Tracking numbers within EntryText

Hi everyone,
I have a login procedure set up to test user's password
input. How to allow
the user to type any password but must have first 3
characters to be
Numeric? for example "123swordfish"
Thanks,
Omar

Thanks Steve.

  • Itunes script to detect gaps in track numbers within an album

Is there an iTunes script out there that will detect gaps in the track numbers within an Artist & Album?    This would be useful to detect incorrectly numbered tracks that could reveal an error in the whole file's tagging that occurred for whatever reason.   I'm picturing a process that would sort your library by Artist+Album+Tracknumber, then look for any numbering gaps and if found, display the 2 files with the gap in-between into a playlist for the user to evaluate for problems.   Or perhaps this is not possible?

Looks like this does most of what you want in that it identifies incomplete albums. You'd still have to see which tracks were missing: http://www.enilnomi.net/cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi/dltext/findincompletealbums.dl
I'm assuming from the product info you're looking for an AppleScript for iTunes for OS X. If you want one for Windows I could probably oblige.

  • Can't remove track numbers from Music app even though they're deleted in iTunes

So I've been having an incredibly annoying issue for a while now, and I can't seem to figure it out or why it happens. I have a large amount of singles and misc. songs in iTunes and I decided to file them under one single Artist and Album, both called iTunes. I then have the track name, artist name, and album name all listed in the track name slot. I have removed all sort by info, album artist info, track numbers, disc numbers, and unchecked the Compilation option on every single of these tracks. In iTunes, the songs are listed under the proper artist and album, and the songs are all alphabetical from A to Z.
Here's where the the problem comes in. When I select the entire list of songs and send them to my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4, they sync fine. However, upon browsing the songs, the first half (about 100 songs) are listed as being track 1. The next 20 or so tracks are listed as track 2. The next 20 or so tracks are listed as track 3. This continues until the bottom of the list, where the last 8 songs are listed as 13, 13, 15, 16, 16, 18, 19, 22. Within each set of shared track numbers (for example, track 1, so 100 songs), the tracks are listed alphabetically. Then when I hit the set of songs listed as track 2, the alphabetizing resets again, and so on and so forth. I can't figure out why this is, other than that some sort of data is still contained within the song files that the Music app picks up and interprets. I shouldn't have to manually assign each of the 212 tracks its own listing, such as 1/212, 2/212, etc. because that would take forever and I'd need to re-edit half the tracks when I added new music to the iTunes album. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?; because I'm totally bamboozled as to where these faux track numbers are coming from.

Ok, I "sorta" figured it out. I was having trouble even sorting the songs into separate albums like iTunes A B C, iTunes D E F, etc. because Music still placed random track numbers onto the songs. So, I went back to my original plan which was to have one album and artist called iTunes, and I forced all tracks to be track 1 of 1, and disc 1 of 1. That seems to have fixed the issue and forced Music to put them in alphabetical order. I'm still unsure as to why Music won't just alphabetize the tracks as they are in iTunes.

  • ITunes dropping the 'of' part of track numbers

I have been experiencing this issue with iTunes since day dot.
I always format my track numbers so they are displayed as track number 'XX of XX' when adding albums to help keep track of the number of tracks contained within each album.
However occasionally, iTunes will completely drop the 'of XX' part of the track number causing me to have to fill it in again. What causes this and how do I avoid it?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • ITunes Sorting Issue - By numbers? (not "track numbers")

How can I get iTunes to sort using the defaulted numbers in List View. The header cannot be clicked in List View, but can in Grid View. Is there any way it can be clicked or tricked into sorting using them? It's very handy. Thanks.

If you click on any column header, it will sort the entire library in numerical or alphabetical order based on the listing of whatever column header has been clicked on.
So if you click on "Name", you will get:
    2 Minutes To Midnight - Iron Maiden - 9 of 16
    8 Mile Road - Grant Lee Buffalo - 9 of 14
    A Bad Night - Cat Stevens - 19 of 19
    Badlands - Bruce Springsteen - 1 of 10
    Classico - Tenacious D - 2 of 15
    etc.
If you click on "Artist" then the exact same Library will be re-ordered as:
    Badlands - Bruce Springsteen - 1 of 10
    A Bad Night - Cat Stevens - 19 of 19
    8 Mile Road - Grant Lee Buffalo - 9 of 14
    2 Minutes To Midnight - Iron Maiden - 9 of 16
    Classico - Tenacious D - 2 of 15
    etc.
By default, iTunes should be recognising the "Artist" column as the main sorting definer, with album track numbers being the secondary sorting consideration within artists.
If for some reason your sorting order has fallen foul of this, then to get it back on track, firstclick on the "Track #" header, to sort your songs by track number: 1 of 10, 2 of 10, 3 of 10, etc. and then click on "Artist".
This should get it back to how you want it.
If this [still] isn't working for you, then you need to perhaps check that your songs are tagged correctly. Make sure that all tracks from the same album all have the track numbers filled in, in both the first and second fields in the "Track Number" spaces, ie: X of X.

