Trackpad connection lost for no reason

Good Morning, I have found my trackpad to have a mind of its own...it will lose it's connection while I am using it...
and I have to turn it on again...it takes a moment to reboot. It has done this often, even with new batteries just added..
Could a cordless mouse on the table cause it to go awry?
Appreciate some feedback here...I have a trackpad out of control lol
my best mdm samm

You asked if a cordless mouse could make a problem like this occur. It seems unlikely, but there is a simple test you could do to make sure - turn off the mouse and don't use it. If the trackpad issue goes away, there is your answer. If not, well at least you have eliminated one possibility.

  • Trackpad & Connection Lost Issue

I'm not sure whether this post belongs in the connectivity area or this one, but since I'm not trying to connect anything I think it belongs here. My laptop started to concern me today as my trackpad started to act up. I have been experiencing episodes where the trackpad pretty much shuts down. I can still move the cursor with it, but I cant click on anything on the screen. I can still use the keyboard to do commands in MacOS so its not my computer freezing. It can last for anywhere in between 30 seconds and 3 minutes. It is fixed automatically by the screen showing the picture of a mouse and saying connection lost like there is a wireless mouse trying to connect to the laptop. There are no wireless devices, anyone know whats going on?

First of all I'd make sure that bluetooth is turned off (use System preferences/Bluetooth to do this). It may be that a nearby bluetooth capable device (like many mobile phones) is causing interference.
If this doesn't fix it try a PRAM reset. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
If this doesn't fix it , then try an SMC reset http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
If still no joy its is possible that a hardware issue is involved.

  • Trackpad connection lost

    Hi All,
Just upgraded to Lion, installing over snow leopard and my trackpad which worked fine with Snow Leopard will not hold the connection under Lion.
It shows it connecting then a few second later it says connection lost.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

The several times I have started, being away from the office much, the trackpad goes connected to unconnected for some time. I just use the mouse in the mean time.
Then after I left the office for a while, it just connects.
I have nothing else that is bluetooth in the office, though there are severa WiFi devises.

  • Connection lost for minutes

    Hello, We got the wrt160n
Connected is a wired Pc and wireless laptop.
It works fine, but sometimes the connection on the PC is lost for a couple of minutes.( Wireless laptop is online, putting it on or offline has no effect)
    What could be the cause?
Before the wrt160n is a cable modem . The internet connection is with a dynamic IP configuration.
Second question: How can I check the settings in the router , made in the wizard previously? I don't know how and no documentation available
    Thanks

If you loose connection to your Wired PC you can adjust your Router's MTU Settings to avoid this -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1350 and click Save Settings...
Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
If it does not work try to download and update the drivers for your wired adapter...
    2. To check the setting in the router you need to access the router using it's default address 192.168.1.1...

  • 903 SessionEJB AM: pooled connection lost for new txn

    Hello,
    Our environment: JDev 9.0.3.2 / OC4J 9.0.3 / Oracle 9.0.1.1.
JClient application works with Application module deployed as Session EJB, 'ejb-location' of the datasource is used.
    CASE:
After new transaction is created in OC4J (commit/rollback from client), next connection-oriented action (jdbc command in OC4J) makes request on new connection from the datasource. Currently opened connection for the AM becomes lost.
Reproducing: test AM EJB (scott.dept), commit/rollback changes and re-query from database. OC4J should be running with -Dtransaction.debug=true for getting a trace.
Such a behavior makes troubles for JClient OLTP application where session timeouts are disabled - db-sessions number is constantly increased. Special efforts (not so easy) should be done in the connection pool to avoid this increasing.
I'd like to know if this's a desired logic (and I missed something in configuration) or just a current error ?
If latter, could we hope that this will be fixed in JDev 9.0.3.3 ?
    Thanks for any comment.

  • All contacts lost for no reason on iPhone 4S. How do I get them back?

I have lost my contacts on my iPhone 4S. I was in my home using it for a game, when I went to make a call and realized all of my favorites didn't have names, only listed them by their numbers. I went into all my contacts and nothing was listed. I have my phone backed up. However I'd rather not just fix the issue but also know why this happened. Thank you in advance.

This might be because that your game update or other software automatic update killed your contacts. You should make a frequency and regular backup for your iPhone so that all the data could be renewed to your backup data. Whenever you lost iPhone data, you have a choice to restore from iTunes. That is easy and free.
However, this is not the end of the world if you don't have any backup of your iPhone contacts, you can recover contacts with iPhone data recovery software, but that need you to pay for it. So making a backup is a good habit.  Do you know how to use iPhone data recovery software to recover iPhone contacts without backup? If not, you can search in YouTube to get step-by-step guide to recover iPhone contacts from iPhone without backup. This is such an example: How to Recover iPhone Contacts - Step-by-step Guide.

  • IPad Air - Apps lost for no reason

Last night I lost 30 or so apps in one go.
I was doing nothing unusual, just installing FIFA 14.  The app itself seemed to install ok, and appeared as if it was installed when I went to my recent purchases, giving me the run option. But its was not to be seem, and in no folders.
I did a reset and this then was the case for 30 or more other apps! As above looking in purchased as if they could run, but nothing happen when I pressed run.
In setting is told me I had 93 apps, but it was clear they weren't there when you went looking.
I've ended up deleting all and reverting to a back up for the other day!
Anyone else had apps go bye bye ?

