Trade in for new model?

I heard that it is possible for you to trade in an old model of iPod, along with 60 dollars, and get the newest version (in my case g4 to g5) i was wondering if you can really do this.

Not from Apple, however, check Small Dog Electronics:
http://www.smalldog.com/wag13041/%22
The amount you get back is based on the age/condition, etc of the iPod you send them.

  • I just swapped old modem for new model. Says I'm connected but airport flashing amber and no connection. Do I have to configure a new network???

I just swapped out old modem for new model. Airport flashing amber. Wi-Fi connection good but airport not responding. Do I need to configure a new network connection? Change anything in airport utility?

    Welcome to the forum!
I'm a big fan of resetting in situations like this. Who knows what boxes you've ticked where...
Use the hard reset button with a paper clip on your Airport express. Hold it til the light starts blinking, then let it reset.
While it's resetting, go into your Network prefs and make sure you're set up to connect via Airport. Delete any references to your prior wireless network in the preferred networks section. Go into your keychain utility and delete any passwords there. (this is assuming you were using some form of wireless security).
After your AE has restarted, choose it from the Airport pull-down menu and run the Airport Setup Assistant utility. Once you've got it up and running, use Airport Admin utility to set security and passwords.
Seems drastic, but after all the poking around you've done, these steps should be pretty simple to perform. I'm guessing your original "Looking for PPPoE host" was a temporary problem with your IP. Maybe the ethernet cable was unplugged from AE?
    Good luck

  • Exchange recently purchased macbook for new model?

I recently ordered a new macbook which they tried to deliver for the first time today although no one was in. I went for the mid-range macbook but upgraded to a 120gb hard drive which I was v. happy with until I went online today and discovered that they've know upgraded the mid-range one to 120gb any way and increased the processer speed all for less than I paid! :S Can anyone advise me on my best course of action? Is it possible to exchange it for the new model at the cheaper price?! As a student could really use the money back! Or if I can't get an exchange would apple refund the difference in price? I used the higher educational discount and am in the UK. I gather if I do return it there is a charge even if I havn't opened it? Or can I take it straight to my local apple store? (don't know about an official apple one but there a KRCS one near me). I also saw somewhere that if you had any upgrades you can't return?! Please help! Can't even find the relevant number or e mail to use contact apple as I've found several diff. numbers and not sure which is the right one.

Thank you both I will contact applecare tomorrow. I'm not so worried about the processor speed as that wouldn't make much difference it's more the money difference as the new model would give me the same thing (with slightly better processor speed) for £130 less! so even if I have to pay £60 to return it would still be worth it. Just hope they let me with it being a CTO. Thanks again for your help.

  • Will Apple Store Swap Old Model For New Model?

I have a question. Suppose you bought a brand new MacBook Pro within the last 2 weeks from an Apple Store, and new models come out, say, this week. If you took your brand new MacBook Pro back to the Apple Store, would they exchange it for free for one of the new models?
If that is indeed the case, what's the date range? Within the last 2 weeks from the date the new models come out, or perhaps even the last month?

I believe there is a 2 week grace period. There might be a restocking fee involved. Why not ask at an Apple store?

  • Replacing 3 weeks old MacBook Pro for new model

Well i purchased a MacBook Pro 13" just three weeks ago and now there is a new model launched which is of the same cost now i want to change my MacBook for the new one so how can that be possible??
will i have to pay more because i got mine for same cost just three weeks ago...
    Will be waiting for reply

You've passed the 14-day 'no questions asked' return policy so your best best would just to be to sell on eBay or some other online retailer that takes 'used' computer equipment (though your best bet is eBay).
    Sorry,

  • When will Adobe Air be available for newer models of Samsung Tablets (Tablet 3 version 4.2.2)?

As a result of this I cannot use any apps or games that need Adobe Air installed on my tablet!  It keeps saying "Package file is invalid".

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Can you trade in macbook pros for newer models?

there is an apple store near where i live, and i was wondering if i took it in for them to look at it, could i trade it, along with a little more money, for the newer macbook pro? It is on excelent condition.

Apple does not to trade-ins. Sell it yourself on eBay or similar.

  • Trade in for new I-pod video

I just have a general question is there a way I can trade in my I-pod mini in for credit towards getting a I-pod video I paid $215 for Ipod-mini and it would only take me $100 more to get the video. I would be really happy if I could trade in the mini towards getting the video.

