Tracking & Audit in Workspace ES 8.2.1 questions

Hello,
Does any one know how long does the Tracking in the LC Workspace ES keep track of these running or complete processes? I remember in the older version 7.2, it was kept for a year (365 days) but could not find any where that mention about it in the ES version.
Also how long does LC keep track for the Audit tab for each process in the LC Workspace ES? We are still using LC 8.2.1 with SP3.
Thanks in advance,
Han Dao

Hello Jasmin,
Does that mean that the user can go back to their tracking in Workpsace to track for any old processes that they have completed no matter how long it is assuming that those processes have not purged from the database? E.g. processes that completed in Feb 2009 or older.
Thanks,
Han Dao

  • How to export from the tracking tab in Workspace

Within LiveCycle Workspce ES3, we really find the tracking feature useful. Specifically, the ability to select a running or completed task and seeing the entire audit trail from beginning the task all the way through to the completion of the task.
Is there currently a way with Workspace ES3 to export this audit trail to Excel or CSV or some other format? Or would we need to create a form with the data from this screen using Workbench and the “TaskResult” variable in the Assign User process?
If this is not possible, is there a way to set up access permissions where an auditor could access the history of a request even though they did not initiate the process?

Export functionality is not available. The TaskManager APIs are available here :  http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/ProgramLC/WS624e3cba99b79e12-12886cf31336a35142 b-8000.html , if that could help.
For permissions, you can check the Default LiveCycle roles : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/10.0/AdminHelp/WS92d06802c76abadb-5145d5d12905ce07e7 -7f54.html#WS92d06802c76abadb-7cb05b4612905cded5a-7ff6

If you have any SELECT FOR UPDATE in your code, these will produce locks, and it will not be released until the session which has locked the record has released it. This can be one reason why you have this behavior.
you need to trail your code if it's explicitly locking a row or more.

  • How do I "round trip" a multi track Audition project with After Effects?

I'm a complete Audition newb and haven't been able to find an answer for this yet. I would like to make an ajustment in my Audition project and then move over to After Effects to hear it paired with the video. Also my voice over track is not in the mix even though it has signal and when I click into the individual cuts I hear it just fine. The voice over is track 2.

I'd need to see a little bit more of the Track Panel for Track 2 to know for sure why it's not included in a mixdown, but the likely cause is the Track Output is not set to Master, but instead was set to a specific output channel on your device.
As for the round-tripping between Au and AE, this process does not appear to be as elegant in After Effects as it is in Premiere Pro.  You'll need to export the mixdown of your multitrack session, overwriting the file After Effects is referencing, the re-link it in AE.  This would be how I'd approach it:
    1. From Audition multitrack, File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown > Entire Session.  Create a file in your AE project folder called Audition Mixdown.wav (for example.  Best to use uncompressed WAV or AIFF formats at this stage.)
    2. Drop this file into your Composition.
    3. Make changes to the mix in Audition and either overwrite the original file, or save a new version.
    4. In After Effects, right-click the file in your Project panel and choose Replace Footage > File... selecting the updated file.
Since it appears AE loads assets fully into RAM, it doesn't monitor the file on disk for changes and so it doesn't auto-update the asset when it is overwritten by Audition.  In Premiere Pro, where the assets are streamed directly from disk, changes saved to the source asset update in the Premiere timeline almost immediately.  Perhaps this is a potential workflow optimization we can discuss with the After Effects team to improve this workflow.

  • Restoring Voice Track from Music and other elements - NOT KARAOKE Question

I have a 60 second mix of an audio track that combines voice, music and other natural sound elements...in otherwords, it's the end product.
I also have the Final Cut Pro timeline the project was created from, with all the raw elements in their proper spots EXCEPT the voice track. The voice track was deleted.
I need to try and restore JUST A CLEAN COPY OF THE VOICE-TRACK, without any of the elements mixed with it.
In there a way of using inversion (or some other features) and SOUNDTRACK PRO with the elements I have, to try and get a clean copy of JUST THE VOICE TRACK back?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No. inversion and voicekilling only works when you want to kill (actually dim) a mono signal within a stereo channel. e.g. you could kill a kickdrum in a heavy reverbed musicbed. In your case, you want to kill the rest, and leave the voice, the mono part, intact. That's impossible. I think you have to record again..

