Tracking links

Portal Experts,
We are evaluating the Oracle Portal for our web site. The current Web master of a site which is composed of mostly static pages wants to know how the Portal tracks links.
If a page is deleted to which a different page in the portal has a link, is there any warning that the page has links to it? Is there any way to track broken links -- links to pages/items/portlets which do not exist?
Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

hi,
in portal you have a seperate item type called page link. if you remove the page that you link to, the link of this item is removed automatically. this avoids that anything is ever broken.
links to portlets are not possible. you can only link to pages that contain portlets.
if you really need to link to items i suggest using the autoquery search portlet in order to display these items. this automatically detects if an item is removed from a page and does not display it next time the search portlet is rendrered.
regards,
christian

  • Tracking links defined in scripting

Dreamweaver does a great job of tracking pages and files when
the standard href tag is used, but it doesn't seem to be able to
track links that are defined through scripts. Or more accurately,
links which don't use the href tag. For instance I have some ASP
pages using "response.redirect" that go to other pages on the site.
However Dreamweaver does not track these kinds of links, so if I
moved the linked page I must manually update the ASP script. Is
there any way to fix this? Maybe through an extension?

  • Anyone have their iPhone 5 pre-order shipping confirmation and working tracking link yet?

For anyone pre-ordering an iPhone 5, please post when you have a UPS/Fedex shipping tracking link that actually works and indicates that your iPhone 5 is in transit and whether or not it is scheduled to be delivered on Friday the 21st to coincide with when the iPhone 5 will be available in stores.  And did you pre-order through the Apple store or through one of the carriers, e.g. Verizon or AT&T?  And did you pre-order early on Friday the 14th or are you hours or days back in the pre-order queue?

Wahoo! Just finished up my pre-order on Verizon's site. (Apple site still displaying "We'll be back" page as of 3:18 AM EST).  Definitely says 9/21 DELIVERY, not SHIPPING ...

  • IOS Postal Tracking Links

When I receive a shipment email from a retailer with a tracking number, iOS 8 recognizes that it's a tracking number and turns it into a link to go to the delivery agent's tracking site.
I'm in Canada and unfortunately, when something is sent with a Canada Post tracking number (which is most of the time), iOS sends me instead to the USPS tracking site which, of course, results in a "not found" message.
I bought my iPhone 6 in Canada, all my region settings are Canada, my app and iTunes store are set to Canada, yet a package tracking link defaults to United States.
Is there any setting I can adjust for this?  It's a great iOS feature, but assuming I'm American renders it practically useless.

  • ISA Shipment Tracking Link

    Hi,
I'm working on the enhancements on the CRM ISA B2B/B2C application (CRM 4.0 ISA Sp09). Client Requirement is to have the Shipment Tracking Link (UPS) in the application once the shipment is dispatched from R/3. Could someone tell me the steps invloved to achieve this?
    Greatly appreciate all the help.
    Thanks,
      Vishal Mehta.

Hi follow the standard SAP documentation. You will find it easy in implementing the Shipment tracking.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm40/helpdata/en/2f/cc2168d28f11d5b2d8000102ddd7e5/content.htm
I have configured according to this.I am getting it fine for FEDEX.The only problem I am facing is the URL mentioned in the table TCAURL  for UPS and DHL.
As per the above document the Tracking number is getting attached to the URL where as in actual DHL and UPS case they have secured order tracking.
If you get some solution for UPS regarding this please let me know.
But follow the steps as mentioned above. The shipment tracking will be set up automatically without much effort.
Please allot reward point if you think that it solved your problem.

  • Tracking links to other sites

I would like to track how many times users of my site are clicking links that send them to other web sites.  I use Google Analytics but it is not a part of it.  I know that some people add code to their links for tracking the clicks.

  • Help! - Tracks linked to application files, not my music !!

Something very weird is going on here....
I've got about 500 tracks that somehow are linked to application files. For example if I select "Show in Finder" it takes me to:
    Applications:iWeb.app:Contents:Frameworks:SFApplication.framework:Versions:A:Res ources:pt_PT.lproj:SFAppWarningsInspector.nib:keyedobjects.nib
If it were just one or two tracks I'd clean it up manually, but I've got hundreds like this...
Any ideas how to automatically relink these to the original files which still exist in my iTunes Music folder?
Any idea how this happened in the first place? My only thought is that the library file may have been corrupted, but if so, how did the tracks wind up pointing to files inside an applications package?

