Tracks from ipod to pc

Can anyone please help me, I recently had to have my pc returned to base due to a fault. Unfortunately when I receive my pc back it shall be reset back to the factory setting meaning that all my itunes shall be erased, but I still have all my tracks on my ipod.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to move tracks from my ipod back to my pc??

Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method I've seen posted. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer.

i've just downladed yamipod: does anyone know if it is possible to move individual tracks from that back to itunes?

Yes, you can do individual tracks with yamipod, just scroll down to the track you want and under the file menu there is a copy function. Good Luck.

  • Recover dead tracks from ipod

recently my music HD got slightly corrupted and i lost afew tracks (533) so they'er comming up as dead tracks in itunes. my ipod is synced up to date so all thoes missing tracks are on the ipod, are there any tools that can recover the dead tracks from the ipod to fix my itunes database, its a horrific task doing it manually, cheers guys

The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

  • IPod Full - How do I remove tracks from iPod to create space?

The tracks in my iTunes has superseeded the size of my 20GB iPod.
I need to leave some space on my iPod to back up important work files, therefore how do I remove selected tracks from my iPod to create the necessary space?
    Thx for your help.
    Matt.

Any changes needed for your iPod will have to be made in iTunes. How about making a specific playlist in iTunes for your iPod of a specfic size which will allow for your work files, then in your iPod preferences tell iTunes to only sync iPod to that playlist? Welcome to discussions!

However, My Father has an iPod mini and he cant play music from his iPod through iTunes when it is connected to his PC. The Tracks are faded out on the screen and u cant click on them to play them. There is also a strange lock symbol beside the Memory status bar on the bottom of the screen. Has anyone ever seen this before or know what to do if if does appear???
Any help would be very much appreciated.

You have to place the iPod in Manual Music Transfer in order to play music on the Ipod through the PC.

  • How to delete tracks from iPod / Storage problem,

I'm using iCloud to store music but keep getting a message " storage almost full". when I check icloud theres plenty of storage. I think it may the tracks on the iPod creating to problem. Have plugged ipod into iTunes and shows a " On this iPod" option, which has 404 tracks. I try to delete by selecting delete but does not work and looked at other suggestions e.g slide the track lesf to right which also fails. Any advise apprecaited. Phil GT

    - On the iPod if you swipe a song left or right a Delete buton should pop up. Tap it to dele the song.
    - You can delete all Music by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music>Music> Edit in upper right and then Delete.
    - You said " I try to delete by selecting delete but does not work " just whee are you doing that?
    - Same for "slide the track lesf to right which also fails.".

  • Burning tracks from iPod Playlist

    Hi all,
The time has come to get my 50Gb of music off my powerbook and keep my library entirely on my iPod Photo 60Gb.
Before I make the leap I wanted to check if it's still possible to burn cds of playlists stored on your iPod? I can remember I used to be able to do this under older versions of iTunes but I cant find any mention of this feature now.
Can anyone shed any light? Any help greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Drew

You can't burn directly from your iPod. If the playlists are in iTunes you can burn them from there

  • My new laptop is Windows 7. I've just updated iTunes to 10.7.0.21 x64. ipod  with 3000  tracks no longer recognised. I want to copy from iPod to laptop. Is it possible?

My Toshiba laptop is Windows 7. I had to remove first attempt at loading iTunes 10.7.0.21 but second attempt seemed OK. My iPod with 3000+ tracks was reognised by my old laptop but is not recognised by iTunes on my Toshiba. I want to copy from iPod to iTunes to maintain the library. Is this possible?

  • Track from iTMS plays in itunes, but not on iPod

Five minutes ago, I purchased a track from the iTunes Music Store (Sunspot, by Moby). I downloaded the file, and it plays without a hitch in iTunes.
When I sync my iPod, though, I find the track is not playable on the iPod. I can find and select it in the interface. When I try to play it, though, it immediately takes me back to the main "iPod" menu. On one or two play attempts, it briefly flashed the cover art on the display of the iPod Video, but it then took me back to the "iPod" menu.
I am able to play other tracks on the iPod. I've purchased dozens of tracks and I've never seen this before. Any advice?

You can try this - It seems to help some people that are having weird authorization issues:
Make sure you delete the old one off of your iPod.
Copy the file from the iTunes music folder to your desktop.
Then click on it and it will play in iTunes.
Now add this new one back to your iPod.
If that doesn't work, you can email iTunes Support using the form at the bottom of this page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/authorization/
Let them know what's happening & they may be able to give you a new copy or refund you.

  • Can I play tracks from my iPod via Airport Express on only from my laptop?

I can play tracks from my laptop thorugh my Bose Lifestyle  Airport Express.  Is there a way to play tracks from my iPod Touch through my Bose system via Airport Express?   My Airport Express is set up as a client to my Sky Broadband wireless router.

I set up my laptop to my Bose Lifestyle System via Airport Express. It may be different for MAC but I just downloaded the Airport Express software and followed the on-screen set-up procedure, which includes entering your WI-FI key.  I do not have an iPad.  You need to select Airport Express in iTunes as your sound media. This is easily switched by an icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.  You will need to switch this back if you want to revert to using the laptop speakers.
