started encoding audio and here's where the error took place. After the OnyX intervention, it started encoding video and then audio successfully.
"I know it is a pain to do these things but we will probably find out it is something simple blocking the burn. Try it also with a different Menu theme. Get a real simple one."
I've tried the 'real simple' menus, like the ones bundled with iDVD. Sorry, but it makes no difference.
"What photos are you putting in the menu theme?"
No photos in the projects. Just the movie and audio tracks (preferable all AAC).

Burn as disc image gives exactly the same error at exactly the same point: Track initialization error.
"Start from the very beginning and dellete anything to do with iMovie or iDVD. In the libraries and in Documents"
I've deleted the .plist docs for iMovie and iDVD software, but it didn't solve.

Carefull to see if you're using the correct version for your operating system, as there are different ones for Jaguar, Panther and Tiger.

It does for me. You have to use the 'cleanning' option in the application's toolbar.

Tracking adapter errors

Is it possible to track adopter errors eg. database down or ftp password is wrong using ccms or there any other method to alert end users?

You cannot raise an alert for adapter errors. This feature will be available in SP14.

Error Message: Quicktime failed to initalize error (-2096)

I can't open ITUNES. I have reinstalled quicktime andn ITUNES twice.....no help. Error Message: Quicktime failed to initalize error (-2096) Any suggestions?
If I were to uninstall ITUNES, then download it new, would the music on my IPOD 30G, sync back to the new ITUNES???

try this,,,,, this JUST worked for me, i had the same problem, error 2096. Go into your PROGRAM FILES folder, open the ITUNES folder. Right click on the ITUNES.exe icon, click COMPATIBILITY, then -uncheck- the box that says "run this program in compatibility mode for.....". After that you should be good to go!

How to Create a Function module z_create and to track the error records?

I want to create a function module z_create which will insert the data from the internal tables gt_model_master and gt_model into the corresponding database custom tables y_model_master.
Secondly if any error is encountered during the above updation, then how to track those error records ?

Lifecam Initalization error

Ok, runnings Windows 7 Ultimate x64, just bought a Lifecam Cinema, installed Lifecam 3.0 but when I try to use the webcam there's a Intialization Error message always in sight. I've used msconfig to boot up with MS only services running, nope same thing. Uninstalled, reinstalled. No change. Removed Lifecam and tried to test another webcam, this time a Logitech 9000... can't use that either, 'another application is using the webcam' or words to that effect. So I can't use any webcams on this Windows 7 build. The same webcams work fine on a Vista Business x86 build on a different drive in the same computer.
Is the Initalization error caused by the same problem the Logitech cam is reporting? Is there anyway to determine what may be using the cam and is it possible when only MS services are selected (and all startups are deselected)? I'm totally stumped with this one.

If any Logitech software was installed before, please perform the following steps:
Backup Registry

1. Click Start, type REGEDIT in the Start Search bar and press Enter.
2. Select Computer (the root node) in the left pane, click Export under the File menu, choose All under Export range, select Desktop in the Save in box and type backup in File Name. click Save.
Please Note: The backup file is on the Desktop and named backup.reg. We can simply restore the registry by double-clicking the backup.reg file.
Cleare the Logitech software

1. Click Start , type services.msc in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2. Double-click Logitech Process Monitor.
3. In Startup type, select Disabled.
4. Under Service status, click Stop, and then click OK.
5. Close the services.

Tracking Servo Error

I have an Intel Mac 20" with a Matshita UJ-846 superdrive, that I bought 8-months ago. Now it's reporting 'tracking servo error" (with Roxio Popcorn) and "tracking servo failure" (with Toast 7). every time I try to burn a disc. My fear is that the superdrive is going or gone, although it still plays DVD's. I've asked some more knowledgeable friends, and they have recommended both checking the buffer underwrite protection, which I can't find, and updating the firmware, and doing this before I have the superdrive replaced. I live in the mountains and I'm hours away from an Apple Repair Centre, so I'd like to try their suggestions.
Does anyone know where I can find Mac-based firmware (I've only found it for PC) for the UJ-846, and where the buffer underwrite protection menu is located?

