Track Labels Incorrect on Burned CD's

Some of the CD's that I burn with songs purchased from iTunes have the incorrect artist listed with the track names. In all cases, the song name is correct, but the artist was the one performing the prior song. Any suggestions? This has happened in more than one version of iTunes

hi Melissa!
I'm very dissapointed.
hmmm. this can certainly be a dealbreaker for people. have you considered using a different music-manager/CD burning combo that supports CD text?

  • First few seconds of tracks wiped out after burning

I have audio over a black screen playing at the beginning of a track. When I simulate it, everything is fine and I hear the entire track, but when I burn and play in a DVD player, the first 1.5 seconds or so are not played. This doesn't appear to be a delay in going from the menu button to the track, because if I start playing it, then use the "chapter back" control to go to the beginning of the first chapter, I still don't hear the first 1.5 seconds.
    Any ideas?

I have been burning these same minute long songs in different order (christmas songs for kids) for xmas plays for the past 10 years….never a problem.  This year, cuts off beginnings of the songs….my playlist usually has 4-5 short .mp3 songs…must be the new versions of iTunes - as I tried a couple different versions of version 11 - same thing.
I did discover that if I convert these to .aiff, they burned correctly.  You can change how to convert them in general settings of preferences.

  • Burning and no track labels showing

I am transferring records to CD-R's and while the music has transfered, the Album name, Artist, and track names are not showing up when playing back the burned CD. This inormation has been entered on the playlist in the associated columns. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be.
    Thanks

Live Type does not support audio.
It did not do that in 1999 when it was called India Pro and developed by Prismo Graphics, nor has it since Apple bought and re-packaged it in 2003.
What you can do to work around this, is export a reference track from FCP with markers that can be used as cues for your titles. they will appear above the Timeline.
Distinct labels: Text tracks have their actual text content displayed in the track itself on the timeline.
Tracks containing an image or movie display the original file name as it would be seen in the Finder.
Not sure about your remarks regarding Flash, which is an Adobe application in any case.
Flash Player is a free download for any OS. If you want to create Flash content you need to buy the application.

  • Retaining track information on a burned CD

    Hello,
I know this question has been asked before... but I'd like some clarification. When I burn CD's in iTunes on my computer at home it of course retains all the info from the burn. However, when I put the CD in my Win XP computer at work, or my iBook even... That data is lost. I realize a database file is updated so that info is shown on the original computer. How then do I make sure the info is retained so that other computers can see the track information?
    Thank you very much,
    CanOfTin

    Thank you for your replies.
The upload idea I thought of... but I believe it would only work if I was burning exact copies of a label CD... and since I'm not duplicating discs, rather just burning songs that I have from various playlists... it wouldn't work.
As for the Cd's... yeah I was afraid that may be the problem. Thought it couldn't hurt to ask though. Thanks for clarifying.

  • CD Tracks names are not burning. CD Text box is checked

Something has all of a sudden changed for me in Itunes. When I create a playlist, then burn it to a blank CD, the CD information is not there when I put the cd in another computer. It just lists, Track 01, Track 02, etc.
Edit, preferences, advanced, burning.....Audio CD is checked. Include CD Text is checked also.
Please, please help. This is so aggravating!

I am having the same problem - but I thought it used to work.
Do you think it once worked in an old iTunes also?

  • "Track initialization error" when burning DVD

This message keeps coming up when I try to burn a DVD in iDVD from my G4 laptop. Movie is 28 minutes long. ANY help would be very gratefully appreciated. THANKS

    Rob,
    Thanks for posting!
I was at the point of starting a new discussion as I was afraid nobody was watching this one any more. To make things easy for everyone, I'll use the quoting method in order to answer to each and every question I have an answer for. So let's just go for it...
"If i understand correctly...you shot new footage and used a different computer and it still did the same thing!"
Nope. I've always used the same hardware/software for importing/editing my footage(s). Hardware: Power Mac G5 DP 1.8GHz / Software: iMovie v5.0.2 and iDVD v5.0.1
"Can you down load the video to the Mac Mini and try it from there rather than transferring the project?"
As you can imagine, it would be such a big hassle to import/edit the movie in the Mac mini, executing precisely the same steps I did when using the Power Mac G5.
"Delete your audio track and try it again."
Been there, done that. No way Jose!
    "Without any chapter markers."
Didn't try that, though I've removed the chapter markers from 'risky' points, like transitions, etc.
"What is on your audio track and where did it come from?"
My audio tracks consist of the sound contained by the movie itself, plus two AAC (m4a) songs bit rated at 192kbps using iTunes v5.0 (also tried with .mp3 format but the result was the same). The tracks have a 30 to 40 seconds gap between them, so no sound mix between these 2 songs.
"As well how did you shoot the footage and with what type of camera....just wondering."
No special procedures here, Rob. I'm no professional, so I usually turn camera ON and start recording straight away. My camera is a JVC Mini DV GR-DX77E perfectly recognised by the Apple iMovie software.
"Have you successfully burned any DVD's before? What method are you burning it in Best quality or Performance? How do you transfer the project to DVD?"
Yes. My first tape was imported using iMovie v5.0.2, using the 'Best Quality' preference, edited there and exporting to iDVD, and there (in iDVD) is where trouble starts. So I googled for troubleshooting and stopped here for a carefull reading:
    http://dvd.kentidwell.com/?page_id=65
I ran OnyX v1.5.2 for Panther and able to burn my project into a DVD without glitches. One thing I noticed (and honestly this can make the difference here), is that before I ran OnyX, everytime iDVD finished the assets task, it started encoding audio and here's where the error took place. After the OnyX intervention, it started encoding video and then audio successfully.
"I know it is a pain to do these things but we will probably find out it is something simple blocking the burn. Try it also with a different Menu theme. Get a real simple one."
I've tried the 'real simple' menus, like the ones bundled with iDVD. Sorry, but it makes no difference.
"What photos are you putting in the menu theme?"
No photos in the projects. Just the movie and audio tracks (preferable all AAC).
"You could also try to burn it as a disc image to disc utilities and see if that works."
Burn as disc image gives exactly the same error at exactly the same point: Track initialization error.
"Start from the very beginning and dellete anything to do with iMovie or iDVD. In the libraries and in Documents"
I've deleted the .plist docs for iMovie and iDVD software, but it didn't solve.
"I know you used Onyx but I have Onyx too and it never worked for me."
Carefull to see if you're using the correct version for your operating system, as there are different ones for Jaguar, Panther and Tiger.
"It didn't delete or clean anything."
It does for me. You have to use the 'cleanning' option in the application's toolbar.
"I am going to toss it and try and down load it again."
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english.html
"Now everytime I use it it comes up with an error message...so delete what you can yourself."
I suppose OnyX comes with an uninstaller, so give it a try.