  • Accidently deleted track numbers. How do i get them back without manually doing it one by one?

I was going thru my itunes to try and get it all in order.
I highlighted an album, get info, checked a few boxes, and i thought all was looking good.
Then i discovered a heap of songs did not have track numbers.
I eventually worked out that one of those few boxes i checked was the track number box.
So now i am missing quite a lot of track numbers.
Is it possible to to get them back? Or do i need to sit here for days to manually put the track nubers in?
Please give me good news because its about 20G of music missing track numbers :-(
    Thankyou

MusicBrainz often isn't that successful, and then there is the problem of getting iTunes to recognize the external update.
Start with this method to restore your most recent library file that had the correct information.
Under Edit > Preferences > Advanced turn off the option to Keep iTunes media folder organized.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. iTunes should now have the correct track numbers, but the files won't be where iTunes expects to find them.
To fix this new problem use my script FindTracks.
When that is done use iTunes Folder Watch to catch up with any files that have been added or removed since the backup file was created. Any files added at this stage will probably need their track numbers fixing by hand.
You can now reenable the keep organized option.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • I used the disc and track numbers, but it won't show on my iPod as separate CDs?

    Hi,
I used the disc and track numbers of get info in iTunes, and I would like to have my CDs separate like if they are 3 CDs on my iPod Classic rather then having a big long list of songs, but after using the disc and track numbers, I still don't see on my iPod which one is CD1, and etc. I took a screenshot of my iTunes. How could I have my CDs separate just like the originals?

    That's the screenshot.

See Corrupt iPod classic for tips if the iPod isn't working as expected and contains media that isn't in your active library.

  • Manually Adding Track Numbers Doesn't Work!

I would like to make a "custom album" for an artist, a greatest hits designed by me, if you will. The songs are all by a single artist, but come from various sources. Some were purchased from iTunes Music Store, some were imported directly from CDs, some were MP3 files from my old PC, etc. (you get the idea).
Anyway, I select all of the tracks, press Command+I to open up the "Get Info" window. For all the tracks at once, I give the album a name ("Best Of Whomever") and manually enter the tracks (1 of 32, 2 of 32, 3 of 32, etc.) I check everything else to make sure there are no inconsistencies between the tracks, as I want all things to be equal. When I'm done, however, there is inevitably a stubborn track (or two or three) that insists on ignoring its assigned track number and placing itself somewhere else in the list. This happens most often with IMS tracks. It's very frustrating and annoying.
The way around it, of course, is to make a playlist. But without folder support for the iPod, playlists quickly become unmanageable.
So my point is, if I manually assign a track a track number, it should go where it belongs and not wherever it chooses to. (And remember, before I assigned track numbers, I gave all of the tracks the same album name and info as a group, so there are no inconsistencies from track to track, like wierd spaces or misspellings.) I've tried everything and can't seem to solve this problem.

My suggestion would be to ask in the iWork for iOS forum. Many more iOS users there.

  • Adding track numbers to a custom mix

I created an album in iTunes, a collection of various songs from my library. If my album consists of 20 songs, is there any way to get iTunes to automatically assign track numbers based on the order of the songs? For example, the second song in the list I would like to say "Track 2 of 20." I don't want to have to edit each song's info and manually add the track number. I want iTunes to automatically make the third song in the list track 3, the fourth song track 4, etc.
Is there any way to do this?
    Thank you.

You could check Doug's Scripts (just Google and you'll find it) and you might find a script to do this. Otherwise, the only way I know of is to manually input the information.

  • Having some major issues with track numbers in the newest iTunes

I just recently went out and bought some new albums today for my birthday which was over the weekend and I ripped them to my computer, but when I go to put them into iTunes their track numbers are wrong. So as normal I went to change them, but found that when I click in the track number box I cannot input any numbers what so ever. I went and checked to see if the file was a read only file and it wasn't and I don't have any restrictions on this laptop so I'm not sure of what to do. Before I updated to 10.6.1 I was able to change anything and everything in the get info tab now I can only change the track name, album name, and artist. Any ideas?

If you can click in the track number box, but get no numbers to appear, then I'd suspect you've got shift lock or num lock in the wrong position. If the box is greyed out, or you can enter new details but they are not saved, then I'd be looking for a permissions issue.

