my ipone 4s lost yeaterday. few question:
1) can i activate "lost mode" ?
2) will tracking a problem in lost mode ?
family pictures in iphone n i dun want to loose it

Either force the phone into recovery mode, as described here, & restore it:

Or, login to iCloud.com, locate the phone, then erase it.

Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud).
If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, then select the device that’s in Lost Mode.
Click Lost Mode, then change the information or click Stop Lost Mode.

Someone keeps putting my iPhone into lost mode in my other cloud account, and I keep getting out. How do I switch the cloud account to this one, so they won't be able to do it again

Well, for the last week someones been putting my iPhone constantly in lost mode using my apple account and I keep getting out because I know my own password. I want to change the password but two other people I know use it, (who definetly wouldn't do this), someone else probably got ahold of the account and is spamming the phones into lost mode. I'm not in lost mode currently by the way. This repetition is really a hassle for me because I'm not always connected to the internet to get out of the lost mode, a few days ago, I went on a 12 hour flight and both my apple devices were probably put into the lost mode and I wasn't able to use my iPhone or iPad to do work and entertainment purposes. I was literally sitting there for 12 hours! So now that you sat through my problem, which I thank you for greatly, how do I switch apple/cloud accounts on my devices so this won't happen again? I hope you can give my solution, if there is one out there, and thank you in advance for atleast trying to solve my problem.

The only way this can happen is with access to your id and password

I believe that the fact that you were able to put the phone into Lost Mode indicates that you did have Find My iPhone setup (turned on). IPhone in lost mode, if a person guesses the 4 digit passcode can they see/send messages and contacts etc?

I have lost my iPhone. Someone has found it. I got an email message when they turned it on and called it immediately. Unfortunately they turned it off, after the first call and now it goes straight to answerphone. It has been in lost mode for three days. My question is simple, if the person guesses the four digit passcode, can they send/see text messages and emails, can they see contacts etc. Do they need my apple id and password to access and use the phone or simply the four digit code?

Yes, i appreciate that. I do hope they don't, however the passcode is VERY simple... If they guess or if it was actually taken by someone that knows me or saw me enter the code, then can they use the phone normally once it's entered, will i get an email or will the phone come out of lostmode on the app? Hi all, so I have spent almost two days on the phone to apple now and am getting nowhere. I dropped my iphone 5 in water (accidental) - dried it all out and it turned on just fine and connected to wifi. Literally everything except the mobile network works. I can use apps, mail even imessage.
Anyway got a new phone and so I wanted to sell on my old one so I tried to erase all the content. it wouldn't let me do this because it was linked to find my iphone. So I called apple, they talked me through how to remove it from find my iphone but in the process the phone is now showing the following message on the screen 'This phone has been lost. Please call'
Now the phone isn't lost - its very much here on my desk and when I log in to icloud I cannot see it to say it is found because they removed it from find my iphone!
Also when I scroll on the 'lost' phone it asks for my language, my country, it connects to wifi and then it spends 5 minutes trying to activate before it tells me 'we can't activate this I phone because the apple server is temporarily unavailable' and it wont let me activate it through iTunes either.
Can anyone help?

HI there. My iPhone 5 was stolen a couple of weeks ago and it finally got put into Lost mode today. The problem is that it doesn't show the last known location of the phone! I thought it had to since it had to connect to get online to get put in Lost mode and to show location? Any help?

It all depends on the situation, but if it entered into Lost Mode for only a brief moment, then your iPhone may have gone offline after that and will not show a location. The phone would still need to be connected to either a cellular network or Wi-Fi network to be tracked.

lost mode don't depend of the sim card. If you take your Iphone on Lost mode... anybody can use it with the original card sim or with an other one.
Did you try to localise it ?
But hope that thief don't make a restore of the Iphone... Call your Mobile Operator to try to block the IMEI Number.

Can I keep track of the location of my lost iPhone using the lost mode in Find My iPhone even after the sim is removed?

My iPhone 5 is stolen, but luckily I had Find My iPhone enabled on iOS 7. The device is currently online(cellular is on) but location services are off. Is there any way to track its location.
Furthermore, if I turn on the lost mode and the thief turns off cellular data, would I be able to keep track its location?

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.
If it was never registered to your account then it won't appear on your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
The only other ways to find it that I know of (apart from on the actual device) are via the packaging, the backup on a computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

I lost my iphone 4 with ios6 and I used the tracker to see its location but after a while it went dead. Now there was 90% battery at the time of it going missing and for about 15mins I could see it moving, but then it went dead. I managed to get it into Lost Mode but I did not select the erase data option. Now I am worried that someone might be able to get at the data. I did not use a familiar passcode to lock my phone but are there tools out there that people can use to bypass the code I used. I am pretty confident I will not get this phone back but I want the data erased however I notice that the option says that it will only erase if it connects to the internet, which my phone is not doing at the moment.

well i've basically already done all of those steps, i connect the iphone, itunes says it must be restored to work properly, then in the middle of a restore is tops and a window pops up that says "an unknown error has occurred (6)" and thats where i'm stuck. also the screen thats on the iphone is the end of the USB cable that hooks into the phone with an arrow pointing to an itunes icon.

Apple doesn't track or flag lost or stolen products, but you can use My Support Profile (supportprofile.apple.com) to find a list of serial numbers for products that you've purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

If your phone is offline, there is no way to track it. Report the loss to trhe police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