CR52-A2 CD-RW (track following error???)

I have a 52x24x52x, burn some discs and now y get TRACK FOLLOWING ERROR every time i tried to burn, what is it????
I use nero and, i see the possible problems, but nothings happen.

Are you using the latest firmware 180D? If not, try that first.
Otherwise it's probably the 180D firmware that's the problem. When I flashed to it, the drive refused to read my CD-RWs any more (Verbatim 16-24x / Fujufilm 4x), even though 180D's meant to increase CD-RW compatibility. Had to flash back down to 161D to fix the problem.

In the field mappings and conversion rules,
in the global section,define an internal table.
data : begin of it_errors occurs 0,
desc type string,
end of it_errors.
and where ever you have wrong or empty values for the fields,populate error there to the internal table.
for example, if Material no is blank,i have to give err msg
IF NOT MATMAS_MRPVIEW-MATNR IS INITIAL.
BMM00-MATNR = MATMAS_MRPVIEW-MATNR.
else.
IT_ERROR-DESC = 'Material no is empty'.
append it_error.
SKIP_RECORD. "to skip further processing of this error record.
ENDIF.
like this you populate all the error records to that IT_ERRORS internal table.
and finally download it using GUI_DOWNLOAD in the event
'__END_OF_PROCESSING__'
there is another way also, you can create a Session in the LSMW, and record the error records in the session then process the error records in the session

UJ-85J Burning Problems: Tracking Servo Error

After several successful burns today (and many more throughout the past year), a few burns at the end of the day using Toast 8 Titanium have produced the following problem:
+The drive reported an error:+
+Sense Key = HARDWARE ERROR+
+Sense Code = 0x09, 0x01+
+TRACKING SERVO FAILURE+
It would happen at about 6% or so and it failed in writing both the lead-in and lead-out of the DVD+R media. I tried several discs from that stack and another brand, but it continued to fail. I have a Matshita UJ-85J drive. Any suggestions?

When I do, I get the error "PLS-00372: In a procedure, RETURN statement cannot contain an expression." I googled the error and got the simple advice to turn the query into a function. Simple to many, yes, but not to me. Also, 3.1 does not allow the selection "SQL function returning a query" or some such, only an anonymous PL/SQL block.
Any help (at a very elementary level, please), please?

the problem with your code is that it is designed as an PL/SQL body returning an SQL query not as an anonymous PL/SQL block.
Which version of ApEx are you using? I have taken a look into version 3.1 and there is the possibility to select 'SQL Query (n PL/SQL body returning an SQL query)'.

User Tracking - Application error: URN_NOT_FOUND

When I run a quick report in Campus Manager (User Tracking > Reports) I get the following error appearing in a window:
Application error: URN_NOT_FOUND : urn "ogs_server_urn" : Not found !!.
Acquisition is working fine – on completion it states how many new hosts have been discovered but I get the above error when I try running a report.
Reloaded server but problem persists. I’ve attached the output of pdshow and the cmapps log - any advice/guidance appreciated.

From which directory did you get this ctm_config.txt? I need to see the ones under NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/campus/WEB-INF/lib and NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cmapps/WEB-INF/lib.
Since this is LMS 2.6, I also need to see the output of the pdshow command.

How to track Unicode errors

Can any one give a briefing on the kind of unicode errors in SAP and how can we track the unicode errors <i>without</i> using the transaction UCCHECK .

Without UCCHECK that is going to be difficult tracking the Unicode errors. When the system is upgraded, we should run all the custom program through UCCHECK so that we know which programs have errors.
And more over its easy to do and you can do this in one shot for all the programs using the selection criterial of the transaction.
Other work around is to manually look at the code and see if there are any commands specified in the UNICODE COOKBOOK for ABAP used in the program.
