Tracking seniority

Hi,
I know that seniority can be tracked on I0041. But is there actually an infotype as well that stores seniority-related information?
Thanks!

Hi Meredith
if you want to calculate the seniority period , you can check the possibility of using the Evaluation Basis under the Personnel Management --> Evaluation Basis -->Calculation of Employment Period node . This is standard functionality which can be used to calculate the seniority period for certain employee groups based on the calculation rules you setup using these nodes.
you can also check the following node , which would be apt for your requirement Personnel Administration -- > Payroll Data -->Seniority  , where you have Calculation methods , default values & bonus determination options.

Gautham.

  • ITunes Truncate Track Ending, Unsolved in 2+ Years: My Letter to Steve Jobs

I have posted this problem twice in this forum. Twice they were answered with something totally irrelevant, and then marked "Solved" and deleted.
Finally, I am going to mail the CD, and this letter to Steve Jobs, to let him know personally the bug, after so many years of iTunes, and the bullish way his stuff has been treating my questions.
    Dear Steve,
My name is Leping, Ph.D. in Physics, working in the San Francisco Bay area as a senior medical imaging scientist. I am a long time and loyal Mac user and promoter -- actually I have not yet really needed to use a PC in my life (except for serious music ripping -- see below), and in the graduate school days our five+ million dollar NMR lab was run from a Mac.
Unfortunately, I am also an avid classical music enthusiasts, and part time musician. Needless to say I am now with my 6th iPod, and I believe I understand all the bells and whistles of iTunes. I am not talking about the higher-level bit-wise accurate CD ripping, that is only available on the PCs, through the EAC software, since also, as a well-regarded and published photographer, I know when is the time to use the pro level applications, such as Adobe Photoshop instead of iPhoto. For my photography works please check out my website at http://www.lepingzha.com -- I will be more than glad if you and/or Apple have use of any of my images.
However, I know a long time iTunes bug, that have never been addressed. Actually I posted it twice to the Apple web discussion forums, but was twice offered irrelevant answers, followed by the subject flagged as "Solved", and subsequently deleted.
Please open the still sealed compact disc in this letter, which I got in a retailer just to show you the problem. The title, Deustsche Grammaphon (DG) B0003902, is "Lang Lang plays Rachmaninov Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini". It happens I am a Chinese American, but I want you to listen a bit into the disc not because I am a fan of Mr. Lang's playing -- as a matter of fact I actually not, but for the much more serious reason.
Please rip the Rhapsody in iTunes, to any format (AAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, MP3...) starting from track number 4. A few tracks after that point would be adequate -- these are very short (10-30 seconds) tracks that truly highlight the problem. Listen to the resulting music, and the original CD, you will immediately hear the big problem, start right at the end of track 4 and at the end of every of these short tracks -- fraction of the ending second(s) are harshly chopped off, brutally truncated, and uncover-ably lost.
The same thing happens anywhere I use the Apple codecs, for example, converting the EAC (bit-wise correctly, as confirmed by its check-sum feature against the known sum database) ripped WAV files to ALAC or AAC, for instance, either on a Mac or a PC. The very same thing just happen, while there is no problem to any other non-Apple codecs (mainly to flavours of MP3 -- since Apple has the AAC and ALCA codec nobody bothered to write their own, I guess). So for our serious classical listeners, the iTunes and the Apple codecs are very problematic if not useless in many cases (operas immediately in my mind)!
Please alse not that, over the time the same problem has always been reported here, there, and basically everywhere, but every time there are gurus made comments which does not solve the issue. The followings are some recent examples.

I hope you, my much respected and praised Steve, realize, that, how could, and mostly unthinkable, after so many great years, there can be still such very basic and serious issue the iTunes codecs can not handle in the right way? Does the track length information get truncated somewhere (or floored to an integer)? Why it is so difficult to acknowledge such a basic issue, and to have it fixed in the next release?
Thanks for your time and hope you enjoy the music.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
    Best regards,
    Leping Zha, Ph.D.
    San Mateo, California, U.S.A.

