Tracking error causes change to next song???

Is there a way to get iTunes and my iPod Classic to continue playing through a tracking error?
I have several songs that I ripped from CD however there are some small tracking errors that play fine on other players but cause iTunes, and my iPod to skip to the next track as if the song were over.
Is there any way to stop this from happening?

That did work on future rips...the tracking errors are so minor I was hoping not to have to re-rip a bunch of music.
On another note...on a whim I restored my iPod last night and let it resync all the music. iTunes still exhibits the problem, but my iPod will now play through the tracking error.

    When playing songs in iTunes playlist, How do you keep the next song from jumping to next song? I am working on song list updating other tracks info and then the next song starts and I lose my spot in song list?

    I had a similar problem: I wanted to synch my playlist to my iphone. I like to have my playlist sorted by genre. But under each genre, albums are not sorted by the track numbers. This is a problem, especially when I am listening to club mixes when the DJ smoothly transitions from 1 track sequentially to the next one. Under the properties of each audio file, the Track Numbers and Disc Numbers are already there.
    My perfect solution was to turn On Sorting - Sort Album under View>Show View Options. Then, select all the songs in that album (Shift click, Cmd click, etc) , and Edit multiple item information (Cmd I). You will see Info-Video-Sorting-Options buttons. Click on Sorting. Then, under Sort Album, Enter the name of the album. Then OK.
    You should now have the playlist sorted by Genre, then each album individually sorted by track numbers. On your playlist you should see, if you scroll right, the column added called "Sort Album".
    Hope this helps.

  • ITunes 11 (loop 1 song) not possible to change to next song

    Hey guys, i noticed a bug in iTunes 11.
    Can anyone confirm it?
    When i choose to repeat 1 song, and after that press next song button in iTunes or on keyboard, it simply starts same song from beginning and not next as it should be.

    It took me a while, but I finally came up with a solution for this! It's not a perfect one for everybody (since you have to make hotkeys) but it works great if you use something like Alfred or Quicksilver to control iTunes already.
    Basically, I wrote an AppleScript that detects if Repeat One is on. If it is, then the script very quickly disables it, skips to the next track, and turns it back on. Skipping then works just like it did with iTunes 10 and iDevices.
    I put the scripts up for download here: iTunes 11: Restore track skipping with Repeat One turned on (OSX)
    Hope this helps some people.

  • My ipod nano 7th gen. will not advance to the next song, it will keep playing the current song until manuaaly changed. All updates are current.

    My ipod nano 7th gen. will not advance to the next song, it will keep playing the current song until manually changed. All updates are current.

    I had this issue with my 6th generation nano.  It was driving me nuts, until I realized that somehow locked the repeat button on. Selecting one song rather than a selection will cause whatever song you have selected to play over and over and over and over..

  • ITunes doesn't play the next song, it just stops after one track.

    I have iTunes 11.0.1. When I play a song in my playlist, I expect the next song to start as the first one ends, but iTunes stops and doesn't play the next song. I'm missing some sort of setting but what?
    It's not a smart playlist, just a playlist of favorite music I've built up over the years.
    Mountain Lion.

    Have the tracks become unchecked? iTunes will skip unchecked tracks, so if they're all unchecked, iTunes will play one and then stop. If this is indeed the case, re-checkmark the tracks - Command-click will select or unselect them all - and you should then have continuous playback.
    Hope this helps.

  • My ipod nano 6 will only play one or two songs then I have to force the next song to play. It will start several songs before settling on one. This just started and I havent changed anything. How to I make it go back to playing songs continuously?

    Then back it up and do a restore.  If that does not work and if you are still under warranty, call Apple tech support or take the iPod to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

  • Pressing "Pause" twice causes my Shuffle to move to the next song.

    When I am listening to a specific song on my iPod Shuffle, (Thank You For The Venom-My Chemical Romance) which I purchased today via the iTunes Music Store, I press "Pause" and it pauses correctly but when I try to resume play, it switches to the next song in the queue. None of my other songs have this problem, just this one that I purchased today. Also, when I try to press and hold Rewind/Fast Foward, instead of skipping ahead within the song, it automatically Fast Fowards to the next track without opportunity for any movement within the song. Thanks in advance for your help and sorry for my ignorance.

    It depends on the iPod shuffle model...  Assuming your shuffle is the 4th gen (or 3rd gen) model, do you use automatic syncing or the manual method (drag and drop song on iPod in iTunes)?

    Hi Sarah,
    It sounds like the songs have either not yet synced over to the iPhone, or something went wrong when attempting to sync to the iPhone. My recommendation is to uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox.
    Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.
    If the above does not resolve your issue, see the following articles:

    Hello there, RufusChloe.
    The following iPod Troubleshooting Assistant should help with troubleshooting your issue:

  • Is there a way to change the volume of a track in the middle of a song on iPhone?

    I am writing some songs, but I don't know if I can change the volume of certain tracks during certain parts of the song. I know you can change them for the WHOLE THING, but I want to drop down the volume of the background instruments, so I can start the solos much better.

    Hi this is said to be working but I haven't tested it:
    if (sequencer instanceof Synthesizer)
         Synthesizer synthesizer = (Synthesizer)sequencer;
         MidiChannel[] channels = synthesizer.getChannels();
         // gain is a value between 0 and 1.
         for (int i=0; i<channels.length; i++)
              channels.controlChange(7, (int)(gain * 127.0));

  • Skips to the next song while in the middle of a track (in Shuffle mode)

    On some tracks, my iPod suddenly skips to the next track when it is in shuffle songs mode. This seems to happen randomly in the middle (or close to the beginning...e.g. 30 seconds in) of tracks, and I can't figure out why it isn't playing the whole track. Suggestions?

    I imagine sbonewicz looked at a couple of the More Like This threads listed in the panel on the right and found a solution there, such as this one...
    Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
    While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked.
    If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • TS1362 some songs quit in the middle of the track even though there is time showing. It goes right to the next song.

    Songs quit in the middle of the track even though there is time showing. It goes right to the next song. Can I fix this or recover the full song?

    I just found out how to solve the problem today
    Go to the original location of the song. Meaning, if the song file is on the desktop then go there and individually click the songs and they'll play on Itunes perfectly fine
    I'm not sure why this happened but I hope that works for you!
