Trade in iPad 3 for iPad Air

Two questions:
Can I trade in my iPad3 Wi-Fi and Verizon Wireless for an iPad Air?
Can the retail employee transfer all my data off my iPad 3 to the new IPad Air during the transaction?
Thanks!

(1) Well the carriers are taking trade ins from any carrier. So I would call 1-800-922-0204 and ask.
(2) I highly doubt the store can transfer your ipad data from one to the other. You can do this through i Cloud or iTunes if you use these services.
I have seen where some people cannot get anything other than contacts off one device to the other. I would check with the store.
Good Luck

  • Worth Switching Original iPad for iPad 2?

I got an original iPad in August and I really love it. Is it worth making the switch from that to an iPad 2? I have heard a lot of users on here voicing their problems with it, but is it a good choice to upgrade? I looked into the second one, and it seems really cool! And is there any way to sell my iPad and receive credit toward the new one?
    Thanks !

I got an original iPad in August and I really love it. Is it worth making the switch from that to an iPad 2?
It depends on what you use your iPad for and what lacks, if any, you've found in the current model. Certainly the iPad 2 is faster, particularly for games or other graphically intensive apps, and new apps are already starting to appear or be announced that will take advantage of that extra speed. But if your needs are more to the productivity type - taking notes, doing email, web surfing and such - the performance improvements will probably be less noticable.
I have heard a lot of users on here voicing their problems with it
This is a technical support site, so what you're most likely to see are posts from people who are having problems. People who have no problems with their new iPads have little incentive to come here and post.
And is there any way to sell my iPad and receive credit toward the new one?
Of course you can sell your iPad, through any of the normal places you'd sell something. If, however, you are asking whether Apple will take your current iPad as a trade-in, no, they won't. There are places that will, but you'll probably get more for your current iPad if you sell it yourself.
So it comes down to your own needs and desires. Read all the information about the new model, its capabilities and performance, and then decide whether it's worth the cost to you.
    Regards.

  • Return iPad for iPad 2?

Hi I guys I recently bought my iPad on 27 of February. I thought there would be no iPad 2 since past thursday after that day i got very sad but my dad said that he heard that if you bought your ipad recently you could exchange it for ipad 2 for $100 dlls.He heard that in some radio stations. Now, is that true?

    Hi,
You can return an iPad within 14 days of purchase for an exchange or refund.
Whatever is heard on a radio station, can't be trusted.
    Apple Refund Policy here.
The new iPad will be available March 11th as noted here. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipad/family/ipad/start/select?mco=MjE zNTIwNzE
    May have heard this? http://blog.gadgethelpline.com/apple-offering-100-refund-ipad-customers-2-weeks/
Two weeks is still beyond the 14 day refund policy in your case unfortunately.

  • Is there a trade up program for ipad?

I really want an ipad2 but dont want to take a beating on my ipad 1. Any way to trade up through apple?

Actually, they don't give 10% for recycling; at least not in any country I know of. The 10% recycling credit only applies to iPods, and toward the purchase of another iPod. That program doesn't apply to iPads at any Apple Store I know about. The only program for the iPad is, as I mentioned, the program through the third-party company:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/reuse_and_recycle
If that program isn't available in your country, then to the best of my knowledge an independent sale will be your only option unless there's a local dealer that takes trade-ins.
    Regars.

  • Is there a trade-in program for iPad 2?

I'm a professional photographer and finding that 32GB is really not enough space for me.  A total of 64GB would be close to perfect.  So I'm wondering if I can simply trade my current one in.  It's in perfect conditiion.

Apple in conjunction with another company has a recycling program where you can get some value for your current iPad. See:
    http://www.apple.com/recycling/gift-card/
Amazon and some other dealers also offer trade-in programs. But in almost all such cases, you can get more, usually significantly more, by selling your iPad yourself.
    Regards.

  • Can I trade my ipad 2 for new air ipad?

Can I trade my ipad 2 for new air ipad?

No. Apple does not take trade ins.
You can sell your iPad and use the money to buy a new one.
Alternatively you can use one of Apple's recycling partners to get an Apple Store Gift card for a fraction of the iPad's worth and use that in any Apple store to buy a new iPad.

