Tracking a LSMW project

Hi All,
Mistakenly a project got deleted from repository by one of the users. So is there any way that we can retrieve that project. And can we track that which user has deleted that project. Is there any way in which we can find that which user had made changes to which object and what time, like log activity.
Any help will be greatly rewarded.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.
Whilst this won't help you now, this highlights the need to backup repositories in the development environment (have you checked to see if the repository can be restored from a DB backup?). Deleting from test and prod should be rare as access should be limited to a release team, although it should be possible to restore it from the release package stored somewhere safe...
Configuration management is a topic that should be considered at the start of development.

Problem in Transporting LSMW project

Hi,
We created LSMW project in development environment. Then we created Transport request through menue Extras -> Create Change Request
We successfully transported this request to test environment. When status is checked through STMS_IMPORT everything was fine. However when we tried to open project through LSMW, it didn't exist.
Can anyone suggest, what could have gone wrong ?

if your problem is not allready solved.
You can not transport LSMW-Project - I do not know what this icon is for.
You have to export the project and than import on the new system.
use these icons.

LSMW project Deleted by Mistake

Hi Gurus,
We have developed an LSMW for GL Uploads and got deleted by mistake . we are not able to trace or retrieve back.
Please suggest how to get the script back or atleast how to find who has deleted ( user Id).
PLease help .

Once worked on project where functional specialist deleted an entire LSMW project. We restored the development instance to get back. The other option was to rebuild it, as best we could, from our memory of what had been developed. I'd guess that your solution will be to redevelop what has been deleted.

LSMW project read only keep last content for wildcard

Hi Gurus,
when I use the wildcard option to run a LSMW project . The result is the system list all the data summaries about each file covered by the wildcards. I m used to find the data of all the covered files in the read-file after . When I started the report today only the data of the last file are listed in the file and the data out of the other files are deleted.
Anyody a suggestion how to make sure that all data of all files are listed in the read-file?

Hi Navin,
You can try setting appropriate permissions(read only) for the particular user under System Administration - > Permissions.
By this , even if the user is allowed to view the content, he shouldnt be able to modify it.

Function to bounce single tracks of a project automatically?

Hi guys
Is there any function i can use on logic 9, which bounces all the single tracks of a project automatically?
I have to bounce everything in Audio, cause I am about to send the stems to someone..
The project has 88 tracks so its quite a job to do it manually..
Ca anyone help me?

It worked, but it bounces the tracks without the volume settings..
Means that the tracks doesn't fit each other what volume concerns..
I think I will have to do it manually

Error when transport LSMW project

Error description:
When set up LSMW project in develop system, it is all right. But when transport to production system, its file path shows wrong. It looks the same as in Develop system. Now We delete the file path in P-System and re-create new file path the same as before, it can work. How could we solve this problem?

Hi,
LSMW is a transaction, which will let you mass upload almost any other transaction (FB01, FD01, AS91, etc.). You do it in the following way:
1. Enter into transaction LSMW (no menu path), possibly in a development / test system
2. First, define a project, subproject and object (relatively formal task).
3. On the horizontal menu, go to Goto -> Recordings. Click on "Create recording".
4. Enter the name and description of recording (freely definable).
5. I cannot simulate this now in my system, but SAP will ask you about transaction code (AS02) and will take you into the AS02 transaction. In this step, do the change manually. Make sure you "touch" (change / write something) in all fields which you want to update.
6. Once you are done, save the recording and return on the start page of LSMW. Click "Execute".
7. You will see a list of tasks. Do them one by one. They should be relatively simple (and I cannot help you with them). Important is step 3 (maintain source fields) - here you define the columns of your excel (csv) file in the particular order. In step 5 (field mapping and conversion rule), you assign file columns to SAP fields (note that you will see only those fields which you "touched" during recording). You need to go through all the steps. In the end, you get (and run) a batch session.
8. If you did this in a development system, transport the LSMW object (menu Extras - Export project, Extras - Import project). You have to do it via file, not via standard transports of configuration (it is perhaps more simple). 
Make sure you test it first in development or quality system!

How to transport ONLY 1 subproject(which has 1 object) of LSMW project?

I hv a LSMW project, with 9 subprojetcs, and each sub project has 1 object.
Now, I made a change in 1 object of 1 sub project........so, I need to TRANSPORT only this 1 object to TEST system!! suggect how to do it?

Yes,I was waiting for this confimartion.
Than you can move LSMW by generating "Generate change request" as your changes would be only in subproject_1 rest all subproject would remain unchanged,so while transporting whole request changes will be overwrite only for subproject_1.
Is there any issue in this way?
i'm open for Thomas's suggestion also if there any other way to do same.

Milestone tracking in Master project plan

Hi,
I have 6 projects(project 2010) and also need to have one master project. The master project should contain milestones of each of the 6 subprojects so that the director could view status of milestones only.
Could you please suggest how should i go about this or pass references please to any sites
I dont use EPM server but only standalone project professional 2010

Hi, I would suggest to use the "marked" column to flag the milestones to track in each projects. Then in the master plan, just create a filter to display only marked milestones. Note that if you need to show all milestones in the master plan, you can simply
use the out of the box "milestone" flag.

in MP01 there is a deletion indicator how to tick mark that for All MPN materials
how to create LSMW project
bcz LSMW project wil reads the data line wise bt MPN numbers varies for different materials
how to do this?
i cant do it manually bcz there sre around 15000 materials are there...
can anybody help me on this?

there is no standard program for deletion, through LSMW recording method possible to delete the materiasl.
goto LSMW tcode and create programt subproject and object goto step 1 select the second method that is RECORDING , here you need to record the MM06 tcode and process the recoding...
the tcode MM06 is set the deletion flag.
if you want delete alla metarial based on client level use MMDE tcode.

How to delete and rename LSMW projects...

On the LSMW transaction start screen. Goto->Administration. Here you can select your project etc. and rename/delete/copy.

How to transport LSMW project

Can LSMW project be transported? If the answer is yes, how ?

I think you cant download your LSMW progrms stetting or whole LSMW project .
its client independent so you can use across the all clients about other server i think you need to develop same project for another server as its not transportable for detail you can ask ur BASIS Consultant

You Can Copy LSMW Project in LSMW Transaction..
When you enter the LSMW Screen.
If you want to copy existing object into another name.
1)Then in first screen Enter the
Project
Subproject
Object
you want to copy.
2)Then click All Project Objects
3)Place the cursor on the (Subproject or Object) you want ot copy then press CTRL+F4.
4)Then copy that object into the Project, Subproject you want.
Note : The Project and Sub-poject must be initially created.
or LSMW==> Extras => Export==> Give a local file name as TXT==> Go to same LSMW system==> LSMW==> Extras => Import.

we have a lsmw.
project ,subobject and object names have been given and saved.

Now i want to change only the project name Ie finance to IndiaFi , but i am not able to find the option.please tell

go to administration option in the menu. You can then see all the projects.
You will be able to rename over here.