Should this be on the Flash forum?

  • Restoring stereo audio track link to video track as source/destination

I've read everything I can find relevant in discussions & manuals but can't figure out how to get my two audio tracks (stereo) linked back to video track as destinations, as they once were, with video and audio source/destination tabs joined. In the patch panel (when I started this morning) I noticed that only A1 destination button had an a1 source. There was no a2 Source button to join to A2 Destination.
In my groping around I managed to also make the a1 source button dissapear as well. Link and Stereo Pair are checked in the Modify menu. Linked Selection button is on in Timeline.
What the heck am I doing wrong here and how do I get those Source buttons to reappear? Thanks for whatever advice you guys can give.
    - Frazzled Idiot

"how do I get those Source buttons to reappear?"
The vn and an source tabs appear and disappear in the timeline depending on the clip in the viewer: if it is only video, there is only v1, if it is only stereo audio you have a1 and a2, if you have a standard clip audio + video you have v1, a1 and a2, and so on. Just depends on the clip in the viewer.
If you had only a1 source, it means that you probably had your clip unlinked, your stereo pair unlinked and you loaded only one of the 2 stereo tracks to the viewer. If you want to edit them back together select the video and 2 audio tracks in the timeline and cmd-L (link video to audio) and opt-L (link stereo pair).
After that when you load the clip in the viewer you'l have again v1, a1 and a2 source buttons ready to use.

  • Tracking Link click

    Hi everyone!
I have one doubt in JSP....
I am having one JSP page (say Home page) which consists various url links(with a href tag).
After clicking on to any of the links I want to keep the record of which link was clicked(i.e. which JSP page is called)
I want to test it on home page itself instead of going into each JSP page to check which JSP was called everytime when user click on the available url on Home page.
In short I want to track which reference link was clicked on Home page itself.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ketan.

    hi
    thanks for the reply...
but I am trying to avoid modifying each jsp...
so what I have decided is to write a javascript function in the Home JSP page itself which will take the url as an argument and is called when clicked on any of the link. In that function I am calling a Servlet with query string consisting of corresponding url.The sevlet will take care of storing the url in to the database as well as redirecting to that page.
I have to follow the MVC architecture, so cant include files in JSPs to achieve the same.Instead , I am calling a Servlet which will work as a Controller.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ketan

  • Itunes track links via chapters in garageband

i have produced a lengthly podcast enhanced for itunes playback (chapters, images, lnks). 50% is narrative and 50% musical excerpts. i tried to link each audio excerpt via the chapter to itunes (using itunes linkage code) so people could buy the track if they enjoyed while listening to podcast, etc. but i am finding that itunes track linkage is not working or even showing up. i can link to web pages but just not to itunes tracks specifically. is this an itunes bug or what? any suggestions? (btw, i am using garageband 3 to assemble podcast)

I believe Final renders the file to 48KHz on import. I haven't used final cut in a long time but you shouldn't have to re-render at every edit but I could be wrong. Probably best to ask this in the final cut thread.

  • FedEx Tracking Link for your iPhone

WOW, Apple covers all the bases. Follow this link to track your shipment LIVE!

Same as mine. You should get an email later with the tracking number again and it will list UPS Business 2-day delivery. It won't show up on the UPS site until after midnight or after it has been picked up/scanned in. Hope this helps!

  • A LOT of iTunes broken links/tracks after Music folder move...

