Trackpad / Typing Issues When Outdoors

Hi,
I have a 9300 and have no issues when using it indoors. However, when I am outside, the cursor sporadically jumps throughout the screen and unusual characters (not regular letters) show up when I type. It makes typing on the phone impossible at times when I am outside. I am in Southwestern Ontarion - the weather is moderate, I am not talking about extyreme weather.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply.
Do you have any examples of system extensions or accessibility features that might be the culprit?  I have actually never heard of those terms before.

  • Strange issue when typing a number in Lion

    Hi,
I have a very rare issue when I type a number now and since I updated my system to Lion, no matter which program am I using, Safari, textedit, mail, etc. Every time I type a number (just one), it suddently erase itself, doesn't happen when I type more than one, it's very annoying and this didn't happen when I had Snow Leopard.
    Any ideas?

    …and so on = 58376163294144?
Could you please answer the questions, this is like drawing hens teeth.
I have entered the numbers but since I don't know how your sequence is input I can't do the preceeding numbers to the one that changes.
    …which doesn't when I do it in Pages '09 v4.05:

  • Trackpad + Typing Problem

Recently my Macbook has begun acting up a little bit. At random times when I'm dragging the cursor across the screen, it will start highlighting text, clicking buttons, opening things from the dock, etc. Without even clicking the trackpad button, it seems to be activated, and held down. It makes it very difficult to browse the internet, use iTunes, etc., because it will randomly just start clicking and moving songs, opening links, messing up Mail, etc.
Furthermore, there seems to be a somewhat related problem with typing. When this trackpad/clicking problem seems to be occuring, it also becomes very difficult to type. Typing seems to work just fine initially, but then all of a sudden the text I'm typing won't show up on the line. The cursor blinks, and then jumps to a random line of text, highlights a few words, and then pauses. If I continue typing, it either erases the text that was selected, or just keeps typing and adding characters to the middle of a word or sentence I've already typed.
Something definitely seems to be glitching. Occasionally I'm able to 'reset' the problem by moving the cursor to the desktop and firmly clicking on the trackpad 3-5 times. That will stop things from randomly highlighting and usually get the text to work again. It seems to be a problem mostly when I'm using Adium to talk to people, or just after I've typed for a few paragraphs (it's starting to act up right now, actually).
Should I call Apple, or does anyone have any suggestions for fixing the problem with Software, etc.? I don't want it to progress any further, but as a college student, I'm going to be doing a lot of typing and need it fixed.
    Thanks.

Have you tried resetting your Power Management Unit?
Turn your Mac off, and remove the battery. Hold the power button down for about five to ten seconds. Pop the battery back in, and restart your computer.
I had this issue, and it went away right after I did this.

  • Macbook pro trackpad too quick when in documents

In my MacBook Pro Retina, the trackpad works perfectly when browsing but it is toooo quick when in documents. as soon as I touch it and move my fingers few millimetres or even micrometers the document moves and stops miles away...

    Anthony,
Have you learned anything more about this problem? I have the exact same issue. Headphones that work fine on an older Macbook Pro are deafening on the new (Mar. 2008) model.
I haven't had time to go down to an Apple store and see if it is the same on all machines.

  • Trackpad Sensitivity Issue After Snow Leopard Upgrade

I have a Late 2008 MBP/2.53 Ghz and prefer to use tap to click/2 finger secondary tap.
After upgrading to Snow Leopard (to v.10.6.6 as a clean install), linked webpages and files/folders often open when a second finger touches the trackpad accidentally even when pressed very gently.
The same happens if a third finger touches the trackpad if I am scrolling through a page with 2 fingers. Sometimes when pausing/hovering over a link, part of the page surrounding the hyperlink will highlight and can sometimes the link will activate without any additional accidental touch. I have slowed down the tracking and double click speed in preferences, but this makes no difference.
The funny thing is, some days the problems are worse than other days, the trackpad seems to have a mind of it's own! These issues never happened with Leopard, and it is very frustrating.
Post SL upgrade, I have also noticed that the Magsafe adapter sometimes needs a little wiggle before it will start charging, and occasionally, the red 'close' symbol at the top left of the page does not always activate and I have to start tapping elsewhere before trying to close the page again.
My parents have SL installed natively on their MBP (Spring 2010), and their MBP does not encounter any of these problems.
Disk Utility shows Javavirtualmachine differences, which I trust can be ignored as the differences are non critical, or could these issues be having an effect on SL?
I have AppleCare which expires in November and I want this sorted out asap. I could just revert back to using Leopard, but as I have paid £30 for Snow Leopard it would be a waste of money.
I'm not sure whether my AppleCare cover these issues seeing as SL wasn't natively installed on the Mac when purchased?
If anyone can help with these issues it would be very much appreciated.
    Many thanks

