WIth Nexus 7k/5k, you can use the show accounting log. For IOS i think you need to get ACS access to get accounting info.

  • Tracking User Activity with Standard Web Logs and Tools Like WebTrends

We are running EP 6 SP14 on UNIX and I'm looking to track user activity.  Not just how many people have logged in, but who is accessing what documents in KM.  For example, what documents are the most popular and how much use the system is getting.
I was hoping that EP 6 (Unix platform) ran off us some standard web engine (like Apache) and we could just turn web logs on, but from the lack of discussion on SDN, I'm not encouraged.
All I've seen is unofficial link to a Portal Activity Report, which would get us part of the way, but is not full web reporting.
    Portal Activity Report:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn?id=/library/uuid/0101b690-0201-0010-6584-a02730ad5edd
Does anyone have any insight on this?

    HI llise
Did you get any answers? We are in the same quandry as the exisitng tracking reports are not sufficient for our needs as our users are used to using more sophisticated tools like livestat.

  • Tracking user activity, 'Activity Universe'

How can I track user activity within InfoView and Central Management Console of Crystal?  I need to audit which users are viewing which reports, what changes they are making, permissions that are being set and so on...
I have heard of "Activity Universe".  Is it part of Crystal, I dont seen an install option when I install and I dont see any clear reference to it?

I found the audit page, that is what I need.
However... it is not available to me:   "Your license does not allow auditing."
What kind of licensing do I need?
    What is the cost?
Is there a webpage that clearly explains the licensing cost/options?

  • Track User Activity

    Hello,
I need to be able to track our user activity in a company intranet.  I need to track when and capture the user name of the employee to a database so that I can build reports from it.
This is more than web statistics. I need to be able to verify that the user actually visited the page.
Any ideas and tips would be greatly appreciated!  I can't find an extension that works with ASP to help me with this.
    Crystal

As much as I believe in Dreamweaver for corporate intranets, due to the typical structure, your best bet is Sharepoint Server with Sharepoint Designer.  You can track by the network login and do many things that would take a lot of programming for a Dreamweaver based site and it supports ASP much better than DW ever will because ASP is made by MS.

  • Tracking user activity (including objects/records/data viewed)

    Hello everybody,
I am looking for information regarding monitoring of user activities on the system.
I know the main instrument to achieve that is the security audit log (sm19/sm20) but that does not monitor the data user accesses to. I.E., they log the user launches transaction su01 (view/modify user data), for example, but not which user data he looks at.
Insufficient to get that are also STAD/STAT transactions too, maybe user trace st01 or st05 give that data?
Even in that case however a user trace would be very heavy on the performances and on the occupied disk space I think, so I am wondering, and asking all the experts, is if there are standard transactions to achieve the same, or maybe even external 3rd party programs.
    Thank you
    Marco Baiocco

    > Unfortunately that is not yet really clear even to me.
    I see...
    > I have been passed a generic request to investigate upon tracking mechanisms: the customer wants to be able to know which user have made logon and on which data they have worked (in read only and in modification).
    > I guess this could imply sensitive data but possibly also business data.
The question to be answered also is: Is it legal in the country to track all the user activity?
    > If there is a solution for sensitive data, at least (btw su01 was just an example)?
I'm not really aware of any but Security Audit.
I would ask the customer what exactly he wants and what he plans to do with the data. There are SAP products (GRC) to help auditing and securing the system but first there must be a clean requirement to find out, which way to go.

  • Tracking user activity

Is there any way to track what a user has done from the time he logs in and logs out from the peoplesoft system?

true... you can get some basic info from the HTTP weblogs.
The table PSACCESSLOG in tools 8.4x will tell you login and logout times.
There is a more simple wayWhat is more simple than enabling Performance Monitor? This is very simple to enable. A monotoring system can be a bog standard PC with 2Gb RAM and some cheap disks. Perform adds little load to your monitored system and is virtually realtime monitoring.
Also, our friend asked "Is there any way to track what a user has done"
The weblog will only tell you what components were visited. Perf Mon will tell you that plus what buttons/links were clicked, when it was saved, what search criteria was used for components and the duration of the transaction at each stage through the stack.
The weblog also needs a fair bit of working before you can analyse. Perfmon data is easily queried using simple select statements.
    Good luck!