  • Itunes assigns track numbers automatically

iTunes 11 - When I play a track, sometimes iTunes will automatically assign a track number to it, but not always. So what happens is it winds up putting an entire albumn out of order. In other ones, it will assign track #1 to track 1, then track 4 to track 4 and so on. So the ones it doesn't assign a track number wind up displaying on that particular album before the ones that were given a track number. It's doing this pretty randomly and causing a lot of grief.
I realize I can right click on the tracks without an assinged track number and assign the right number, but that's a pain for thousands of songs. I tried removing the Track# column, but that doesn't help. I still prefer to listen to listen to albums in their entirety and like to put them on my iPod, etc. that way.
Can't itunes just sort by artist name, then album, then the correct order of the album? This never happened on a previous version. Why did they do this?

The track numbers are all fine, the album and artist are exactly the same for all of them.
If you dont understand my problem, just check this image:
    http://cncvision.org/itunesproblem.PNG
the tracks arent going in the right order. IDK why it wont work. I bought the album on itunes, then bought the song "not now" cause itunes didnt include it on the album, and bought "stockholm syndrome" cause itunes didnt include it on the album. Both songs are on the normal cd. I tried to put those two songs onto the album in the order they would be if I bought the cd and ripped it, but itunes wont place them in that order.

  • Need FedEx Tracking Numbers for Testing...

    Hi Folks,
I'm debugging a FedEx tracking utility, but I need a number
of tracking numbers (preferably a mix of shipping methods, etc) to
debug. Unfortunately, FedEx support can't provide any, and our
company has a very limited number (we're tracking inbound orders,
    not outbound).
If anybody has any FedEx tracking numbers they would be
willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it! FedEx keeps the
tracking numbers live for 12 months, so age should not be an issue.
If you'd prefer an anonomous posting, please just send me

    Thank you!

Tracking number is specified on delivery_detail_id. You can use following API to update the tracking number. Define a cursor that will fetch the tracking number from staging or intermediate table and pass the following details:
    FOR cur_rec IN cur LOOP
    l_changed_attributes (l_rec_count).delivery_detail_id := cur_rec.delivery_detail_id;
    l_changed_attributes (l_rec_count).shipped_quantity := cur_rec.picked_quantity;
    l_changed_attributes (l_rec_count).tracking_number :=
    cur_rec.tracking_number;
    l_rec_count := l_rec_count + 1;
    END LOOP;

  • ITunes keep deleting my track numbers

For some reason several of my albums are losing there track numbers along with other id3 info. Why?

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

  • Is it impossible to use track editor within iphone version of GB? If yes, where is the button?

Is it impossible to use track editor within iphone version of GB? If yes, where is the button?

    Thanks for the information provided.
I am using 9i JDeveloper with OA extension, i.e., 11.5.10 CU2 JDeveloper from Patch 4573517 (Oracle9i JDeveloper with OA Extension for 11.5.10 CU2)
I have gone through the developer's guide. Though Developer's guide talks about "Building an OA Framework application (basics)" in chapter 3, the file naming standards hint that such kind of an application can go ONLY as an extension to the existing application.
Chapter 9 talks about extending and deploying OA FWK applications which are purely extensions. These extensions might typically have a custom EO, VO and at the max. a custom CO too. And for deploying this custom code, documentation talks about substituting the standard BC4J objects with that of the custom ones. This is OK as long as we need modifications to an existing page.
BUT, what I am looking forward is "whether it's possible to develop a new application altogether, e.g. an online book store using OA framework and integrate it with Oracle E-Business suite.". If so, how can such a new application be deployed without losing the flexibility on future upgrades?

  • Songs listed as track numbers??

My mom got an Ipod for Christmas and I'm trying to help her figure out how to use it.
We just imported a whole CD into the Itunes and synced it....but the songs are listed as track numbers, not the actual title or artists.
I did the advanced/get CD track names thing, and it says "accessing gracenote" and then nothing changes.
Please help, what do we do?

Dial up may be the issue because it's slower than Broadband.
The track/album info is contained in what is known as the Gracenote CD Data Base, and iTunes access this everytime you insert a cd (as long as there is an internet connection).
It would be very unusual for a Bonnie Raitt cd not to be listed as I have about 8 of those imported into iTunes and they all retrieved info from the CDDB correctly.
Try on your computer and if it works ok, the issue is with your Moms computer.
Btw, please don't give points to those who ask for them. The forum Hosts are trying to crack down on this kind of behaviour, and hopefully persistent offenders will have their accounts here suspended.