Apple have no trade in scheme. They do have a recycling program that gets you 10% off the price of a new iPod if you take your old one to an Apple store.
    You should try this.
How to accurately determine your iPod battery life.
Bear in mind that the battery indicator is well known for being inaccurate.

  • Faulty Nano Trade in for New Ipod?

Can I trade in my faulty Nano and get the New Ipod, paying the rest of the money, instead of getting another Nano? Because when they say "Impossibly Small" they mean "Impossibly Delicate". My firned went through 3 Nanos and had to replace all of them because they were faulty and supposedly only 1% are and I don't want to go through the chance of that happening again, so is there a possibility that I can get credit towards the New Ipod?

Okay so here it goes... I am 17 years old and very responsible....come home on time and all that........i got the ipod nano less than two months ago........i left it my coat pocket adn hung my coat in my empty coat hanger.....naxt morning i take out my nano and am i in for a schock....The lcd is broken???How did that happen.......I was so careful.........What should i do....???Who do i contact...I worked all summer and saved for an ipod....should have gotten the mini???can someone tell who to contact or a phone number i can call.......I am in canada

  • Should i keep my 13 inch 2.3 8gig MBP? or trade in for New Air?

I was wondering whether I should trade in or sell my 13 inch MBP 2.3 that I received on Father's day 2011 for the New MPA.  I was in the store yesterday and the new air seemed to be very quick in response time.  I generally dont perform too many high end task.  I will do recording on garage band and editing in imovie but otherwise normal routine task.  I take my MBP to work on a daily basis and use it for presentations for my sunday sermons.  Any thoughts?  I dont want to lose anything but i like the look and jazzy air.  Weight is a plus too.
If yes, second question would be whether to get 128 or 256?  and can I upgrade the ssd later?

    Generally (and in my opinion):
    1) do not buy any computer you cannot replace the hard drive and the RAM in.
    2) do NOT (EVER, EVER, EVER) purchase RAM or expended hard drive from any vendor (like Apple, Dell, etc).  they mark up the RAM
purchase the lowest machine that will work for you and upgrade the RAM and hard drive down the road.    Just look at the price Apple charges for the upgrade from 4GB to 8 GB:
Apple is charging the (4GB RAM + $100) for the 8GB upgrade.  You can easily get 8GB for $100.  later you should be able to get 8GB for $60.
Same thing for the hard drives:
Applis charging the price of (500GB + $100) for the 750GB drive.  I just bought a 750GB notebook drive for $99
I, personally, would return the retina notebook for a MacBookPro that you can upgrade the hd and ram

  • Schedule for new model of iPad?

I'm considering buying an iPad. I am clueless as to the product cycle dates here - did they just release the new version, or are they about to? I can wait a couple of months if there's new hardware about to be released; anyone know?
    thank you,
    Mike

As a general rule, the rumor sites, like the mac rumors buyers guide:
    http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/
are good places to look for this kind of speculative information (it's against the rules here to speculate on unreleased products, so you won't get many answers).
However, the rumor sites use the time between releases as their baseline to set up the cycle for a particular product, and since there's only been one release of the ipad, and that recently, I'm afraid you won't find anything but random guesses there, either, for the ipad.

  • Refinance for lower APR or trade-in for newer car & lower APR?

After my 16 year old car went kaput suddenly, I had to purchase another vehicle. I went with a 2 year old used car, it wasn't exactly what I wanted, but what I needed...about $15,500...my credit wasn't in the best shape so Santander was the only available financing at the time. After making 9 payments, the payoff is currently $18,788.04 and I still have until 2020 to go : /The salesman is trying to convince me go see him when it makes 1 year- claiming he could get me in a newer car for the same note monthly (don't want that) or possibly lower. It sounds too good to be true, but if my credit has improved some, maybe it is possible? I am someone who keeps a car for a long time, till the wheels fall off.

(Depends on your current credit situation, but) according to your preference of keep your vehicle as long as you can, refinance is almost certainly a better deal financially. Credit unions like DCU, PenFed or local ones offer great rates. If you can give a better picture of your credir profile, I think everyone here can give good recommendations on where to go for a refi.

  • Swap old ipod touch for newer model?

I have the 2nd gen touch and want the 4th gen.

Sell yours, buy a new one. Apple will only buy your old one at a nominal price for their recycling program. They will provide you with a gift card.