  • Android user about to make the switch

Hello everyone, let me start off by saying I HATE Apple. Absolutely hate it. You may be asking, "if you hate it so much why switch?". Well the answer to that is simple, Android doesn't compare.
Now matter how many blogs, articles or videos you look up you will see that, on paper, Android is the winner. I bought into this and got myself a DROID, which is a great phone but not what I expected. When it comes to specifications and features the Android will always win. Why? Because essentially the Android system can do anything. Does that mean it will do it efficiently or effectively, no, and that's what I soon found out.
Here are my reasons for switching in an easy to follow list format.
    1. The iPhone is smooth, very smooth. Moving from app to app or something as simple as scrolling up and down a webpage really shows that Apple has put time and effort into making sure thing's were perfect, unlike Android.
The Android system (for now) is clunky and unusable, at least by my standards. It has it's good days and it's bad days. At it's worst I can't get a program to open for more than a few seconds before it crashes, sometimes crashing the whole phone with it. The thing is, Android is still fairly new to the smart phone game and it is getting better. I would say within 4-5 years, the Android OS will have the smoothness and grace that the iPhone currently has, but until then I guess I will have to "sleep with the enemy".
    2. The iTunes app store is where it's at. No more will I be fooled by the open marketplace.
The iTunes app store has something like three times as many apps available compared to the Android app store (I don't know for sure). That in itself is a winner, but it gets even better. The Android app store is FILLED duplicate apps and apps that simply don't work unless you have the correct phone model. Also the figure given by Android is the number of Apps available in all countries. So you can take the 100,000 Android apps (or whatever it is) and cut that in half if you live in the US. Then take that 50,000 and cut it in half again for duplicate/phone specific apps (at least). Now you are left with 25,000 apps that may or may not work, because no one is taking the time to test them and there is no screening process for apps.
2.5. The iTunes app store is filled with useful well written apps that I will actually use.
After looking over the apps on my friends phone and browsing the apps on iTunes I have come to the conclusion that the apps are just plain better on the iPhone.
    3. Stability. This is a big factor to me. Ask anyone with an Android phone how stable it is. Truthfully they should tell you it's not as stable as they would like. I never hear this from iPhone users, and when handling an iPhone it's apparent that the phone feels genuinely stable.
    4. The fourth and final reason is by far the biggest reason I am switching. Netflix. Yes I am buying an iPhone almost entirely because they now have a Netflix app.
When I first learned about this I was with a friend and her son driving in her car. Her son kept yelling about watching some childrens show. I had no idea what he was talking about so I just waited to see what my friend was going to do. The next thing I know, she pulls out her iPhone, and on the screen I see Netflix in white with a red background... She pulled it out and turned on a show for him to watch, then handed the phone to him. She did it like it was second nature to her like, "Duh I can watch Netflix on my iPhone!". I wanted to slap her for not telling me sooner...
As sad as this may sound, I am a movie and television fanatic. My life revolves around it. That might make me sound like a couch potato but I like to think of it as a hobby. Ever since I found Netflix a few years ago (specifically the instant watch) my life has been happier, haha.
Well that is about it. From an Apple hating Android user to an Apple hating iPhone user. At least for now, until Android get's there stuff together and makes a better working OS. Thanks for reading!
    Andy

Welcome Andy, I think. Too bad you hate Apple, but for whatever reason that may be (you didn't really say why), you should be very happy with the iPhone. I myself think Apple's a great company. It's an American success story and there aren't that many of those thriving today. Their products are innovative and as you've found with your Droid, the hype didn't match your expectations. The iPhone will match your expectations and then some.
So again, welcome to the forums. Maybe your iPhone experience will make you an Apple fan......

  • Tracking User Active

We need to justify use of Essbase by users and need a way to track: What Users are loging in, How often/How many times and what Apps/DBs they are loging into. Is there any way to track these Stats over say a month.

You may also want to check out the Log Analysis Database provided by Hyperion in the Software Library area of Essbase.com (http://www.essbase.com/main.asp?webpagekey=259).This is a database and load rules created by Hyperion that allow you to load / parse the Essbase logs directly into an Essbase database - providing full Essbase functionality (slice & dice) on your usage data!I used this (with some modifications / enhancements) at a number of clients to help them track Essbase usage. • Windows user wants to make the switch

since it has become very attractive for me to buy an mac i decided to give it a shot
the problem is that i don not know which one to choose (mb or mbp)
so i ask you kindly to give me some advice in the matter =)
i currently own a PC and use it mostly for internet, listening to music, watching movies, play Flight Simulator and stuff like that
if it weren't for the FS part i'd already have bought a macbook
so my question is mostly "can I play a flightsim (FS2004) on a macbook?"
the macbook i have in mind is as follows:
2,0-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (white)
    2GB RAM
    160GB HD
    please share your thoughts =)
    thanks

