Trackpad unresponsive and button overly responsive
I have this macbook for a little less than 2 years. I have recently installed leopard and everything was fine for awhile. Over the past few weeks the trackpad does not respond to clicking only movement (clicking is enabled in system prefs) and the trackpad button assumes that every click is a double click (even though the double click speed is set to be extremely slow) this results in my being able to move the mouse around but only being able to constantly highlight and drag things around. I bought 2 different external mice and when connected only the scroll button and the right click button work...so i cant click on anything still. I erased and re installed tiger and it fixed the problem right up until that first shut down. So I did another erase and install and the problem still exists....pleeeeeease help. Ill try anything

2 finger gesture work fine with the trackpad protector. But the only thing seem to stop completely was the finger swipe for the mission control and the occassionally cursor unresponsiveness( cursor just stop in place and will not respond my to finger movement). Has any one experience this with their "hard film protector?" And has anyone expereince this without the hard film protector. I chatted with the people on apple.com and they told me to go into safeboot and and to move the the cursor around and see if it happened again. And the same thing happen during safeboot. They are saying its a hardware problem. Anyone have any other input why this is happening. My macbook air is new only 2 weeks old. Don't know this is happening?
I could never count how many Macs Ive seen and laptops in general of others, ....yours would be the first Ive seen (heard) to have a trackpad protector on same.

Keyboard and trackpad freeze and randomly become unresponsive
I've got a MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011) running Mac OS X 10.8.2.
Since a few weeks ago at random intervals my keyboard and trackpad become permanently unresponsive. I don't recall any particular cause or change that would have caused this to start happening.
What happens is that the trackpad and keyboard will stop functioning completely. The computer, display etc. would continue to function properly:
The clock keeps ticking.
If music were playing it would continue etc.
Internet connectivity (via an ethernet cable or WiFi) continues to work as well (a download will continue, and even resume if I disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable).
Presssing the power button will bring up the shutdown dialog as usual (but I can't use it, obviously, so a forced shutdown needs to be performed instead by holding down the power button longer).
.. but the keyboard and trackpad are rendered inoperable, as if they were no longer connected.
I've made no progress in finding out what could possibly be the cause of this. A few observations:
It has never happened while not using the keyboard (e.g. watch a DVD with TV series for a few hours, and afterwards the keyboard would always be fine).
It always happens while actively typing (e.g. while in the middle of replying to an e-mail).
It is not a temporary problem, the keyboard and trackpad will not become responsive again after some time (the computer isn't particulary occupied with calculating something big, no beachball and no busy mechanical noises).
It does not happen progessively. It works fine and snappy one second, and I'm touching a dead keyboard a split second later.
I tried connecting a USB keyboard but that doesn't seem to work either (I'm mentioning this since some of the linked threads below close with that as a solution).

I've crawled through some log files in /var/log (via the shell and through Console.app) and found a couple things that may be relevant, although they seem unrelated. Etiher way, I was surprised by what I found. All sorts of errors with regards to Bluetooth and USB stuff. I'm not aware of using either. I haven't used bluetooth in years and though I sometimes charge an iPod by USB, I haven't had any problems with that, and this keyboard/trackpad freeze has also happened on sessions where I started the laptop and never even touch the USB ports in the time leading up to the freeze.

My macbook pro is running very slow with some strange mouse and window movements. The trackpad is very unresponsive and when responding the cursor moves on its own and/or very erratically. When on safari the window suddenly zooms in or highlights words and looks them up via dictionary. I currently have a wireless mouse connected and I am still having the same problems.
I fee like I may have a virus or my laptop is perhaps being accessed remotely. All of the sharing options are unchecked.
HELP PLEASE
Very worried!!Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo). -
I had an appointment this morning with Apple to try and solve the problem with my lock button ranomly not working anymore and a few hours before my appointment with the Apple store i was using my phone and my screen randomly went black and stopped working. And the p.roblem now i cant use it. I tried restarting the phone but I can't restart it due to my lock button not working so i need help with a solution on what i can do. I missed my appointment today because i could no longer use my phone and i'm now stuck using my laptop. I did also try connecting it to my MacBook but the screen was still unresponsive and black. I rescheduled my appointment to Monday to see what is wrong with my button and screen but in the meanwhile i would like to know if there is anything i can do or if i would just have to wait until monday and take it in to Apple. Any help would be really appreciated as i am phonelss for now until i take it in to Apple in a few days. Thanks.

This is not a rare case. Please do not want to circumvent nor dodge the problem and issue. Don't pretend that this prolem is minor and not important.
When there is something wrong, please admit that there is something wrong and appologize!!
Be responsible for those people who pay $1,800 dollars, which they earn for working day and night and till late night everyday!!This Apple article may help you with this issue.
Other users have reported that leaving any USB device connected to the MacBook Pro prevents the issue from occurring. A workaround for the moment, but not too onerous.

currently I am facing a problem, I have created Teststand UI button controls dynamically on the dialog, I have assigned the buttons for break, Resume, Break all, Resume all, Step into and step over.
Break, Besume, Break all , Resume all buttons are working fine, the Step into and step over buttons are enabling if I break the execution, but after breaking the execution when I click the Step into button I expect that the current step will be executed and, breaks at the next statement, but when I click the Step Into button It is behaving like resume button, I mean the executioin is going on till the end of the sequence file, it is not breaking at the next statement,

I'm not the original author of this post, but I have encountered a similar problem. My C# application has implemented the following "debug" buttons that work just fine: Run All, Pause, Continue, Stop. But my Step Over button causes the Sequence to run to completion. When the user clicks on the StepOver button, only one line is executed:
this.axExecutionViewMgr.Execution.StepOver();
but it behaves like its calling
this.axExecutionViewMgr.ResumeExecution();
Can you offer any insight into this issue? -
My ipod touch 4th generation's home button and lockscreen work perfectly but the screen is unresponsive and wont work whats the problem?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I have text buttons and want to make the text bold when the user rolls over. (this is a menu)
Are there any other ways besides having the text as a master slide and then click boxes and roll overs, I realise I can do text buttons but there is a small icon that I need at the front of the text which will also need to be clickable.

