Tracking preload

In the tracking section, you can find out what have you done in the WorkSpace, correct?
Is there a way to manually create some tracking records into LiveCycle's database?
If it's possible to do, how to do it? is it documented somewhere? in SDK, API manuals?
The reason for doing this is, users have some old forms data in a pre-ES system, they don't want to keep two systems (the old system and the LC-ES) running, they want to be able to find their old data from LC-ES.

Hi James
It might be possible, but it would be very complicated.
I suspect it would be easier to modify the Workspace source code to look for forms in two places, the old system and the new.

  • 'Preload This Track' Setting Missing In QT 7.6?

    Greetings,
    Just looking for either verification or debunking. I'm creating text tracks for cue/chapter markers, and in earlier versions of QuickTime there exists an option to preload the text track. I've been able to set it in Classic on my old laptop in v6.0.3, but can't find the option in v7.6.
    Was this setting removed, or am I just looking in the wrong place (Properties > Other Settings)? It used to be a checkbox right there with 'Cache (hint)'. Or is my QT installation somehow hosed?

    Hi Kirk,
    Thanks for the reply. If you re-read my post, you'll discover that I have (and know where to find) the "Cache (hint)" checkbox. What's missing is the "Preload" checkbox that used to be right there with it.
    These are two different settings that do different things. "Preload" actually loads the track *+before playback+* and "Cache" keeps the track in RAM only after the movie has been played. I can set preload via AppleScript in QT 7.6, and I can set it via GUI in QT 6.0.3 (Classic). What I don't understand is whether or not my install of QT 7.6 is borked somehow, or if Apple simply removed the preload option for users to set it in the GUI (and if so, why?!). ;o)
    Any idea?
    Thanks again,
    Doug

  • Quicktime Pro 7.6.5 for Windows - Chapter Tracks problem - Preloading?

    Hi there,
    I have Quicktime Pro 7.6.5 (which is the latest I believe) for Windows and I'm trying to add a chapter track. I'm using Apples tutorial at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials… and I'm up to step 10. In my Other Settings tab under chapters all I have for options is "none" (see? http://i50.tinypic.com/30958wk.jpg) which means there is no properties popup and I can't make it preload.
    Please help? As I'm on Windows I can't use Garageband or whatever, the only programs I have is the CyberLink DVD suite, Windows Movie Maker (for Vista if that matters) and some form of muvee, though I dunno which one.. I also have Showbiz 2 on a disc somewhere.
    Thanks
    (PS: to get this straight, it will work on a DVD right? If I put a chapter track on then burn to DVD when I put the DVD in my player the chapter track will come up?)

    QuickTime Pro does not play .wmv files. It doesn't export them without some other third party software.
    Try reading the steps and supported file formats before your complain about what it does, or doesn't, do.

  • How can I get a preloader to launch a main (external) swf file, and have the main file remove the preloader once it's fully loaded?

    Using Flash MX, ActionScript 2:
    I’ve been struggling for several weeks, trying to get a preloader to work on a large (~80 MB) photo portfolio file (using the method where the preloader is on frame 1 of the file, and when loading is completed, it jumps to the content).  I’ve done countless tutorials, and none seem to work on my presentation.  I even tried downloading a trial version of CS4 so I could export every one of the file’s library movie clips and images so that they load on Frame 2 (a feature MX doesn’t have).  It takes about 20 seconds for the .exe to load from a CD, and no matter which preloader construction I use, it always seems to appear in the last few seconds before the movie loads completely.  During the initial wait time, there’s no indication that anything is happening:  no hourglass on the mouse, and not even a blank screen. This is only true for the first time that the file is loaded from the CD; on subsequent loads, the file must already be in RAM, because it loads within a few seconds.
    I decided that I’m going to try and make the file which the user clicks on (one named Windows_Portfolio.exe or another called Mac_Portfolio.hqx) the preloader so that it would be tiny, and would load instantly.  I want that file to launch the external huge portfolio file (renamed files.swf), keep track of its loading progress, and cycle through a slideshow (10 thumbnail images that transition into each other over 100 frames) proportionally, based upon the percentage of files.swf that had been loaded.
    I assume that there should be a loadMovie() or a loadMovieNum() command on the preloader’s timeline to launch files.swf, and that the initial code of files.swf should have some sort of this._parent._visible=false or other way of deleting the preloader on level0.  Can anyone explain the steps to me, or direct me to a good Flash MX tutorial that explains how to launch another external swf from a preloader .exe, keep track of its load progress, and delete the preloader .exe once the external swf had been loaded?
    Also, I’ve read that, using this construction on a CD, every file has to be in the same place, and that I can’t nest files.swf in a folder named “files,” and reference it with files/files.swf.  Is this true?
    Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