  • Aif with track markers converting to mp3 -mp4 or aac question

I think I know the answer but, I have aif file of audio made in Peak with track markers. If I convert the aif to an mp3 I can play it in I tunes or my Ipod but the track markers do not copy. Would I have to convert the mp3 to an mp4 or is it an aac file that Garageband makes? Come to think of it - it would just be like making a podcast as I would add the track markers in the chapter maker of GB3. I ask this to make sure there is no easier way since I originally made the aifs for cd's so I can select track to track with the markers there but since the original source time was 90 minutes I could only get 70 minutes on a cd but I can get the full 90 minutes in an mp3 / aac format. Is this the way to go?

The latest version of iTunes has moved the location of the settings for this. (If you have an older version the principle is the same, it's done from the Importing pane of Preferences.)
Open iTunes Preferences: select 'General'. On the line 'When you insert a CD' click 'Import Settings'.
In the pane which opens, set 'Import using' to 'MP3 encoder'. Set 'Setting' to 'Custom'; in the pane which opens you can choose the bitrate, stereo/mono, the quality etc.
Close the preferences panes. Get your recording into iTunes. Select it in the library; from the 'Advanced' menu choose 'Create MP3 version'. This will appear in the library and you can delete the AIFF version if required (make sure to send it to the Trash, which appears as an option, or it will remain in the library folder).

  • Audition MIDI tracks and VST scanning not working - what to do?

    Hi -
I'm running Audition 3.0.1 as an audio only application very successfully for some time on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (Vista Service Pack 1, all updates applied; 4GB RAM).
However, I'm now trying to use it as a MIDI multitrack sequencer and am encountering severe problems. I'd be grateful for any insights on how to solve them:
    1. On adding a MIDI track, Audition takes several minutes to add the track.
    2. On asking Audition to scan for VSTi's, it scans for some minutes, and then crashes. I own a few Arturia Virtual Synth plugins and have added one freeware VSTi dll to the Audition plugins VSTi folder.
I suspect the delay in adding MIDI tracks is related to an initial and lengthy scan of some kind also. I notice (before I rescan for my extra VSTi's) that Audition's three internal plugins are listed and enabled twice in the plugin scan list.
Overall, I'm very disappointed by Audition's MIDI implementation. It feels like a 'hack' that may never actually work. By comparison, as a pure Audio environment Audition is just incredible; and I would have expected the same robustness from its MIDI engine. Alas repeated attempts to get it to work have failed.
Apart from pointers on how to solve these issues (if possible) I'd be very grateful for any experienced insght into whether using Audition's MIDI multitrack capabilities with Plugins and external synths is realistic - am I expecting too much for this to ever work?
Thanks for your time and attention given to my issue.
    Kevin.

I suppose this answer is aimed at BOTH your posts re Audition MIDI implementation etc.
First Audition MIDI does work, albeit at a "basic" level.  Yes, it always does seem to take a long time for a MIDI track to open in Multitrack view.  Not sure why, but I suppose it's something I've come to expect as "the norm".
Second, the problem with AA crashing when scanning your VSTis is almost certainly caused by one or more of those VSTis being slightly "outside" the strict VSTi specification as laid down by Steinberg.  The same is true of certain VSTs as well.  It appears, and you will find other posts on here and on the AudioMasters forum confirming this, that AA expects full adherence to the letter of the specification.
To help resolve which of your VSTis is causing the crach, the only "tried and tested" method is to remove ALL the .dll files from their current location (cut and paste them to another folder) then return them to your designated VSTi folder, one at a time.  Ensure you allow AA to scan that folder afresh after each separate .dll is moved back; almost certainly at least one of them will cause AA to crash and you will know which one(s) are not compatible with AA.
In your other post you ask whether AA can work with external MIDI synths/modules, as well as VSTis, and again I would have to say that yes, it does.  However, again you have to be sure that each new hardware/software item you are adding to AA will actually work successfully and not cause AA to crash.
In my case I have a total of five external keyboards/synthesizer modules operating successfully with AA, together with a number of VSTis (including EMU Proteus VXR and 4Front Technologies TruePianos, to name but two that I use regularly).  As I think may be suggested by the above, I do have an external USB 4-in 4-out MIDI interface to allow me to use any or all of those external units together.
    HTH.

