Track Tags

Please help, i cannot get itunes to sort in order of track number. all my albums are compilations and they are tagged correctly but they will not sort in order in the i tunes library nor in my ipod.

If they are compilations make sure they have the "compilation: yes" setting.
I've had a lot of trouble with the ALBUM ARTIST setting in my day so here are some tips:
You might also want to change the "album artist" name to Various Artists or the title of the album. That will keep things together.
If they are not compliations, make sure all the songs within the albums share the SAME album artist. Otherwise the songs are all over the place. It happened to me just yesterday.

  • Track tagging issues

Alright, so I uploaded a CD I just bought. iTunes tagged it all funky (listing the Artist for each track as "Soundtrack". So, I went to change the tags for all the songs, and it went just fine, until I decided to play the song. The tags reverted back to what they were before. I tried with other albums and so far it's just this album. What kind of problem is this?

    Hey
    I have the same problem
Did you find what was wrong with that?

  • Subtitles of the video wouldn't show up when I embed subtitles through track tag in html code

Used these two lines in <video> tag
    source src="Game.of.Thrones.S02E03.HDTV.x264-ASAP.What.Is.Dead.May.Never.Die.mp4" type="video/mp4"
    track kind="subtitles" src="Game of Thrones - 2x03 - What Is Dead May Never Die.720p HDTV.IMMERSE.en.srt"

I'm assuming you already have the subtitle file.
    Here's something that might help.
**I'm not a developer so just try it out.**
A little tip: Rename your .srt and .mp4 to gameofthrones.mp4 and gameofthrones.srt respectively to make it easier.
Your original code is: <br />
    <br />
    ''source src="Game.of.Thrones.S02E03.HDTV.x264-ASAP.What.Is.Dead.May.Never.Die.mp4" type="video/mp4"<br />
    <br />
    ''track kind="subtitles" src="Game of Thrones - 2x03 - What Is Dead May Never Die.720p HDTV.IMMERSE.en.srt"''
However, try changing to the things in bold: (''with rename of files of course'')
    source src="gameofthrones.mp4" type=video/mp4"<br />
    <br />
    '''track src="gameofthrones.srt" kind="subtitle" srclang="en-US" label="English'''
Try that out. Again, I'm not a developer.

  • Zen Vision:M Track Tag info?

I have a 30GB Zen Vision:M, and I'm having a problem that is apparently related to the tag information on some of my music. I've edited the tags on my computer (Win XP), and they all seem correct there, but on my Zen, they've got odd artist names, like "ACDC/ACDC" instead of "ACDC" which is what I see when I try to edit them. It's like they got set wrong at some point in the past, but in spite of my corrections (and recopying the music to my player), they're still showing up wrong.
    Any suggestions/ideas?
    Thanks!
    Kaiti

If you have already finished doing them thru Windows Explorer go to WMP in the options have it set to when you delete music from the library that it DOES NOT delete it from the computer. Then delete the ones you have corrected. Then have WMP scan to find music files & they will now be correct there as well.

I have a well organised music collection on my PC with correct album/artist tags. When I copy music over to the phone (Lumia 920) XBox Music ends up replacing some track tags with random artists, track names, album names and artwork. It also doesn't display some album artists despite correct tags. I never had any kind of problem like this on my previous phones (last being HTC Titan on WP 7.8. Has anyone else had this issue and what can be done to fix it?
    Thanks

  • In Media Source/Zen Xtra 30, track listed as "0", but the id3 tag is fi

Is their some way to resolve this? I have both fully updated.

No, there was definitely a problem with the track tag in mp3 files and it seemed to be OK with 3.30.2. here's the thread:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=82657
The solution is to upgrade to 3.30.2 and then re-import the offending files into MediaSource.

  • Zen Micro, WMA, Track number tag

Here is my problem : the track number tag of all my wma files contains 0(zero) on my Zen Micro, whereas it is fine on my PC !
I tried to use only the WM/TrackNumber tag... no succes !
I tried to use only the WM/Track tag... no success !
I tried to use both tags... no success !
Next, I modifed the track number tag directly using the Zen Micro Media Explorer. This works BUT if I transfer the wma file from my audio device to my PC and back from my PC to my Zen Micro then the track number tag contains 0 again !
Are you guys aware of this bug ?
Is the Creative tech support aware of it ?
Thank you in advance for any help.Message Edited by giom on 04-2-2005 2:40 AM

OK, just for you (and to satisfy my own curiousity), I ripped?two tracks using?the WMA 9. codec and Easy CD-DA Extractor?(with metadata enabled of course) at 64 kbit/s to the PC. I copied it using MediaSource 3.0.09 to my Zen Micro (.02.05). The track data including track number is still there.