So yeah, I'm getting a TON of broken links / dead track links in iTunes after having to do two things to my iTunes install recently and I'm at wits end trying to fix it.
I keep my iTunes Music Folder on an external and share the iTunes library between my work Macbook Pro and my home Macbook. Every Friday I drag my iTunes folder and all contents from my MBP onto an external and replace the iTunes folder on the 'weekend' MB, then do the same back on Monday. I keep my iTunes music 'View' as 'Date Added' so that I can always be listening to whatever is newest. It's how I roll.
Well, this week I had some data problems during the transfer and had to use a previous week's iTunes Music Folder, which was fine as I hadn't added much this week.
I also got a new external because the old one was getting a little shady, so after doing the iTunes Music Folder replacement I moved my music all over to a new external drive, told iTunes where it all was at. iTunes did it's thing, 'organized' my stuff and all seemed good - until I got back deeper into the catalogue of music and started getting a LOT of broken tracks. The songs are still there, in the correct folders and all, but for some reason iTunes isn't finding them.
When I say a LOT, I mean so far it's hundreds of my 13,000 songs.
Now I COULD use the 'Super Remove Dead Tracks' script from Doug's to find all the broken files then re-add the whole library, but it will add all the old songs out of order because they will get a new 'Added' date.
I could also manually move thru my whole library holding down the arrow key for 'Next' to find all the broken links then go thru, select them, and use the 'iTunes Track CPR' script from Doug's to re-add them to the library with ratings intact, but still they will be out of order time-wise.
I cannot find a script that will parse my library, find broken links, and re-associate them with their tracks, nor can I figure out why this happened and any other way to fix it. Repairing permissions hasn't helped. Any other ideas?

Just to follow up with a more comprehensive example of looping through a Library to detect & repair "missing" file-tracks:
    <pre>
    property kErrAENoSuchObject:(-1728)
    on run
    tell (application "iTunes")
set theLibraryPlaylist to (first library playlist)
    tell theLibraryPlaylist
set theNumCandidateFileTracks to (count (every file track))
repeat with i from 1 to theNumCandidateFileTracks by 1
    -- Get a reference to this file-track
set thisFileTrackRef to (file track i)
-- Get this file-track's info (useful for debugging, etc.)
set thisArtist to (artist of thisFileTrackRef)
set thisAlbum to (album of thisFileTrackRef)
set thisName to (name of thisFileTrackRef)
    set thisFileTrackInfo to (thisArtist & " > " & thisAlbum & " > " & thisName)
    -- Display a diagnostic message every 500th file-track
    if ((i mod 500) = 0) then
    tell me
    display dialog ("Checking file-track #" & i & ": " & ¬
    return & return & thisFileTrackInfo) ¬
    buttons {"Cancel", "•"} giving up after 2.5
    end tell -- me
    end if
-- Retrieve this file-track's target file (an AS 'alias' object), if any
-- {!!! NOTE: Due to a bug in iTunes 7.x+ (esp. when downloading), AS might
    -- be unable to access the 'location' field of some file-tracks !!!}
    try
set thisFileTrackTargetFile to (location of thisFileTrackRef)
    on error errMsg2 number errNum2
-- Check whether it's that bizarre error: (-1728) "Can't get location of …"
if (errNum2 = (kErrAENoSuchObject of me)) then
-- Set up to just skip this track (assume it's being downloaded)
set thisFileTrackTargetFile to (anything) -- (Other than 'missing value')
    else (* Re-signal all other errors *)
    error errMsg2 number errNum2
    end if
    end try
-- Check whether this file-track is "missing" its target file
    if (thisFileTrackTargetFile = (missing value))
    -- Inform the user
    tell me
    display dialog ("Repairing this missing file-track: " & ¬
    return & return & thisFileTrackInfo) ¬

  • Track PDF Downloads without having to click a link - external website

We want to track how many people download a particular document (pdf) on our external facing publishing website.  The PDF url is contained within a paper-based invoice they receive in the mail.  They then type in the URL to download the PDF brochure.
Therefore, they are not clicking a link anywhere on the website but going directly to the PDF.
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager on our external website but they only track link clicks and not direct downloads of PDFs.
Is there any way to find out how many times a PDF is downloaded directly?

Sure, check out the iis log files or write some code that does that and counts the specific pdf downloads. I've written something that reads iis log files, maybe it can inspire you:
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/The-SharePoint-Flavored-5b03f323
Or, you can use the MS LogParser tool to analyze the iis log files

  • Can you trace which Indesign files link to a specifik image?

I have an image database, that multiple Indesign files link to.
I am not the original author of the Indesign files nor the image database, so I have no overview of how many Indesign files links to each image.
And now I have an image I would like to make a change in - but I am afraid to do so, when I do not know in which Indesign files the image is used.
So my question is - is there a way to track links made to a specific image in any Adobe programme?

May be Flow could do the trick for you....?

Thank you for the response. I didn't know MPEG STREAMCLIP can accept Ref QT files. I have that so I will try to use it in my workflow and see the results.