  • Hello, can you say to me which tool to use to correct a sound track saturated in audition.

    Hello,
Can you tell me which tool to use to correct a soundtrack saturated in audition.
    thank's

    Hi
With regard to your question, is this an over-recorded audio track that you wish to recover?
You don't give me much to go on, but try this
If it is a single over-modulated track, open it in Edit View, Select all, then
go into edit menu and select convert sample type and select mono or  stereo whichever applies,
then select the bit depth of 32, and make sure the sample rate is correct for the file, e.g. 44.1 etc
    then select OK
Depending on file size it may take a minute or two, but when done, Select the full file by double
clicking on the waveform and then go into effects "Amplitude and Compression" and select
normalise and select show in dB's, Then "Normalise to" and enter - 3dB this means minus
The ensure that the other options are ticked e.g Normalise all channels equally, if it is a stereo
file, and click and select "DC" bias adjust to 0.00%
This should reduce the level, check is sounds ok, and if you are satisfied with it convert the sample
type back to the bit depth and sample rate of the original recording.
If you are not happy with the result, if was very badly distorted, try a lower normalise value of -6dB
Hope this helps, if I haven't understood your problem please add more details
    Cheers

  • 'Start Button' in Livecycle Workspace Tracking

    Dear all,
I ‘m developing a process for user to submit their application form. I expected that applicators are able to check / view their submitted form in “Tracking” section in workspace. However, I found that when the form in “Tracking” is open, there appears a button “Start” button in bottom bar. By pressing this button, user is allowed to submitted their form again. Does anyone know the method to remove/hidden this button?

It is an Out of the Box feature of LC. Why do you want to remove that?

  • Track which user changed files - auditing - logging

I work at a school where our OSx 10.6 server is sharing out files to open directory users.  Some of the files require a collaborative effort from a group of students, so they are given read/write access to them.  We've recently had trouble with someone in the group intentionally sabotaging files (InDesign files to be exact).  I've found a way to track times/dates that files were changed, but not who changed them.  Is there a way to track/audit this on the server?  The kids do authenticate as themselves when accessing the SharePoint. If not, are their any good utilities that would provide this functionality that you could recommend?

Here is what you can find using flashback transaction query.
    SYS@10G>desc flashback_transaction_query
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    XID                                                RAW(8)
    START_SCN                                          NUMBER
    START_TIMESTAMP                                    DATE
    COMMIT_SCN                                         NUMBER
    COMMIT_TIMESTAMP                                   DATE
    LOGON_USER                                         VARCHAR2(30)
    UNDO_CHANGE#                                       NUMBER
    OPERATION                                          VARCHAR2(32)
    TABLE_NAME                                         VARCHAR2(256)
    TABLE_OWNER                                        VARCHAR2(32)
    ROW_ID                                             VARCHAR2(19)
UNDO_SQL                                           VARCHAR2(4000)You can see the LOGON_USER which helps if you are using different database accounts for your users. If you are using a single database user for your application you cannot see which specific application user made the change. You need auditing for that.

  • BPM Composer auditing

    Hi all,
Does anyone know if its possible to track/audit the BPM Composer, administrative actions of a "Project Administrator" ?
For example... I added one user (Bob) to BPMComposerAdmin application role using FMW control. The user=Bob
launches BPM composer tool and is presented with the Administration Tab for Role Mapping and creating projects and templates.
Is it possible to track Bob's actions when he adds a new Project administrator or SOA Designer? Or when he creates a new project, etc...?
At this point, I'm not interested in BPEL auditing or message auditing from a process model.
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

You need to put policies and credentials in a LDAP or DB.