After installing SL, i cannot get wellsfargo "account login" to work for any account of mine, other financial secure sites work fine, i.e. fidelity or vanguard, I can access the main screen of wellsfargo but login fails ... screen i get says Safari can't connect to the server and as follows: "Safari can’t open the page “https://online.wellsfargo.com/das/cgi-bin/session.cgi?" plus some more gibberish stuff.... i tried switching to firefox and it works fine .... never had any trouble before ..... tried safari reset, safari empty cache, and maintenace that applied ...... still no luck!! hope they get this bug fixed , my other computer an older mac mini works fine. any help????? never had any problem before SL

  • Musical typing issue

    Hi,
I just installed Leopard. I was previously running 10.3 and I had garageband and everything worked fine. I put garageband on the 10.5 and I no longer have musical typing. When i select software instrument it is asking me if i want to save the instrument or discard it. I have tried both options and neither of them allow the typing to work. Does anyone know why this is? Am I looking at a compatibility issue? Garageband is version 3.0.5 i think ... it may be 3.0.4 but i thought the update just went through.
Thanks in advance for any help

I just realized that I put this in the wrong section. It should be in Garageband 3. If anyone knows how to move it, it would be appreciated. thanks

  • Trackpad preferences issues

Hi, I've just recently updated to mavericks, but i can't change my trackpad preferences, 'cause when I try, it says 'Preferences Error'  'Could not load Trackpad preference pane.'
    What can I do?

    Hi, unwisebewildered.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is a troubleshooting article that may help with this issue.

  • Hi my ipad keyboard is too fast when i'm typing exemple when i type a letter a it look like aaaaaa any adea guys thanks

HI MY I PAD KEYBOARD IS TOO FAST TO CONTROL WHEN I'M TYPING EXEMPLE WHEN I TYPE A LETTER A LOOK LIKE THAT AAAAA ANY IDEAS GUY'S
    THANKS

Please explain as I have the same issue - I never know what the receiver gets. I do know that sometimes I get a replied/forwarded email with my message embedded in it and it is huge - I have set my fonts at 14pt for typing. but how an i be sure my clients don't see this huge font?
If you have used Mail > Preferences to set your font at 14pt, that will normally leave the size of the font which your recipient sees up to his own software and settings. Your outgoing email body will not contain any info about font and size unless you have deliberately set them for that particular message in the New Message pane.
In the end, it is not always possible to dictate what your clients see. Their software usually gives them the capability, if they want to use it, to read emails in the font and font size they find most comfortable.
it is so easy to enlarge a rec'd email or a safari webpage, but why can't this be done easily?
What is it that you want done exactly? Sometimes Mail just does not have the features people need. So they use Entourage or Thunderbird instead.

  • Lenovo Y50 trackpad not working when a key is pressed.

Basically what is stated above. The driver appears to disable my ability to use the trackpad while I am holding a key. Like if I were to hold W (if I were playing a game) the trackpad does not function. I looked through the trackpad settings to see nothing that could disable it other than palm settings (which did nothing when screwing with the slider). I contacted customer service via phone but to no avail. If you know a way to help me fix this issue that would be great. Cheers.

I looked at this forum https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y50-Trackpad-keyboard-issue/m-p/2051729#M120537 and found out the driver appears to be different. Is there an upgrade I am missing, I am having the exact same issue.

