Track is stuck as downloaded, but cannot play from iTunes Store

I can download the song, and the cloud icon will show up, but I can never play it. It will let me download the song over and over again, but all I can ever get is "Downloaded" but never "Play". This is a student at my school and I don't want them to have to purchase another song instead, as they already paid for this one, but cannot use it.
I can download other songs, redownload songs that have been removed, but this one just will only be the cloud icon or downloaded.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? There have been reports that some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your utility. If iTunes is still listed, remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes. Consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure; you can find instructions for Norton on Symantec's web page for iTunes. You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.

Hey everybody,
I also was experiencing the unknown error -42018 when attempting to download purchased music. Additionally, I was stuck in an endless authorization loop when attempting to play previously purchaed music. All this started when I installed the latest iTunes software 7.0.2.
I run windows XP Pro, and unlike the majority of users I actually set it up correctly with a dedicated administrator account, and regular user accounts instead of just running as admin all the time. For me, that was the cause of the problem.
The new version of iTunes software required FULL CONTROL privilages on the iTunes and iPod install directories for all user accounts that were using the program. (Previous versions worked fine, so this is a new thing.) Once I provided those permissions, iTunes worked correctly. Follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 for information on how to provide FULL CONTROL to every user account.

Are the apps compatible with your model iPod and its iOS version? You say you have a iOS 4.2. That implies a 2G iPod. Many, many apps now require iOS 4.3 or later or a 3G or later iPod.
Also do you have Restrictions turned on that would d prevent installing those apps? Settings>General>Restrictions.

Downloading movies - Cannot connect to iTunes Store.

Hi, I'm trying to download a movie on my iPad mini and when it gets to the end of the download I get a message saying cannot connect to iTunes Store. I am connected and can download music. If I try and retry the download I get the same message. Help!

Try a couple of basic troubleshooting steps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to download the movie again.

I had already authorized the computer to play music, so I thought this was the only authorization I needed. i went ahead and authorized my computer, Now it shows that I have 2 authorized computers! I don't understand. Shouldn't one authorization be enough?

This is not a big problem as you can have up to five authorised devices.
However, if this is a problem you can go to Store, View my Account,
Deauthorize All
Then you will have to authorize your computer again.
Hopefully the number will stay as 1.

Unable to download and install apps from iTunes store !!!

I am in Bosnia and Herzegovina. When I try to install free or purchase apps from apple iTunes store, i click on the desired app and the window pops up where i need to enter and confirm my data, all goes well until the moment when i need to confirm my details.
Also, since there is no Bosnia and Herzegovina in listed countries (which is really unfair by Apple !!!) i have to use Croatia as my country but when i click confirm data and instead of going to next step and finalizing installation, pop up screen goes black and the only working option left to do is click home button.
I dont know if this issue has to do with the ipad2 i am using at the moment or with the fact that i live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, country not listed in the filling form and therefore i cannot use my address and phone and cc data for shoping or even downloading and installing free apps for my iPad2 ?!?
Could anyone please kindly help me clarify this.
P.S. I am really insulted by the fact that there are some god forsaken countries listed but no Bosnia and Herzegovina. - if it turns out that i cannot get apps for my ipad2 only because i live in B and H, i will return the device and become an ex apple fan !!!

Downloading already purchased items from itunes store

Every time I buy a song or any other audio file, not podcasts or vidieos just audio, it never downloads. I always get erro number 9006 and it says some purchases cannot be dowloaded, but it happens with all of them. What do I do?

Try signing out and into your account. Click your name on the top right > sign out. Sign back in as normal. Now go to Store > Check For Purchases.

Be careful as you shop. A lot of the stuff at Acoustic Sounds is DSD encoded, which iTunes will not play.

Re-downloading already purchased music from itunes store

My computer recently crashed, and had to buy a new computer. I have lost all my music files, and would like to download my purchases again to my new computer. How is this possible? My account history shows my purchases, but I seem to be unable to find out how to do it without buying the files again.

Sorry to say, you were supposed to read the stuff that says you are responsible for backing up your music files.
If you have an iPod, you can get the purchases back from it.
You can contact the iTS and ask for another download, if they take pity on you maybe they will allow it since they have to pay royalties again on those downloads.

Cannot buy from iTunes Store in iTunes after updates.

I am running the latest version of iTunes and OSX. Everything was fine until then.
I went to purchase a movie from within iTunes and as soon as I hit Buy, iTunes locked up and would no longer respond. I thought it was a fluke, and went on and purchased on my AppleTV (3, latest software) and was able to watch the movie. However, iTunes on my Mac does not show the movie as being purchased, even though my Apple TV, iPad and iPhone all show the movie as purchased. When I go into iTunes on the Mac, and select Store menu, Check For Available Downloads, nothing comes up to download.
I have deauthorized and authorized.
I have checked/repaired permissions.

I am having the same problem on my ipod touch and my iPad 2 any suggestions on how to fix this
