Track Subinventory with cost centres

Hi Experts,
In my company, there are around 20 Cost centres which transacts between each other. We follow FIFO accounting. There are many locations of these cost centres, hence items needs to be shipped for internal requisitions.
Now I am designing the Inventory Org Structure, where I should be able to track all cost centre wise transactions (accounting entries). Can I :
1- create each cost centre as Inventory Org?
2- create physical location wise Inv Org and under which all cost centre as subinventory? if yes, then how can i track accounting for each cost centres, for any subinventory transfers, move orders etc or inter org transfers?
3- please can you suggest any possible structure?
CAN WE CHANGE THE COST GROUP WHICH IS DEFAULTED FROM ORG PARAMETER TO BE DIFFERENT FOR EVERY SUBINVENTORY?
Thanks a lot.
Need the reply ASAP....

I would go for cost center wise Inventory Org for better tracking of accounting transactions, as each inventory org will be mapped to different account codes.
Thanks,

  • Rel. strategy is not triggered while creation of PR with cost centr

    Hi Gurus,
While creation of PR release strategy is not getting triggered with cost centre BCWSV870. But release strategy of PR triggered for cost centre BCWSV852 (In PR changed only cost centre as BCWSV852 instead of BCWSV870). Both cost centres are similar and the both cost centres are exist in characteristics value in CL20N for the same release strategy.
My question is why for one cost centre triggers release strategy triggers and for other cost centre release strategy is not triggered. Can you please tell how come this and rewarded for answer this.
    With regards,
    C. Sundar Rajan

    Hi,
In regard to problematic PR with cost center BCWSV870, was your PR maintained with only one line item? or multiple line items?.  In additions, when defining cost center as part of the release strategy structure, did you enter all cost centers with leading zeros?  Tak a further look into OSS Note 365604 for your further investigation.

Z message means you have a custom validation in Place
Go to OB28 and check which validation is causing this issue..
you need to either change it so that this posting goes through or use a proper GL account in accordance with the validation

  • MM Release Strategy with Cost Centre

My characteristics for the release strategy is Accnt Assigmnt (KNTTP), Cost Centre (KOSTL) and Amount (GSWRT). I link all to the ceban straucture, and for the cost centre, I entered in the value tab the cost centres that I am using, and I entered the cost centres in the release strategy. Everything seem OK for the release strategy, but the release strategy is only selecting the strategy according to the values and not considering the cost centre, what can I do let it consider the cost centre and the value. I have been struggleing with this problem more than a week now. I tried everything that I can think of. Can someone assit me in this matter. I am on ECC 6.

  • Report with Cost Centre/Cost Element/Internal Orders required

    Hello SAP Gurus
I need to run a report in CO where the output displays actual line items for Cost Centre, Cost Elements and Internal Orders in a single report. Is anyone aware of any SAP Std reports that provide this information. So far I havent found any
    Thanks
    Prakash

    Hi,
You can use this one S_ALR_87013602 for totals, but, of course, it does not split between cost objects. For line items, you can build simple SQVI based on COEP table.

  • Custom Search Help for Functional Area of Cost Centre(KS01/KS02)

    Hi,
I need to implement a custom search help and custom enhancement for the field Functional Area in Basic Data tab of Cost Centre Create/Change(KS01/KS02) transactions. Details of the requirement are as below:
    1. There will be a custom relation for the Cost Centre category and Functional Area which was maintained thru a SAP standard table TKA05 and a custom table.
2.When the relation to Cost Centre category and Functional Area is a one to one it exist in the TKA05 and if its one to many it will be maintained in the custom table.
    3. The requirement is when the Cost Center to Functional area is maintained in table TKA05(One to One) in this case the corresponding Functional Area needs to be populated automatically after entering the cost centre and pressing a enter key by user.
4.When the Cost Centre Category and Functional area does not exist in table TKA05 and existing in custom table(One to Many) in this case the F4 should be enabled for user selection with the list of Functional area values corresponding to the cost centre category entered that are maintained in the custom table.
As per the functionality provided by SAP the input help(F4) of the field Functional area in Cost Center does not have any relation with Cost Centre Category. The existing F4 is from the Value Table(TFKB) attached to the domain of FKBER.
Please provide your valuable inputs to implement the above requirement. Your input will be rewareded.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Prasad.

    kalyani,
i can see your requirement in below way..
as it just reads: you need to assign the standard cost center help to a z cost center field in component /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC.. which actually is fetched though the component /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH
so, if you see the component controller of SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC you will see the component
    USAGE_SH_F4     /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH
    USAGE_SH_F4     /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_BACKEND_SH     INTERFACECONTROLLER
so you can replicate the same functionality for your z field.
but can you clarify one thing.. why are you going for this z field in place of standard field ?

  • Asset Posting-Cost Centre input field

I am trying to post an asset acquisition using FB01.  While posting the amount to the asset, system does not show the cost centre as greyed out eventhough the FSGs for GL and posting key are suitably modified with 'cost centre' as 'optional'.  How the cost centre field is coming greyed out and not able to enter a value at the time of APC posting ?
    Please offer your comments.

    Hi Jyoti
Thanks for messaging.  In fact I had assigned a cost centre in the Asset Master.  I was trying to change the cost centre in the FI Posting.  Hence it was greyed out.  Forgetting this aspect, I was doing a wrong move.

  • Cost centre and Profit centre in one query - Authorisations not working!

