Tracks to Play in Album Order: Zen Touch 2

How do i get my albums to play in their actual order, its quite often in alphabetical order or sometimes random? I'm using Napster to burn my albums to my Zen touch

You need to ensure that the tracknumbers in the mp3 id3 tags are all correctly ordered.

Are your tracks pat of a collection? Different artists, but still one album? Then mark them a s acollection or set the album artist. See this guide on how to group separate tracks into albums:

  • Properly numbered tracks still play out of order

    Here's a strange one:
iTunes has stopped playing songs on albums in their proper order. This, despite the fact that I did a "Get Info" on the tracks and determined that they all have the proper "X of Y" numbering sequence, and that the album name is the same from one track to the next (no extra spaces, typos, etc.).
And what's really weird is that the tracks are listed in their proper order when I select the "Album" view in iTunes.
Nevertheless, when I play the album, they skip around, as though there was some mysterious "shuffle songs within album" setting. (Is there?)

That could be it. I'm away for the weekend and not near the computer on which I keep my iTunes library. I'll check on Monday, and if that's it, I'll be sure to mark your answer as "solved."
    Thanks for the pointer!

  • Can someone PLEASE show me how to Create a play list on a ZEN TOuch

)ok from what i see so far i go on the player i select the track i want.
    2) Then i go too create play list and name the playlist
    3) But when i go to add other songs i witness 2 problems
    a) It saves all the songs for that artist
    b) it ask too override what was in the play list so i lose the songs i saved before?
    4) What is the whole point of the select as is button?
Can someone please show me how to make a play list on the player not the media source....

I don't mean to bump this after over a month, but I just found it with a search. I agree... playlist creation seems like it would be such a simple thing... and they make it so hard.
Would added playlist function be able to be upgraded through firmware?
It seems like along with the "Add to selected", there could be an "Add to playlist" thing you could click, then it would ask which plalist you would like to add it to. That way, even from the 'Now Playling' listing, you could add a song that's playing right now to any one of your playlists. Or you wouldn't have to interrupt what's playing to add a track in the library.
The Zen software is pretty terrible too... you can't even easily arrange your playlist. You have to drag the tracks. I can't just click something like "Arrange playlist by artist" or anything. It's crazy.
I love that you can do playlists... a lot of players don't even have this feature. But it seems like they could easily make it more... well... easy for us.
For a software solution, I've found the Zen Winamp plugin to be by far the best thing for making playlists. It's great!

  • Track appears out of album order

    Image: http://mattgcn.tumblr.com/photo/1280/345826501/1/tumblr_kwlh2yE20v1qzl3jr
Basically, no matter what bulk-tag-editing, renaming or anything I do to this file, it refuses to show up AFTER track 1
    Message was edited by: mattgcn2

Your image lacks the column headings which might help pin down the exact cause, but the numbers on the left suggest we're looking at playlist. Select this column and you ought to be able to drag the tracks into any order you choose. For general advice on grouping & sorting see Use an album friendly view and Tracks out of sequence.

  • Problems with ripping files from my cds to Zen Touch via Mediasource pla

This is a problem I have had recently. I run Windows XP and have a Zen Touch which is a really decent player. However, just recently I have been unable to rip any CD tracks from my ample collection and put them on the Zen touch. I always get a little dialogue box which says CDrom doesn't support file ripping. Try the Recording function. It has done this even on CDs whose tracks I ACTUALLY put on the Zen touch already without any problem. Why is it doing this now?
I have tried re-installing the Zen touch cd a number of times but to no avail.
    Thanks

Thanks for that. I have been going around in frustration with this thing for a few nights. Even my husband is at a loss with it and he knows more about this stuff than I do.
I have effected a temporary solution to the problem which is to rip cd tracks using Nero Startsmart which converts them to MP3 no problem. I have also tried using the Media Player as well. Now all I have to do is download from the MP3 folder the tracks I have already ripped and load them onto the Zen.
What I don't understand about all of this is that the MediaSource Software was working okay until this month.

