Tracking using Effects-Distort- Transform

Hello Everyone.
I have Tracked a footage inside mocha 3.1. Then I Exported the Tracking Data, and Paste it into my clip Inside After Effects.
I adjusted my clip, with Anchor Point, and I did go to Effects- Distort- Transform.
Inside my Effects Panel, I moved the Transform all the way up In top of Corner pin, and then I played with the Scale.
Is this the correct way to work with Scale after Tracking.

Using the effect/distort&transform/transform... menu

Mac 10.7.4//Illustrator CS5.1 (15.1.0)
1) I had group consisting of several objects
2) I used the subject effect to create two copies spaced horizontally apart
3) Now I need one more copy of the original further yet horizonally, selecting the original group and using the subject menu, or option dragging I get three copies, I just need one.
4) If I option drag to make a new copy (and two extras) and then in the appreaance dialog I edit the the transform fx to 0 copies, I end up with one copy appearing where the first copy was, but selecting shows all the selection blue outlines where the copied original should be (i.e. where I want this 3rd copy to be)   So I have ann object with blue selection anchor points but the object shows up far away horizontally.
I sure hope I have described this well enough for people to comment or help.

Selecting the isolated image on the right and the blue anchors show up to the left, The place where the blue anchors are are the place I dragged the original group to. The isolated image to the right is where the first copy from the subject command. Editing the blue achor points does cause the 'image' to the right to change.   I've tried quiting Illustrator and reoppening the file

I AM duplicating an object that already has the effect/distort&tranform/transform effect applied.   Problem is I want want the first two copies spaced 1" apart, then the third copy like 4" away from the original.
I can duplicate this on a new file, just using a square and circle grouped together.   Use effect/distort&tranform/transform effect to make two copies. Then option drag the original some where. In the appearnce window edit the transform effect to change to 0 copies. In this second group, is there anyway to eliminate the transform effect? (deleting removes the whole object)
(I did find you can click the eyeball and not see the effect, i.e. the copies).
In my simple file I could use the white arrow and click on the copies and delete them, but not in my work in progress.
So is there a way to remove an effect after its been applied?

How do you separate tracks using effects with patch mix

I step record using a oxygen 8 for my midi stuff and then I use a few tracks of real time audio .I just purchased a e-mu 0404 heard good and bad about it but it seems once you get past all the software issues then, its a quality sound.so far I have a great sound coming out. but cant figure out alot of things so I'll just ask one more. patch mix dsp has alot of cool effects. how do i get those and keep them separate in my recording.using mutiple tracks so if i want to put reverb on drums ,and phaze tyhe guitar, and have the ability to mix down using the separate tracks recorded with different effects.

What software was used to produce the .tiff images?
If it came from Photoshop on a Windows computer, open it again in Photoshop on a Mac.
Save a copy using the Mac compression settings.

Can you use the Vocal Transformer for Live Show?

Can you use the Vocal Transformer for Live Show? I have automations set up in my vocal track using the vocal transformer and would like my vocals to adjust accordingly while performing live. Is this possible to configure and if so, how do I set it up at the venue?

Vocal Transformer opens in MainStage. All controls in VT are visible & editable in MS. Don't set it up at the venue. Set it up in one or more patches before you leave your house. You will need up to twelve sliders or knobs plus one or two buttons on your controller to get the most out of it.

After reverting back to Garageband 6.0, I find that I still lack all the Garageband Effects (Distortion, Vocal Transformer, etc.). The Garageband 10 "AU" plug ins are there instead. I need help getting the old effects back.

For background: I lost my v6 because I had to reformat my whole hard drive. When I reformatted I lost GB and everything else I had. I downloaded GB (unaware of the awfulness that is v10) from the App Store. The fact that v10 does not have all my favorite and most used effects from v6, I uninstalled v10 and redownloaded v6 from my App Store Purchases. I load up v6 only to find that all the default effects are there for each instrument, but when I go to add an effect (i.e. Distortion, Vocal Transformer, Flanger, etc.), instead of the list of classic effects, there's the list of awful AU effects from v10. What gives?!

For me, the "Edit" panel in GB6.0.5 looks like this:
Are you saying, that the upper part with "GarageBand Effects" is missing?
Then check, what is installed in your System Library in the folder
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/
(the topmost "Library" folder on your Hard Drive.
You may need to restore the old GarageBand effects and Track settings files from your backup:
i.e look into the folder /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Plug-In Settings/
and restore the settings for Chorus, Flanger, Vocal Transformer, Tremolo, whatever effects you are missing.
And also look for missing files in "Track Settings" folder and "Sampler" folder.
What kind of backup do you have? If you have a Time MAchine backup, go back in time to the time before you upgraded to GB 10.

I don’t have this issue, but I am looking to learn about which parts of the old GarageBand can safely migrate to the new GarageBand 10.

Does anyone know how to record directly to a track using Logic's effects?

Hi there, does anyone know how to record directly to a track using Logic's effects? I know that it needs to run through a buss somehow but I am not quite sure how. Need to Di a bass and want to keep the levels down using a compressor (recording strait into a Mbox with Logic 8). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you route your Bass into a channel in Logic and put plugins/fx on the channel plus you have monitoring on (and monitoring off on your external mixer) - you can record while listening to the effected sound. However what is being recorded is the clean/raw audio - this is a good thing as you can later change your compression/fx settings - printing the effect at this early stage is normally avoided.

