Tracking hits

Please forgive my lack of knowledge as I learn some new tricks.
I recently and successfully changed my .me website to a personal domain name. When I use a stat counter website to view daily hits, the count seems about right compared to before the switch. But, when I try to see where the referring url is from, every one has my .me address as the referring url. Obviously, this doesn't help me understand from where my traffic is coming.
Is there a way to resolve this problem?
Thanks. Bill

What stat counter are you using and what page(s) are they located on? Are you using your domain name as the URL for the sta tcounter or the actual full URL to the page. I would use the full URL to the page. I have StatCounter counters on the first page of several of my sites and get all the detailed info about the visitor. Since I have domain name masking only the first page is needed.

  • Tracking Hits to a particular image

    Hi,
    My company sends out marketing emails to mass group. We would like to track the number of people who actually opened the emails. For that, I was thinking that if we include a clear gif in email and then whenever anyone would open the email, Portal can track a hit to that image as the image is stored in the content area and any request to an item in the portal's content area should be logged in the activity log. But this doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone please suggest me what should I do? Is there any other method for tracking the number of opened emails?
    Thanks in advance for all your help.
    Regards,
    Jatinder

    I am writing this assuming that you have a IMAGE item, and a URL assciated with the item.
    1. Create a Procedure with item_id as IN parameter,(ex.. REDIRECT_PROC(item_id in NUMBER);)
    2. in REDIRECT_PROC, Select the URL from Portal30.wwvThings table for item_id.
    3. Use owa.util package and redirect to the selected URL.
    4. Before redirection, Insert a record into your metrics table.(You create one table)
    5. while emailing the Image, just send the ProcedureURL with image..
    (ex..http://yourservername:port/pls/your_DAD/REDIRECT_PROC?item_id=11111)
    so when Users click on the image from mail, they will come to this procedure, get the metrics, and then redirected to correspondding URL...
    hope it will help..
    thanks

  • How do you track hits on hit counter in iWeb?

    I have been creating a personal poetry website on iWeb and I am fairly new to Mac in general.  I found the Hit Counter button and added it to every page on my website.  My question is how do I see how many hits i have?  The hit counter does not show up on my published site.
    http://jennifercramer.site90.com/Jens_Site./Home.html

    The hit counter only appears when you publish to MobileMe.
    Search the iWeb Help for ftp to learn what else is not supported.
    There are lots of alternative counters you can use.

  • Tracking captivate lesson hits with google analytics

    Has anyone tried using Google Analytics to track hits to Captivate-generated lessons?
    Thanks.

    Without hijacking the thread...
    Will the CP5 PHP program provided also allow the trackiing of assessment scores to the webserver?

  • Hit Counter on iWeb

    Is there any way to track hits on my site without putting that ugly hit counter on my page? - A way that only I can see and no one else?

    There are many ways to hide .mac hit counter, see this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1423294&tstart=25
    and here is javascript way, just add the following to your page using HTML Snippet:
    <script type='text/javascript'>
        parent.document.getElementById('CounterDiv').style.visibility = 'hidden';
    </script>

  • Tracking movement/placement of game pieces

    I would like to write a board game like backgammon (for the purpose of analyzing played games). I want to be able to read in a "game" (i.e. match rolls/movements/doubles). Then I want to be able to step through the game move by move, showing the moves visually.
    I'm fairly new to java. I have written some Swing programs to read a file & display the contents in a JTable. But this has all been with pre-defined Java components.
    I'm sure I will need to do custom drawing for a game like backgammon. I'm guessing that I will need to keep track of the following:
    * all 24 available positions
    * all 15 pieces for each player
    * doubling cube
    Is there an approach I should take to drawing pieces on the board? The placement is somewhat dynamic, in that the target space may already have pieces on which the new piece must be properly placed/drawn. Should they be written as derived JComponent's? Do I simply need to generate gif images for every possible stack that could be place on a position (i.e. 1-15 pieces)?
    Eventually, I would like to be able to move pieces manually. What is the standard way to track hit points within a component? In this case, it would be one of the 24 positions on the board & doubling cube.
    I would like to mimic the interface that NetGammon uses. Can anyone offer some insight (and code snipets) to get me started?
    Thanx,
    - Nick

    i would have each position of the board be a memeber of a class extending List which draws the images it contains and nothing if it is empty.
    or maybe i'd do something else entirely...

  • Can't delete metadata for multiple tracks in iTunes 12

    Hi. I have about 20 tracks in iTunes and I want to delete the metadata on all of them at once, something I've done a thousand times on prior versions of iTunes. I select the tracks, hit Apple-I, and make global changes, i.e. deleting all the track numbers or clearing out the composer box, etc. But now, it's not happening. I click into the box, hit Delete, the grey dash will disappear, but when I go to another box, the dash returns and when I leave the Info dialog, the boxes aren't empty.
    However, when I do the same thing to the tracks individually, it works.
    Is there an extra step that I'm missing, one that's new to iTunes 12?
    Thx!

