Tracking pad issue with Os

Sometimes the track pad arrow is not responding correctly.  The arrow will be responsive, the screen will blink and the tracking pad becomes very erratic.

YOU CAN USE 3.2.2 in Yosemite ! To bad for you if you already bought the 4.0 in the App Store... Here is my how to video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf_2z0DViBM

  • New Track Pad Issues After 10.6.4 Update

I understand that the Mac OS X 10.6.4 was meant to address some track pad issues. I was not experiencing any track pad issue on my Late 2009 MacBook Pro prior to the update. However now my laptop is almost unusable!
The pointer tracking remains accurate on all areas of the track pad, however most clicks are not recognized, requiring an average of 3-5 clicks to initiate an response. Also the bottom half of the track pad surface now seems less responsive to input than the top half. Multitouch gestures like selecting and dragging often lose track of my fingers before I've completed the action. Scrolling still seems to work fine.
Again, I've had this MacBook Pro for 9 months now and prior to the 10.6.4 update the track pad was highly responsive and accurate regardless of how I placed my fingers. Please look into this matter immediately! Thank you.

Exact same problem here. I hadn't notice what you write about the bottom half of the trackpad being less sensitive than the upper one, but now that you said it, I think the same thing it's going on with mine.
I think my problems didn't appear right after I installed 10.6.4, or at least I didn't notice until 2 or 3 days ago. Maybe it worths the try to make a downgrade to 10.6 and check if the problem stop. Let's hope that someone came with the answer to this things, I really hate to use the 'tap to clic' function.

  • X1 Track Pad issue when used with ultraslim powersupply

This is a really strange issue,  Anyone else having it?
X1 I5 160Gb SSD 8Gb Ram  Mix it with a Ultra slim PSU (41R4538) and the track pad starts playing up intermittently.  Unplug the PSU and it works fine.  Use the native PSU and it works fine.       Do you think I have a faulty PSU ?
    Best regards
    Max

Well I got a replacment ultra slim power supply and I have exactly the same issue.

  • MacBook Pro Keyboard and tracking pad issues

I bought a refurbed macbook pro from Apple about 10 months ago. I've loved everything about it . . . until now. Yesterday I turned it on and started having keyboard issues. First the y key wouldn't work, then the rest of the keys followed. At that point, it was still starting up normally, but then the tracking pad would only "right click" on items on my desk top, so I couldn't open applications.
Now it will only open up in safe mode and it makes a noise like I'm pressing all the keys at once at start-up. Nothing happened to it between Saturday night when it was working perfectly and Sunday morning so I'm mystified. I brought it to the genius bar this morning and they also couldn't see what was wrong. Genius said something about how some keys looked "stuck" but mentioned it didn't looked like anything was spilled on it or anything.
The only "weird" thing about it is that the hing between the screen and the keyboard has always been a little loose but I didn't know until my husband bought a new pro a few months later and I felt the difference. The genius didn't seem to think that would mean anything.
They told me it would be at least $280 to send it out, diagnose, and fix it. Considering it's less than a year old, I'm a little reluctant (and poor) to do that right way especially since he had no clue what the problem might be.
I'm planning on trying another Genius Bar to see if they might have a better idea (hey, it worked with my ipod once) but I've been combing the message boards to see if anyone has had a similar issue. I found an older thread that talked about 2008 pros haven't issues with the keyboard and trackpad freezing due to a "faulty pressure connector" so I might try that solution when I get home. But any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you bought your Mac from Apple 10 months ago, it should still be covered by the 1 year warranty and as long as the problem was not caused by accidental damage of some sort, it should be repaired at no cost to you. Was the store aware that you were still under warranty?
You can even upgrade to 3 year Applecare if you do so before the first year of ownership is up--definitely something to do if your Mac is having troubles already.
When you see the next genius, make sure they know you are still in the 1 year warranty period, and if you can, upgrade to 3 year Applecare.
You can also call Applecare on the phone and tell them about these problems and ask them for a case number, which will at least establish that they started while you were still under warranty. If a problem first occurs under warranty, Apple will honor the warranty until the problem is fixed, even if the warranty runs out in the meantime.
    Good luck!

  • Magic Track pad issue

I have been using the magic track pad for about a 9 months with no issues
however over the last couple of months I've had this problem.
Whenever I'm watching a online video and the quality is not good enough
to go full screen I use the the 2 finger zoom gesture on the
track pad to zoom in to were the video is of acceptable size and quality.
However when I do this I can no longer control the video if I click on the
video controls or progress bar nothing happens and I have to
zoom back out to its original size before I can pause, rewind or fast
forward, can anyone help resolve this cheers.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • G780 - Track pad issue

    Hi,
Just got my Lenovo G780 for about 2 weeks now and I have a weird issue with the track pad.
    1. Whenever I double select something, then I immediately proceed to move my pointer, it doesn't respond until a second later. It is a very noticeable delay.
(I also have the same problem when I type and use the track pad immediately afterwards, it has a delay in response).
    2. When I double select a word and move my pointer afterwards, the selection just trails along where I move towards which is annoying because now I need to triple select in order to let the selection go. On regular laptops and mouses, all I need to do is double click and whatever is selected with no problems.
I do not encounter any of these issues with my USB mouse.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi  terramishu,
thanks for posting back. To go to the setting you have to go to the control panel and then click mouse. (See illustartion below.)
Once in the Mous Propeties click on the "UltraNav" Tab.
Once in the "UltraNav" Tab click on the "Settings" Button.
A newwindow should appear (See illustartion below)
Click on Smart check settings and Palm Check.
From here move the slider from letf to right depending on how you like the sensitivity to be. A more detailed explination of the sensitivity will be explained below the slider.
    Hope this helps.

