Tracking VPN usage

Is there an snmp mib to track VPN usage for edge to edge or edge to host Vpn's on Asa or iOS firewalls? Down to individual tunnels?

Yeah thats where I got the 0.7GB and assume that it is the tial usage from the start of the month. I am hoping that someone can know of a usage program that you can install to on every PC on your netwrok and show toal usage, install of going around every PC and checking it. it isn't a hasle but there should be something to do this!
This won't account for other devices such as my xbox, phone, etc so thought I'd bounce a post or two on a few forums to see if anyone had a way of doing this. If I find an answer I will certainly share.

Tracking memory usage

I have run to a memory limitation problem with my MIDP 1 application. So I'm trying to track memory usage. However I found out that WTK memory monitor gives me different results then Runtime memory functions (by calling Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory()). In particular, Runtime.freeMemory shows less available heap dynamic memory than WTK memory monitor.
How can I then find out what is taking up the memory space that WTK memory monitor hides from me?
Also calling Runtime.freeMemory at the very begining at the start of my application shows me that there is roughly 90KBytes of heap memory in use. What is taking up this space?

Of course I did that. I wouldn't have gotten correct results with Runtime.freeMemory if I hadn't done that.

Is there a way to track Admin usage of ANM

Is there a way to track Admin usage of ANM (application network manager)? We have a few servers running the ANM application. Each ANM server points to/manages ACE blades (in the datacenter where the server resides). I would like to understand how much the ANM gui is used for each of the servers. I have looked through the GUI for some sort of report but wasn't able to find one. Cisco ACS has the "Adminstration Audit" report which shows all admin activity of the application per admin user (per ACS server). Is there an equivalent report for ANM?
In addtion I would like to know how much of the ACE config activity is spawned via CLI versus the ANM gui.

Possible for Solution Manger to track Transaction usage?

Dear Experts,
I want to track the usage of SAP transactions by the users in some systems over 1 year period. Based on some online reading, I can see the 2 options:
1. Via SM19 Security Audit
2. Via STAD (short term only)
However, with all the system monitoring features brought in by Solution Manager, is there a way to use Solution Manager to serve the same purpose?

Whilst not specific to solman, wouldn't ST03/ ST03N be a better alternative and increase the retention period from 3 months to 13 or or so?

When Apple tracks your app usage for your battery is it able to track the usage of apps you've deleted off of your phone?

Ive downloaded aops that I've ised but deleted. Is Apple able to track the usage of that apo that has been deleted?

Usage data of individual apps is not regularly sent to Apple and you can simply opt out of sending any diagnostic or crash data. And a deleted app certainly cannot send usage data as it is not available on the device to be used, nor can an absent app crash and generate a log report.

Is there an app to track internet usage of other apps?

I know you can check your overall usage from your phone. But is there an app which tracks how much I use on specific apps, GPS, Safari, Youtube etc.?

There are some apps in the app store that track data usage, but I don't believe they can track by app, only whether it's cellular data or WiFi. But do a search anyway.

Tracking internet usage-Flash AS3

I am facing a problem how to track data usage (i.e download & upload rate) as well as to keep track of total size of downloaded content right from the establishment of net connection.Clearly explaining we have developed an application where we want to display internet usage..It would be great if someone would help in this issue....

I'll definitely be updating my browser as well. However, Lawrence, I did find during my research that bluecava DOES NOT operate based on cookies. It uses your IP address to consistently track patterns of behavior, even
within multiple devices of one household, so that deterring the tracking is not as simple as turning off cookies to a site. (See screenshot below from bluecava.com)
If you go to the bluecava site's privacy policy, you can actually opt-out, however, blogs have criticized bluecava for not explaining exactly what happens when a user opts-out. It may be beyond our control...

Tracking VPN user connectivity

Is there an easy way on the ASA to track user connectivity statistics? I have found that I can get a syslog record when a user connects / disconnects but am looking for an elegant way to track a bit more. On the old Concentrator there used to be a log entry when a user disconnected that gave things like time connected and the amount of data transferred. I would like to figure out a way to duplicate this on the ASA and maybe even add the IP addressed they received from the DHCP pool? I though this might be part of accounting but that appears to be more for radius integration than keeping track of user usage.
Thoughts or suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Cisco Security Manager product collects and stores such information (along with a lot of other things). It's a pretty hefty product though and probably more than you want to spend for doing just that one thing.
You can use a general purpose SNMP management tool like PRTG to grab all the data as well. I know it has out of the box sensors for Cisco ASA VPN connections and users. I'm not sure if it also collects the amount of data transferred.