Finally found the reason: in the track's option field for some reason the "stop time" flag is checked and the timing is always about a second earlier than the actual track length.
Searched Doug's scripts and there is nothing to batch reset, or unflag the "stop time" tag. Anyone has a better idea rather than trying to deselect the tag track by track?
Once the "stop time" is unset the converted tracks will play through without truncations at the end.

  • Music album cover images and track titles show on iPhone 4s but music doesn't play - any ideas?

I am a Young at Heart Senior, new to iPhone 4s, have an old creaking pc with Windows XP Home.....but plan to enter the real world any day soon by buying a new Mac!
Here is my problem, I purchased an album on iTunes and mistakenly started to sync it to my phone, (although I don't have iCloud loaded on my pc). I stopped it mid download and later noticed that the total track numbers were showing as a red number above the "more" button as if they were waiting to complete the download. It stayed there while I thought about it for a few days, but when I click the Album button all the tracks are listed.
Now to the funny part.....when I click on a track or indeed any of them, it doesn't play a sound...but the progress bar above moves as if "now playing".
So, I thought.... no problem, I would connect the phone up to iTunes and delete the tracks....but when I do so, this album and none of it's track titles show in my music list for the phone......weird.
So, I have a large album with titles only on my phone, no music behind the titles (which, incidentally, is rubbish anyway) and I can't get rid of it off my phone, any of you young whizzy iPhoners have any ideas how to clear it off???
I did think I might just Restore my phone, but wondered whether downloading all my stuff from iCloud would still include the dreaded  "Now That's What I Call Christmas" album, which I only purchased in late 2011 to play at a seniors Xmas party...........you live and learn!
You will guess from my ramblings that I am not at all techy, but consider myself willing to learn and apart from this hiccup........I luuuurve my iPhone!

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go

  • IPod Nano directory does not show loaded tracks

I have a 7th Gen iPod Nano that was formatted by iTunes for Windows 7 that does not show the tracks loaded on it once it is ejected. Apple has replaced the Nano twice with no change. Working with AppleCare Support I have removed iTunes and everything else from Apple several times in accordance with the "Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8" Knowledge Base article. We tried various cables and different USB ports but they made no difference. In between each removal I have run CCleaner's registry search and cleanup tool and restarted the computer. Windows 7 is and has been up to date and the version of iTunes has always been the latest. iTunes will recognize the Nano and I can load playlists on it but once I eject it and select the music icon it says that there is no music loaded. When I check to see if the iPod knows that there is anything loaded it shows that there is something loaded by virtue of the fact that it shows the same amount of free space as iTunes did just before it was ejected. I have spent a couple of weeks chasing this problem with the AppleCare Support Team in Cupertino and we are all stumped.
I do not have any problems when I connect my iPod Classic to the same computer and load tracks on it.
All of the Nano's that have experienced this problem have worked fine when restored on my Mac.
The original Nano worked fine with this Windows 7 computer for about 9 months and then started saying that it needed to be restored every time it was connected even if it had just been restored. That problem brought about the first replacement of the Nano. After all of our efforts the AppleCare Support Team suggested that we replace the Nano again so that is what we did this week with no resolution of the problem.
Does anyone know of any Windows software that is known to create problems with iTunes?
I had not connected a Nano to the computer for about 2 months before I started having problems so I have no way of determining what might have been installed that caused this problem. This is a company computer and all software installations and updates are controlled by our IT Dept. iTunes is supported by the company due to the fact that our IT Dept. personnel and senior management have company iPhones and some iPads. We did connect the Nano to one of the IT computers and it was recognized and iTunes was able to see the tracks loaded but there was nothing available once it was ejected.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