    Same issue.  The error says not enough space for me -- go to settings to alter. Takes me to storage -- and the video is not listed as using storage!
    I have 8 episodes stuck there -- some even play -- but none will swipe to delete.  To test I did swipe to delete a video podcast -- no problem.  Just my TV Shows seem to be permanent fixtures.
    Connected to the computer to see what ITunes showed as installed TV Shows on the device -- nothing there...!!!

  • Notes change when I copy a track region.

    I can't seem to copy track segments without Garageband changing the notes. This sort of defeats the whole purpose of copying segments if I have to go in and either re-record the segment, or manually move the notes. But even THEN the notes are still not right. They are FLAT for shitsake. AAaaarrrgh!! *** is going on?
    Has anyone experienced the same difficulties using the new Garageband on OS 10.10.1? Is there a workaround, fix, or am I accidentally tweaking notes while copying segments? I dunno. My copy method is to select the track, hit OPTION and drag the copy to the preferred location. The track segment copies. But it's like a deformed mutant clone.

    Thanks, Data Stream Studio, but I didn't.
    Actually, what I did is analyzing the chords in the Global Track. Might that be the issue?

  • Audio Tracks With Partial Clips

    The current project I am doing runs 104 minutes, with one standard audio track (A1). The first and last 20 minutes need an audio commentary, and the last 10 minutes need a third audio track (it's an alternate mix, basically).
    Rather than creating three separate timelines (obviously, for space reasons -- not to mention efficiency), I have the main audio program on A1, as well as partial clips in A2 (commentary) and A3 (additional audio). However, since A2 and A3 only apply to part of the program, I am using Chapter Playlists (YAY for these!). As a result, A2 and A3 are audio tracks that have clips in parts, but a whole bunch of blank space in the middle.
    I wasn't sure if this would work or not, but it seems to, with one small problem -- I just noticed that when listening to ANY of the audio tracks, when a point in the timeline is reached where one of the other audio tracks hits a clip's in point, the audio skips. It's just one small skip, but it's an annoying little imperfection.
    For example, if A3 is blank until its clip begins at 95 minutes in the timeline, and I am listening to A1 (main program), then when I reach the 95 minute mark the audio skips. This also concerns me because it makes me wonder, are there any other problems that may arise when playing this DVD in a variety of players. Does anyone know if I might run into other problems?
    I thought that by only putting the audio clip and not filling the rest with silence, I would save space on the disc. (My understanding is that a full audio track - even with silence - would take more space because it's encoded at a constant bitrate).
    Am I going about this the wrong way by putting on the partial clips? Or should I just put on full clips that simply have silence in the unused portions -- and more importantly, if I were to do that, would it take up more space?
    Thanks!

    Did you hear the audio skips on a burned R or RW disc, or just in Encore's preview?
    I would expect that "silence" would take up space on the disc. You could test for yourself to see just how much space by creating a test timeline with appropriate silence-d audio tracks, forcing a manual transcode of the audio assets and then taking a peek at the Project and Timeline panels to see how much space they take up.

  • Track should have been matched, but it's using my uploaded version instead?

    The album is '**** Freezes Over' by Eagles - the album is available for purchase in the ITMS.
    Unbeknownst to me, my ripped copy of the album has a skipping issue on the last track - it's a song I hate (Desperado) so I usually bail out when that track hits. Today, I happened to listen to it via iTunes Match, and it's pretty unlistenable due to the skipping. I thought 'Aha! Apple has a screwed up track!'
    I went back to the source, and heard the skipping there as well. This begs the question: why am I not being served Apple's version of the track via Match? All my tags are correct - are they relying more on the 'soundprint' of the file to match rathere than the tags? Since my track is a different time than the album track, Match thinks it's a different version of the song for which it has no match, so it uploaded my version?

    This topic has been covered in-depth on this forum.
    Since the iTunes Match process uses the waveform of the tracks to do its matching, because your track has a skip in it the waveform is different enough that it won't match.

  • How do you change audio track of iMovie?

    I looked in Help and didn't find an answer to changing out my audio track. Anyone?

    The track number refers to the number it is on the original album that you got it from. You can change it in the playlist you have, but it's going to keep that change you made even for the original cd. You could always burn it (will be on multiple cds), name the cd, and then re-import it. If you want to change the track number, that's probably the easiest way. Or you can go track by track in your playlist and change it, and deal with it being changed with the original cd. There's no other way besides clicking on the first track, right click to "get info" and go through the "info" tab and change them manually, as far as I know. You don't have to constantly click get info, either. After you do the first track, hit next and it will go to the next song.

  • Hits counter issue

    I just set a simple counter to track hits on multiple pages (4 to be exact) using a fairly simple Coldfusion code. Now, maybe I am crazy, but my issue occurs when (this is surely questionable) the adsense code is present on the page!? Simply put, it acts weird all the time, adding +2 or +3 instead of +1?
    here is the code:
    <cfparam name="URL.ID" default="1">
        <cfquery name="updateHits" datasource="mydatasource">
              UPDATE table
              SET TOTALHITS = TOTALHITS + 1
              WHERE ID = <cfqueryparam value="#URL.ID#" cfsqltype="cf_sql_clob" maxlength="75">
          </cfquery>
    what seems to be the problem? should I use cffunction perhaps, on the page or in cfc?
    I am running CF MX7.

