Trsckpad goes from being over reactive theb does not respond at all. Wireless works ok. I have a MACBOOK

I would Update printer driver
I would try with another computer
If same issue i would have a talk with the printer maker

Track pad responsive at first then erratic

18 month old 16 inch macbook pro. Track pad responsive when computer first turned on then after a few minutes track pad erratic and unresponsive. Cursor floats, stubborn movement. When external mouse plugged in, all works fine. How much does it cost to replace track pad? Any first aid tips?

It could also be a swollen battery, that is pushing at the trackpad. By the way, Apple has no 16" MBP.

Does PSE 13 work with track pad? (PSE 12 does not)?

I am considering upgrading to PSE 13 but with PSE12 there is a serious problem with the track pad. It does not work with Yosemite and PSE 12. Get spinning ball and cannot use many tools like quick select, lasso etc.
I have to use the mouse. There has been discussion on this forum and hopefully a bug report has gone in to Apple or Adobe whoever is responsible.
SO here is my question. Has PSE 13 been tested to determine if track pad works? Many Mac users have portables and do NOT want to have to carry around a mouse.
I am not going to spend to upgrade to 13 if the track pad problem is present in that version.

The issue with trackpad does not exist in Elements 13.
You can download the trial before you buy and give it a try.

Yesterday my track pad went haywire. My pointer was all over the place and my screen would not stay still. After shutting down and trying time capsule I still had the problem. Today it's as if nothing ever happened

What causes the trackpad and screen become jittery and hard to control. There were no sticky buttons and no visible reason for the malfunction. I tried resetting with time capsule and shutting down with no progress. Later I booted to Windows to see if it could be hardware but my pad worked okay there. WOW. Today I open Mavericks and everything is fine. Anyone might know of a cause?

Same here. First I was under iOS 8.0.0, brand new 6 plus. Reminders had the same problem: I can't add any task and can't add a new page, can't change the name of the blank page I have in front of me, my reminders are not synced with the computer.
The only thing I can do is clic on the alarm icon (half-hidden) and when I do it's also blank and I can't add anything, Siri can't either.
I tried updating to iOS 8.0.2, I tried turning on off the phone, turing on/off the sync with iCloud, restarting the app... Nothing worked.
I added a screen shot of both the only screens I can see (in french, but "Nouvelle liste" means "New list" and "Programmé" means "Scheduled" so you should recognise the screens).

You must be connected to a data source for iMessage to work, either 3G or WiFi, as does the person you're trying to use iMessage with. If not, iMessage will default to SMS if that is enabled in settings.

My printer now prints out in the wrong colours or not at all, why?

I am using a photosmart 5515 driver version 3.5.2 on a mac IOS version 10.6.8.
My problem is that up until recently I have been able to print without any problems and then all of a sudden the printer is printing documents in a very pale blue colour instead of black. If i change the presets it sometimes doesnt print at all just churns out blank pages after going through the motions of printing ie the ink carriage moving across the page.
I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the original software without success.
I have also taken it back to PC World where I bought it from who did a test print successfully.
I am therefore thinking it must be a communucation problem but I dont know what.

HP Mini 210-1000sa Track Pad Problem

I've just bought a HP Mini 210-1000sa and I'm finding the Track pad truely AWFUL to use - not at all up to the usual HP high quality.
As the left and right buttons are part of the track pad "sensitive" area, when you use one finger to position the cursor then touch the left button area with another finger the track pad will either:
a) move the cursor to a new position!
b) ignore your click because you already have a finger touching the pad (leading to having to make several click attempts!
c) it might work
A further problem is that although the buttons give a re-assuring "click", as they are part of the "sensitive" area of the pad, if your finger is too high on the paad (ie outside the marked area of the button), it will still "click" but nothing happens.
Is there an update (software or hardware) to fix this problem? I'm finding it unusable as it is, I have to use an external usb or bluetooth mouse. This partly defeats the object of having an ultra portable device!