  • Audio sounds like half-speed on Zen Touch, but not on the

I've got TONS of Opie and Anthony that I'm moving from my computer to my Zen Touch. Unfortunately, many of the files sound as if they're playing at half-speed, even though the timer at the bottom is running at the appropriate speed. This only happens when I'm playing them on my Zen Touch; when I listen to the files on my pc, the sound is just fine.
Running firmware .00.06. I've read that there have been issues with new firmware, so I've been wary to update to a newer version.
If anyone can help, you'll make a guy really happy...Message Edited by taunter on 06-20-2005 :34 PM

    Taunter,
Here is a rundown of what MP3 bitrates you will want to have:
    Mono: 24KBPS and higher
    Stereo: 40KBPS and higher
If you try VBR, it may be difficult to figure out exactly where to place the slider, but I would suggest keeping it from the lower sections so that it doesn't drop into the Khz sampling range.
All WMA bitrates should work ok, since they do not sample lower than 22Khz.

  • Connecting zen touch to car stereo (no tape dec

i'd like to play music from my zen touch in my car, but i've a head unit with no tape deck.... is there some accessory/way i can get by without a tape adapter? thanks,
    -matt

Most car decks don't have auxillary input with the two holes. The Aux. input is usually combined with the CD Changer option, an adapter is usually needed to convert the CD changer jack to an Aux. Jack.
Most likely if you are trying to do this with a stock deck, it might be impossible, but it doesn't hurt to try take a look and see if there is an Aux input.

  • Play Track = Play Album on Zen Tou

Just purchased a Zen Touch 40 and updated to the latest firmware (2..0).
When I choose a single track I want to play by pressing the play button, it adds every track from that album to my Now Playing list and starts playing from the track I wanted to play.
Is this the way it's supposed to work? My previous player; a Dell Digital Jukebox 5, which had firmware developed by Creative; played only the track I selected when I did this. Frankly, that made more sense.
This means if I don't want to play an entire album on my Zen Touch, I have to first clear the Now Playing selection, choose the track(s) I want to play by choosing the Add to Selected option, press the Menu button, and (finally) press the play button. On my Digital Jukebox, all I had to do was choose the track I wanted to play and press the play button.
Anyway, is there any way to get my Zen Touch to do this the way my Digital Jukebox did it's (And, no, choosing Track Once from the Play Mode menu is not a good workaround; doing that means I have to take my Zen Touch out of my pocket whenever a song ends to play another.)Message Edited by SKOPE on -5-2005 05:43 AM

Thanx for your reply. It just does not work in my case.
Your recipe: music library->OK->albums->OK->(scroll to your album)->OK->view tracks->(scroll to your track)->OK->OK: this plays ONLY that track... In my case it starts with the track and then plays all the subsequent tracks of the album (and actual of total track numbers appears in the right bottom of the screen)...
When I, e.g, try to select by artist/genre and directly choose to play, it only plays the tracks which have the correct artist/genre AND any album specified in the tag...
But if I choose 'Add to Selected' in all above cases, it works just as expected: the chosen is added to the play list regardless of its album information.
So, I have to specify any album on all tracks to have it work as I would like. Does this make sense?Message Edited by OneEarLeft on 2-2-2005 0:43 PM

  • How do I get my iPhone to play all albums by any given artist in consecutive album track order like it does on an iPod?

When I select an artist on my iPod Classic and then select "all albums," I can play multiple albums consecutively without losing the track order of each individual album.  On my iPhone 4S, however, when I select an artist there's only the option to select "all songs," and it lists all the tracks alphabetically and plays them in that order, making it impossible to listen to one album followed by another.  It isn't a problem if I select one album at a time, as the tracks then remain in their original order from the album, but it won't keep the proper orderings if I want to play all of the music by an artist and select "all songs."  Is there some way to change it so that when I view all tracks by an artist I can see them and play them in their original intended track order, not in the alphabetical listing order?

Delete the file and re-download again.

  • IPod touch 5th gen... play all songs on all albums by an artist in album order?