    Various distinct pages could send the same url.id to the server, for example,
    page1.cfm?id=1
    page2.cfm?id=1
    page3.cfm?id=1
    and so on. Hence, it isn't yet clear to me why you use url.id to count page hits.
    Owain has already hinted at a more reasonable solution. The page count is performed in onRequestStart in Application.cfc.
    Create a table, say pageHit, with columns id(autoincrement int), pathFromRoot(varchar), hits(int). You could, for example, already insert all the possicle CFM pages of your site into  the pageHit table, giving each an initial hits count of 0.
    Here is an example to illustrate. My sample site has just 2 CFM pages. The paths are relative to the webroot.
    pageHit (database table)
    id = 1
    pathFromRoot = /testDir/page1.cfm
    hits = 0
    id = 2
    pathFromRoot = /testDir/page2.cfm
    hits = 0
    The calculation for the page hits is:
    <cffunction name="onRequestStart">
    <cfargument name = "targetPage" type="String" required="true">
        <cfset var detectPage = queryNew("","")>
        <cfset var countPage = queryNew("","")>
       <!--- identify current page --->
        <cfquery name="detectPage" datasource="my_dsn">
            select id
            from pageHit
            where path = '#arguments.targetPage#'
        </cfquery>
       <!--- update number of hits --->
        <cfif detectPage.recordcount GT 0>
            <cfquery name="countPage" datasource="my_dsn">
                update pageHit
                set hits = hits + 1
                where id = #detectPage.id#
            </cfquery>
        </cfif>
    </cffunction>

  • Setting button to play audio track

    Hi,
    I have not been able to find a solution to this problem, I thought someone might know of the correct way to go about it.
    I have created a menu in DVD studio pro which lists 19 different options (in this case they are 19 different pieces of music). What I want is for the user to select a track, hit play, and have the track play whilst the menu stays onscreen. Is this possible?
    Thanks
    Jack

    But, every DVD needs to have at least one video track to play properly. Why not add the menu image to a track which has the audio set in it. From your normal menu, set the buttons to target a marker at the start of each different audio section and set an end jump on the marker to go back to the menu. You could set the menu call to a small script which checks SPRM7 and returns to the menu on the appropriate button as well.
    That way a user can see the screen and listen to the audio and have a DVD with a track...

  • Play Count for Duplicate tracks

    It will be nice if we can have an option for every track on enabling which if any duplicate of it is played, the 'Play count' of all duplicates is increased by 1..
    Otherwise, the minor trouble is .. I love a song (say Here Comes the Sun) and have listened to it hundreds of times and recently got hold of a better Bit Rate version of it. Obviously, I will like to listen to the better bit rate track..but this will start me from 0 play count. This may be a slight bother if one is too fussy about smart playlists...
    Or is there a way out..?

    Yep, easy. Go to Doug's Apple Scripts for iTunes...
    http://dougscripts.com/itunes/index.php
    and there you will find a few for adjusting playcounts. I have a couple I use that work great. The main one I use you pick the track, hit the script, type in the number of counts you want to increase or decrease the track and then hit the PLUS or the MINUS button and it adjusts the track,
    So you find Here Comes The Sun in a higher bit rate. You old one say a play count of 27. Select the new track, hit the script, type 27, hit PLUS now the new track says 27. Delete the old track. Tah dah!

  • Having trouble setting up the volume on my ipod...

    when i put on the sound check on on my pod it really knocks the volume way down, and i find if i boost the volume to my music tracks in my itunes settings {even with sound check off} that a certain percentage of my volume control {roughly the last ten percent} on the slider doesn't work... its as if itunes is trying to keep all my music at the same volume even with sound check switched off, even after i have manually boosted the volume on my music... is it me? is there a way round this? ideally i just want to boost the volume on my music and have it all play out at roughly the same volume, but it doesn't quite seem to work... any help would be much appreciated???

    if i boost the volume to my music tracks in my itunes settings {even with sound check off} that a certain percentage of my volume control {roughly the last ten percent} on the slider doesn't work..
    Correct, using that method all you do is make it so that the maximum volume on the iPod is reached before the volume bar is at full.
    For example, if you increase a track's volume in iTunes by +100% then when it's on the iPod you will find that that track hits it's maximum volume level at about half volume, and turning the iPod up to full volume will not increase the volume any higher after this point. A track which has not had it's volume altered in iTunes will reach exactly the same sound level, although of course you will need to turn the volume level of the iPod to full in this instance.
    All iPods manufactured for the European market have a volume cap applied to them. It's a European directive from those nice people in Brussels who make sure we can't damage our delicate little ears.
    If you have an older iPod you can use goPod to remove the cap on iPods that have this volume limitation. That should make your iPod maximum volume louder.
    The soundcheck option will lower the volume on your iPod somewhat in order to level out the volume of different songs. There are 3rd party programs that do this more effectively (at least in my opinion).
    For Windows there is mp3/aacGain.