  • Magic trackpad bluetooth Connected / Connection Lost

    Hi there,
I have a Mac Pro 2010 (Not macbook pro). I use a magic trackpad alongside a wacom intuos.
My trackpad has been displaying connected / connection lost for quite some time now and its rather annoying.
This doesn't happen after sleep, not does it take 60s to kick in (like some reports I've seen). It starts immediately and continues forever.
I check back on these forums periodically to see if anyone has had my exact problem and no dice.
Here is what I have tried:
    • Reboot
    • Reset PRAM
    • Reset SMC by disconnecting power cable from tower
    • Replacing batteries, changing battery brand
    • Checking connectors for signs of corrosion on batteries and in the trackpad. (they're clean)
    • Running trackpad a friend's macbook air (it worked and maintained connection)
    • Running on another laptop on the same desk as the Mac Pro (maintained connection – ruled out local interference)
It seems to have been since Yosemite, but not instantaneously. I am loath to reinstall the OS and quite frankly have seen that this has not been a step towards fixing it for anyone!
Any new fixes anyone has, I'd love to hear them! Also my trackpad is personalised. Can i reset it? Perhaps that would fix it!
    Thanks

To uninstall Chrome was no problem because if you reinstall it you lose nothing, unlike with some apps.
But this link with Yosemite seems to go on and on and no-one has come up with an answer.  I don't think Bluetooth is the fault but it may be connected (forgive the pun) to a service or app you have.  As I said, I have neither Yosemite or Chrome so I can only offer educated guesswork rather than practical help.
This would not be a solution but if you could download and apply Etrecheck, it may show something in your system.  This link should take you there.   Then copy / paste it here in this thread.

  • Wireless connection drops out for no reason

I have a macbook with 10.4.11 update. I had my macbook since october last year and had no problems. About two months ago now i have this problem were my wireless connection drops for no reason, my modem/router shows everything is working normal with its lights on the front panel.
My setup is, motorola sbg900 on a cable 80000mbps wireless network, firewall off on my modem, firewall on on my mac (its always been on), Playstation 3(wireless), PC(wireless, but is switched off), another pc which is wireless and also off, nintendo wii off as well, and a baby monitor.
I have a feeling its nothing to do with my setup(except for maybe port forwarding) but am wondering if it is an update issue bug that needs to be fixed(thats what im hoping).
One other thing, when my connection drops in the menu bar and i select it to see which networks are availale, my network motorola8566 is not visible, another 'motorola9522' and 'wireless' network is?My prefered networks dont list any of these in system preferences. Then all of a sudden those other networks dissapear, my network is reshown and i can select it no propblems. What gives? Any help would be great, thanx in advandce

I have the same issue with my wireless connection being dropped. I have the most recent version of leopard 10.5.2 . The other macbook in this household also has 10.5.2 and has no problems with dropped connections. I tried resetting the pram which helped at first until I used my macbook on the battery alone the problem started to reoccur. Help?!?

  • Server connection lost when connected via WAP200

    Hi,
I have a small Windows SBS 2011 network where two WAP200 (hw-ver 1.0 sw-ver 2.0.6.0-ETSI) provides WLAN access to the network for my Win7 clients. If I connect one of the Win7 clients via one the the WAP200, open a pdf-file and leave it for one hour, and then try to scroll the document, then Acrobat reports an IO-error after 20 seconds. This does not occur if I connect directly to the LAN or via a 3Com AP instead. Similar problems occur if I open Outlook or IE.
It seems like a SMB2 session is created when I open the pdf-file, and that this session is lost for some reason. Is there some PM that kicks in and makes the client inaccessible from the server so that it considers the client gone ?
    Regards
    MatsW

    Hi Jeffrey,
There's definitely something fishy with the WAP200. I can see the following: If I take a network trace on both my server and the client attached via WAP200 then I can see that suddenly ARP Requests from server doesn't reach the client. This lasts for about 5 minutes when traffic starts to pass thru.
So then I started "ping client -n 10000000' on the server to make sure I had a continous flow of traffic between client and server. Now the problem doesn't occur. But what is odd is that I can see that another client which is attached to the same WAP200 suddenly stops responding to ARP Requests, just as the first client when it didn't have ping running.
This may explain why the SMB2 session fails because if client doesn't respond to ARP Requests (because WAP200 drops connection for 5 minutes) then eventually the file handle is closed.
Do you have some suggestion on how to debug this ?
    Kind regards
    Mats

There is no direct method other than the results of transmitting/receiving data. If you get an error 66 that would indicate that the connection has been closed by the other side. However, you will not get this until you try to send/receive data. If you are receiving data continuously you can looki for a timeout error (error 56). You may also get an error 52. The end result is that you need to check the error codes and then take whatever action you deem necessary.

Hello, for some reason i'Ve lost the ability to access my ipad, although i know the password, the ipad now is deactivated and telling me to connect to iTunes, i've done so but itunes can not access it anyway.
Please tell me what should be done to retrieve my photos on ipad before reformatting it.

Unless you've done anything to change it, Google keeps every email that ever passes through their server in your All Mail folder/mailbox/label. Even if you delete stuff, they hold onto it, there. You have to go out of your way to actually delete anything permanently.