  • No track ID's when burning boucht album

I purchased an album on at the ITunes Store which downloaded fine, including all of the track info and artwork. When I burned a CD none of the track data was transferred. Any suggestions?
I have been told to burn it as an MP3 but ITunes will not allow that from a bought ITunes album.
I have made sure that the "text" button is checked and still nothing?
I would think that if you buy an album from the ITunes stors you would not have any problems. HELP!!
    [email protected]

Audio CDs burned with iTUnes or any other program do not contain any of the track info or artwork, just a commercial audio CDs do not contain this info.

  • Track order incorrect

I have a couple albums on my iPod where the track order is listed incorrectly. The track order used to be correct very recently (not exactly sure when, probably about a week ago). When I sync with iTunes and click under my iPod the tracks are displayed in the correct order, but then once I disconnect the iPod the tracks go back to the wrong order. Any ideas?

Try going right clicking on the song and go to Get Info and change the info to what you want it to be so that it goes in the right order.

  • Excluding tracks from a CD burn

    Hi,
Complete newbie question: How do I exclude tracks from a song when burning a CD? I want to burn several CD's with various combinations of tracks.
    Thanks,
    Richard

burning from GB is all or nothing. you'd have to create separate projects, or export them to iTunes and set up playlists to burn from there

  • Music Store purchase problem / track labelling wrong

I purchased 2 tracks from the UK iTunes stores. The artist was Misty's Big Adventure and the tracks were the 2 b-sides to the "Story of Love EP". The track "I Buried the Neighbours" is fine, its the track "My Tired Eyes", its the wrong track.
Once downloaded I played the track and although it's titled "My Tried Eyes" it's actually the EP's title track "The Story of Love", I know this because I have the "Story of Love" on the album which I own on cd.
The store is wrongly selling the same track twice under 2 different names.
iTunes has messed up somewhere and I need to know how I go about getting a refund, or the track replaced with the right one.
    Thanks James

James, fill in the form at the bottom of the page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/musicstore/songs/
Be sure to provide them with the names of the incorrect songs so they will be able to correct the problem.

  • Can't burn full disc bought from itunes b/c track is disabled for burning??

CD is Sugarland, Enjoy the Ride. Everytime I try to burn a disc, during the checking playlist step I get a message that one of the tracks (These are the Days) is disabled for burning. Help!

Apparently there are several issues that Apple has when attempting to burn your own CD for music. There are also several applications available in Itunes to burn a CD, I.T. MP3 etc. I am still having problems creating my own CDs' , initially, I did not have a problem, once I activated the MP3 downloads, all bets were off....

  • ITunes does not read audio track info from CD burned with Toast 10 Titanium

I cannot get iTunes on my Mac laptop to read the CD text that I type when I burn an audio disc on Toast 10.0.7. This is true, even though I choose the Toast option "Add CD Text." I have to re-enter the info into iTunes, duplicating the effort I put into naming the tracks and artists in Toast. Even after doing all this, however, the track icons within the disc icon on the desktop will not reflect the iTunes info. When I click ""Get Info" for the disc, its says "You can only read" under the "Sharing & Permissions" section. How can I fix this? Is this a Toast issue or a Mac/iTunes issue?

It is an iTunes issue. iTunes can write CD text when it burns a CD, but is not capable of reading CD Text from a CD.
If you want to see a list of ripping tools that can read CD Text, refer to this Wikipedia article. If you don't have time to read it, here is a summary: almost every ripping tool can read CD Text, except iTunes.

  • No sound track support and no track labeling

Apple drops support for flash files. Offers up it's own app for titling and yet as far as I can determine, I cannot work/sync with my titling sequence to a soundtrack or make distinct labels for the tracks I'm using. This is, if true, incredibly asinine!
I have to give up my earlier work in flash, remake it with apple software and I'm given limits one wouldn't even find in shareware. ***!