    If you know JavaScript (ECMA Script) then you might be able to get it done applying a for loop and a random function
    to the for loop if you know how to get a page-loaded request into JavaScript.
    But an easier solution, if you know ActionScript 3.0, and if your SWF's don't need to be recoded and can load into a "container" SWF would be to create a master FLA file that loads your SWF's in a random fashion using Math.random() as a multiplier, though you won't see much variation if you only have 2-3 SWF's to load--if you had more than that then you would begin to benefit from the random function's capabilities.  In ActionScript 3.0 use the load() method along with addChild() to load the SWF and add it to the stage.  You will be able to search for specifics on how to code the FLA properly by using Flash's Adobe Help tool and also using an internet search.
    -markerline
    P.S. Once you have the master FLA coded you can Publish it to an SWF and an HTML and if the container/master SWF needs to be in a page with other content you can simply copy and paste the object and embed tags for the container SWF from the published HTML into any place on your master HTML that you need it to reside.  You can then use CSS to control placement of the SWF object if it is in a div tag.

  • I need the info of the preloaded songs that came with my Zen Vision:M

    I accidentally deleted the preloaded tracks on my Zen Vision:M. I've read other posts and realize that since they are copyrighted the only way i can get them back is to buy them, and Ive even gone and checked out Naxos.com, but i think they have specific tracks, and I think the one track I want back is a medley. Im not sure if this was obtained by Creative from Naxos.com or not, but either way I cant find it on Naxos.com. I was hoping someone could post some info on this specific track so I can do a better search or even find it on itunes or something. I dont know much about it but I believe the file was called symphony.mp3 and I belei've it was a medley of John Williams songs. Does anyone have any info on this and what I can do to locate this song, whether I have to purchase it again or not?
    Thanks!!

    the songs on the player are bound to the machine as I recall, you can't copy them off and still have them work.
    I would suggest simply buying a few john williams albums

  • Preload External Jpgs

    What is the easiest way to preload external jpgs? The client
    wants to update these frequently so they should be external, but I
    want them to show up instantly like the rest of the site once the
    preloading is done.
    Any advice? I had thought about loading them into the
    preloader (at 0% alpha), so that they'd be loaded into the cache
    during preload, so that when the home page comes up, they'd be all
    ready to go? But if it's a different instance of the movieclip,
    will it reload the jpg? Or any time i use that external jpg in the
    flash file will it already be in the cache?
    Thanks. I've heard a few different things and would love your
    advice.
    Jeremy

    There are two different things here. pre-caching (I don't
    know what else to call it) and pre-loading.
    It is possible to pre-cache files off the same server. If you
    load into different instances then it should get it from the cache,
    so yes that would speed things up. But... results are dependent on
    an unknown factor: the user's cache settings. If its set to never
    cache you could end up downloading 'to the cache' and just wasting
    bandwidth.
    You can read about that approach here.
    http://www.actionscript.com/Article/tabid/54/ArticleID/Preloading-Files-into-the-Browser-s -Cache/Default.aspx
    Then there's the regular preload approach where you preload
    into movieclips (perhaps with ._visible=false or 0% ._alpha etc).
    You can find a lot of info relevant to that here:
    http://www.quip.net/blog/2007/flash/actionscript-20/tracking-multiple-files-part1

  • How do I program the preloader in a fluid swf from another fluid swf?

    I have built a fluid swf(preloader.swf) which is like an intro-cum-preloader screen to a flash site which is stored in main.swf. How do I program the preloader.swf to show the preload percentage of main.swf ?
    All the swf files used here are fluid,so there is an actionscript file which loads the movieclips onto stage dynamically,please give me a solution to this keeping this in mind. Please do ask for clarifications if needed.

    You want to use the Loader class in Actionscript 3. If you look at the example in the online help, you'll see that there are, among others, a progress event and a complete event. You can use this progress event, to track the progress of the loading of the file. The complete event occurs when the file has completely loaded.
    Have a look at this: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ActionScript/3.0_UsingComponentsAS3/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d1 18a9c65b32-7fa4.html it explains how to use a Progress Bar component to show the loading of a file.

  • Preloading time of flex mobile project seems long

    I have tried a few apps on iPad (e.g. Muni Tracker, Conqu) and the preloading time seems too long (6-10s). Actionscript-only mobile applications are much faster. I am curious to know what is happening during the preloading time, and what can we do to reduce the time.

