Trackpad will not select anything but does move cursor.

My trackpad for my MacBookPro (10.5.8) suddenly stopped selecting anything. I hear the clicking sound when I press the pad. My mouse works with no problem. I have rebooted a number of times and checked looked the settings in my trackpaf Preferences but didn't change anything. I never really knew there were trackpad preferences until today when I was trying to troubleshoot this problem.

The following was suggested on another thread but I've tried it & it doesn't solve the issue:
System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click
Tap to click
Secondary click
Uncheck the boxes to it if they are checked and recheck them back.
Any other ideas?

Trackpad will not select user after Mac restart

Trackpad works fine normally but after restart of Mac, will not click on user (cursor moves over it) so I have to use a mouse to click & enter password. All software is up to date. Any ideas.

My iPod 4th gen will not do anything but scroll and occasionally flash the Apple logo for a few seconds

Last night while I was trying to delete an app, my iPod crashed. Usually it will restart just fine but it has not sucessfully turned off or restarted as far as I can tell. It stays on the black screen with the scrolling white wheel in the center and about every twenty minutes or so the screen will suddenly go white and then switch to the Apple logo like it's going to turn back on, but it just starts scrolling again. I have tried holding the lock button to try to get it to turn off and that hasn't worked and neither has going through the steps to reset (holding lock and home simultaneously until the apple logo appears). Any other suggestions or is it just toast?

Try:

Will not print anything but Pdf files!

If I try to print anything at all other than a PDF file from Adobe only(other readers will not even work) very little of the page prints if anything at all. For example, I was trying to print a shipping label off of the website, and the only thing that would print was the barcode. Nothing else. I actually had to convert it to a pdf file and open it with Adobe, and then it printed perfectly. I have tried reinstalling, restarting, using the HP support doctor, which says absolutely nothing is wrong with my printer. I am at a loss to why it will only print pdf files from Adobe. Can anyone please help me?! I forgot to mention it worked perfectly about a month ago. We don't print a whole lot and didn't notice it was messed up until just a few days ago.

I understand that when printing from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Deskjet 1512 All-in-One Printer, nothing is printing, except Adobe PDF files. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. Now, you indicate in your post that you had tried to print a shipping label from a website, and only the barcode prints. However, if you open the file up and print it from Adobe it appears to print fine. This leads me to believe that the actual issue that is occuring is a print system issue with the black cartridge. I know it may come as a surprise to hear that as Adobe is printing fine. However, when you print from certain programs on your computer the file is sent to the printer as an 'image' file. If your printer 'thinks' it is printing an image it will use a mixture of colour ink and black to print the black document. Therefore, what you may actually be seeing when you print from Adobe is colour ink mixed. To start troubleshooting I am going to have you print a Quality Diagnostics Report from your printer and this will help us to isolate this printing issue. Please follow the steps below. How to Print a Quality Report: Load clean, white U.S. Letter or A4 paper in the input tray, if necessary.Press and hold the Power button. While holding down the Power button, press and hold the Cancel button. Hold them both down for 2 or 3 seconds.The test page prints. (1) Printed with the tri-colour cartridge(2) Printed with the black cartridge If this Report prints perfectly: Then the printing issue that you're experiencing is not being caused by your products print system. Rather, there may be a driver conflict occuring between your Windows computer and your printer. Please do not proceed with troubleshooting at this time. If this Report prints with missing black or other quality issues: Then the printing issue that you're experiencing is being caused by your products print system. To resolve this hardware issue can I please have you click here. Once the support document opens please choose the Windows 8 dropdown. Next, follow the steps under Solution one, Solution five, Solution six, and Solution seven. This includes any sub steps under the listed Solutions to complete. Once troubleshooting has been completed please print another Quality Diagnostics Report to confirm if the issue has been resolved. The screen with an iTunes logo and cord indicates the device is in recovery mode, and will need to be restored by using iTunes. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

Anyone had an issue on iphone 4s where bluetooth connects one day and then the next will not discover anything, but then a little while later it works again? I have 2 audio devices and an apple keyboard that I have this issue with. Effects ALL.

I have an iphone 4s. A while ago it started having issues with bluetooth. All of the sudden, an audio headset I am using quits working with my iphone bluetooth. I check and my iphone doesn't see any of my bluetooth devices. I have an apple keyboard, a headset, and a speaker. Nothing shows up on my iphone but they all connect perfectly to my ipad. Then a day or so later it works again. The are all suddenly there. I just installed iOS7 and I'm still having the same problem. What is UP? Anyone have a clue what is going on?

I have this problem too. I have an iPhone 4, and this wasn't a problem when I bought the phone back in December. I think it came a month or so later and I suspect with a standard upgrade of something like itunes, or iphone software... but I can't pinpoint it to any specific update as it took me a while to notice it. For me, it does this with my work calendar which is run through Microsoft Outlook. But it's the exact same thing - and it means my calendar isn't reliable anymore.
I've made sure the time-zone settings are correct, I've updated all software, and gone through all possible settings for both my i-phone and Outlook. Nothing fixes the problem, even our tech guy at work didn't know what to do. I know it's not just my phone as the exact same thing has happened with my boss's iPhone which is an iPhone 3G, and it frustrates him to no end.
I'm really hoping someone at apple can tell us what's going on, especially since it never used to do this and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. If someone thinks they know what itunes update this was due to, let me know - I'll see if I can go back to that older version.

Last night I updated from the old Firefox to the latest Firefox, 4.0 I think, and now NOTHING works but the homepage. None of my bookmarks work, the address bar doesn't work, nothing. I keep getting the error message "Firefox cannot find the server to the website"

Simply go to:
1.View 2.Select tool bars 3. Uncheck any of the toolbars below: a. Babylon toolbar b. Softonic Eng 7 Community tool bar!
4.Finish.... if nothing happened try to unchechked other tool bars.

Although this resolution seems ingenious I must let you know that exposing your iPod to freezing temperatures can cause serious harm and it will void your warranty. Please see the following excerpt from the iPod Safety Guide available at Apple.com.
Keeping iPod within acceptable temperatures
Operate iPod in a place where the temperature is always between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). iPod play time might temporarily shorten in low-temperature conditions.
Store iPod in a place where the temperature is always between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave iPod in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.
When you’re using iPod or charging the battery, it is normal for iPod to get warm. The exterior of iPod functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the unit to the cooler air outside.

Mine did the same thing last week after trying to update it via wi-fi. I then spent 11 hours Sunday updating my itunes on the laptop then restoring my ipod. Now all it does is beep as if it is just plugged in and flash the white apple logo. It beeps constantly. My computer at first didn't recognize it, then it did but said I needed to unlock it,(since I can't get the home screen up, I can't.) and now it doesn't recognize it at all. I've tried both computers.

Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.
