Tracking podcast downloads without server stats

I don't have any server-side stats installed, is there a service out there that will allow me to track downloads of podcast episodes? Is it possible to submit a Feedburner feed to iTunes Music Store or does it need to be the basic xml?

You can submit a feed to Feedburner, and it will then add some of its own tags (for other rss readers) and submit the feed to iTunes. It can provide some statistics, but I don't know exactly how this works, you will need to read their Help to find that out.

  • Tracking podcast download with feedburner feed?

Hello, I'd like to track the amount of downloads of my itunes podcast. If I use a feedburner feed for my itunes podcast feed will feedburner track the amount of times the podcast is downloaded in itunes?
    thanks

I believe that FeedBurner does offer this sort of facility but it's something you would need to take up with them. I'm sure their web site will shower you with this sort of information.

  • Tracking podcast downloads

Is there a way to track how many times my podcasts have been downloaded, subscribed to or listened to?

No, Google Analytics will not be of any help with that.

  • Track PDF Downloads without having to click a link - external website

We want to track how many people download a particular document (pdf) on our external facing publishing website.  The PDF url is contained within a paper-based invoice they receive in the mail.  They then type in the URL to download the PDF brochure.
Therefore, they are not clicking a link anywhere on the website but going directly to the PDF.
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager on our external website but they only track link clicks and not direct downloads of PDFs.
Is there any way to find out how many times a PDF is downloaded directly?

Sure, check out the iis log files or write some code that does that and counts the specific pdf downloads. I've written something that reads iis log files, maybe it can inspire you:
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/The-SharePoint-Flavored-5b03f323
Or, you can use the MS LogParser tool to analyze the iis log files

Go into the App Store, tap Updates, and at the top should appear Purchases. Hit the tab that says "Not on this iPhone" to download again

  • What kind of server power needed for 500 simultanious podcast downloads?

OK I run a VBulletin forum
We have average 500+ people on line at the same time, some times as many as 750..
I want to do some podcasting at the time of a trade show, relating to the forums topic.
What I DONT want is for the forum and server to grind to a halt because we suddenly get a lot of 'pull' / bandwith use because of podcast download / streaming.
Is there anywhere i can go to get info on the tech / server requirements for podcasts and the load they put on servers?
    Thanks v much in advance!

I would suggest just hosting your MP3 files on libsyn
    http://www.libsyn.com
They are setup to handle a lot of podcast bandwidth.
Remember there is no need to host your MP3 files where you have your main site - Just the XML (Rss Feed) should be on your main site.

  • Can't download ColdFusion Server 11 without Akamai Download Manager??

    WTF, Adobe??
Why are you insisting that I use the Akamai Download Manager (which I never trust download managers) in order to download anything???
Based upon advice of others, I have attempted to bypass it by clicking on the "File 1 of 1" link.  But that doesn't give me the CF 11 installation file.  It still links to "Adobe ColdFusion 11 - AkamaiDLM.exe".
WHY CAN'T I DOWNLOAD ANYTHING WITHOUT THE DLM????????????????????
    ^_^

BlueDragon is better than ColdFusion? HAHAHAHA
    In all seriousness:
The download manager is in place because the ColdFusion install file is
rather large and to give the quickest download times, it's hosted
through Akamai CDN. This allows the best global download speeds.
However, as it's a large file, the download manager makes sure all the
right pieces come down in the right order. It's not an intrusive
    application.

  • HT1689 how do i track a stolen ipad without a tracking software downloaded on it??

my ipad was stolen but there was no tracking software downloaded on it before it was stolen. how can i track it without one on it?

    You cannot.
What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
This link, Re: Help! I misplaced / lost my iPhone 5 today morning in delta Chelsea hotel downtown an I am not able to track it. Please help!, has some good advice regarding your options when your iDevice is lost or stolen.

  • Sometimes 9006 error on end of podcast download

    Hello Community,
I have the following problem. When i download a podcast the download scale is going to 100% then it says process file and during the proces file i sometimes get a 9006 error! If i retry and retry eventually the podcast will go onto my pc, but then sometimes is corrupt.
I'm sure something is wrong with my laptop because i tried lots of stuff like:
    - Searched for solutions here (they are 2010 or sg) IE is up to date, Firefox is up to date, Firewall disabled, Virusscan disabled, download smaller podcasts
    - Installed itunes again, installed itunes compleet with new empty libary
    - Went on a different device (Iphone which downloads without problems)
    - Went onto a different wifi with my laptop (problem stays!)
    - I'm not using a proxy server
    - Installed a older version of itunes didn't work
    - Installed the new version again didn't work
i downloaded apps onto my laptop and this went 6 times without problems. So it looks like something is going wrong in the file processing. What can this be?! I'm clueless and really want to use my podcasts again
    Anybody with a good idea?

Ok i think it is fixed!
i uninstalled my NOD32 virusscan. Windows Defender i disabled completly and windows firewall i set back to std settings.
This all together made it work! I don't know why cause i disabled virusscan and firewall but didn't work. When i put the firewall back on the problem was back. Then changed it to the std settings and now it can stay on!
I don't understand but it worked!

  • My podcast downloads fine from OS but not from IOS...

    Hi everyone,
This podcast downloads from the iTunes on OS fine but won't download straight from iOS.
    Anyone know why?
    Nick

    Hi Frank,
Thanks for the response. I've consulted with our server guy and he says that there are no read/write privileges. Jdev is not on the server.
I'm really stumped by this so if you have any ideas, I'd really appreciate it.
    Happr New Year to you,
    Newbe.

  • Server state is set to 'FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE' during shutdown?

The managed server (in a clustered environment) starts fine but while shutting down for some reason the server state is set to FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE. I also noticed that the Node Manager is unable to get the process id (null).
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • How to fix message not downloaded from server

    Hello everyone,
My name is Joshua Kahley, and I am an IT technician in charge of handeling email related issues in my company.  We host our own web and email server and since the I-OS 7 update we have had a problem where many messages cannot be retrieved from our email server.  I confirmed with my own phone that this issue did not exist prior to I-OS 7, messages that displayed fine before were no longer be readable on I-OS 7 when i upgraded.
The error message I recieve is "This message has not been downloaded from the server"
I'm not sure if this is a problem that can be solved on the phone itself as I have tried changing numerous settings.  Has anything changed with the way I-OS 7 handles IMAP messages that my require us to change settings on our server?  No other email provider has this issue as far as I can tell; in addition, all of our customers have the same issue (they all have their email through our servers)
If anyone has any insight into this I would greatly appriciate it.
    ~Joshua Kahley

No fix, but I found a work-around for a single message that iOS email refuses to download at http://www.bitcraft.com.au/iphone-mail-app-says-this-message-has-not-been-downlo aded-from-server/
    that reads:
...here’s a quick fix… Forward the message. Just click Forward and it will ask you “Download rest of message first?”. Say yes and then you will see the old message quoted in the forward. Now if only Apple would make than an option without having to ‘fake’ forward it…
The above worked for me when I encountered "This message has not been downloaded from server” on my iPad 3 running iOS 7.1.1.