  • How to develop algorithms for eye-tracking using labview

Working on a senior project using vision builder, labview, and NI camera 1712. Unfortunately, none of us in the group has had a lot of exposure to working with any of it. So far, we've been able to have the camera to identify the eyes as well as developed a program that allows us to type in points in x and y coordinates and moves the mouse to those coordinates on the screen. Now what we want to do is sync up that eye movement so that the mouse cursor will move based on eyes rather than typing in the location. Could someone please help us with  developing/pointing us in the right direction of  how to create the algorithms that will allow us to use the real-time tracking of the eyes to moving the mouse cursor?
Thanks a ton in advance!!! =)

    Hi ashya09,
It sounds like you're close to getting your application working! Could you provide some more information on how you have both of these parts of your application implemented so I can help explain how to tie them together?
I'm assuming that you're using a Call Library Function Node with the SetCursorPos command to change the cursor position. Right now you're probably using controls or constants to wire in the position. You should be able to do the same thing but instead wire in an output from your eye identification. What function are you using for your eye identification? If you give me more information on this function I should be able to point you towards the right output to use.
    Thanks!

  • Calendar tracking not consistant when meetings booked by delegate in cached mode

    Situation:
    Exchange 2010 Sp3
Outlook 2010 SP1 Cached mode, with delegate having full access to manager's mailbox with auto mapping on.
Whe the delaget books a meeting in the managers callander.  Some of the response are not relected in the tracking on the meeting.  The patern is that everybody who responded quickly are not reflected, but at some point the responses start being
    reflected in the tracking.
I think that the issue is that when some of the responses start coming in, the meeting has not yet been synced to the owners mailbox.  When the reponse comes in, there is no meeting object to update, so it gets ignored. When the calendar oject
finally gets synced the response that come in from that point , are processed and get reflected in the tracking.  this is particularly obvious for meeting rooms, since our rooms are setup to auto-accept and they response within seconds.
I have tried changing the Cache setting, to not cache shared data, this way when the delegate works in the Manager's calender the change are happening directly in the Mailbox.  With this configuration all the meeting response are getting processed.
I can use this workaround for some people but we do have some admins that want to cache the manager's mailbox/Calendar for viewing offline so I also need to find a solution for them.
    Thanks
    Marc

It is the default behavior, but it also causes many undesired issues.  For instance, consider the following:
If I have a small mailbox, but I have several large shared mailboxes, when I create a profile, those shared mailboxes are added to my OST.  In your estimation, this is all well-and-good.  However, I work for a bank - we have many slow WAN connections
(one for each branch), and a large number of users across these connections.  If you download one large shared mailbox to your workstation, you will swamp the network connection for a very long period (we've had WAN outages caused by shared mailboxes
that lasted most of a day).  Add to this the fact that our tellers do not use the same computer daily, each time they go to a different computer, the cache needs to be totally refreshed.
I have C*Os in this company who have many admins responsible for their Calendar and Inbox.  These admins aren't always able to communicate before scheduling meetings.  Let's consider your situation - the C*O calendar is updated in real time when
changes are made.  Those up-dates are still not replicated real time to the delegates, so even in your best case, they will still not be up to date when they schedule meetings.  (And considering the current operation, they are as much as 15 minutes
behind if they all cache the C*O mailbox.)
We have many shared mailboxes in our organization.  Some of these have many users who have full access.  We have found several issues if these people cache the shared mailbox, such as:
Many times, these users will open an item to work on it, which marks the message as read so others will by-pass it.  We had one group who had six responses to a message because six separate users opened the message and responded.  After all, the
message showed as unread in their cache.
Folders created in the shared mailbox aren't visible to the other users, and may never appear (we've tried forcing folder updates as well as forced replication and nothing causes these new folders to appear).
Users commonly move items to sub-folders within the mailbox.  With cache enabled, we've had ticket opened because one person moved a message to their folder, but someone else moved it to their folder.  Since all were working from cache, the last
cache to update won this contest.
And finally, we have found that while Outlook does a good job of ensuring the cache of the primary mailbox is up-to-date, it doesn't update the shared mailboxes as readily if the workstation is busy, which for our exec admins is most of the time.
So the cache for the admins of our senior execs (which as I said above are multiple) was rarely updated on a timely basis.  And all of these admins are working on high-speed connections to the server, so it's not a WAN issue in these instances.
Turning off "Download shared folders" fixed all of these issues at the minor expense of taking longer to open items in the secondary mailboxes.