As vereyezuhn has stated, if you search the forum you will find your answer.  I have posted an answer under my own post: "Keyboard frozen on screen!!! Help!!!"  Please read that as it outlines the correct answer to solving your problem.  A factory reset is not necessary (unless your problems are more than what you say they are and all other solutions have been tried and exhausted). A keyboard app is also not necessary, as there are simple settings you need to change on your phone.  If after trying the solution I have outlined there, you may need to do some of the other suggestions offered (run in safe mode to find problem apps, and a clear cache).  Hope this helps.
As if only one answer covers all. I have better keyboard 8 and I do not have any typing issues, and that's with vibrate on keypress still enabled.

  • Getting message typed twice when including attachment in Mail 6.2 (1499)

getting message typed twice when including attachment in Mail 6.2 (1499)
    anyone else having this issue?

Can you explain further what you mean "getting message typed twice"?
Does each letter double ("ccaatt"), each word double ("cat cat"), each sentence double ("The cat left. The cat left"), or the entire message text double ("Dear John The cat left. Sincerely, Mary Dear John The cat left. Sincerely Mary")?
Does the doubling appear while you are typing, only after you attach a file, in the "Sent" mailbox copy after sending, or only on the receiving end?

  • Issue when uploading Sales data from DSO to Cube.

    Dear All,
I have an issue when I am uploading Sales data from DSO to Cube.  I am using BI 7.0 and I have uploaded all sales document level data to my DSO.  Then I use a transformation rule to calculate the Sales Value when I am doing DTP to cube.  Cube has customer wise aggregation data.
In DSO I have NetPrice(KF) and Delivered_QTY(KF).  I do a simple multiplication routine in the transformation from DSO to Cube.
    RESULT =   SOURCE_FIELDS-NET_PRICE * SOURCE_FIELDS-DLV_QTY .
At the moment I use Active Table(With out Archive) on the DSO to get the data since this is my first load.
Issue is that the figure (Sales Value) in the cube is incorrect. I am getting a very large values which is impossible.
    Can someone please help me.
    Shanka

    Hi,
are you sure that cube has customer wise aggregated data..since it will always aggregate the values of the key figures for the same set of characters...
did you checked the values for the key figures as well and if even they are inflated or is the problem with this key figure only.
During the data load the records may aggregates first for the same values of characters and then multiplication will be happening....if that is the case then you may have to multiply the values before storing it in the data package and then let it aggregate....can be achived through start routine...
but first verify if other key figures are also having the same issue.
    Thanks

  • File formatting issues when saving PDF as PPTX in Acrobat XI Pro

    Hi guys,
I have some issues when I'm saving my PDF (initially comming from InDesign) as PPTX. The format is suddenly changing, leaving a blank zone, and some of the pages are rotated.
Is it a problem comming from the Indesign or from the Acrobat options itself? I have already tried changing the chekboxes in the option box when I'm saving, but nothing worked.
If someone has an idea how to fix that, i would be very grateful! Thanks in advance

Which dot version of Acrobat XI are you currently using in your export?  Is the PDF file tagged?  If not, then you may want to tag the PDF file before exporting it.

  • Mid 2009 17" MacBook Pro battery shutdown issue when waking from sleep.

My unibody 17" MacBook Pro occasionally shuts down on waking from sleep when it isn't plugged in.
When I open the lid to wake it I can hear the hard drive and fans starting to spool, and then the next second it's off and silent. The laptop doesn't mind being turned on again after it does this and might go a week without doing it again, equally it might do it next time I try and wake it from sleep. It does this regardless of battery charge level.
coconutBattery says the battery still has 86% of its designed capacity, and I haven't noticed anything else untoward regarding battery charging or performance when in use.
So my question is two fold:
    1) Does it sound like the battery's internal processor is malfunctioning, or could it be something else?
    2) If it is the battery's internal processor, will replacing the battery replace the processor, or are they fitted separately (in defference to the 'internal' part of its name)?
    Cheers,
    James
nb. just in case it makes any difference, the laptop is a 17" Mid-2009 MacBook Pro, 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo with 4Gb Ram running OSX 10.7.3

    James
I have had issues when i press the space bar from sleep, sometimes it wakes but others i'm forced to power it on with the power button.
Is this similar to anything you've experianced?
Its so inconsistantly these days, but i'm also connected to an external screen.