After Effects CC 3D Camera Tracker: Use only in Composition panel error help?

Hey guys, every time I drag the effect over into my clip, it says: 3D Camera Tracker: Use only in Composition panel. I tried right clicking my clip and clicking camera tracker, and it still says it. Can someone please help me?

Select your clip in the project panel, right-click or choose from the file menu "create new composition from selection," then in the timeline that is created from your video clip select the video later and run the camera tracker.

3D Camera Tracker and Effects

Hello Everyone.
I have noticed when using Tracking with 3D Camera Tracker, and having effects, It dose not work well. So what we have to do when using Camera Tracker and Effects ? Maybe using a Precomp and apply Effects, and Track ?
Also, I used The Foundry Camera Tracker many times, and I noticed the After Effects 3D Camera Tracker did a better job.

The proper workflow for most tracking is to track the original shot then use the tracking information to control something else. In the case of 3D camera tracking you apply the data to a camera and position a reference layer in the scene.
In some cases, where there is a lack of detail or the tracked object can be better defined by the addition of things like Color Correction effects you would apply the effect, pre-compose or pre-render to a lossless DI and then track the modified shot. Generally you would not use this modified shot in your production, you just want the tracking data.
On rare occasions there are compression artifacts or Intra Frame compression problems with the original footage that you will only get a successful track if you render the original to a lossless DI before tracking. You also need to render a DI if your original codec is not compatible with the tracker. Mocha is very sensitive to highly comprised formats and the Warp Stabilizer (a form of tracking) and AE's other trackers may also not like highly compressed originals either.
There is also one un breakable eternal law that no one has yet found a way to circumvent. Some shots will not track with one tracker but may track with another. IOW, you may not be able to do a 3D camera Track with the Foundry's Camera Tracker, or AE's Camera Tracker but you may be able to get a successful track with Syntheyes or MOCHA Pro, or other tracker software, but some shots cannot be tracked with any software. For example, an aerial shot of the ocean from an airplane cannot be 3D camera tracked because there is no fixed geometry in the shot. A shot of a wheat field with the wheat blowing in the wind many not be able to be tracked because there is no fixed geometry in the shot, but it may be able to be stabilized if the horizon is well defined.
If you apply any distortion effects or do masking or anything else the the shot will only track if you pre-compose but the effects may throw off the final result. If you must apply effects do them after you track the shot unless paragraph 2 applies. If your track fails and you are confident that there is enough fixed geometry in the shot to track then see paragraph 3.

Get output of layer after applied effects and transformations?

I know I can get the pixel data of a layer either by calling Sampling8Suite1()->subpixel_sample() or by directly acessing the layer's data field.
Both methods work fine, but give me only the pixels before any effects or transformations (scaling, rotation, etc.) have been applied on a layer.
Example: I add a red solid and on this red solid I add the effect "Fractal Noise".
On another layer I add my plugin which samples the input of the first layer. But it will never give me the fractal noise output, only the red solid pixels.
DId I miss something somewhere or is this not possible within AE?

in short, no such functionality is offered.
there are however some exceptions:
1. if you checkout your own layer, even at times other than the current, and you do it using the smartFX checkout_layer() funciton, then you get it post all effects previous to yours in the stack.
2. you can checkout any project item, so if you checkout a comp with only one layer in it, you get that layer post transform and effects.
3. write an artisan (the plug-ins that render comps such as "advanced 3D"). artisans get post effects/transform layers.

I'm trying to multi-track using an m-audio device, I can record my guitar fine. However, I want to create a new track so I can record an acoustic tambourine over the top. Instead it records the original guitar as well as tambourine? its really annoying

I've managed to record over the top of a guitar before and add diferent riffs and sounds but I've tried all of the settings but its still not working. Basically I want to record different tracks without it recording my previous guitar riffs as well. Help would really be appreciated.

Multiple tracks and effects not bouncing to mp3???

This might be a tough problem to diagnose due to the many possibilities as to what might be causing this...
I have multiple tracks and effects missing on a project [32 tracks] after bouncing to mp3. This has never happened to me before and I've been running Logic consistently for about a year now. I've tried bouncing the same project about five times now and there doesn't seem to be any consistency with regards to which tracks and effects go missing.
I do not have any of the tracks or effects that are missing after bouncing muted and nothing in the project is soloed. No problems with automation prior to bouncing either.

Which is why you're missing tracks... too many plugins, are you using Reverbs and Delays on a bus where possible? RAM could be a problem but the fact is you're over-taxing your system. It could be virtual instruments, it could be not being able to pull data off a drive fast enough... it could be using too many Reverbs as inserts when using one on a bus for several tracks would be more economical.
Try giving your system more time to work.
Increase the I/O Buffer to 512 or 1024...... try the Process Buffer at Large

"tracking error" effect - V/H/S movie

Hey there, I'm looking for a way to achieve the "tracking error" effect used in the segment "Tuesday the 17th" of "V/H/S" but I am not a AE pro at all, could someone give me a hint on how to do it? TIA!

I'm not sure what Tuesday the 17th is but there are some bad video pressets in AE. Give one of them a try:
Just select your layer and then click and drag one of these pre-sets to the layer. Press UU to reveal the properties you can play with and see what you get.