  • Face and Eye Tracking with LabView and Vision

    Hey all,
For my senior project I am trying to perform face tracking and eye tracking by using LabView and the Vision Development Module. Unfortunately I am new to LV and I'm drowning in a sea of links and tutorials so I was wondering if anyone here that has had experience performing similar tasks would be willing to help and point me in the right direction or provide examples. I bought two Logitech c525 webcams and hooked them up to my pc running LabView and Vision 2011. I was able to see images captured but that's as far as I've gotten with the tools. Any tips?
    Thanks,
    Alex.

  • Can we improve iOS 7 for senior citizens?

I support 20-30 people in the local community here and most are senior citizens.  iOS 7 has been a big miss with this group of people. We immediately used accessibility to turn off parallax and to fatten the fonts.  This helps, but they still object to the GUI animation and hip-hop color choices of the icons.  I suspect the Apple development team lacks a strong voice for the over-50 market and a few more mistakes like this "upgrade" could alienate them forever.  This is a shame, because they are the people with the most spend power to buy Apple products and influence younger generations (who buys the Christmas presents?).  After experiencing the wrath of these people, I will never again believe that Jonathan Ive was a genius in doing this design because he excluded a good percentage of the Apple market!  Dear Apple:  We need to take a good, hard look—beyond just accessibility—at representing the needs of more senior users of all of your products. The 50+ market segment appears under represented!

Thank you for the kind words. The best way to honor Steve Jobs is for the legions of loyal followers to continue to voice concerns when Apple strays from what makes them great.  Steve could tell his staff "no" when the innovation was off track.  My fear is this did not happen with iOS 7 and may be a problem with Mavericks, because it is leaving an important market segment behind. More senior users experience with Apple products is being degraded.

  • How to track the employee expense incurred by various employees

My Client want to track the employee expense incurred by various employees. We cannot use the Cost Centers as these are used by us for cost allocations for different business units.
In SAP ECC, there is some concept called internal order but how to manage in SAP Business one ? We are not using any HRMS add-on.
One alternative solution what we thought is ; Create employee as Vendor with seperate vendor group and restrict it in normal screens i.e. Purchase order/ AP Invoice

The execute immediate is unnecessary and should be removed.
    Then simply
    for i in 1..o_emp.count loop
    dbms_output.put_line(oemp(i).employee_id);
    dbms_output.put_line(oemp(i).first_name);
    end loop;

  • Manual kerning/tracking in Incopy looks different in Indesign

Does Incopy handle kerning and tracking differently than Indesign? Editors are
opening INDD file in Incopy and using manual kerning and tracking to copyfit. However, when the INDD file is opened in Indesign, the kerning and tracking appear not to have taken. Text is not flowing the same when opened in Indesign as it did when opened in Incopy.

After looking at the paragraph(s) in questions, I found that the editors had
applied MANY overrides to the style sheet in order to copyfit, including
various amounts of kerning, tracking, they changed the type size and
leading, they also changed the horizontal scaling. Yikes, It's a mess to say
the least. Of course their point is that whatever they do in Incopy, it
should look the same in Indesign. I think anything done to this type at this
    point could jeopardize it's stability.

  • Ideas for my Senior Project?