    I tried my app on my iPad 2 and there is less than half a second before I see the splashscreen. I see the splash screen for 2 or 3 seconds. (I set the minimumDisplayTime at 2 seconds)...
    It's pretty responsive imo.

  • Removing default music from Nokia 5300 track list

    Hi all. I have a really frustrating problem. I have a Mac and put loads of music onto my 5300 Xpress Music using Bluetooth, as I can't use Nokia's PC software. Anyways, the Micro SD card that came with the phone came preloaded with some short ring tones or tracks of some sort that I really have no use for. The phone won't let me delete them. I really would like to exclude them from my playlist as every so often one of these tracks will pop up and I have to manually skip them. Annoying! How do I get rid of them or remove them from my playlist? Thanks!
    My the way, I haven't been even able to customize my own playlist. I am only able to add music to the memory card via the phones Bluetooth connectivity. Thanks again, in advance, for your help!

    This is driving me crazy I'm afraid. I have this exact problem, but for the life of me can't work out how you are finding the files to delete them.
    I am connecting with USB and using the Nokia PC Suite/
    Where do I go from there? I can browse the phone and memory card folders but I can't see the default aac files anywhere.
    Whats worse is I am an IT Techie, so if this turns out to be something obvious I'm going to have to shoot myself

  • Microsoft SQL 2005 preload problem

    Hi Guys,
    First post! I took receipt of my W520 a few weeks ago. It is great, very pleased with it on the whole.
    There is one problem, however. I play a fair amount of recreational card games over the internet. This requires a program which converts the text file “hand histories” into postgreSQL server data to make it quickly readable and provide tracking for win/loss among a whole host of other statistical things.
    Unfortunately after going through their troubleshooting numerous times, going through factory restore and repeating the process, I still cannot get my SQL server to automatically start. Believe me, I have tried everything. Running them all as admin, editing the startup in the windows “services” dialog etc etc. The server does start manually and the program works fine, but every time I start it I have to do it manually and it is irritating. It should just start up in the background but it doesn’t.
    I believe it is the Microsoft SQL 2005 express that is somehow blocking the auto start. Basically, I want my Lenovo as it is, just without the preloaded SQL server. Using the factory restore just reloads it back on and when I manually uninstall the SQL server I still have the same problem. I believe it leaves a lot of little nuggets behind when you uninstall it through the standard W7 “uninstall a program” and the full uninstall looks a long and difficult process, with no guarantee of really removing everything.
    So, the plan is to install a bare copy of W7 using a borrowed disk, install my own personal SQL program and test to see if that works. I am almost certain it will. From there, I plan to build back my programs on top so I essentially have my PC now, bar the bundled SQL 2005 express or whatever it is. Following this I will make a system image and store it away safely to avoid all this mess and only reinstall using the factory disks if absolutely necessary.
    I have my W7 OEM serial, found using a serial grabber. Obviously I didn’t pay all this money to scrap all the useful thinkvantage tools like “airbag” and basic fingerprint/camera drivers etc. I also like the realtime warranty countdown timer. How should I go about this task? Is all I need is the PC serial underneath to reload thinkvantage at a later date with full functionality? Is there anything I should consider before starting?
    If there is a better subforum to post this question in, please let me know.
    Many thanks,
    Nick

    What is service dependency?
    Yes I tried to make a batch file. Not in startup folder, but one on the desktop that had the right path. This returned an error from the statistical program and not the SQL server. It initially looked hopeful as I had it start up the "start server" option for the right SQL server. This opened up the dos window and said it had correctly started. However, when the stats program launched it hung up on loadscreen and returned an error message. Not sure why this was, but it didn't seem to like being loaded through a .bat.
    This seems like a work around more than a solution anyway. I just want to get it to work properly.
    Here is the thread in the database analaysis program forum for your reference.

  • How to preload a preloader? as it may sound funny....

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/a..._structure.html
    try to download the fla. and use the bandwidth profile to
    simulate the loading.
    I and understudying the framework if it. And thot the
    proloading part could help me when comes to fast development work
    using the componenets.
    Wonder what is your comment on it. How they do it that causes
    the pre-loader to appear so fast even tested at 56k.

    what i mean is when i tried to use the progress bar component
    which is the same as the tutorial, mine didn't load in immediately
    as the tutorial does. I tested the tutorial one at 56k with the
    bandwidth profiler and it load fast. Mine came in after the
    preloader component ws loaded 84% base on the bandwidth profiler
    and then it appear and the progress bar track has already progress
    to 90% when it is preloading my template. what is that so?

  • Today is the day the preloading will work! Help...