  • Weird sort order for tracks / songs on walkman

    hi all
just browsing through the various ways of viewing songs on the walkman app (i.e. by artist, album & song) and I've realised that some tracks are not sorting correctly.
I know that would suggest a problem with their tagging but I don't think it's that, as I'm pretty careful about tagging and other programs read the id3 tags, etc, properly (and sort properly).
    Any suggestions?
I know that your media is scanned (I think on reboot, etc) but is it possibly that the current indexes just need deleting / re-scanning? If so, how do I wipe my music library listing?
    Thanks,
    Gary

Not sure but when I tag I make sure the tracks from an album have the same Album name and the track tag is added so they are placed in the right order or if I make my own playlist on my Pc then I will retag these with the Album name for example "Main 1" then tag the tracks for the order I want but remove Artist name and replace with "My Tracks" so there can be no issues at all
    hi Thommo
Is there any way that the app devs can be advised of this possible issue or we can have a properly informed response on how the app should sort (assuming it is behaving as intended)?
    To summarise:
I have a large number of mix tracks by different DJs. They are grouped in separate folders and both their filenames and tags uniquely identify them.
However, they have a common album tag ("online mixes")
    Examples:
Athan - online mixes - deepsessions on frisky radio (2015.01)
Athan - online mixes - deepsessions on frisky radio (2014.11)
In terms of tags these read:
    artist - athan
    album - online mixes
title - deepsessions on frisky radio (YYYY.MM)
    year - YYYY
    genre - blah blah
N.B. I don't use a track number tag for them
Despite using the above tags, they don't appear to sort by any order that I can work out. Some appear correct then others are out of sequence, with no explanation why.
Normal albums i.e. with multiple tracks and track numbers, sort ok.
I have worked out the year folder issue though - the 2 tracks in a separate group appeared there because Album Artist was, for some reason, populated.
    suggested behaviour:
logic would suggest that if there are items which don't have track numbers but are technically in the same folder, should they not get sorted by title or possibly absolute filename (after using the artist and album tags to 'group' them, since they exist)?
    Regards,
    Gary

  • URL Session Tracking

    Hi,
i want to make a group of JSP pages in a Web App, but assuming that the browser doesn't accept cookies.
Is there anyway that i don't have to indicate every link as
response.encodeUrl("index.jsp")I've heard something about a <url-session-tracking/> tag, but i've tried to put in the web.xml file, but it doesn't work.
I just want to put Index and the App Server takes care of putting the jsessionid info in front of the url
    Thank you

  • Nautilus does not show Tracker search results

    Hi,
I recently installed tracker and had it index my files. After indexing had finished, I tried tracker-search and tracker-needle, both of which returned the files I was looking for. But in Nautilus, searching via CTRL+F still only returns files whose filenames are matching my query. Nautilus does not seem to integrate Tracker search results properly, as it should according to this forum thread. Tagging files via the tracker-tags plugin in Nautilus works just fine. Re-installing nautilus did not change anything.
Any ideas what could be the problem here?
    Thanks,
    mfs

Hmm, I think it is supposed to use tracker if installed. At least nautilus has a build option called enable-tracker which is set to auto by default (I also compiled it with enable-tracker=yes but nothing changed). Also, "wonder" said in the thread quoted above that nautilus would use tracker and find only as fallback.

  • Zen Vision M track t

I have the latest firmware installed on my 30 Gb Vision M player. Even though I have verified that all my music has the proper track ID tags on my PC, they do not show up properly on the M. They are usually displayed as Track 0 on the Zen, but for some albums they are correct. It doesn't matter what I've used to do the transfer. Has anybody figured out a fix for this? Is Creative going to fix this? Do es all other tag info have to be filled in in order to get the track tag across correctly?By the way, Album Art will show up consistently if you don't have the Media Player Runtime installed.

It may be a bug in the Zen Media Explorer's audio CD ripping wizard.
Try to use Creative MediaSource to rip.