My first idea is to use the EventHandler widget of InfoSemantics (not free but you can download a trial version), because it can create a rollover event for your text button. Anyway you'll have to create a transparent text container (shape or caption) that has the Bold Text and appears when rolling over. If you don't want to go with that widget, you can simulate the same by using the Rollover slidelet (you'll need only the Area, can drag the Slidelet itself outside of the sldie), that has a rollover event that can trigger an action to show that previously hidden transparent text.

hello..i have IPhone 4S i did reset to factory settings by fault and till now after a 2 hours waiting (as known it takes a 1 to 2 minutes maximum) there is nothing just a blank screen and a running waiting icon in the middle of the screen and none of home or turn off button are responsed so i do need your help plz & thanks in advance..
Try to reset it by holding the power an home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release. If it won't reset, you'll probably have to force it into recovery mode and restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

Specific region mouse over effect(Button 1 fades out and Button 2 fades in).

I am new to Flash CS5 and building Flash navigation bar with buttons on it.
Below is my problem description that I want to solve with your help.
I have a rectangular bar and placed one small button(Button 1) on this bar. Also, I have similar button(Button 2) with some graphics on it which is of similar size as to previous Button 1.
Button 1 - Without graphic.
Button 2 - With graphic on it.
What I want is that, whenever mouse is taken over Button 1 placed on the rectangular bar, it should fade out and simultaneously Button 2 should fade in. I want only button region to be sensitive to this mouse over effect and not the complete rectangular bar.
Kindly let me know how can I define the specific region(button region only) to be sensitive to mouse over effect in flash, and how to place Button 1 and Button 2 in layers so that both are at the same positition(so that there is no displacement of button detected).

Thank you for the reply. Button 1 does not have glowing effect, whereas Button 2 has a glowing effect. So what I wanted is that when initially Button 1 is loaded during page load, when I mouse over Button 1, Button 1 would fade out and Button 2 sitting behind Button 1 would automatically look like fade in(due to gradual fad out of Button 1 on top of Button 2).
I could do this now, and would like to Thank you for your reply.
I did this by creating movie clip on "Over" event of Button 1 and changing its Alpha property. But now what I want is how to gradually fade out, means when I remove my mouse from over button, then Button 2 should fade out gradually which will automatically make Button 1 fade in gradually.
I could not find the "Out" event just like we have "Over" event for Button, so I assume this can only be done using ActionScript somehow.
Let me know if I am going correct with my assumption, and possibly if you could help me achieve the remaining half(fading out gradually when mouse is removed from the button).

Just wanted to add some additional detail to Gen's response.
With a free account:
The first time that your form reaches 5 responses, FormsCentral will send you an email letting you know that your form is seeing some action and that you may wish to upgrade.
Then the first time that your form reaches 45 responses, FormsCentral will send you an email letting you know that you are getting close to your quota, again giving you the option to upgrade.
Finally, FormsCentral will send you an email once your response count goes over your quota of 50. ie. on the 51st response. Responses will continue to be collected until the count reaches 75, giving you time to upgrade. After 75 responses, people accessing your form will see a message that the form is full.

I'm not sure on this, but I think this affects all iBook 14" models. At least it seems that way anyways.
I have just got used to the squeakyness, but to be quite honest I prefer not to use the trackpad anyways. I'd rather use a 2 button mouse anyday (Even though the 2 finger scrolling is cool)! -
My IP address is block and getting no response from AT&T
I am a small business owner, website developer and hosting provider. I have a VPS server with a handful of websites on it. The IP address of this server is being blocked by AT&T. My clients are unable to send mail to anyone with a sbcglobal.net email address. After careful investigation by myself and my tech support team I have found nothing suspicious. I have checked all logs, all user accounts and removed all forwarding email accounts. I have visited the designated http://att.net/blocks page and have submitted the unblock request on 3 separate occasions over the last month and have received no response or resolution from AT&T. I have also emailed [email protected] and received no response. I called the main support line at AT&T and was transfered to the website department who then transfered me to the email department who told me I had the wrong department. How can I get this resolved??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Possibly you're using some old software that is trying to check for updates on a site that no longer exists and isn't handling it correctly? I dunno, that's just a guess. To make sure the traffic isn't coming from your machine, you could install [Little Snitch|http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch> to monitor outgoing connections.
As for your wireless network, if it's secured, it's unlikely to be neighbors. (The WEP/WPA2 thing does not sound right to me... it's got to be either one or the other. Dunno what to say about that.) To verify, try opening AirPort Utility, open your base station, click Advanced, then Statistics, then the Logs and Statistics button. In the new window, click the DHCP Clients tab... this will show you what clients are currently connected. Keep an eye on it from time to time to make sure nobody's on that shouldn't be. (Note that things like iPod Touches or iPhones can show up here if you've configured them to connect to your network, and may show up even if they're turned off.)