    Hiya,
I have another problem related to Analysis Authorisations.
I have created an AA with Cost Centre and Profit centre access restricted to a certain node of a hierarchy (type 1 - this node and below). For example, the User can only run a query at Cost Centres level of Country Belgium - the query works fine. Now, the user wants to drill down by the relevant Profit centres. According to the log, the system checks for Profit centres like * and says the user is not authorised. All this, despite the fact that all Profit centres belong to country Belgium and user has been given access to see these profit centres.
What do I need to do to enable drilldown by Profit centre? I can't make a "*" access to Profit centre as the user will be able to run other queries at global level, which is not what I can allow.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
I don't know if it is relevant, but I had a similar problem when I had two characteristic each with hierarchy restrictions in one authorization object.
I "solved" it by separting each characteristic into its own authorization object.

  • Cost centre assemment cycle

    Dear all,
Question on Cost Center Assessment Cycle:
Controlling environment: only one controlling area with several company codes.
In my standard hierarchy we've got some nodes with cost centre from different company codes in the same node.
I would like to transfer cost from one node to another node via an assessment cycle.
So I activated “company code” in header data as selection criteria for cost center assessment cycle via Tcode KCIU.
This selection criteria will allow SAP to sort cost centre and only takes the one which will correspond to company code selected.
The sender rule is the "posted amount" and the receiver rule is the "percentage".
Once cycle has been created, I click on the check icon and the check was successful.
When I execute it, SAP warns me that "no valid sender entries were found". The message errors numbers are GA749 and GA710. And those messages correspond to FI message and not CO.
I do not understand because there are posted amounts and all cost centers exist with the good period of validity.
Do you know why? Do you have an explanation?
Is it really possible to activate some news criteria selection for cost centre assessment cycle? Or definitively not possible.
Did I forget any else customizings?
    Best regards
    Sovann leng

You have two directions to resolve this issue:
1- check TCODE GCA8 and check whether the new GL tables are listed or added specially the FAGLFLEXT
2- You probably need to change the From To periods in the selection parameters. Don't make the From To the same period.
Make sure the Settlement profile is configured appropriately. With a bit of trial and error concerning the GCA8 including defining a new Cycle with another segment, and it'll work.

  • Cost centre hierarchy

What s the purpose of dealing with cost centre hierarchy?(Financial->Cost accounting-> cost centre hierarchy)
Where does this actualy fits into?
    Regards,
    vasanthi.

    Hello vasanthi,
Please look for the information on Cost Center via B1 online help.
    1. Financials->Cost Accounting->Define Cost Center Hierarchy, here
you can define a new template as you need, add department as
Slibling and add various expenses/revenues as the Child to relevant
    department.
    2. Financials->Cost Accounting->Profit Center - Report-> Select the
Dimension used in the template from the drop down list then tick the
radio button before 'Template' and select the template you have defined,
    then click 'OK'.
Link between cost center hierarchy and chart of accounts:
First of all, you define the various cost centers or departments in your
    company as profit centers.
Then assign revenue and expense accounts to the profit centers so that
any data relevant to a profit center can
be updated automatically for all transactions entered in the system.
(This is where we have a link between chart of accounts and cost center
    hierarchy).
Costs are allocated to the profit centers using information that you
define in a distribution rule. This means that any costs incurred willbe
allocated to the profit centers on the basis of a specific key.
If you decide that the way in which costs are allocated no longer
reflects the way in which your company works, you simply change the
    distribution rule as required.

  • Storing Cost Centres as Text Fields

I have a problem at a client with cost centres. They have cost centres that are numeric some of which are prefixed with leading zeroes, some not-for example 12345 and 0012345. These are two distinct cost centres, but due to the formatting on the KOSTL field SAP tries to store both as 0000012345. This means that one of the cost centre creates will reject. Is there any way of storing these cost centres as text within KOSTL, so that both can be stored.
    Thanks

I don't think that there are any other options.  Unless you want to try modding the SAP standard to remove the KOSTL conversion exit (only kidding - don't do this).

  • Release stratgey on Cost Centres

I want to make release strategy with Cost centre on purchase orders.but in CEKKO table there is not filed of cost centre..How i make characterstics of cost centere? More over I want to know that is it necessary to enter table name and field name while making characterstics.? How system know for cost centres if no linkage is made.?

    Hi,
    Create characteristic CEKKO  with KONNR,
Use user exit enhancement M06E0004 to populate value for KONNR based on the cost centers & for the value in EKPO - KOSTL ,get the department name from custom table and pass to CEKKO-KONNR.
For more check SAP Note: 493900
    Or
You can thought of keeping purchasing group as release characteristic & create  purchasing group  as department and create a cost center & assign department to cost center in KS02 in basis data TAB.

  • Po with account assignment cost centre

    dear friends,
When creating PO with account assignment cost centre, system should default GL account (i.e G/L will be picked automatically instead of entering manually.
    How this can be customized?
    regards, thanks

    The following configs are required.
    1. SPRO -> MM -> Purchase -> Material Master -> Entry aids -> here you maintain all relevant material groups, corresponding valuation class and Purchasing valuation key
    2. Then in OKB9, you will maintain company code, cost element, and cost center
    3. THen in OBYC, Valuation group code, valuation class and GL account.
With the above settings, the system will automatically detemine the GL account.
    Thanks and warm regards,
    Jagadeesh