  • Track pad problem with retina iMac

I have a brad new 27" Retina iMac - I selected the wireless keyboard and trackpad. The trackpad seems to drop it bluetooth connection after the iMac sleeps - limited functionality is still available but System Preferences (both trackpad and Bluetooth) claim they cannot find a trackpad. Apple Support have said this issue has been reported a number of times but all suggestions do not help. My new iMac is 2 days "old" - I'm almost ready to send it back under the 10-day return policy and wait a couple of months until this issue is fixed. Can anyone help???

I wrote too soon. No matter what I do, I can no longer swipe between pages with my track pad. The mouse works fine. I can get to mission control with a three or four finger gesture depending upon how I set it in preferences.
I see how I got caught with the 3 and 4 finger swipe settings: the preferences panel makes sure you don't try to do two things with the same setting and will automatically revise settings accordingly. Logical enough.

  • No Output Devices Found and Track Pad Issues

I bought my Macbook Pro in mid-November 2011.  Yesterday I noticed that my Macbook did not have any sound and when I checked System Preferences it gave me the dreaded "No output devices found" message.  I could hear a start up sound but nothing after I have already logged in to any of my accounts.  This is the first time I encountered it and I did some research so I have already done a PRAM reset, permission repair and I even created a new user account to see if I will encounter the same problem.  Same thing on the other user account, still no sound.  I also found out that the sound would only come out with a USB headset.  Headsets with jacks won't work either.
I brought the unit to a service center and they advised me to reinstall OS X Lion and I did.  There was sound right after I reinstalled the OS.  However, it was gone again when I did a reboot.  I also noticed that my track pad won't respond on certain occasions and I have to do a force shutdown by pressing the power button.  What could be the problem?  I am fearing that this is a hardware issue.  I prefer not to have to bring the unit to a service center, wait for a week to get it back then only to encounter the same problem in the future.

Try resetting the PRAM and SMC...

  • Track Pad Issues

The track pad and curser are in sync at times and not at others. Definitley not as accurate as before. Floats a bit and sometimes seems to have a mind of its own.

    See if this Apple support article is of assitance;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1449
At times a very good cleaning of the trackpad can help.  In addition check the battery in your MBP (which is under the trackpad) and see if by chance it has swelled and is thus interfering with the trackpad.
    Ciao.

  • Magic Track Pad Issues?

    Hi guys!
I've just installed my new Seagate, which is going like a cracker, and have reinstalled the peripherals (Apple Keyboard & Apple Track Pad) and they all work BUT the track pad has kinda lost the ability to scroll, zoom, etc, etc with two fingers, which I thought was sort of cool. Any tips for me?

    Heya,
Just Click the Apple Menu - > System Preferences - > Trackpad,
and then you can check boxes to reenable these features

  • Track pad issue after 10.5.6 update

You can not resize the desktop icon anymore. Under the track pad settings. Some of the check box options are missing.
Also iphoto crashes when i try to empty its trash can with 400+ images

The option you are looking for is under Finder Preferences > Advanced > Zoom using trackpad.
You could remove half of the photos in iPhoto Trash and put them into a spare album and try emptying half at a time.
    Best.

  • 2008 unibody macbook wireless and track pad issue

my wireless stopped working awyle back and now the track pad is acting up.
does apple offer a flat fee repair sevice?? for out of warranty \ apple care  units?
    thanks fred

I deleted the mouse by selecting it in the bluetooth options and clicking the minus tab. I went ahead and reinstalled OS X right afterwards. Right now I am having to use a USB mouse and keyboard. I disconnected both prior to start up. I get a widow that shows a demonstration on how to install batteries into a wireless mouse only way to pass that screen was to reattach the USB mouse. Then with a fresh startup no resolve.

  • MacBook Pro Keyboard / Track Pad issues.

Help, I am unable to log into my computer, my keyboard and track pad do not respond.
I had been having problems with an external DVD drive not mounting in 10.5.2. Console would she errors that it would not mount. Under the device manager I would see the drive as usb to IDE with the title of what ever disk I had loaded.
I read on the board here a possible solution that did match one of the error messages I received about 'IOUSBFamily is unable to enumerate a USB device.' That I should delete the IOUSBFamily.ktext file under /system/libraries/extensions. Along with the kernel cashes file.
After doing that I restarted my system. Once the MBP loads to the sign in screen I am unable to do any thing else except use the power button to force the computer to turn off. The keyboard and track pad are both unresponsive. However I am able to get the keyboard to respond before the computer starts up, for example resetting the PRAM with holding Command - Option - R - P until the computer chimes again. I am at a complete loss as to where I can go next. I am unable to reinstall OS X at this time or take the computer to a Genius because I am deployed to Iraq. I also would really like to not loss all my data on it.
Any help is very much appredicated.
    Thank you from Iraq.
    SGT Mazzone

"I am unable to reinstall OS X at this time"
Why? Because you do not have the System Install DVD with you in Iraq? You really need it to troubleshoot.
If you have any 3rd party utilites with you like DiskWarrior and/or TechTool Pro, see if you can boot from them.
I just checked, there are no Apple User Groups in Iraq or Jordan.
Hopefully, someone else will chime in here with other solutions (if any).

  • Track Pad Issues ? Read this!

My iBook worked great the first couple of months and then the trackpad started playing games with us with the cursor jumping all over the place. I found a third party software that fixed the problem immediately and replaced the Apple driver. My be worth a try if you are having the same issues with your trackpad.