I'm a computer science student and I'm planning for my senior project next year.
I've proposed to do a power consumption meter application for Network Administrators. It's supposedly gonna gather power consumption information from the server and from the workstations within the local network.
I wanna do this kind of project because my university prefers projects to be somehow beneficial to the community and environment, and this tool will somehow help network administrators to keep track of their energy consumption and aid them in being more cost-efficient, not to mention environment-friendly, when it comes to networking.
The only programming language I know well is Java. But so far I dunno how I'm gonna do this project.
The only idea I have is that I have to be able to access hardware information, and also be able to access it over a network protocol. That way, I guess i can estimate power consumption from each of the hardware unit models used in the network.
Do you guys have any more ideas on how this project can be done?
    Thanks in advance.

You must have missed what I was saying:
Hardware interfacing is done in C/C++ or some other language other than Java. Java supports an interface to communicate with other routines developed in C/C++ or any language that will support a C/C++ calling structure. This interface is called JNI and is meant to allow your Java portion of your application to communicate/interface with your C/C++ portion of your application. JNI requires the "*.h" files created for you C/C++ project.
Other than being a lot of C/C++ code and a JNI component, your project should be fairly straight forward.

    Hi ,
In general Functional means, derive the funtional specification from the business requirement document. This job normally is done either by the business analyst or system analyst who has a very good knowledge of the business. In some large organizations there will be a business analyst as well as system analyst.
In any business requirement or need for new reports or queries originates with the business user. This requirement will be recorded after discussion by the business analyst. A system analyst analyses these requirements and generates functional specification document. In the case of BW it could be also called logical design in DATA MODELING.
After review this logical desing will be translated to physical design . This process defines all the required dimensions, key figures, master data, etc.
Once this process is approved and signed off by the requester(users), then conversion of this into practically usable tasks using the SAP BW software. This is called Technical. The whole process of creating an InfoProvider, InfoObjects, InforSources, Source system, etc falls under the Technical domain.
you work on a specific Application area in BW like say FI, MM, PP , etc. you are a BW functional. BW functional would not do any development but they are rather in charge of overseeing whether the specific application functionality is implemented or not. They rather look for the functionality and not for the underlying code.
Functional skills..Knowledge of taking user requirements, and designing the functional and technical specs according to the requirements, determine what customizations are required in the system.Such a person needs strong 'functional background' of the source system and the functional areas involved..example SD,Finance,MM,Utilities,Inventory Mgmt etc.
Sort of skills required by person at design and blueprint phase.
But if you are working across application areas then you are BW technical. They are the ones who do all the development like creating BW objects and activating them.
developing BW objects according to the design specs(FS and TS),data modeling skills,ABAP coding skills for routines and exits.Sort of skills required by person working in development phase of work.
Generally Technical people are expected to have some basic functional knowledge. But if they really have very good functional knowledge in 1 area then they are generally called "Techno-functional".
An SAP BW functional consultant is responsible for the following:
    Key responsibilities include:
    Maintain project plans
Manage all project activities, many of which are executed by resources not directly managed by the
project leader (central BW development team, source system developer, business key users)
Liase with key users to agree reporting requirements, report designs
Translate requirements into design specifications(report specs, data mapping / translation, functional specs)
Write and execute test plans and scripts
Coordinate and manage business / user testing Deliver training to key users
Coordinate and manage product ionization and rollout activities
Track CIP (continuous improvement) requests, work with users to prioritize, plan and manage CIP
An SAP BW technical consultant is responsible for:
-SAP BW extraction using standard data extractor and available development tools for SAP and non-SAP data sources. -SAP ABAP programming with BW
-Data modeling, star schema, master data, ODS and cube design in BW
-Data loading process and procedures (performance tuning)
-Query and report development using Bex Analyzer and Query Designer
-Web report development using Web Application Designer
    Hope this helps,

Hello, I am having the same problem. With some exceptions (and this is what's throwing me off) I can hear reverb and echo on tracks but not tracks themselves. I have tried adding echo/reverb to some of the muted tracks and I can hear these effects fine. Yet I have 2 tracks without any effects at all and I can hear those ones fine (there are 12 tracks in all).