  • [xmonad] uniquely addressing each ppVisible workspace

    Hi everyone.
I'm having some troubles getting a certain piece of my xmonad configuration working. My Haskell skills are not up to par just yet; therefore reading documentation does not necessarily translate to the capability of solving the problem at hand.
I want to be able to set up exactly what the OP from this thread way back in 2010 wanted - to have different colours indicating the physical location of each visible workspace on a three monitor set-up.
At the moment, my xmonad.hs file as the following lines:
    ppCurrent = dzenColor fg_red background . pad
    , ppVisible = dzenColor fg_blue background . pad
which obviously highlight my active workspace red and two visible (but inactive) workspaces blue. I'd prefer if I could set each visible workspace a different colour (say one green, one blue) to indicate what physical monitor each resides on, so I don't end up addressing the wrong one when not paying attention.
The solution in the above thread doesn't solve the issue, but instead uses getSortByXineramaRule to force the current and visible workspaces to the left, such that a configuration like this could occur [4 1 8] 2 3 5 6 7 9. I don't particularly like this solution because I prefer to name my workspaces (mail web shell etc.), and swapping them in this fashion will render associations to the mod+1..9 sequence difficult.
I've therefore dug a little deeper into the issue, but as I said, my understanding of Haskell is lacking.
The DynamicLog hook is where ppVisible resides, the docs say its constuctor needs to know a Workspaceid:
    ppVisible :: WorkspaceId -> String
To me this says ppVisible is called more than once on a three monitor system, which means I should be able to throw different colours at each call. Am I right about this assumption?
From the docs, StackSet "Xinerama in X11 lets us view multiple virtual workspaces simultaneously ... [therefore tracking] which virtual workspaces are associated (viewed) on which physical screens [is required, and StackSet] keeps separate lists of visible but non-focused workspaces." Which tells me xmonad keeps track of this location information and I should be able to address it in a round about way even if it's not through ppVisible?
Have any of you managed to set this up before? Or if you have better Haskell/xmonad experience than I; can you see a way I can colour each visible workspace separately?

    Hi everyone...
I have some problems with - I think - conky. (My window manager is xmonad. The conky output is piped to dzen2. xmonad 0.7.1, dzen svn, conky svn (conky 1 repo))
I'll try to explain my problem with screenshots with conky running stand alone...
Everything works fine as long as I see the conky desktop output: screenshot 1
When I move my terminal above the conky desktop output, or when I just use one or more tiled (not floated) terminal(/other windows, e.g. firefox), conky doesn't update anymore: screenshot 2
Now, when I change to another desktop on which you can see the conky desktop output again (or when I resize a floated window), conky updates again (look at the seconds)... screenshot 3
EDIT: #conky (freenode): "i guess your window manager prevents conky from accessing the root window, so it locks up somewhere"
    Here are my config files:
    ~/.xinitrc
    ~/.conkytoprc
    ~/.conkybottomrc
I hope anyone can help me... I hope that dzen-conky-statusbar will soon print me updated times and songtitles. =(

  • How to import a track from DTR to DC perspective in Netweaver 7(Sp 18)

    Hi all,
the DC's that i had created are reflected in DTR but the same DC's are not gettin reflected in DC perspective.
Is there any way by which i can directly get those DC's back into DC perspective and push them into the track again by creating a new activity for them,

    Dear Sonia,
    1) When you Check-In your activities they settle into the Inactive compartment of your Track in DEV workspace inside DTR.
    2) When you Activate your activities they settle into the Active compartment of your Track in DEV workspace inside DTR.
    3) When you Release your activities and import them into Consolidation, they settle into the Inactive and then Active compartment of your Track in CONS workspace inside DTR.
Now, if you are saying that your DCs are very well reflected in DTR.
Then, please import the track once again into you developer studio. And inside Development Configurations perspective, in the Inactive Tab you must see all the DCs that are present in DTR.
Let us know about your findings.
    Regards,
    Shreyas Pandya

  • Can one avoid names to be listed in packaged applications (issue tracker, for example)?

I've installed the packaged app "Issue tracker" in a workspace, but now have a problem with German's law (and maybe others), which does not allow people to make reports that explicitely mention names of employees, except if you are their manager.
So the issue tracker's reports, which can be used by anybody and display assignees' names, are not allowed by German's law !
I guess that all packaged apps have the same users control mechanism. If so, this issue is not specific to the issue tracker. Is that right?
To make the issue tracker compliant with German's law, one should be able to hide names or ideally to make them only visible by the employee's management.
    Hide name would imply:
    - Remove the updaters' name in the projects/issues
    - Remove assignees' name in the projects/issues/reports
I guess this could be done via a plugin "display names" in the "build options".
Make names only visible to managers would imply:
    - Assign a manager to each user
    - Adapt the display depending on the identity of the user
Does this make sense? If so, I guess I should add an entry in Oracle Application Express Feature Requests, right?
    TIA for your feedback,
    Stefane
