Trackpad does not respond after a second when using Keyboard

This problem is still persistent even after setting the SmartSense sliders to "off" and the Option in Mouse and Touchpad Settings to "No Delay". After researching online, some users in other blogs recommended changing the values in the registry, specifically the string called "PalmKms" to 0 value. Is this recommended, or is there another solution? I would rather not change values in my registry, as I do not know how it will affect my computer.

I ran for the memory diagnostics as it showed the error with video card error. My NVDIA graphics card is not working properly. Do you think that could be a problem?I am running on Windows 7 64 bit computer. It also complains about the incompatibility with 64 bits.

Cursor does not change to a circle when using the eraser.
I'm sure it must be a tick box somewhere.
Its always been ok previously.

I had this same problem and was searching for answers. I also prefer using a circle instead of crosshairs. I hope you've figured it out by now, but, if you haven't, here is the answer (I am using Elements 9, but, it should work for other versions I think):
1. Open up Elements Editor, Click on Edit, Click on Preferences, Click on Display & Cursors.
2. Under Painting Cursors, select Full Size Brush Tip
3. (optional) - if you want crosshairs within your circle, then also select Show Crosshair in Brush Tip.
4. Click ok.
Now use the brush, and it should have a circle to use.
P.S. Sometimes if you have your Caps Lock key on, that removes the circle as well.

Half of my trackpad does not respond to my finger after getting wet.

I have looked through the forum but I haven't seen anyone facing 'exactly' the same problem as mine. Most of the topics I have seen is about erratic movements of curser or unable to click with the trackpad. Mine problem (at least half of it) is a little different.
I am using a Macbook Pro 13" Late 2011 and have these problems regarding my trackpad:
1) Left half of the trackped is not responding to my finger. I cannot move the cursor. However, clicking works well on these area. But I cannot double click (equivalent to right click on a mouse).
2) The right half also has some problems. "Offen" I experience erratic movements and the cursor jumps to the top of the screen and "sometimes" it does not respond to my finger just like the left half; I cannot move the curser.
I have seen these symptoms since this morning (8 hours ago). I poured water directly to my trackpad last night and I dried it with napkins. Since I was watching movie during that time, I do not know how the trackpad worked after exposure to water.
Since I am out of town, I can send my macbook to service next week. Till then, is there anything I can do to save my trackpad or minimise the damage to other components inside my macbook due to moisture?

It sounds encouraging, as I said, the effects of water are unpredictable but you may have got away with it. I would be inclined to keep a close eye on the situation and make sure you have all your files, photos and music backed up. Then at the first sign of any trouble have the machine checked out professionally.

BC4j/JSP Application not responding after some time - when deployed on 9ias BC4j/JSP

We are using BC4j/jsp application on 9ias. The application is not responding
after some time. We have installed 9ias on PIII(384MB RAM). We tried to accesses
with 10 users, and server is not responding to BC4J/JSP application.
However the server could able to publish the JSP pages with standerad JDBC code even after that.
Please....help us.........

There is currently no mechanism for reducing the connection pool size after a period of high activity. Recently this has been frequently requested and as such will be implemented in the next production release.

Illustrator 25% off the time "program not responding" for 35 seconds when network is active

My Client have 4 computers, all win7, running cs 5 or 6, the newest the cloudbased version.
The problem has been sinc upgrading from cs3.
"Program not responding" for 35 seconds, before loading the file on 1/4 of time.
It is not on specific files, and no patton.
it does'nt matter if the files are on network or saved local on Harddrive.
the sice does'nt matter.
Only switching of nic and wifi stops the problem.
I did try downloading other files (not made by my client), from the net, they do not trigger the problem.
What else then the Files can bee the problem? can anyone test my files to see what is wrong?

I have a very similar problem with my CS6 Ai on our company network. I sometimes use Illustrator for image heavy documents less than 10 pages. These have a lot of placed images.
It will freeze, say "not responding" and curser switches to blue spinner. Then about 15 sec later it unfreezes and I can work for another 60 sec or so, then repeat freeze, blue spinner, etc. Very annoying. When i unplug the network LAN cable the problem goes away and I sail along. I have tried relocating the Ai file to my desktop (not sure about the images).
Waiting on any feedback or help, our IS guys are getting stumped. I could switch to InDesign for this work but not my preference.

Finder DOES NOT Respond after Restart, Or Shut Down

I am running an iMac G5 on OS X 10.5.4, After a shut down or restart, Finder does not respond, The only thing on my desktop is My HD and Chosen wallpaper. I can launch Apps from the Dock, but not folders from the dock, Not Downloads folder, Documents Folder, Just Applications, which is weird because they are in finder too! Mail starts up when I log in so I can access Mail, I use Firefox, When I click on it in the dock it starts up no problem, after a while Finder does respond, I get all my icons back on my desktop and can access folders. I have Cleared System Cache, Browsers Cache, I ran Disk Utility and REPAIRED Disk permissions. No help. Short of RE-Installing Mac OS X, What Should I do? Is this happening to anyone else??

I have tried the following: deleting the com.apple.finder.plist, deleting the com.apple.sidebar.plist, I have reinstalled the 10.5.5combo update, I have deleted all of my photoshop preferences (possible solution from another thread), and it is still doing it!

Satellite A65 freezes and does not respond after adding of RAM

My laptop Satellite A-65 has been upgrade from 512 MB RAM to 1024 RAM. It recognized additional memory without any problem (as it should be according to manual).
But unfortunately after 1 day it begun suddenly stops, pictures on screen freezes, laptop does not respond at all - only reset (pushing and holding power button) can help. some times laptop is able to work 2 or 3 hours, but then again stops.
Memory place cover is rather hot, fan very often work uninterruptibly. so i can't decide whether problem is in new memory card or not enough cooling or might be in changing of BIOS version (or BIOS setttings) and might be memory becomes full and does not clear itself properly (last remark was found on some forumes).
Experts, help to find exact reason especcially if u had similar problem.