    I've tried and tried to find different ways to make the preloading work correctly but there is always something that doesn't seem to work with each way. Could someone dumb it down for me and help me understand how to make this work. I've read everything on the safeloader and at this link:
    http://www.stevensacks.net/2010/05/28/flash-cs5-tlf-engine-causes-errors-with-loaded-swfs/
    I've also browsed all blogs and adobe tech notes and just had no luck getting a way that always worked. Here is what I'd like to do:
    Create a preloader swf that contained a movie clip to display the percent.
    Allow the preloader swf to call functions inside of the loaded swf. (this is for stage resizing, usually)
    Be able to use the tlf textengine in my loaded swf's.
    Keep my reference to the stage or pass it from the preloader swf to the loaded swf.
    Every way I've tried seems to lose at least one of these items. Right now I have a file that uses the tlf textfield and a stage reference. It works fine as a standalone swf but it needs a preloader. In the as 3 settings the tlf is merged into the code. The extra size isn't that big of a deal, for now. However, I would love to not do that and point the preloader away from adobe's stock preloader to my own in the as 3 settings. However, I can never get it to work correctly.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    Kglad, I created a system
    that works. I will post it here so others can use it if needed.
    Outline: I'm using a custom preloader.swf to load another swf file. The loaded swf file contains a document class and the tlf textfield. I am able to load this correctly, track the percent loaded, pass the stage reference, use the tlf textfield and use the stage resize functions to dispatch listeners for sites that are 100% of the browser.
    THE PRELOADER SWF
    This file simply contains the preloader movieclip in the library and code in frame 1. I guess a doc class would work here but I have not tested. The AS 3.0 settting are the default settings for player 10.
    Code:
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //     import classes
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    import flash.display.StageAlign;
    import flash.display.StageScaleMode;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.filters.BevelFilter;
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.display.Loader;
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //     set stage alignment
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    stage.addEventListener(Event.ACTIVATE, activateHandler);
    stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, resizeHandler);
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //   variables
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    var pre_loader:Preloader;
    var this_page:String = "sbBackground.swf";
    var load_bar_width:Number = 150; // make this the width of your image
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //    variables

    function resizeHandler(event:Event):void {
    trace("resizeHandler: " + event);
    trace("stageWidth: " + stage.stageWidth + " stageHeight: " + stage.stageHeight);
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //    variables
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    var background_ldr:Loader;
    var background_mc:MovieClip;
    var background_holder:MovieClip = new MovieClip();
    addChild(background_holder);
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //    init site
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    function init():void{
    // show preloader
    pre_loader = new Preloader();
    addChild(pre_loader);
    pre_loader.x = Math.round(stage.stageWidth/2) - Math.round(pre_loader.width/2);
    pre_loader.y = Math.round(stage.stageHeight/2) - Math.round(pre_loader.height/2);
    pre_loader.load_bar.width = 1;
    // load page
    loadThisPage(this_page);
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    //    load called page
    //======================================================================================== =================================================
    function loadThisPage(thisPage:String):void{
    // load new page
    background_ldr = new Loader();
    var pageRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(thisPage);
    background_ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, pageCompleteHandler);
    background_ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, pageProgressHandler);
    background_ldr.load(pageRequest);
    function pageCompleteHandler(loadEvent:Event){
    background_mc = MovieClip(background_ldr.content);
    background_holder.addChild(background_mc);
    removeChild(pre_loader);
    function pageProgressHandler(e:ProgressEvent){
    var loaded:Number = e.target.bytesLoaded;
    var total:Number = e.target.bytesTotal;
    var pct:Number = loaded / total;
    trace(pct);
    pre_loader.pct_txt.text = String(Math.round(pct * 100)) + "%";
    pre_loader.load_bar.width = Math.round(pct * load_bar_width);
    THE LOADED SWF
    This file also used the default settings for Flash player 10. Therefore, I am not merging into the code my tlf library so no increase in file size.
    The doc class:
    package com {
    // core
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.display.Stage;
    import fl.text.TLFTextField;
    import flash.events.Event;
    // import custom classes
    import com.main.BuildStageClass;
    // initialize class
    public class DocClass extends MovieClip {
      // custom classes
      // variables
      public static var build_stage_class:BuildStageClass;
      // stage containers
      public static var main_stage:MovieClip;
      // private toggle var
      private var init:Boolean = false;
      // main constructor
      public function DocClass() {
       addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, stageAddedHandler);
      private function stageAddedHandler(e:Event){
               // trace("Document Class Stage: " + this.stage);
       // initialize classes
       build_stage_class = new BuildStageClass();
       // wait until second added to stage call to initialize application
       if(init == false){
        init = true;
       else{
        removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, stageAddedHandler);
        // add containers to stage
        main_stage = new MovieClip();
        addChild(main_stage);
        // start app
        startApplication();
      public function startApplication():void{
       //trace("here at start");
       // build stage
       build_stage_class.buildStage();
    This works 100% for me without using the safeloader in the preloader.swf. I've experienced some issues with the safeloader before so not using it is a blessing.
    I hope this helps someone! Enjoy.