You can get an estimate for your iPad here:

  • Trade in Mac air for iPad air

will apple store accept trade in of Mac air 13 (mid-2011) for iPad air?

Only if you purchased the Air from an Apple store 14 days ago or less.  Since you have a 2011 MBA, that is not going to be the case so you will have to sell the MBA.
    Ciao.

  • How do I express my concern over Apple's recent e-mail offer to me for trade-in/upgrade of iPad?

Here is what happened.  Can't even locate someone within Apple who would entertain such a complaint.  Apple has effectively turned its wonderful 'customer service' into a Rube Goldberg puzzle where the customer will take what is offered or take nothing at all.
On July 9, 2014, I received an e-mail from Apple explaining I could trade in my old iPad and upgrade to a new one.  A refund gift card commensurate to my current iPad would be issued that I could use toward the purchase of a new iPad.
I wiped my 3rd generation 32GB iPad clean and made the 72-mile round trip to your Apple Retail Store in Greensboro, NC on the morning of July 14th. I was greeted by one of your staff, Darius, and explained to him I'd like to turn in my old iPad for a gift card and purchase a new iPad. He immediately responded he didn't think that would be possible.  I offered to show him a copy of your e-mail I had received.  He then said I would be able to turn in the old iPad for a credit but I must immediately buy a new one there.  I asked for further clarification whether I could receive an Apple gift card since I wanted to buy a refurbished iPad Mini, Retina Display to save a little money and put that savings toward buying one with more memory.  He said "no", I could only buy a refurbished iPad through your online store.  Darius further explained that I could not use the Apple Store credit to buy an Apple product from the Apple Online Store. I also had brought to the store an old PowerBook G4 I wanted to turn in for recycling. Darius responded incredulously that the Apple Store, "does not do that".
I feel I was misled by your e-mail of July 11 in that it was not clear that I could only turn in my old iPad at an Apple Store if I purchased a new item at that particular store.  It was news to me that Apple Gift Cards are not universal between your online and physical stores.  I found the Apple Store representative to be very dismissive of my questions and to lack any imagination in trying to help me buy the Apple product I was interested in.  He was as happy to see me leave the store, empty-handed, as I was to leave.
    Regards,
    (contact info redacted for privacy)

USer to user forum-no Apple here.
I Think it is very clear you must use the card in store.
Apple stores have never carried or sold refurbished devices.
Apple stores have never claimed, advertised or posted signs saying they are a recycling center.

  • Web design company looking for iPad app to display my portfolio at a trade show

I run a small web development business and have my first trade show coming up. I'll have a booth setup and was hoping to have my iPad out on the table for people to pick up and scroll through my portoflio (ie web designs, logo concepts, etc.). I've seen this app:
    Portfolio for iPad
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/portfolio-for-ipad/id384210950?mt=8
which looks great but I was wondering if anyone else had other options. I like the idea that the above app allows you to lock the device so that users can only scroll through the portfolio and need a PIN to do anything else.
I don't have much experience with the iPad as I just got it and I don't do any app development. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Locking the iPad so that a user can't exit an app isn't possible for any developer to implement, since the developer kit doesn't provide that sort of access to the low-level routines in iOS. The only way to lock into a single app is to use a case/frame that covers the Home button (and turn off the gesture support in the settings in iOS 5).  A number of companies make kiosk mounts for this purpose.
    Regards.

  • I have an iPhone 4S, iPad and MacBook Air.  I'm looking for an app or program where I can track time spent of specific projects each day and also document details of each project.  Is there anything available that is synced through iCloud?

I have an iPhone 4S, iPad and MacBook Air.  I'm looking for a program or app that I can sync though iCloud that will allow me to us all of these devices to track time spent on projects each day along with the ability to add specific information about each project.  Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

I recommend you consider Omnifocus.  It is a task management program which runs on the Mac, Iphone & Ipad. I use it for task management and project management.  It let's you store additional information as well.   I sync all three devices through a Mobile Me account and I can enter data on any device and it is available on all devices.  I believe you can also sync through Dropbox.  I'm not sure that you can sync through iCloud yet.  The link to their website is:  www.omnigroup.com.  There may be less expensive alternatives, but this one meets my needs and syncs very well across all devices.