The amount of video memory isn't really an issue. I've seen lots of comments regarding the 64MB video in the MacBook. I'm not sure where this came from. The MacBook's video allocates 80MB to start with... and then it will take more if it needs it and depending on how much total system RAM you have. Regardless, the amount of memory isn't really the issue here, it's the Intel processor. Fortunately, the minimum requirements on Flight Simulator 2004 are very low. I don't expect the MacBook would have any trouble running it well. Just remember that newer versions of FS may not run equally as well. The MS Flight Simulators tend to push the processor more than the graphics as they are designed more for accurate flight simulation (the processing of which is done by the CPU) vs. really snazzy graphics...
The minimum system requirements for Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight are:
    • One of the following operating systems:
    • Microsoft Windows 98
    • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition
    • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)
    • Microsoft Windows 2000
    • Microsoft Windows XP
    • Processor – 450-megahertz (MHz) processor
    • Memory
    • 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM for Windows 2000 and for Windows XP.
    • 64 MB of RAM for Windows 98 and for Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
    • Hard Disk Space – 1.8 gigabytes (GB) of hard disk space.
    • Video – An 8 MB, 3-D video card.
    • Audio – An audio card with speakers or with headphones.
    • Modem – A modem that supports 56 kilobits per second (Kbps) or a modem that supports an Internet connection for multiplayer games.
    • Joystick - A joystick is optional.

  • APEX... USER ACTIVITY LOG

    Hi,
Is there a way I can track user activity... need to know who loged into the application and how many times and which pages were reviewed...
I believe this is something that already exists within APEX, as a new Bee need some directions...
    Thanks

    Hello 'user12863454',
This is an old thread but wasn't sure if you had got the answer for it. Just in case, if you haven't, here's something you could try.
    1) Login to APEX as an apex administrator
    2) On top right region --> Monitor Activity (you'll see this only if you are an administrator)
    3) This should take you bunch of existing links (apex built-in reports) that also shows what you need
    - Page views by User, by Application, etc
    Hope this helps.
Of course, all this information is stored in 'apex_activity_log' (built-in view). Remember, as the previous Forums user posted, this data is stored only for '4 weeks' and if you need historical information then you'd have to build a custom table and custom code to store the data.
    Regards,
    Taj

  • Function module to track User timing on a particular transaction

    hello,
Could anyone help me with the Function module or table which stores the timings of when "user accesses particular transaction"
My requirement is to create a User Activity Report displaying the user using the transaction with the timing
    i have check fm " SAPWL_WORKLOAD_GET_STATISTIC"
user id / transaction / server / date / time
    Thanks
    Renu Gusain

You can see transaction usage log for a particular user through transaction ST03 / ST03N
ST03 -> Click on "This Application server" button -> Click on "Single stat. records" button -> feed the user name field, start and end dates for analysis and press enter
If your SAP system has audit log activated you can use a more convenient way by using transaction SM20
See, how the logic of these transactions work as they log the user name along with transaction access times

  • Enable User activity bug

    Hello,
I´ve noticed a problem when using the "Enable User" activity in AD IP for Orchestrator 2012.
If you use "Get User" to find an user and then use the published data from that activity in "Enable User", it will sometimes fail.
The error you receive is "The user 'CN=XXXXXX etc.' was not found.", even thoug the user exists and "Get user" found the user.
The problem is when the users DN contains "/", and is used in "Enable User", resulting in an incorrect "User was not found"
Example of object name in AD that will trigger this "Linde Thomas, Company A/S".
Removing "/" from the name will solve it, but we would like to have matching AD object name and display name.
EDIT: And the same is true for "Disable User" activity.
    /Markus

Yes, the issue seems to still exist in verison 7.2 of the AD IP from Microsoft.

  • Tracking of user activity in the system

i'm currently on a project which i need to use BI to track the user  activity on the SAP System example like the time they log in or out, the transaction thay made etc. was juz wondering if anyone can give me some idea, solution or a head start in my project. thanks.

    Hi,
You could use the tables USR01.....thru USR07 etc.  These tables contain user information like name, login times etc.
eg .USR07 gives the tcode etc.
You could create a view to extract the appropriate fields. Then create a datasource using either the view or a function module. You'll have to decide your requirement. Then the rest in BI is pretty standard. The only point should be what data to extract from which tables and how...
    Assign points if useful
    Regards.

My daughter and I both have iPhone 4s'.   Last night she switched to ios7 and I am still using ios6.  I use the find my iPhone app to keep track of her and since the update it no longer works.  Her phone says its on but when I try and locate it from either my phone or laptop it shows it offline.  Any suggestions.  It's my only peace of mind! Thanks!

Does she have her own iCloud account?  You can have more than one iCloud account installed on a device, and some users install a secondary iCloud account which is common to others in the family to allow "Find My iPhone" to be used from one account while keeping separate iCloud contacts, mail, etc.
But with iOS 7 although you can still have multiple iCloud accounts installed, only the "primary" iCloud account supports "Find my iPhone".  So if her iCloud account is the primary, you can no longer track her from your iCloud account.  Is that what happened in your case?

  • Intelligent netflow for user activity tracking

    Hi All,
I am looking for a netflow system that can track a specific users activity on the network.
What I am looking for is a system that can take the netflow information and create a link from the IP information to a user or website/server so that you can search for a user and get a complete overview of the users network communication.
Anyone know of such a product?

Scrutinizer can do this.  This blog explains how we grab the log but, we can also launch a page for a specific IP address.