  • Preloading Data for Applet Game

    Hey all!
    I was wondering how I could go about preloading all of the images and sounds I use in my game (applet-form) before the user starts playing. It would be especially helpful to have a bar going across that would show the user their status.
    It would be even greater to allow the JAR files (I would assume) that hold this data to be cacheable on the user's computer, so they do not need to redownload the data every time they wish to play. This most likely will be a setting they have to choose, but I'm not sure if anything extra would be needed on my part to enable that capability for my users.
    I'm fairly advanced with Java; I simply cannot for the life of me figure out how to preload this data.
    Any links, resources or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
    --Andrew

    1. Have the applet load (basically do nothing during construction, init, or run other than get a very basic applet loaded). Have a timer go off to trigger #2 after it is created so it at least loads and the user sees something. A custom class loader might be good, but I don't know anything about them.
    2. Then start a thread or threads to load the images and sounds. If you know what file sizes they are you can code a JProgressBar to keep track of how far along you are. (Annoying to maintain, but a good indication of what is left to load.)
    3. Definitely use a jar file to bundle everything. The JVM will cache the jar file if the user doesn't modify the defaults.
    4. http://sourceforge.net/projects/javoids/
    The main problem with Javoids was that I didn't code it in a way so as to observe #1 and 2 above.
    Good luck in your project. I hope this gives you some ideas to help you on your project.

  • Adding chapter tracks to quicktime movies

    Hello everyone,
    I work for a university distance education department and a professor would like to add chapters to the h.264 lectures we product. The chapters will be topics covered during the lecture so students can refer directly to them.
    The only issue with this is that even with apple's instructions, this task is difficult to do, and we need to be able to do these as quickly as possible.
    Maybe there is an application we could use or a script that would do this for us. I figure something that opens the movie, asks what time stamp and what chapter, and then can export the movie.
    Is this a pipe dream?

    I tried using Garageband to get a movie with chapters for use on Apple TV. Able to get chapters using either podcast or video, but the exported movie was compressed to H.263, even though the file I dragged was a H.264 used by ATV. The H.263 file would not play on ATV.
    Apple needs to update the QT 7.2 manual (7/07) for creating chapters. I'm using QT Pro 7.2, and several things are different. In item 7, the "Movie Info" is Movie Inspector. In item 11, the last timestamp may be extraneous, and needs to be deleted (if there are more timestamps than chapters desired plus one duration). In item 17, when main video is selected, the Chapters pop-up needs to have "text track" chosen. Then in item 18, when text track is selected, the Chapters pop-up should have "none" chosen. There is no such selection as "preload this track".
    After much fiddling, I was able to generate a .mov file with the same size and codec (H.264) as the original .m4v file I started with. The .mov file imported into iTunes, synced with ATV, and plays beautifully on the TV with chapter markers showing on the ATV timeline.

  • Feature Request: Ability to import multiple audio tracks

    Hello, I'm having a problem with Premiere Pro CC 2014.2. Unfortunately it lacks an important feature that I require if I'm to transition from Sony Vegas Pro. I much prefer Premiere, but I'm stuck using Vegas due to Premiere's inability to import all the audio tracks in my video files. I've seen a few other people around the internet complaining of the same problem and they also feel that it's rather silly for such a major editing software to lack this feature.
    Here is an example video file. If you open it in Premiere Pro you'll not be able to hear my microphone, although it's there in Windows Media Player and Sony Vegas.

    All I get is "left" and "right". I tried to set the number of channels to 2 but it just ended up with an empty channel.
    Here's the audio specs from MediaInfo:

    I've read on several video editing forums that this is just how Premiere is and you simply can't load the audio channel. Also the video file was made in Bandicam. I've also tried Dxtory and had the same problem.
    Edit:
    Looked at the media properties for the video and saw this:
    Audio track 1:
    Size is 42.74M bytes
    Rate is 48000 samples/sec
    Sample size is 16 bits
    Audio track 2:
    Size is 0 bytes
    Rate is 48000 samples/sec
    Sample size is 16 bits
    I know for a fact that there's audio data in that track.