  • Zen MicroPhoto not playing tracks in proper ord

    Hey all,
Just got this player and it is pretty good. Having one problem though. Some albums do not play songs in the proper order. Instead they are played in alphabetical order. I checked the tag information on the player and it reads the tracks as having no track number. And when I check them through Zen Media Explorer no track numbers are there. But Windows Explorer clearly shows the proper track numbers in the tag information.
I think the player does not read some tags properly. I had a Phillips based player before this one and it did not have this problem, nor did my RCA Lyra.
This is a make or break situation for this player. I need it to play my album songs in the proper order.
    Thanks,
    Ply

    Ok,
Found out what was wrong. Dragging and dropping through Windows explorer was causing the problem. Dragging and dropping through the Zen explorer properly transfers the track tags. Don't know why it makes a difference, but ohwell, at least it works now...

  • Recent bugs? Click when clicking off/Related to the Sort Artist/Album/Track

I've had my G5 for about a year now and it bit the dust, 4 days before my year was up :-D So I got it replaced but since then I have noticed something odd. I have clicking turned off but I can still hear it faintly in my headphones.
Also, I began tagging my library with Album Artist and using Artist for a featured musician or remixer. Well to keep my sanity, I used the Sorting options to keep everything together in the transition. Well, after I got about 500 tracks tagged, I plugged in my iPod to sync and I have multiple duplicate artist entries on my iPod. I remove the Sorting options and it's fine. Is this a bug or feature No seriously, has anyone else experienced this? I have the latest iTunes update.

I'm also sometimes getting some feedback when I change songs, a sound that ramps up then the track plays. Possibly hard drive spinning up? I have had this issue with my last iPod, I technically have until tomorrow until my full year is up so I may take it in again.

  • Album Tracks

iTunes has changed the track order of two new albums. I've gone into get info and verified that the track numbers are correct (1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc), but in the library and on my ipod they are in a different order. How do I change the order of album tracks in my library?

    mureid,
The track tags in the info are simply for reference relating to the original album. iTunes isn't bound by that, and can arrange the tracks however you wish. If you have a playlist in which the tracks of an album are out of order, go to that playlist, click the box that's to the left of "Name" (in the sorting row, which usually contains "Name", "Album", "Artist", etc.) After clicking once in the black sort box, you'll be able to drag tracks around until they're in whatever order you'd like them to be in.
Give it a try and let me know if it doesn't address what you were asking about.

  • What is causing my new track info to disappear?

Using OS 10.7.5 on a Macbook Pro running iTunes 10.7.
I've been entering genre, bpm, and grouping data for song files I copied over from my older Mac before I junked it. Several times now, I've entered data for hundreds of tracks only to go back later and have the data gone. Oddly, not for all the songs; just data entered on a certain day or session; with more recent data preserved. And not all fields vanish every time. Ratings are never affected.
The first time this happened I chimed in on a thread about album art and track tags going missing because of a glitch with iTunes Match. So, I turned off Match. Disconnected from iCloud. And the problem happened twice since. Previous times, I re-entered the data and those tracks have not lost their data again. Only newer ones, but not all the newer ones.
This time, I hadn't even closed iTunes or logged out! So, my Mac appears to be playing some sort of prank on me! Confidence in my tagging efforts is suffers greatly:(
Anybody seen this, or know what I can do to stop it?

Airplay is a lossy process and must compress the display frame on the sending device in real time and transfer the compressed image to the AppleTV - it will adapt and give worse results with slower LAN speeds.
Bear in mind that if both the AppleTV and sending device are wireless they have to share available LAN bandwidth, whereas AppleTV playing from the internet may be the only active wifi connection.
So yes in theory having AppleTV on ethernet may well help.
It may not be the whole issue though.  You may be seeing a difference between your plasma and LCD TVs - I've always preferred the smooth look of plasmas whereas LCD these days tends to give razor sharp pics that could accentuate any pixellation artefcat by just looking sharper.  Are the TVs located in different areas, as if in same place the wifi characteristics for Airplay would be the same for both in theory (unless new TV causing interference and degrading wifi speed - maybe reposition AppleTV?).
Also some TVs have aggressive motion compensation features that whilst sounding good in theory can actually make some content look worse - have a play with your TV set settings.