Im not expert but I would recommend removing the new memory module and let run the notebook only with the standard memory module.
If the notebook will not hang and will not freeze then its a very clear case for me.
Either the second module is not compatible or faulty.
In my opinion you should use branded modules like Kingston for example. The quality is much better as a no-name module.

I have a Mac Book Air and firefox froze and my trackpad does not respond what should I do?

On the top left corner when any new window is opened (the red, yellow, and green) the maximize, minimize and close buttons, the red button isn't active however a rectangle separate window opened up with just two options: Cancel and OK- the OK button is flashing blue for my pointer to click on, when I do it doesn't respond and I can't open a new window to firefox because it won't let me, I tried restarting my computer but it won't let me because that application is still running it says to close it first and than I can restart however it still does not respond, so whats going on?

When the application deployed by BC4J/JSP not responding, does the sample JSP application still works? i.e. does any other application respond? Does 1 user respond? Is the database source (JDBC), running Oracle 8.1.7? What is the platform running the database (e.g. local NT database)?

Canon LiDE 100 does not respond after wake from sleep

I have a Canon LiDE 100 flatbed scanner. I constantly put my iMac to sleep and only ever shut it down once every few weeks.
When the computer wakes from sleep the scanner does not respond. Image Capture lists the scanner in the device list but reports the following error;
"An error occurred whilst communicating with the scanner"
I have to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in for it to work (or restart the computer, both always work).
Since I only moved to the Macintosh in July I have no idea how to uninstall drivers to give myself a fresh start and the scanner does not come with an uninstall utility.
Any suggestions on how to fix this little problem?

I am going to respond to my self and say I am nuts.
Canon does not seem to have any uninstaller for this scanner on their site:

Which is rather odd since they have installers. this is different from most of their other older scanners. But if you just plugged in our scanner and things worked in OSX, which it should have, then you should be OK.
However I can confirm that others see this issue (like my dad) and here is the official Canon response to the issue:

hi. i have been reading post on the 'user does not respond' and i still do not understand. i don't know how to check my ports and how to change them. all of them have been pretty technical. please, is there anyone that can explain it in layman's term?

After choosing a jpg for upload, the "Upload File" button on the organization's receiving site of does not respond. The second problem: it's impossible to highlight more that one file at a time.

Clicking the first file, holding down shift and clicking the last file doesn't work. I've tried all manner of command, control, shift combos without success. This one-at-a-time attachment problem also happens in web mail. Are these two issues related? Thanks for non-techie solutions for both issues. I have Safari 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) and Leopard.

I was trying to upload 3 jpgs to the submissions page of a visual arts website. I could only highlight one jpg at a time in the "Choose File" option, and then the "Upload File" button of the submissions page would not respond.
It's an ongoing problem with this site (I'm the only one with this issue and there are a lot of submissions). I have to send the images as email attachements to the administrator of the site. When doing this via webmail, I still the one attachment at a time problem, but the images get to the administrator. Thanks for helping.

Wiki does not respond after a few days

I have set up the wiki server on a newly bought mac mini (winter 2011) running latest version of Snow Leopard. Authentication is performed through remote Open Directory and Active Directory servers. No third party software installed.
Everything works just fine for a few days (1-2 weeks), but then the server starts to respond VERY slowly. This looked like a memory problem to me (busy processor, low ram, etc), but a quick look at the Activity Monitor shows me nothing's wrong there.
I can reboot and it will go on for another few days, but I wonder if this does not hide another problem.
I'm pretty sure this is a wiki related issue, because we have identical machines, but the ones without web services run smoothly without need for an occasional reboot. Also, I did many fresh install, and the problem always came back.
Anyone has experienced something similar?

This is quite a common problem. The usual cause is inadvertent use of the "mute speech" command via the Trackpad Commander.
To toggle VO speech on and off using the Trackpad, tap twice with three fingers simultaneously.
Otherwise, you can summon up the VoiceOver command menu using VO-H-H, type "PAR" (French for "SPEech" and press Return.
For the Zoom problem, open System Preferences —> Universal Access and make sure you tick the "Zoom follows the keyboard focus" checkbox.
You might also want to experiment with the Screen Image radio buttons lower down the window:
• Continuously with pointer (some people find this makes them seasick);
• Only when the pointer reaches an edge (usually preferred); and
• So the pointer is at or near the center of the image (some people like this).

My ipad 2 does not respond after upgrade to ios 8

I tried to upgrade my Ipad 2 to ios 8, which has been said to be copatible. During the upgrade process the Apple logo apeared on the black screen and has stayed there everysince. The ipad does not react on a hard reset and is not identified on connecting to a computer, Apple or PC. Screen stays on untill the battery has been emptied. Apple Store in Munich could not help me and told me guarantee has run out, there is nothing they can do, than to offer me a new Ipad 2 for 200 €. I can not understand, that an upgrade can "destroy" my property.

I had a problem connecting to my exchange server. It turns out that Exchange will only allow ten devices to be partnered to your account at a time. Apparently I have a problem with new phone.(Attending the 12 step program now for treatment.) I had this message in my inbox when I logged in to check the server. "You have 10 phone partnerships out of the maximum allowed 10 partnerships. After you reach the maximum, you can't create additional partnerships until you delete existing ones from your account. To do so, sign in to Outlook Web App, click Options > Phone > Mobile Phones, and delete any unused partnerships." I followed the instructions and delted all the old accounts...problem solved.