    Hi.
On my old ipod classic I can play all songs on all albums by an artist in album order.  Is there a way to do this on the ipod touch 5th gen?  I can see how to play all songs by an artist but only in alphabetical order, not one album after another...
    Thanks,
    J.

You can't please everyone ... some people want to be able to find a particular song by an artist and can't remember the name of the album from which it comes. By sorting all songs by an artist alphabetically you can go right to it. But I agree with you, I'd much prefer album order. Submit your feedback via the link provided, and yes the workaround is to create an On The Go playlist, or create one in iTunes.

  • How do I get Itunes to play an album in order if some of the songs are duets? For example, if I'm playing an album by "John Doe" and track

How do I get stupid Itunes to play an album in order if some of the songs are duets? For example, if I'm playing an album by "John Doe" and track #3 is a duet w/ "Jane Doe", it treats it as a separate album! What can I do

    Hi
    All my tracks are MP3.
In List View, I do not have an Album column I have an Album by Artist column.  If I click on this column the albums look right in the playlist on the screen but when I burn to the CD the tracks are not in one folder per album instead they seem to be in folders per Artist then Album, which as one of the albums is a compilation has created about 30 folders.
If I switch on the 'Sort by Album' column it burns the disc as I expected.

  • Album tracks playing in random order

I downloaded an album from iTunes today and when I went to play it, it's shuffling. I haven't asked it to. It's a Richard Hawley album. That guy doesn't even let you speak at his gigs. He'd go mental if he knew. I have checked on the "Get Info" tab, and each track is correctly listed in order. So why won't they play in order? Any ideas? Thanks

If the shuffle symbol is lit up blue then click again to turn it grey and turn off shuffle.
Otherwise what order are the tracks playing in? Is it consistent?

  • Zen Nano Plus: I can't get my CDs to play in original order...He

    Hello. I'm new here.
I got a Zen Nano Plus 52 mb a few months ago. Installed the software on my computer. I'm not very computer literate.
Here's what's frustrating me: I can't seem to listen to my CDs in their original order.
) I put a CD in my computer
    2) Whether I view the track list in Windows Media Player or in the Creative Media Menu the track list appears in its original order as seen on the CD.
    3) I "rip" the CD to my Nano player.
    4) When I disconnect the player and go to play the album the tracks are all mixed up and not in the original order anymore.
I've tried some different things but nothing seems to correct the problem. I'm hoping someone can direct me what to do. I'm very confused, as I don't understand much of the computer terminology I read.

As in other response, the Nano Plus does not read ID tag info for sorting (it does read part of the tag--song name---only for display while that song is playing). Tag info typically includes the track number. Windows Media Player plays tracks in order of track number contained in the ID3 tags. The Nano Plus only sorts by filename. You can rip your tracks in a format that is prefixed by the track number (for filename). This can be done in Windows Media Player and other programs. Somehow you ripped tracks without the track number first (which would solve your problem). You tracks should look like "0-Come Together-Bealtes.wma" or something like this. This is the FILENAME, as you would see in Windows Explorer. The track info is not visible in Windows Explorer views. You can see it from Windows Media Player or Creative Media Source Organizer, though. Other players like Zen Micro and Touch sort tracks and build the library database on ID3 Tag info, not filenames.

  • Zen Touch album sorted by da

    Hi everyone,
I own a Creative Zen Touch 20Gb and I love it (although the new zen players are probably alot better).
I have a question concerning album order. The albums are sorted in alphabetical order, but I'd prefer them sorted by order of date. So when I search through my library or load all tracks of an artists, the tracks be listed by album date then track number, instread of album alphaetical order...
Anyone know if this is possible? Otherwise, I'll launch a petition
    Cheers all,
    LaTomate.

well I`ve never heard about the "album date" sorting in other players.Anyway the player sorts the album names by alphabetical order and the tracks in an album are sorted by this priority(as far as I know):- track number(although u cannot see it)2- alphabetical order of track title3- If the files has no ID3 info in their track title it just arrange them by their filename? If u`r willing to start a petition for more options plz go ahead although nothing really happens. Many petitons have been conducted for "ogg support, looseless play, dual firmware" but sadly nothing happened. peace?
