I just have a general question is there a way I can trade in my I-pod mini in for credit towards getting a I-pod video I paid $215 for Ipod-mini and it would only take me $100 more to get the video. I would be really happy if I could trade in the mini towards getting the video.

Apple have no trade in scheme. They do have a recycling program that gets you 10% off the price of a new iPod if you take your old one to an Apple store.

New i-pod videos transferring

I'm italian. Last week i bought the new i-pod on line. As soon as it's arrived i've realized that the italian i-tunes music store doesn't still provide the "videoclip" chart. Does anyone knows when the service will be activated? Second: How can I can turn a not MPEG4 clip into a MPEG4 clip using Quick Time Pro 7?

I wouldn't know about the first question that you have.
It would help for your second query if you could tell us what format you are trying to convert to Mpeg4.
I would say that as long as Quicktime can read and play the file it can export it for Ipod. share export...
if it is a dvd that you are trying to convert, then there are plenty of information around.
SHould this be an AVI, as you are a pc user, then I wouldn't know since I don't use AVI. there are pluggins for quicktime to open avi files.
I think that you best bet is to somehow get your file to be played by quicktime since it can export to the right settings for the ipod...

I-Tunes For New i-Pod

I've just purchashed a new i-Pod (30GB) I've previously owned a mini. I'm just wondering do I have to install i-Tunes all over again or will it automatically pick up my new i-pod? as far as I know I have the latest update of i-tunes, but should I install the new version thats on the C.D?

Thanks, yes I have i-tunes 6 however i've just gone to plug in my new i-pod and nothing is happening... it said found new hardware...there was a problem installing your hardware it might not work properly.
Not only that, but when i've removed the usb cable my i-pod seems to be frozen and wont turn off, or even respond.

Faulty Nano Trade in for New Ipod?

Can I trade in my faulty Nano and get the New Ipod, paying the rest of the money, instead of getting another Nano? Because when they say "Impossibly Small" they mean "Impossibly Delicate". My firned went through 3 Nanos and had to replace all of them because they were faulty and supposedly only 1% are and I don't want to go through the chance of that happening again, so is there a possibility that I can get credit towards the New Ipod?

I just received from Apple the new iPod Video last Thursday. I was familiar with earlier versions and was impressed with the video quality. I loaded tons of songs and thousands of pictures. Downloaded Desperate Housewives since there is nothing else worth watching from the Apple store. The iPod started turning itself off within 1 day. The only way to turn it back on was to press center and menu keys. It worked for a day or so.
I called Apple Support and was asked to do a restore from the original computer, which happened to be PC desktop at home. I did, nothing changed.
I am Technology Coordinator at the school where we have about 450 Macs so I am fairly familiar with Apple support and technology part.
My mom died and I flew to Europe on Saturday. Before that I loaded tons of pictures and videos to the laptop to show my family. I bought protective case and do not even have a scratch yet but the iPod died. I took iBook with me and have many PC laptops around here but iPod can not be revived. I tried everything to reset, restore that thing. Hard drive does not spin, screen is black, it does not even drain any power from USP port. I can not get to any of my pictures out of it. I should have transferred them all to the iBook before but that would have erased the existing old l-Tunes Library. Now I am SOL.
I purchased Apple Protection plan for the iPod so I felt safe. Well, I filled out the online case now, got the numbers and nothing happened. Promised email never came, dead silence. Tried again, same thing. Well, I am not going to call Apple Support from Europe and spend a fortune to wait for my sorry turn. Needless to say I am little PO'd.
I live online and can process tons of school emails from Europe but I cant get to Apple.

iPod battery doesn't charge.
Sometimes if the battery gets completely discharged, simply connecting to a USB port on the computer doesn't supply enough power to "kick start" the charging process. In theory it should do, but yours seems to be a common problem.

Should i keep my 13 inch 2.3 8gig MBP? or trade in for New Air?

I was wondering whether I should trade in or sell my 13 inch MBP 2.3 that I received on Father's day 2011 for the New MPA. I was in the store yesterday and the new air seemed to be very quick in response time. I generally dont perform too many high end task. I will do recording on garage band and editing in imovie but otherwise normal routine task. I take my MBP to work on a daily basis and use it for presentations for my sunday sermons. Any thoughts? I dont want to lose anything but i like the look and jazzy air. Weight is a plus too.

Generally (and in my opinion):
1) do not buy any computer you cannot replace the hard drive and the RAM in.
2) do NOT (EVER, EVER, EVER) purchase RAM or expended hard drive from any vendor (like Apple, Dell, etc). they mark up the RAM
purchase the lowest machine that will work for you and upgrade the RAM and hard drive down the road. Just look at the price Apple charges for the upgrade from 4GB to 8 GB:
Apple is charging the (4GB RAM + $100) for the 8GB upgrade. You can easily get 8GB for $100. later you should be able to get 8GB for $60.
Same thing for the hard drives:
Applis charging the price of (500GB + $100) for the 750GB drive. I just bought a 750GB notebook drive for $99
I, personally, would return the retina notebook for a MacBookPro that you can upgrade the hd and ram

(Depends on your current credit situation, but) according to your preference of keep your vehicle as long as you can, refinance is almost certainly a better deal financially. Credit unions like DCU, PenFed or local ones offer great rates. If you can give a better picture of your credir profile, I think everyone here can give good recommendations on where to go for a refi.

I heard that it is possible for you to trade in an old model of iPod, along with 60 dollars, and get the newest version (in my case g4 to g5) i was wondering if you can really do this.

Apple don't offer this kind of trade in. They have a recycling program in place that gets you 10% off the price of a new iPod if you hand in your old one at the time of purchase. You can do this (I believe) at any Apple store.
However, you may think that your iPod is worth more than 10% off the cost of a new one, and perhaps want to sell it on eBay instead.
There are sites such as Small Dog Electronics that do have a trade in policy for iPods.

"more info" in Get Info showing "--" instead of actual infos for newer videos and images

I've just noticed that when I click on "Get Info" on my newer pictures and videos, the "more info" section is now showing "--" instead of the dimensions of the images and videos. However when I go to my older files, the info is showing. Also if I search any of the newer files (those with the missing info) in Spotlight, it doesn't show up. I've done some research and some people suggest reindexing Spotlight, but that never worked for me. In fact, even if I exclude a folder in my Privacy list, it's still showing as a result when I search them. I'm sure this is a problem with Spotlight as it stores the dimensions info, but since reindexing it is not a solution, can it be solved in some other way?

It takes time on newer things, but might have to be opened first or something.