Hi I bought recently HP Mini 210-1118TU laptop, I am observing that bottom of laptop is gettign very hot, I am not sure how to check whether fan is working or not, or how to check PCU temperature. Can someone help me with my iMac track pad? My computer has been off for 10 days and when I turned it on the curser will not move. The green light on the track pad would come on then off so i replaced the batteries in the track pad but it still does not work. Not sure if the grandchildren were on it over the holidays could something be locked on the keyboard?

1. Make sure that battery is in normal condition.
2. Shut down the computer.
    Clean the trackpad with moist not wet microfiber cloth.
    System Preferences > Point & Click
    Try turning off three finger dragging and then turning it on after testing.
3. Is there any Bluetooth device nearby with failing batteries? If so, replace the batteries.
4. Reset PRAM:   http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222
5. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
6. Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Click the Spotlight -the magnifying glass icon- in the menu bar. Enter Disk utility in the box.
    Select Disk Utility. When the Disk utility window opens up,
    select Macintosh HD, then First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk Permission
    Ignore the time remaining estimate.
    Last 1 minute may take longer.

Mac air ''11 track pad/ system problem?

I have a mac air 2011 ill give more specs when i get home.
So i turn my mac on and it acts normal for a few mins, then the cursor starts flipping out and when i move my R.A.T mouse. I cannot click on anything st all no side bar no windows open nothing on the desktop. My track pad has been warn down over the past 3 years and ive been using usb mice to game since i got the laptop. The track pad is unresponsive and does not click and moves sporadically when i try to move it.
I recently updated my air to maverick last week. Prior to this it had no problems at all. Then again my track pad has been messed up for a while now, jst before this happened, it would occasionally stick or double click when i click once.
I have tried PRAM reset. It works for about 5 mins and then it goes crazy again. Thr two things ive seen online is get a t-6 hex screw driver and tighten the screws or go to apple. Any one else have this problem? Is there any simple fix or anything i can do? Also i hVent had time to get a screwdriver yet.
So basically i cant use my laptop now. I can turn it on for five minutes but if i touch the track pad or wait a bit, the laptop will jst spazz the cursor out and after that it i cant click anything. Also during the spazz period i saw that it sometimes goes to mission control, the screen where all of your desktops or full screen programs pop up. Help meeee i need to get back to gw2!! Thanks

MacBook Track Pad shake

My track pad has begin acting weird lately the pointer is jumping sideways. Restarting the computer calms the problem for a few minutes.
Holding my finger on the track pad but not moving it will result in the cursor position jumping around.
Might be an associated problem... keystrokes are often lost .... as just happened.
The problem is worse when setting my MacBook Pro on my lap... although the problem appears when placing the system on a table.. just not as often.

It could be due to a Windows Update.
I am also facing this issue. All my friends using Windows on Mac are also have got these ssues.

Track pad stopped tracking and wi fi mouse jumpy

My track pad suddenly started acting weird, then the tracking stopped working completely. Clicking only works. I bought a wi fi mouse so I can use my laptop until I found out what's the problem and it worked for a couple of days and now it's jumpy and erratic and opening applications and shutting down pages all on its own. As I write this it keeps changing the cursor's place and going elsewhere to open drop down menus and open folders all on its own. Any idea what's going on and any advice how to resolve this issue that's making the laptop unuseable? Thanks in advance for any insights.

I deleted the mouse by selecting it in the bluetooth options and clicking the minus tab. I went ahead and reinstalled OS X right afterwards. Right now I am having to use a USB mouse and keyboard. I disconnected both prior to start up. I get a widow that shows a demonstration on how to install batteries into a wireless mouse only way to pass that screen was to reattach the USB mouse. Then with a fresh startup no resolve.

Track pad is going crazy

I have been using track pad for my iMac for several years, but just recently, it has been going crazy by operating erratically so it's no longer usable. I looked up the apple community and I am not the only one. Also, there seems to be no solution posted. Should we just expect the life cycle of track pad to be just couple of years?

I went into the Apple store and explained the problems with the track pad. I also asked the employee to connect my track pad to the new iMac on display. My track pad behaved erractically as usual and the guy spoke with the one of the Genius' at the bar and they told me they would repalce the track pad as one time thing. This is why Apple is so awesome. I can not think of any other company that would do this after the warranty period is over. Thanks Apple!