Tracking Memory usage on iOS using the Stats class

I've been checking memory usage on an app I'm developing for iOS using the Stats class https://github.com/mrdoob/Hi-ReS-Stats ( http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/mobile/WS4bebcd66a74275c3-315cd077124319488fd-7fff.html#WS 948100b6829bd5a61637f0a412623fd0543-8000).
I added the Stats class to my project and redeployed and, yikes, memory usage reported in Stats creeps up (pretty slowly) even when there's nothing happening in the app (just showing a loaded bitmap).
To try and track down the issue I created a project with a test class that extends Sprite with just this single call in the constructor :-
addChild( new Stats() );
I deployed it to the device to check that it didn't gobble any memory.
But I was Suprised to watch the memory usage creep up and up (to approx 5) before some garbage collection kicked in and takes memory back down. I left it running and then it crept up again to over 7.5 this time before being kicked back down to just below 3.
So 2 related questions that I'd appreciate any feedback/observations/thoughts on :-
1 - Is this normal (i.e. memory creeping up when there's nothing other than Stats in the project) ?
2 - What is the best way to monitor memory usage within an app ? Is Stats good enough - is Stats itself causing the memory usage ?

My conclusions are :-
- If you run an app and leave it idle, memory usage gradually creeps up (presumably as memory is being used to perform calcs/refresh the display etc)
- Periodically the garbage collection kicks in and memory is brought back down
- This cycle could be in excess of 5 mins
Run with your real app and memory will increase and be released much more rapidly/regularly.
- It's probably worth performing initial checks by running on your desktop to iron out any initial problems

I am trying to find an app that will track the usage on my iphone with times and dates to see what was accessed on my phone when I was away from it and what if anything was done eg deleted messages viewed facebook etc?

Hi! I am trying to find an app that with track everything that is done on my phone with times and dates? im not really woried about call usage and texts sent I need it to view what has been done - for example:
Messages received
Messages deleted
Facebook viewed
Messages viewed
Internet viewed and what?
I just have an issue with someone using my phone - I used to track this through double clicking the home button and roughly knowing in what order I had been on things but they have sussed this one!

No way to do that on a non-jailbroken iPhone. Why don't you just passcode protect your phone? That way no one but you can use it...unless they know your passcode.

Track Asset Usage by Projects

We need to track our Fixed Asset usage and profitability. We are a Project centric organisation and need to track which assets are being used by which projects and allocate the asset and it's maintenance cost to projects. We then have to review the utilisation/profitability of this asset by comparing the cost to the revenue generated by it. We use Oracle Projects, Accounts Payables and Fixed Assets modules. Can we achieve this using the current modules. Is there a specific module in Oracle EBS which performs this function.

Under system information there is usually some sort of computer id or name but even if I could record user name of the person that loged in that would work to. I don't need to know for sure who did or didn't open it, just a general idea of where it has been.

Track AAR Usage in CDR records

Hello,
Is there any way to track in CDR records the usage of AAR. whereas I can run a report to show usage of AAR?
I recently set up a client with AAR and they are asking if there is a way to see how many calls are using AAR versus calls staying On Net within the cluster.

I have found that there is a redirect reason code field in a CDR. A value of 129 is used for AAR but I see no way to search for CDR's by redirect reason codes. Any Ideas?

Optimize for WAN / VPN usage

any tips how to best optimize/tweak either NW servers or the clients
to gain performance over a WAN tree ??
All together, 5 sites, 1 central location were most requested data is.
central = 100 Mbit
2 other sites = 10 and 100 Mbit
2 last sites = 4 Mbit
Issue is; testing with "pureip" transfers from client to client over
the VPN WAN ( Astaro's) performance is good and does use the bandwidht
but,, client usage like copying to or from the servers over the WAN
link doesn't seem to use the bandwidht as much..,,,
Current settings on the NW servers are;
nss /nocopybuffersonxlatch
set tcp sack option = on
set tcp delayed acknowledgement = on
set tcp minshall algorithm = on
Set TCP Large Window Option = On
set tcp number of preallocated pcbs = 2048
set tcp defend land attacks = on
set tcp nagle algorithm = on
set Maximum Pending TCP Connection Requests = 4096
set tcp ip maximum small ecbs = 65534
set ncp tcp receive window = 32768
set largest udp packet size = 32768
set tcp path mtu black hole detection and recovery = on
What I've tested is adding the last one, mtu black hole detection
and tested also by disabling(off) for minshall, delayed ack,,etc,,
Can't say Im really seeing any real difference
Any ideas ?
All networks are 1GB's networks/switched, bandwidht usage is NOT big
for anything else besides wan traffic.

App to track App usage?

I'd like to arrange my Apps in order of most used. Let's say I have Compass on the front page but I only used it once in the last month and Maps is on the last page but I use it every week. It would make more sense for Maps to be toward the front. Does anyone know of an application that will track and record the usage of applications on the iPhone and/or iPad?

Trying to bring a dead thread back to life.
I think an app like this would be very helpful. As users put more and more apps on there phones, from time-to-time you can do some housecleaning by streamlining what is on your first page versus what is on your third or fourth page, or what is buried in a folder, or if you just need to delete it.
Having an app like this is more about turning down the noise, and being able to focus on what helps you be the most productive not only for work, but for your family life and interest as well. Sure people probably have some idea what they click on the most, but it is the apps that may be every other day or once or twice a week that you have no idea if you are really "using" or if they are just a time drain for you.
I say, Apple, please make this app so knowbody has to worry about your terms. Have it keep a tally of how often we are using all our apps, and for how long each app is getting our attention.
