  • Trackpad Not Working Properly Following Upgrade to Windows 7

I recently did an in-place upgrade from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit on my Lenovo T61p. I also updated all the Thinkvantage drivers and software and have been checking daily for additional updates. Following the upgrade I noticed that the trackpad is not working properly. When I'm typing an email message in Outlook 2007, the trackpad and buttons will not work in the body of the message. I can click on the icons in the ribbon, but nothing works in the body of the message. Same behaviour in MSWord 2007 and Excel 2007. I uninstalled and re-installed both the Ultranav drivers and software utility, using the Windows 7 32 bit versions posted on the Lenovo website, without any improvement.
I contacted Microsoft technical support and spent an hour on the phone with a Windows 7 technician. He concluded that the problem was with the trackpad driver and was Lenovo's responsibility to address. I then contacted Lenovo technical support and the technician said there was nothing he could do to help me. Disappointing response from both organizations. I've reverted back to the Windows PS2 mouse driver for the time being.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

In fact, the problem could be due to the installation of Client Security Solution 8.3 for Windows 7 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73785). It has been discussed here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-7-Discussion/CSS-8-3-64-bit-WIN7-Office-2007-Mouse-issues/td-p/1...

  • Trackpad not working properly mbp 13 inch 2011 (early)

My trackpad suddenly stopped working well more precisely is being erratic. When I move my finger across the pad the pointer is not moving and when it does move there seems to be a lag. The gestures are not working properly etc and the pointer would move on its own not by much but a little bit. I have tried SMC and PRAM and that has not helped. I attached an external mouse and was having problems with moving the pointer, however when I selected disable trackpad when external mouse is attached the external mouse worked just fine. All of my software is up todate I am running OSX 10.6.8.  I hope I do not have to get another track pad the laptop is about 7 months old and I have an apple care plan but I am out of the US for the next couple of months so I am looking for fix I can do myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am sure you have tried what Apple says in this article.
But cleaning the trackpad with a damp but not wet micro fiber cloth might help
until Apple Care can take care of the problem.

  • FN keys not working properly on Thinkpad S440 since W10 upgrade

    Hi there.
Since I've upgraded to W10, I'm encountering several problems with the keyboard. Although I've installed every possible driver and tool (like the hotkey integration tool), the F1 till F12 keys don't seem to work properly. Some of them do though, the Mute key mutes, but the indicator LED is always on, the volume up/down keys work and the brightness keys work. The rest however, do not. The strange thing is, I own a Thinkpad Bluetooth keyboard with trackpoint, and on this keyboard, all functions work fine! I hope this will be fixed soon (since it's in the list of supported laptops for W10, I hope I can actually expect an update). Regards, Thomas

Little bump, I managed to fix part of the problem, the LED can be turned off again. I downloaded the Windows 10 version of the Hotkey Features Integration Utility (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds029026), this one fixed that problem. However, the rest of the keys like search and settings, still are not working (while they do work on the Bluetooth Thinkpad keyboard).

  • Magic Trackpad not working properly since upgrade

Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, my Magic Trackpad hasn't been working properly. Specifically, the 4 finger gesture to switch between full-screen apps and the 2 finger gesture to open Notifiction Center stop working after awhile. From what I can find out it seems to be connected to my iMac going into sleep mode. I have a feeling this is a bug that Apple needs to fix. Besides going through Restart or into Terminal Mode, is there anything else that can be done?

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I still have to restart the computer to do this and as soon as it goes to sleep again, I'll have the same problem.

    MBP OSX Yosemite 10.10.2
The following trackpad gestures no longer working since latest update - four finger mission control, app expose, launchpad, show desktop, two finger scroll in safari (although works in chrome).
The same symptoms on BT trackpad as on the internal trackpad.

System Preferences > Point & Click
Try turning off three finger dragging and then turning it on after  testing.

  • My keyboard does not type at all and the trackpad not working properly

    Hello everyone,
Today I realised that my computer does not type any letters at all and everytime I try to write something the trackpad works only as if I was pressing the right button (two fingers). After a while the trackpad starts to work again as it should. I have noticed that the trackpad does this when I try to write something. Don't know what to do and this macbook air is quite new and I cannot surf on the internet, write essays and I cannot log in with my password. Sometimes the only letter that works is the "o" and the others do not show up and it makes a sound. I have realised that if I press some of the other letters it can also erase some of the text already there.
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind regards.

It sounds like you have a stuck key or some other malfunction.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Trackpad not working properly with google Chrome

Today, my trackpad has ceased to scroll up and down pages in Google Chrome.  It works fine in safari and with applications, but today for no apparent reason it has stopped being able to scroll the Google Chrome browser.  Wierd!

There is a history of problems with Google Chrome, Lion and to some degree, trackpads.   You should ask your self how much you need Google Chrome which at best absorbs memory at a rate of knots.   Look at 'More like this" to your right >>>
Many people take Chrome for the extentions available but again, from my experience, they are not always tested with Macs and conflict readily with each other.
Do some digging via Google and our forum search pages and you may be inclined to stick to Safari.

  • Blackberry trackpad not working properly!

just got a replacement phone for my blackberry curve 3g 9330 now the trackpad on it is going apewire! everytime i try to scroll the trackpad moves by itself left and up all the time to the point where i cant even text cuz it also changes my characters, anyone know whats going on and how i can fix it/

    Hi, all,
Trackpad problems are very few and far between on the Blackberry since RIM got rid of the trackball.  However, I'm sure problems with trackpads can occur.  I would guess the problem with the trackpad can be with either one of two things:  software error or a general hardware error with the trackpad.  In the latter case, I would recommend getting a replacement device.  If it is a software error, try reloading the device's operating system with Blackberry Desktop Software.  If reloading the OS does not fix the problem, then try to get a replacement device.  Hope that helps,
    Doc

  • Macbook Air Late 2010 model, 10.6.7, 2.13 4g ram. Trackpad is not working properly and in sometimes not at all.

Macbook Air Late 2010 model, 10.6.7, 2.13 4g ram. Trackpad is not working properly and in sometimes not at all. Need suggestions to resolve this issue?  I have applied all Mac updates and still having problems with the trackpad.

The machine has a 1 year warranty, book an appointment with your local Apple Store or AASP to have it looked at.
You can try doing a SMC reset however I don't think that is the solution.
    SMC RESET
    • Shut down the computer.
    • Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
    • On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-• Option keys and the power button at the same time.
    • Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
    • Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    • Shut down the computer.
    • Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    • Turn on the computer.
    • Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    • Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    • Release the keys.

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? If you did, did you use the Boot Camp Control icon to set up the trackpad how you want it?

My trackpad is not working properly sometimes and it takes too long for my macbook to open
